“There’s no story,” I say. “I saw you one day, and I just knew.”
Some bookish art for all you bookish people
When someone asks "Don't you get tired of reading all the time?"
Forever torn between “this edition is cheaper” and “this edition is so pretty I might cry”
Story of my life
WHEN YOUR FAVORITE CHARACTER IS KIND OF AN ASSHOLE
It’s just like:
WHEN A BOOK IS SO PREDICTABLE YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT'S COMING
It’s like:
hee.
That’s the truth.
I don’t understand why books have shifted from having summaries on the back of the covers to having one-line reviews.
Seriously though. I want to know what the book is about. Not that someone from the Evening Standard thinks it’s a masterpiece.
I have been waiting for this post my whole life.
does anyone else suddenly get hit with flashes of dialogue or scenery or characterization that would be perfect to use if you actually had a plot you could incorporate it into
Starting a book without reading any reviews for it is like jumping into water feet first without looking. Will it be shallow? Will it be too deep? There’s no way of knowing without jumping in.
but the question is would your favorite character have a crush on you too
Some good ole preclass reading 😎 #bookstagram #books #book #reading #bookmark

Basically every time in my life that someone has asked me if I'm busy:
Ah chaptigue, we know the feeling well! Have you pulled a book all-nighter before?
"Soul Surfer" by Bethany Hamilton
Personally, I'm not a huge non-fiction fan, but whoa. This one is good.
Soul Surfer follows the life of pro surfer, Bethany Hamilton, and the events leading up to her life changing accident.
The book opens up with some background stories about Bethany's life when she was first starting to swim and surf, and what her life was before she went surfing the one morning that changed everything she ever knew.
About halfway through the book, Bethany and her family friends go surfing, just like they would any other day. The result is a tiger shark coming and leaving with Bethany's left arm.
Soul Surfer is about Hamilton's journey to adjusting to a life using only one arm, and how she learns to do the things she loves regardless of her set-backs.
Do I recommend this book? 100% yes. This book definitely changed the way I look at life- I now know not to take even the simplest things for granted, and I know that family and friends are the most important people there will ever be in your life.
Why should you read this book? This book is so inspiring. Even though Bethany lost her arm and believes she will never get back on the waves, she sets her mind to it and pushes herself so she can continue doing what she loves. I've definitely learned to never give up. This is my most favorite non-fiction book of all time.
