okok not to hijack your post but if you’re the kind of person who tends to lose motivation when you’re doing something longer and more repetitive then don’t make your first project one with a bunch of granny squares! learning how to make a granny square is a great thing to do when you’re first learning but a lot of people think that means their first real project should also be made of granny squares and a lot of the time that sort of repetitive project kinda just makes you lose motivation when you’re first starting.
these are a few of the projects I started with or ones I’ve taught other people who were just learning how to crochet:
Leggy Frogs and other simple amigurumi/plushies (especially no sew)
Coasters (you can make them a plain circle like in this video or find a different pattern if you want something more creative)
but there’s a bunch of beginner friendly patterns out there for whatever you’re interested in, omazingpaige’s beginner-friendly pattern idea videos on YouTube can be somewhere to look if you’ve learned the basics and you’re looking for a simple project
