Me sharing a Sports Tai Chi Push Hands with Master Longfei Yang. I had heard about him through a short documentary on how his Tai Chi is most closely related to Praying Mantis Kung Fu (which my father studied deeply), then I found out we had a mutual friend that brought us together. Great guy, and very open minded to experience something unfamiliar like how this sport is played, even though he has a masterful family lineage. That’s a REAL martial artist in my book. I want everyone to know I was absolutely TERRIFIED FOR YEARS when thinking about producing @justiceforhire as a martial arts action series made with a global community. A show where anyone can join the cast from their phone and be an action hero? No one has done this before, and being first has pros and cons, especially when it comes to the law. Interviewing former FBI Hostage Negotiator @chipjmassey was not only a huge honor for me, but it represents a dream coming true regarding having him as an advisor for JFH and our social film studio @reelwurld. I got more specific on the podcast, talking about some of the paralyzing fear I had for the tool ReelwUrld is building cinematic storytelling, and what I knew it would take to do what no other movie studio or TV network at the time was ready to do - WHAT JFH IS ACCOMPLISHING AS A COMMUNITY OF HEROES. Chip embodies the strength and clarity of our vision to help people be heroes in their own lives, AND HE’S A MARTIAL ARTIST I’VE TRAINED TAI CHI WITH. Google reminded me of this pic of me and gaming guru @janroessner playing Sports Tai Chi Push Hands grappling at @nybestkickboxing in 2018. Jan is a world class mind and that manifested in how he played my favorite sport regardless of it was his first time. He’s also the only other Jan in my phone besides my father and myself. What he’s working on at @oneearthrising is a big deal for entertainment and humanity, and it’s indicative of his big heart. I hope to achieve a similar lasting impression for what my team and I are building for the film & TV industry @reelwurld. Spending time with CEOs like Jan reminds me of what it means to be a leader, and how to handle my responsibilities across life with grace. I didn’t expect to end the @reelwurld launch day by coaching a full team Sports Push Hands training session, but Jason Bukich of @_thedojo.com_ @worldseriesofjiujitsu was in town and wanted to experience Tai Chi World Cup style grappling, so it had to happen. Sensei @donniejeffcoat of @shaolinamerican was instantly supportive to bring this training to the school. l didn’t expect Jerry Liu of @fightcommentary to join us, who has a long history with the school and Sensei Jared.
