500 FOLLOWER EVENT: CONFESSIONS OF A WRITING FREAK

It’s finally here! First off, I would like to thank you guys so much for the support! I cannot believe we made it to 500, and that some of you have stuck with me for so long! So thanks to all my followers - old and new - and this event is all for you!

I said once on here that my username is based off an old wix blog I had years ago - Confessions of a Writing Freak - and so this event is based on this name! It’s a way for you guys to get to know a little about me (and hopefully I get to know a bit about you too), while also writing a ton of fic! So here’s how it’s gonna work!

Following the rules here are 20 “confessions”, or questions that are somehow related to a confession of sorts. As I go through the list, I’ll answer the question myself, and then write a fic based on the confession, with a character of your choice! And hopefully, the confession can spark some conversation - I’d love to hear your answers to some of the questions here too!

All requests should be sent in the form of asks to my inbox - after a prompt is requested, I will be crossing it out, and having them all in one place will make it easier to find which requests came first!

All requests contain two things - a prompt number corresponding to the confession you would like to request and a character you would like to be in the fic

All fics will be character x reader 

Reader will be gender neutral. Hi! :) Thank you for checking in! I’m alright, just a lot busier than I’d anticipated since moving on campus. I thought after awhile I’d get used to it, but with our new term system, classes are moving too quickly and my second term of classes hit me hard (it’s been three days haha). I’m still here though, and I’m not going anywhere, though things will probably continue to be slow and I’ll likely be pretty inactive when it comes to posting like I am now. 15. Do you believe in soulmates?

Personally, I think that if you go into a relationship believing it’s “meant to be” or fated or completely out of your control and in the universe’s, then you won’t take responsibility when things go wrong. I think it’s dangerous to believe that even the most perfect relationships don’t require work, effort, compromises, that if you don’t fight to keep your relationship alive, you can lean back on the universe to help you. That being said, I do believe there are those who may perfectly compliment each other, friends, family, or significant others, and I believe that there are some people that were meant to come into your life when they do. I just believe that if you want to keep them in your life, you have to fight for them too :)

It had been about a half hour since you decided to break through the uncomfortable silence surrounding you and your childhood friend, Kyoya, as you lounge in his room, working on classwork for the next day, or, in your case, staring at the ceiling dejectedly waiting for your friend to start paying attention to you. 

You didn’t mind the silence, not usually, but the growing darkness as the sun sinks beneath the neighboring houses has you all sentimental, and voicing your thoughts in the quiet seems like the only option. 

It wasn’t uncommon to find you and Kyoya together, him silently typing away on his laptop, and you seemingly talking to yourself, and you had long given up on the notion that your classmates would think you had any semblance of sanity left. 

That’s how it is now, the quiet clicking of his keyboard the only thing interrupting your soft words, and even though you desperately wish to hear your friend’s voice above it all, all he grants you is his presence as usual, and the comfort that at least he’s there, and, hopefully, listening. 

You don’t know how to break through his silence - even after nearly your entire lives knowing one another, you’re at a loss. But there’s something there, nagging at the back of your mind, that you’ve been wanting to discuss forever, perhaps much longer than you’ve even been made aware of it, and in the midnight haze, you find yourself blurting out the words before thinking. 

“Do you believe in soulmates?”

The quiet clicking stops, and for the first time all night, you’re met with real silence. 

You sit up immediately in his bed, shocked at his actual physical reaction to your words, the first time he’s seemed to acknowledge them at all. Your eyes are widened as you gaze intensely at him sitting across from you at his desk, searching his face for any indication of what he’s thinking.

“Soulmates?” he says, rather quietly, and you find yourself letting out a breath you hadn’t known you had been holding in. 

“I’m not sure why I asked,” you say, borderline frantic as you struggle to explain your complex and confusing thought process, “I was just thinking-”

“Because of us,” he says with certainty, and the beginnings of a smile work their way onto your face. 

Because of you, because when you couldn’t find the words, he was there, explaining your thoughts perfectly. You were comfortable in silence, and in the loud, chaotic atmosphere of the real world, as long as you were in each other’s presence. Because you couldn’t imagine a life without him, and even when you didn’t know what he was thinking, there wasn’t a day you didn’t want to try and figure it out. 

You want to say it all, but when Kyoya looks at you, away from his work and into your eyes, you can read his face for once, and it says everything. 

You’re holding his gaze, and you desperately want to keep it, so you look at him thoughtfully, chewing your bottom lip, and say, “I just feel like this matters.” You gesture between the two of you, and that smile finally works its way onto your face. “To our lives, to the universe, I’m not sure, but don’t you think it matters?”

Kyoya’s eyes are thoughtful, and you’re waiting on the edge of your seat for his response. You’re grateful for even this tiny moment when you get to pick his brain, see inside the wonderful mind of your best friend, who often keeps the most important parts of himself locked away. 

“I don’t believe in soulmates,” he says finally, but you urge him on with your curious gaze. You know there’s more to his pessimistic attitude, and you’re patiently waiting for him to share all of it. “I don’t care what the universe wants of me, or what its plans are. None of that matters. What matters is you,” he says, and your heart skips a beat as he points to you, and then back to himself, “and me, and I’m never letting that go.”

You don’t know how to answer him, but the silence that follows isn’t uncomfortable, it’s reassuring, and you feel as if you’re sighing in unison, knowing your thoughts align with one another. 

Even as Kyoya returns to his work, softly clicking away at his keyboard, you don’t mind, especially when he moves his station over to his bed beside you, just close enough that your knees are touching and you’re in the perfect position to rest your head on his shoulder. 

The silence is filled by the tapping of his keys and your soft voice in Kyoya’s ear as you watch his work, and your newfound knowledge that, universe be damned, you were never letting this go.

5. Do you want kids?

If I’m being quite honest, not really. The idea of settling down scares me a lot. And personally, I’ve never been super set on having my own children - as a bisexual female, that option may not always be possible for me, and I’m totally okay with that! I’m also not super good with children haha. But I have considered waiting until I was older (secure in my career, and most of all, actually ready) and then fostering older children - preteens/teens. I’m also not 100% opposed to kids either, just not in my plan at the moment :) Give me a good iida fic where he dresses up as Santa to entertain your kids, and I might just change my mind (I am trying so hard to find the fic but I can’t 😩)

warning: brief brief mentions of child neglect and alcoholism

“His name is Hiroto, and he’s six,” you say, looking up slowly at Keigo, whose amber eyes were looking at you attentively, missing any of their usual distracted glint or wandering nature. He was focused on you entirely, his body completely still as you continued to explain the email you were reading in front of you. 

Nearly shaking, and wondering how he could be so calm (especially when he was normally all over the place), your eyes returned to the screen in front of you, where you were reading the message you had been waiting for for months. 

“It says we can meet him tomorrow, Kei,” you breathe, and his stillness is gone immediately; he’s at your side in an instant, knees knocking together as he frantically reads the email over your shoulder. 

You’re not sure when it happened, but your hands are clasped together on his lap, and he’s rubbing comforting, yet excited, circles on the back of your thumb. 

“His mother died in childbirth, and his dad was an alcoholic,” you say, looking at Keigo thoughtfully. His eyes are still scanning the email, perhaps to see if it was some kind of joke. “Neglected and found on his own. It’s going to be extremely difficult to take him in, probably why he’s been in the system for over a year now.” The nerves are getting to you, but you know what you want the winged hero to say, and when he turns to look at you in surprise, you know he’s going to say it. 

“I don’t care,” he says immediately, searching your face for answers himself. You find yourself nodding subconsciously, tears pooling in your eyes. He grabs your other hand, and you feel like you’re holding on for your life. “You’re ready for this, right?” he asks, somewhat frantically, desperate for your answer to match his. But once you started nodding, you couldn’t stop, and you found yourself smiling as his hands found your face, holding you close and wiping away the stray tears. “We’re ready for this?”

“You know we are,” you choke out, pushing the computer from your lap to the table next to the couch, finally able to throw your arms around Keigo, your head buried snugly in his chest. “We’ve been ready for so long,” you sigh, and you can feel his grin against your hair. 

You’re suddenly falling forward onto the couch, held tightly by Keigo of course, as he lets out a celebratory cheer. You’re giggling together as you realize what this means, that the family you have waited for since meeting one another was finally possible. You smiled wider than you remembered smiling before into his shirt as you lay on top of him, your spirits lifted to the skies.

“I want to meet him so bad,” you mumble into Keigo’s chest. He’s tangling his fingers in your hair, and you shift upwards to nuzzle your nose against his cheek. You give his cheek a small peck, and he turns to face you, his smile lighting up his face.

“I feel like I already know him,” he answers, and you know there’s more weight to those words than he’s letting on. You grab his hand again, the one wrapped around your waist, and hold it to your chest. 

“He’s going to be a perfect addition to this family.”

“He already is.”

11. What’s your favorite sunset memory?

Where I live, I don’t get the chance to really see the sunset very often, so many of my memories associated with sunsets involve travel of some type. And of all of the sunsets I’ve ever seen in my life, I don’t think any can compare to a sunset in the middle of nowhere, out in the country, where the clouds are tumbling over each other in the strangest purple and pink colors. I still remember I was visiting some family, and my cousins and I were wearing pajamas already, and we just pulled over on the side of the road to get out and look at it. I’ve always kind of resented where my family came from, always wanting to be somewhere full of people, stories, and energy, but I remember in that moment so clearly loving the way the sky was so full even as the town around us felt so empty.

“Where are you taking me?”

You ignored the whine behind you as you tugged your boyfriend’s hand further up the neverending stairway. After a long day of training and classes, you knew he was likely as sore as you were, each step straining your weakened muscles, but you pushed forwards, or rather, upwards, determined on reaching your destination. 

You knew that you and Todoroki would likely miss dinner for this, but you also knew that after a week packed with classes and extra training, you would happily settle for late night snacks in the common room if it meant getting to spend the evening with your boyfriend. As he squeezed your hand slightly and shot a small smile of his own in your direction as you turned a corner of the stairway, you knew that he felt the same way. 

After what seemed like an eternity, you reached the top, and didn’t hesitate to slam the final door open as you stepped out, Todoroki in tow, letting the cool chill of the fall air wash over you. 

The sun was still up, casting a golden glow on the sky around you, but that didn’t change the breathtaking view you were faced with, overlooking the entire city from the quiet perch on the empty dorm roof. 

“Wow,” Todoroki breathed, and you giggled at his awestruck expression, tugging him closer to the edge of the building, where there was a perfect spot to sit and take in the view. 

“This is nothing,” you assured him, “Just wait until the sun sets.”

It was easy to forget the rumble in your stomachs from putting off dinner, the tension in your muscles aggravated by the run up the stairs. It was completely relaxing, away from the others, away from what seemed like the rest of the world, waiting patiently as the sun slowly sank in front of you.

After sharing your experiences from the day (which were nearly the same), you found yourself discussing everything from your deepest fears to what you were going to name your future pets. 

“The sun sets every day,” you said thoughtfully, glancing at where the golden sun turned redder with each centimeter it sunk in the sky, “and yet, when you do find the time to watch it, it feels so surreal, so special, like a moment stuck in time. Even though it happens all the time.” You laughed a bit, shifting as you felt Todoroki’s eyes on you. 

“I don’t think I’ve ever taken the time to watch the sun set,” he said, and you met his eyes, a soft smile finding its way upon your face. 

“Well I’m glad I get to share this memory with you,” you say, grinning, as you turned back to the sunset, leaning your head on his shoulder. His arm slowly found its way around your shoulders.

As you leaned further into Todoroki, his hair tickling the side of your face, you suddenly couldn’t remember another time you’d spent staring at the sun slowly sinking beneath the skyline either. Even if you did, you knew none of them could compare to now, this moment where everything was so quiet to make room for the unbelievably full sky in front of you.

being todoroki’s best friend came with its fair share of difficulties

especially since you had known him since you were in diapers, and had been a part of every rocky event that shaped the course of his complicated familial relationships, his dealings with trauma, and the stubbornness and emotional instability that came with being a teenager

sometimes you wondered how your friendship lasted so long, but then you spent just a moment around the boy, and you fell back into the comfortable rhythm you shared

for you, todoroki was home

he was playing on the playground, falling asleep way past your bedtime beneath the starlights decorating your ceiling

for him, you were what it felt like to be understood, especially when his stoic demeanor and “blank” face led him to be considered the “dark and mysterious” resident bad boy, who was more likely to be admired and avoided rather than considered a real person with very real feelings

you could see past the stoic expressions in a heartbeat, and knew where to draw the line between a bad day at school and nearing a mental breakdown with memories from his past flooding his senses

you saw the moment his eyes withdrew, the moment he slipped out of the world around him and into one he’s constructed in his mind out of walls and barricades to keep everyone else out

you were the only one allowed a key to the door of that world, and only because you’d spent years constructing it yourself

you had become so reliant on each other in so many ways, but at this point, it barely registered

you shared a world, an atmosphere, a universe

you shared blankets, clothes, and dorm rooms too

half of your friendship is simply being there, because you’ve gone on so long you’re fully comfortable sitting in silence on the floor of his dorm room all afternoon, reading to yourself while he does his homework

you’ve snuck yourself out of his dorm after accidentally dozing off too many mornings to count

the rest of class 1-a is convinced you’re dating, or at least...you know....

todoroki can’t make fun of you, though, because we all know he’s falling asleep on your shoulder at every occasion you have a moment’s break

we also know he’s doing it when you’re busy too, cause this boi can sleep through anything

you share music the most, because you love lying next to him, your heads barely touching, as you share a world beyond your own, forced to think and feel the same as the musicians mold your mind and soul

so it’s not surprising at all to todoroki when you’re pounding on his door frantically at 1 am, your phone clutched in your hand as you shove an earbud in his face

he blinks the sleep out of his eyes as you invite yourself in, dragging him to sit beside you on his bed

“listen to this song,” you say, completely serious, with wide, intense eyes as you hold the earbud out to him, more gently this time

“o-okay,” he says, confused but not surprised 

you close your eyes as the song you spent the whole night falling in love with begins to play in your ear

I want to live, where soul meets body, and let the sun wrap its arms around me

as the song softly finishes, a melody softly soaring through my atmosphere, you open your eyes slowly, tears staining your cheeks as you look expectantly at your friend

his eyes are closed, in what you initially thought was focus, or, as in your case, peace and emotional vulnerability

but when they didn’t open, even as you tugged your headphones back, you realized it was, in fact, in sleep

angry you just shared what you thought was an emotional moment with an unconscious idiot, you slapped the boy awake, pouting as he looked at you in accusation 

“you were supposed to be listening,” you said, fuming

todoroki at least has the decency to look sheepish, but he doesn’t apologize, instead opting for a “it’s after one in the morning”

if he thought looks could kill before…

instead of yelling (like you want to), you shove the earbud (a bit harshly) back in his ear as you cue the song again

this time, you leave your eyes open, locking onto todoroki’s with a glare

you play the song, and it softly begins again, and this time, you’re watching his eyes closely to see his reaction (and to be sure there is one at all)

And I do believe it’s true, that there are roads left in both of our shoes

But if the silence takes you then I hope it takes me too

you see something flash in his eyes at that line, though you’re not sure if it’s your own tears returning once more as the beautiful words wash over you for the millionth time tonight

So brown eyes I’ll hold you near, cause you’re the only song I want to hear

todoroki tilts his head just slightly to the side, and you’re suddenly bombarded with the memory of his soft locks tickling your temple as you stare up at the stars, tiny fingers interlocked like your mom taught you to do when crossing the street

cause everything with todoroki felt like that, like crossing the street, like following your own roads that always intersected, were one and the same

a melody softly soaring through my atmosphere

and as the musician’s voice pierced your eardrums, you were met with the sounds of a thousand artists before him, the sounds of countless nights listening with your best friend, the sound of his voice as he counted down the numbers before hide and seek, the melodic sound of his voice as he woke you early after a night spent crashing on his floor

a melody softly soaring through my atmosphere

you didn’t realize the song was over until todoroki touched your face, and you let out a breath you hadn’t known you had been holding in

there’s a teasing smile on his face, but something in his eyes tells you the words changed him like they changed you

“just checking to make sure you didn’t fall asleep,” he says, before letting out a yawn, and you’re suddenly jolted back into reality, where you sat, on your best friend’s bed, in the middle of the night, sharing music like you always did

you’re up in a second, pulling your headphones to yourself frantically, blushing up a storm as you realize just what you had been thinking

“I have to go,” you stammer, and you’re running out of there stumbling as tears of embarrassment threaten to spill from your eyes

you make it all the way back to your dorm before you cry real tears, confused and upset by the way your best friend was making you feel

but jokes on you if you think you’re going to get away with leaving like that

you know todoroki like the back of your hand, but he knows you just the same, and when you wake the next morning, you know avoiding him is out of the question

he finds you quickly in the halls of the dorms, and you just let out a sigh as you greet him

“I really liked that song,” he says softly, slow to start the conversation you know is coming

so you sigh again, and look away, sheepish, a feeling completely alien to you around your closest friend flooding your veins

“I spent all night listening to that song alone,” you say, wringing your hands together, “thinking about what it would feel like to feel that way about a person, to know someone who cleanses you and makes you whole and makes your soul a part of you again”

“and then I heard it again while I was looking at your eyes, and I realized I already had that”

“it just scared me, that’s all, cause I’d never looked at you that way before”

he was silent through your confession, and you were terrified to look at him, knowing you’d know the second you saw him what he was thinking, and afraid you wouldn’t like what it was

“shou?” you finally ask, your voice breaking as you chance a glance in his direction

but you find his eyes gazing at you softly, a look you recognize as understanding on his face

he reaches for you, and you let him pull you in, your fingers intertwining as you’re brought in close

his free hand cups your cheek, and you lean into him, your lips brushing as you finally embrace

it’s like a sigh, a finally, and you feel like you’re breathing in air after being underwater for so long

you part so soon, and your foreheads are resting on one another, the familiar feeling of his soft hair tickling your skin making you giggle softly

you squeeze his hand, your eyes fluttering open until you’re gazing into his eyes, your noses brushing affectionately

at first, bakugou can’t believe the call he gets, after he’s finished his training for the day, from your internship, telling him to come to the hospital immediately

it just cannot possibly be true, there’s no way you’re hurt, no way you’re in danger

that can’t be how the world works, no, bakugou knows it’s not the way your world has always worked

you were a fact of the universe, his friend, his soulmate, his love

you had always been there, and would always be there, and nothing on earth could change that; it was written in the facts of the universe

that didn’t stop him, though, from running all the way there

as he sprints through the halls, telling himself it can’t be true, denying the facts waiting for him beyond the door of your hospital room, he feels his heart race in anticipation

and when he opens the door, to be met with your broken body, asleep on the bed, his view of the universe he’d come to rely on shatters in an instant

he rushes to your side, and cradles your fragile hand

you’re covered in bandages, bruises dotting the exposed parts of your skin, and there’s a hitch in your breath

but asleep, you’re peaceful, and appear to be content in your dreams

he sees everything he’s seen his whole life in your peaceful face, the rising and falling of your chest

the way you were always there for him, when others could never tell what was wrong, the way you challenged him in so many ways, emotionally, and in battle when you trained

how no matter how hard you unleashed your power against him, or him on you, you were by his side when it was over, doting on his bruises and falling asleep in his arms

comforting him from nightmares, celebrating when he made it into his dream school, and when he made it, being right by his side yourself

you were his whole life, and more, you were your own person - brilliant and kind and stubborn

he was proud of you in every way, and he loved you in every way

and he could not for the life of him understand how the universe could hurt you in such a way

you were the last person to deserve this hospital bed, bakugou knew at least that much, and so as he gripped your hand and tried his best to calm the sobs that raked through his body, he said a silent screw you to the universe

but then you open your eyes, and he feels you reaching towards him

you smile when you see him, and suddenly the cuts and bruises disappear on your body, and you’re five again, explaining to him the rules of hide and seek

you’re eleven, chasing after him on the way home from school

you’re fourteen, and you’re on his front porch, jumping up and down with excitement as he shows you his letter of acceptance from UA. you throw your arms around him as a congratulations, celebrating his victory with your own letter tucked in your back pocket

you’re in front of him, smiling and gripping his hand tightly

his sobs stop, and he finds an inevitable smile making its way onto his face

cause whatever he believes now about the universe, you and him, this and now, with your hands tightly grasped together, that was a truth that would never end
