settings I would love to see more in fantasy:
Deserts, but like, positive. Deserts portrayed as beautiful places full of life and wonder. Desert as homeland, desert as a place of beauty and intrinsic value.
Mountains. Andean-style settings where the world is mountainous and the land is organized into altitude zones, where uphill/downhill are more meaningful than east/west
Island archipelagos. We’ve gotten a few in fantasy recently but 1) I want More 2) I want someone to do a Fantasy Kula Ring
Something inspired by Tiwanaku or Chavín de Huántar
Independent city-states. They all are unified by basically the same culture but they are all also politically independent variously at war, making alliances, happily trading, in a trade war, conquered and subordinate to other city-states, founding new city-states, travelling to the central temples of other city-states’ patron gods, etc.
Full of prehistoric animals that never coexisted with humans but they do in this fantasy world because they’re Cool
You know my favorite bits in period dramas are the ones where the heroine is “not like other girls” and chooses not to wear a corset because, let’s be real, no inteligent woman in a period drama setting would do that.
And then you can tell it was written by someone without a chest because next thing you know, they’ll be running off across a field or something.
Like girl, you just took of the only breast support you had, and now you’re sprinting across a field?? How is this not an issue??
And then they’re like “I’m a woman of science” but clearly no, because any woman who knows anything about weight distribution wouldn’t choose to fling off their corset whilst still wearing a poofy skirt. Like it’s there for a reason. It distributes the weight and keeps your 50 lbs of skirts from digging into your bare skin. And I cannot stress this strongly enough, IT SUPPORTS THE BUST. WHAT ARE YOU DOING. I’ll make an exception if they’re dressing as a man, but otherwise, WHAT ARE YOU DOING??
And then they say it’s because they’re painful or that they’re “instruments of the patriarchy”, except no they fucking weren’t, men wore corsets too, they were literally just bust support and historical corsets didn’t hurt, because they were made to fit your body, and they actually molded to fit it more the more you wore them. I know, I have multiple.
And if you think one couldn’t breathe, yes you could, people wore corset like garments for like 500 years, you think they would wear them if they couldn’t breathe? And no they didn’t lace them tightly except for special occasions and that was only a few people. In fact for most of history, it was physically impossible to lace boned garments any tighter then they were supposed to go because metal eyelets weren’t invented yet. You achieved the small waist look by padding out your hips and maybe your chest and sleeves creating an optical illusion
For all the mockery over the berries thing, I’m pretty sure they’re there to avoid showing blood while still suggesting bleeding: there’s almost no blood during any of the deaths or injuries in the movie, and that was intentional. The berries are a fig leaf on Loki’s self injury.
I really dislike the “it’s just berry juice!” take, because have you ever stepped on a berry? It doesn’t have so much liquid in it, and it wouldn’t run down the skin this way, it is obviously blood, this is just a disney movie, they couldn’t just out right tell us it’s blood-
I’m so intensely curious about what exactly happened here though. Like did he step on a piece broken glass? Did he kick something with his bare foot? Did you go crazy and carve his foot up on purpose?
Also, the rest of it. Did he like.. rip his own clothes up like that with his hands? Or was it just a side effect of all the debris violently flying around the cell? Did he use telekinesis to destroy everything or did he just throw stuff around? At what point did he decide to remove his vest and shoes? What are the grey smudges on the wall supposed to be? Old faded dried blood or smeared food or burn marks of some sort? Did his hair get disheveled from all the movement or was he actively snatching on it? I have to know.
I personally tend to believe that he was already not doing well and covering it up with illusions. We see him doing it when Thor comes to visit and we see him use even more illusions in the delated scene where he pretends to be Thor.
So some of it would be long term neglect and some of it would be that outburst

Hot Take #3: Marvel’s version of Sigyn is not a fledged character and she is horribly written. Stop acting like she is better written than Sylvie.
-----------------------
Everytime I see someone say that she should be brought into the MCU (or the comics), I roll my eyes. In the comics, she’s just a prop to show how cruel Loki is because early depictions wanted him to be evil incarnate. And stop bringing Norse mythology into the Marvel versions about how they did love each other at some point due to her holding the bowl to protect Loki’s face until Ragnarok, blah blah. MCU is the MCU, Marvel comics are Marvel comics, and the myths are the myths, and y’all keep moving the goalposts with what you pick and chose from the various different media depictions. It’s perfectly fine if you included Sigyn for your fanfic or AU, but acting like it should be cannon because you cherry-picked the myths, and trash-talking an established MCU female character (Sylvie) is obnoxious. And how the fuck do you all expect everyone to be on the same page with you?
I don’t want her back in the comics unless there is some MAJOR rewriting of the relationship between her and Loki. The comics constantly retcon events to make characters either worse or more sympathetic. And I think a lot of the heroes have likely done something horribly shitty at some point but get it retconned or added. So why can’t they retcon her existance? Her story is not helpful or empowering to women. As a woman, I don’t want to see that.
And if anything, it promotes the “depraved effeminate man is especially dangerous to women” trope. That pisses me off because I have never been harrassed or in any way hurt by queer men. Cishet gender-conforming men, on the other hand… It pisses me off when a demographic that is not the typical offender gets overrepresented as such in media (*cough* Buffalo Bill). Like how “nazi” was added as a pejorative to feminist with the “feminazi” term.
I see these weird Marvel Sigyn stans acting like she is a real person and Loki “must be held accountable.” They’re not real. They’re drawings. CHILL. Use that energy to condemn real abusers (I better not learn any of you sided with Depp).
Marvel comics!Sigyn upholds the myth of the “perfect victim” that never fights back. This myth is responsible for terms such as “reactive abuse” and “mutual abuse.” There’s no such thing, it’s just self-defense.
And I find it annoying how you all act like being loyal to your abusive husband is a sign of sainthood. As if she wasn’t offered a way out from the very start and constantly aided a supervillain, which gives ideas to make her character more interesting. Make her morally grey and tone down Loki’s cruelty in the relationship or retcon it. For someone to be so committed to Loki in that manner, they need a cruel streak. Make her the Kim Wexler to Loki’s Jimmy McGill if you really must include her.
As a Sigyn fan....I feel embarrassed how some Sigyn ' fans ' conduct themselves
Look, I understand the whole issues with Marvel Comics! Sigyn and I understand that Sigyn may not come back in the Marvel Comics
I'd still love to see Sigyn in MCU tho, if only for a minor on screen role or smth ( similarly with Laura having a minor on screen role in MCU )
I also love Loki x Sigyn ( Norse Myths ), I also have my own HCs of MCU! Sigyn and such ( you can go to my Tumblr page for it )
But....honestly, berating someone over their HCs or adaptations featuring Sigyn not like their HCs of Sigyn! That is just very embarrassing. One may feel disappointed, sure, but cyberbullying is not okay no matter how one may spin it
Also about Sylvie....I tried to tolerate her as a character yet now I just can't stand her, and it's not because of me loving Loki x Sigyn ( Norse Myths ). It's cuz Sylvie is an emotionally stunted narcissist, with little regard for others, let alone the thousands of lives at stake at the Multiverse war. All she ever cared at those points is her goal to wipe out ALL the Kang and Ravonna variants. Despite that, at least Sylvie isn't a flat character and actually a complex character
Regarding rhe Marvel Comics, I hope Sigyn in the Marvel Comics eventually finds true happiness at last in an alternate timeline or smth, especially after all the shit she has endured with old Comics! Loki ( who is TERRIBLE and a ' God of Evil ' and all )
And okay, so one adaptation of a story isn't to your liking. So what? It's disappointing for several, yes, but it is not the end of the world. There are so many more issues and all And there is no need to tear down another over an ADAPTATION OF A STORY ( especially regarding fiction ). Please, to such ' fans ', find ways to cope, and move on. Thank you.
I'd love to see Sigyn simmilar to myths, where she was devoted wife and Loki for all his flaws cared about her in a way.
Comic accurate Sigyn would be too much of a pushover to be with any marvel character, becouse even the well intentioned ones are often hot headed.
It just feels kind of wrong how in a Loki show there is so little reference to Norse myths. If not Sigyn than Angrboda. Or at least a character from comics assosiated with Loki (Lorelai, Amora etc.)
Why some OC?
Gwaine: In my defense, I was left unsupervised
Arthur: .... Wasn't Merlin with you?
Merlin: In my defense, I was also left unsupervised
Loki: *runs out of normal ways to sacrifice himself*
Loki: *invents an entirely new and unprecedented form of self-sacrifice*

Gwaine: *also turns around in swivel chair* Care to- *keeps spinning* wait- help I can’t stop-
Merlin: Listen, Arthur, just don't beat yourself up. You can't possibly be expected to control whether or not Gwaine and I surreptitiously follow you after you get a call during breakfast.
Arthur: But I specifically told you not to follow.
Merlin: [to Gwaine] I thought he said "farrow."
Arthur: [to Gwaine] "Farrow" is not a word. I said follow. He knows I said follow.
Gwaine: I wasn't there, but farrow is most definitely a word.
Merlin: Thank you.
Gwaine: It means to birth a calf or a litter of pigs.
Arthur: Okay, fine. Why would I ask Merlin not to birth a calf or a litter of pigs?
Gwaine: I don't know.
One of the most important revelations from S2 E4 has to be the fact that Mobius loves to download and play unauthorised games that have the potential to corrupt system files. The way he denied repeating his mistake is extremely suspicious. It's impossible not to love this man.
Miles: Oh! I love Chai tea :)
Pavitr:
Her mom taught her the ancient lore. This is good.
I learned dances like this from a book.
had to add another classic
Mobius: I’m never having a debate with Loki again. He literally started his argument with “Riddle me this”
