hey i just wanted to let you know that gofundme you posted is kinda setting up some red flags (gofundme does not work in gaza and the fact that the organizer is according to the site in belgium and does not specify how this money is getting to gaza is...kinda strange)
If you want to donate to a humanitarian organization then by all means! But there are so many scammers out there taking advantage of the situation it might be worth taking an extra moment to look into where the money might be the most effective to help people to make sure it doesn't just go to scammers
True. Absolutely true, people are taking advantage of the ongoing conflict in Palestine and people should be careful to donate to people who will actually receive it.
However, it should be known that other people, in various different countries, are setting up GFM accounts on behalf of these people and families. I would also like to reiterate that I am but a humble Tumblr user, and to me, the link seemed fine, but then again I'm not the most well-versed when it comes to GFM. So please do your own research before donating, so you know your money is going to be the most beneficial in helping the people in Palestine.
That being said, I just assumed that people would be doing their own research too, and at the end of the day, I wasn't going to take the chance of not posting that and it being real and less people seeing it.
Keep safe out there, guys. And remember to be kind and do your own research if something seems iffy.
Hello dear friends! ❤🤍🖤💚
🍉I am Mahmoud Ayyad, a Palestinian from the besieged and destroyed Gaza 😭😭, coming from an extended family of young children, women and elderly people ❤❤ who have been suffering😭😭 for 300 difficult days from an aggressive war.
Our lives are harsh because we lack all the basic necessities of life. Everything has become scarce and unattainable. There is no food, no water, no medicine.
So, I ask you to help me keep my family safe and alive, especially after we had lost all our sources of livelihood. Please do not leave my family to struggle and suffer these difficult days alone. You can support my campaign by donating whatever you can or by sharing my posts to reach others who can help us survive the war to safety and peace. You are helping the lives of many people with your small contribution. Every donation makes a difference in our very difficult lives. But this is a legitimate campaign and has been checked by 90-ghost.

700 Palestinians were killed in the last 24 hours and the airstrikes are more violent each night. Gaza's hospitals have fuel left for two more days. Israel only allowed aid into Gaza on the condition they didn't carry fuel. The Indonesian hospital has shut down already, because doctors have no supplies and no choice but to let the wounded die. They're calling it a collapse but the term doesn't do it justice.
Over a 100 incubator babies are at risk. There are 50.000 pregnant women in Gaza right now, and 5.500 due to give birth this month. Menstruating people are taking pills in order to stop their periods, because they do not have pads or water to maintain hygiene. Surgeons are operating without anesthesia. Water is not reaching Gazans because there's no electricity or fuel for water pumps.
There's no excuse for this. Israel justifies the airstrikes by saying they want to destroy Hamas infrastructure and release the hostages, but they have refused to negotiate for their release. Hamas informed Israel they wanted to release two elderly women without anything in return, and Israel refused. Netanyahu said they wouldn't take their own civilians back because it was "mendacious propaganda." When the hostages were finally released, Netanyahu prohibited the hospital from giving press releases. Yocheved Lifshitz went behind their backs and talked to the press anyway, saying she was treated very well by Hamas, but the government abandoned them. They're being used as straw men. Israel is conditioning the entry of fuel to the release of hostages and yet, according to The Wall Street Journal, when Hamas proposed to exchange 50 hostages for fuel they denied. IDF officials have said they fear the release of more hostages because that might withhold the order to their ground invasion. They do not care as long as they can use the hostages as a pretext for their slaughtering.
There's a turning tide for Palestine in public support. Support for Israel was built through decades of propaganda and we are making a dent into it. Zionists are desperate, holding zoom meetings to promote zionism, but we have to do so much more. We have to shame people in power into supporting the Palestinian cause.
Keep yourself updated and share Palestinian voices, looking to inform yourself from the sources. Palestinians have asked of us only that we share, tweet and post, over and over. Muna El-Kurd said every tweet is like a treasure to them, because their voices are repressed on social media and even on this very app. Make it your action item to share something about the Palestinian plight everyday. Take action. You can participate in boycotts wherever you are in the world, through BDS guidelines. Right now, they are focusing on boycotting (don't be overwhelmed by gigantic boycott lists. Only boycott additional brands if you can):
Carrefour
HP
Puma
Sabra
Sodastream
Ahava cosmetics
Israeli fruits and vegetables
Push for a cultural boycott - pressure your favorite artist to speak out on Palestine and cancel any upcoming performances on occupied territory (Lorde cancelled her gig in Israel because of this. It works.)
If you can, participate in direct action or donate. Palestine Action works to shut down Israeli weapons factories in the UK and USA, and have successfully shut down one of their firms in London. Some of the activists are going on trial and are calling for mobilizing on court.
Call your representatives. The Labour Party in the UK had an emergency meeting after several councilors threatened to resign if they didn't condemn Israeli war crimes. Calling to show your complaints works, even more if you live in a country that funds genocide.

enough reclaiming slurs, I think in 2023 we should reclaim nascar. they banned the confederate flag on all properties & their stance on lgbtq+ isn’t just performative bc in 2013 they fined a driver 10k for using a homophobic slur, condemned indiana in a statement for an anti lgbt law, and partnered w carolina’s lgbt+ chamber of conference in 2022. nascar was founded by anti-cop moonshiners/bootleggers who drove suped-up fords to out-run the police. #yaaascar
HELP
To this day, my favorite argument I ever had was with my Nascar-loving family about how a thin blue line flag on a Nascar is antithetical to the core tenets of Nascar. There is no organization more rooted in ACAB than Nascar. Literally, the only reason it exists was that a bunch of moonshining families had to build cars that could outrun the cops while on supply runs during the Prohibition Era. The goal was to make the car look like a regular vehicle so they could pick up supplies or drop off illegal alcohol without arousing suspicion. But if the cops were on you all you had to do was put the pedal to the metal and that little truck could outrun them with no problems. And of course, families would be in competition over who made the best alcohol, and whose car was fastest. So, they would have races on the weekends. When prohibition was lifted, the races continued. And that is why we have Nascar. It really frustrates me how people look at American car culture and scoff at it. Formula One racing is more exciting and more dynamic to watch, but the history of it is not as interesting: a bunch of rich assholes who made specialized cars for racing. And to this day, it is still a rich man's sport. Whereas Nascar was about a bunch of so-called hicks in the backwoods who used some basic hand tools and trial and error to make a junker into a racecar.
I don't care what nationality you are. US, UK, French, German, anyone in Europe, please do me the grandest of favours and spread this around. Steal the link, make your own post, I don't care; just get it to the eyes of your viewers because if they're Canadian, I need your help.
This petition ends May 26th 2023:
What is this about?
"Whereas:
The world is becoming increasingly hostile to transgender and nonbinary individuals;
Transgender and nonbinary people's rights to live as themselves are being restricted and removed in many places;
This includes the so-called "Western democracies" which have historically been presumed safe;
The United Kingdom is revising their Equality Act to exclude trans people from its protections;
More than a dozen American states have enacted or are considering legislation eliminating or criminalizing gender-affirming care; and
Canada has prided itself on being an inclusive, tolerant, and welcoming society for everyone regardless of gender identity or gender expression.
We, the undersigned, residents of Canada, call upon the House of Commons to extend to transgender and nonbinary people the right to claim asylum in Canada by reason of eliminationist laws in their home countries, whatever country that may be."
It's better to give people an exit plan, and just hope they won't need it, then to do nothing and assume they'll be fine. Help us keep making Canada a positive place for everyone. I hope you'll sign if you're Canadian, and if you're not, I hope you'll help us make some positivity by sharing this around.
For years, experts had been warning Monterey and Santa Cruz County that the levee along the Pajaro River could fail.
It's worse than that. The poor people probably don't even register in the equation at all (and if they did it was probably just on an actuarial level). They reasoned that the real estate value of the buildings was lower than the cost involved in renovating to protect them (the buildings). This isn't fat cat villains twirling their mustaches, this is the operative logic of capital at work. Which is worse!

Here’s the whole video. It’s called “Don’t Be A Sucker” and it’s 17 minutes long.
don’t just scroll past this actually watch it, it’s only 2 minutes long. If you re-recorded this today word for word with modern actors and places, it wouldn’t even look out of place as a PSA
300,000 notes and i can’t find a transcript
Transcript: (sorry for the language!)
Speaker: “I see negroes holding jobs that belong to me! And you! I’ll ask you, if we allow this thing to go on, what’s gonna become of us real Americans!”
Hungarian man with clear foreign accent: “I’ve heard this kind of talk before, but I never expected to hear it in America.”
Young man: “This man seems to know what he’s talking about.“
Speaker: “What are us real Americans gonna do about it? You’ll find it right here in this little pamphlet—the truth about negroes and foreigners! The truth about the Catholic Church! You’ll find…” [audio grows quieter as camera shifts to the onlookers]
Hungarian man: “You believe in that kind of talk?“
Young man: “I dunno, it makes pretty good sense to me.“
Speaker: “And I tell you, friends, we’ll never be able to call this country our own until it’s a country without… without what?“
Other man: “Yeah? Without what?“
Speaker: “Without negroes, without alien foreigners,”—the young man is nodding, following along—“without Catholics, without Freemasons! You know these…“
Young man: “What’s wrong with the Masons, I’m a Mason.” Looks to European man worriedly, “hey, that fellow’s talking about me!“
Huungarian man: “And that makes a difference, doesn’t it.“
Speaker: “These are your enemies! These are the people who are trying to take over our country! Now you know them, you know what they stand for. And it’s up to you and me to fight them!” A bunch of the onlookers in the vicinity wave him off like he’s crazy and turn away, “fight them and destroy them before they destroy us!”
Speaker: “Thank you.“
One man in the now somewhat awkward crowd: “claps“
Young man: *is visibly uncomfortable*
Hungarian man: “Before he said Mason, you were ready to agree with him.”
Young man: “Well yes but, he was talking about… what about those other people?“ *the pair sit down on a park bench*
Hungarian man: “In this country, we have no ‘other people.’ We are American people, of course.“
Young man: “What about you? You aren’t American, are you?“
Hungarian man: “I was born in Hungary. But now, I am an American citizen. And I have seen what this kind of talk can do. I saw it in Berlin.”
Young man: “What were you doing there?“
Hungarian man: “I was a professor at the university. I heard the same words we have heard today. But I was a fool, then. I thought Nazis were crazy people, stupid fanatics. But unfortunately it was not so. You see, they knew that they were not strong enough to conquer a unified country, so they split Germany into small groups. They used prejudice as a practical weapon to cripple the nation.”
A film created for folks in case Martin Niemöller was too subtle.
helping me afford food and meds today not only directly supports your favourite local disabled trans woman (me obviously) but also directly contributes to the misguided and bizarre anger of a random terf asshole in my inbox who in addition to the usual transphobic shit also accused me of not being disabled lmao
so if you can help by either donating or signal boosting and you feel like saying trans rights out of both support and spite you can do that super easily right here :)

I don't know where to begin but I'll try to be brief.
I'm a single mom of 4 kids working my ass off, while recovering from cancer and trying not to die from liver failure brought on by the cancer. I'm working and working but it's not enough. We are working towards 2 additional, maybe even 3, streams of income for the household but there are delays and complications (gears if government nonsense). Relief is in sight but just out of reach. For now.
And now? I'm having to take a leave of absence from work to deal with the liver bullshit. At the end of this my liver will be fixed and I'll no longer be dying, but in the meantime i have procedure after procedure, hospital stay after hospital stay, and maybe a really intense surgery to round it all out. We don't know. My surgeon oncologist is just desperately trying to figure this out as we go.
But that does mean what income flow we did have has come to a stop. For a not yet determined amount of time. The guess is 2 months but we just don't know. And I'm all but living in the cancer ward so for real i cannot work through this.
I need help. I need lots of help. Bills and rent don't hold off just because I'm dying. Or well. Trying not to die. I don't even know what i need. But it's a lot with a household of 5, and the shit finances my ex wife left me.
If you can help, here is my paypal. Every little bit does help! And please ignore the deadname.
And reblogs are appreciated!
Oh, Max. I’m so sorry things keep escalating like this. But I’m so hopeful they’ll finally solve all this for you. Please take care.
Just in case
I’m actually going to reblog a thing just because this is really important.
As someone who has epilepsy and used to have several grand mal seizures a day, I’d also like to add that “offer help” can range anywhere from keeping the person calm to explaining to them where they are and what they were doing to even just telling them they should sit and rest for a while longer (lack or coordination is common, and it can be hard to walk straight or see clearly).
It’s okay for them to take up to a half hour to fully regain their bearings and sort out what they were doing prior to the seizure. Just answer any questions calmly and be there for support.
If they come around and you start to panic or shake them or ask them what the heck is wrong with them they are going to freak out and panic too.
I cannot stress it enough that this is bad.
If someone has a seizure and they come out of it, please. please stay calm. They are likely disoriented and confused, even if it’s only for a minute or two, and you don’t want them panicking on top of that because they can have another seizure as a result.
IMPORTANT
IMPORTANT because last year a kid in my class had a seizure, none of us even knew he was at risk for them either so just cause you don’t think you know anyone doesn’t mean you don’t
stay safe
I have to stress how important it is to time a seizure. If it lasts more than a few minutes, call an ambulance.
DO NOT CALL THE POLICE. I’m dead fucking serious. I had a grand mal in public once and the POLICE were called and imagine coming out of the seizure, feeling like you got smacked in the head with a sack full of bricks, confused, dazed, in desperate need of some sugar to boost low blood pressure and some DIPSHIT has called the police and I was being threatened with being ‘drunk and disorderly’. It took a phone call to my doctors office to get them to back off. The police cannot properly deal with sick people.
Offer help can be:
assuring person where they are/what time it is
getting them something to drink if they can; seizure burns so much energy and does cause a blood pressure drop
getting them safely to transport or a carer
getting them some dignity like a blanket/towel [loosing control of your bladder and bowels is fucking horrifying]
ensuring they have a way to get home. Someone who has just had a seizure should NEVER DRIVE straight after
calling emergency services if you notice any of these symptoms because they may have stroked out.
Why you shouldn’t put anything in someone’s mouth: they will choke. Yes, they may bite their tongue but I can assure you it’s less traumatic than cracking your jaw on someone’s greasy wallet or choking on a spoon.
DO NOT HOLD ANYONE DOWN. Example: someone pinned my right shoulder mid-seizure a few years back and how I have a permanently displaced and clicking shoulder. Let the person flail around, those muscles are out of control and restraining them does cause more damage to the patient and you.

WHAT THE ENTIRE FUCK
The company isn’t boasting about using cheap/unpaid/forced penal labor.
It’s a project offering voluntary employment opportunities with fair trade wages to incarcerated women, allowing them to amass decent savings and avoid recidivism (i.e., having to return to prostitution, drug muling, and the other poverty-related crimes as soon as their sentences are up, because they’re right back in poverty where they started).
No, it’s not the all-or-nothing Tumblr justice solution™ of magically abolishing the PIC overnight, but it’s a significant improvement over the literal slave labor most corporations employ, while raking in the entirety of a prisoner’s surplus and setting them up for recidivism.
Y'all….this isn’t slave labor the way the vast majority of prusin labor is. They have a 30 hour work week and pay their employees a LIVING WAGE. Also the company was founded after talking to women in prison about their lives and needs
Notice how the original post has several screenshots from the company website. If OP took them, they cherry-picked information to try to trick and outrage you. If they copied them from elsewhere, they fell victim to someone else who tried to trick and outrage them.
ANY TIME YOU SEE SOMETHING ON SOCIAL MEDIA THAT OUTRAGES YOU, YOU SHOULD GOOGLE IT. That should be your first move. The world would be a much better place if everyone had the habit of doing a quick google when they see a post that sparks outrage on social media.

When I went a few years ago, they were located in what was presumably supposed to be space for a parking lot security office. The rooms' walls were made of fiberboard and the lights were dimmed for what I can only assume was to save on power. There are just short of a million people on this island, and despite being one of the most consistently progressive states with a repeatedly pro-queer attitude, many of us depend on the Lavender Clinic because we have nowhere else to go. Please consider throwing a few bucks their way – it's not like we can just drive somewhere else to get care.
this is an immediate need, as well, in case anyone doesn't click through to the link. they share that they're at risk of closing within weeks/months without adequate funding. it's all well and good to decry transphobes, but we need to do what we can to defend and improve the lives of trans people. if you can send anything, please do.
