Quentin Beck Predicting the MCU???
Mysterio: After everything that’s happened, the human race will believe anything. Soooo I’ll just tell everyone that I’m from another universe where the Elementals took everything I ever loved and it’s easy sailing to becoming the best superhero ever.
Everyone: Yeah, this definitely makes sense.
Mysterio: See? A multiverse isn’t too hard to believe. The whole world fell for it!
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness: ...?
Then my limbs all froze and my eyes won't close and I can't say no, I can't say no.

this. is. bad.
So I had this hypothesis…. that stereotypes still exist and like obvious scenarios happen that are cliche. Someone told me they don’t happen and society has moved on. I was shaking my head, because sadly I believe that our society hasn’t moved on. These things that we think aren’t even true, but we take movies and TV shows from the 90′s and 2000′s and make perceptions of “the look of the stereotyped group”. With the help from my friend @wouldili2u, I conducted an experiment to socially see if these stereotypical constructs still exist. I asked her to put together an image in her head of these groups, and send me a picture of the “look” while I constructed my image and did the same. Our images were very similar, which is sad, but it proves that we take these false concepts and still apply them to our perceptions today. We did the popular girl, jock, goth/emo, hipster, and nerd. And WE HAD THE SAME LOOKS! That is sad that individuality decreases and there becomes a universal look.
These stereotypes still exist. And that leads to unfair perceptions, which our world has an extreme problem with. Stigma leads to assumption and assimilation to these stereotypes, after trying to combat these stereotypes and show individuality, to the point where no one listens. Communities are different than stereotypes, because a community is there to support you, and while they are similar to you, and you find a place in your heart to finally accept you, they are not there to assimilate to you and continue on these stereotypes. So the message here is be united but be individual. It sounds like a contradiction but through unity at the same time as individuality, we can all find our communities, without becoming universal to follow stigma.
REBLOG and share to get this message across using the tag #united but individual.
I agree that this is the sad truth about our society today. @lovexxxlovethings and I created shockingly similar images of certain social groups based off of expired stereotypes. Both our “popular girl” outfits were pale pink and we found two different Letterman jackets with the exact same color and stitching for our image of a “jock”. The fact that we are rooted in such old stereotypes with something like this is scary. If we still think social groups in schools look like mirror images of things from movies like Mean Girls, imagine how convinced people are of more important stereotypes. If school stereotypes are this bad...how are racial stereotypes? Religious stereotypes? Stereotypes of sexuality? The list goes on and on, and these problems can never be solved without first acknowledging that they exist. We as the united human race need to fight to prove these generalizations wrong. While some school groups may fall into the generalizations my friend and I discussed, they don’t all. We need to apply this logic to all harmful stereotypes and agree that while they did come from somewhere, they don’t apply to an entire race or religious group. We need to speak out to make change.
I hope this made sense. Reblog to get the message around that we are #united but individual.
And therein lies the issue: friends don't try to trick you, get you on the phone and mind-twist you.
