(also sorry if there are mistakes, I didnāt really read it :/)
āāāāāā
You huffed as you opened the door to the roof of the StarCourt Mall. When you become in contact with the sun, you squint your eyes and pull your hand infront of your face.
āYo! Henderson!ā Dustin turns to face you, the binoculars still glued to his face. You stifle a laugh. āI got your note! What do you want?ā You yelled to him. You held up the note he had left you that morning at your shop on the counter.
Meet me at the roof. Come alone - Dustin
āShhh!ā He shushes you quickly. You walk closer to him. He is kneeled on the floor. He pulls you to the floor by your forearm. You fall to the floor with a plop. You hiss at him.
āWhat the hell!?ā You exclaim loudly. He shushes you again, pointing to something down below. You look. Evil Russianās. āOhā you whisper out, getting into a comfortable position on the ground. You lean closer to Dustin, āWhy are we here?ā
He shrugs innocently, āSpying on Evil Russianāsā You nod, moving away, āRight, Right.ā Itās silent. You speak up again, āThat still doesnāt explain why Iām hereā You point to yourself.
Dustin sighs, removing the binoculars from his eyes and placing them on the floor next to him. āI have a bone to pick with youā he looks to you. You snicker, leaning over to grab the binoculars. He lets you, youāre suprised. You put them up to your face. āYeah? Like what?ā You laugh breathlessly.
āDo you like Steve?ā His questing catches you off - guard. You peel your eyes away from the binoculars quickly. āWhat?ā You ask.
Youāre not really sure if youād heard him correctly. You were positive that you were good at hiding your feelings but apparently not. First Sarah knew and now Dustin. God probably Steve knew himself! Maybe you can play it off. Say you didnāt like him.
āYou heard me. Do you like Steve?ā Dustin repeated himself. You scoffed, shaking your head. You put the binoculars up to your face agin. āNow why would you think that?ā You chuckled wearily.
Dustin, clearly annoyed, snatched the binoculars from your grip, forcing you to look at him. āDonāt act dumb (y/n)! I saw how sad you looked when you saw him and Robin holding hands!ā
You sighed deeply, pinching the bridge of your nose with your thumb and pointer finger. God, he saw that! You were in deep shit now. You didnāt know why but you felt the urge to tell Dustin the truth. You two had grown closer over the pass couple of days. He was probably one of the only people you could trust. So you did. You told him the truth.
āOk! So what if I did?ā You exclaimed. Dustin fist pumped the air, āYes! I knew it!.ā You rolled your eyes at him, putting your head in your hands. āItās that freaking obvious, huh?ā You mumbled in your palm.
āYea. The way you look at him, it makes me believe love is realā Dustin said. You looked up at him quickly, shaking your head with a laugh. āWoah, Woah, Woahā you let out a shaky laugh, āI donāt love himā you objected.
Dustin sighs again, bringing the binoculars back to his face. āYea, whatever you say (y/n).ā You laugh at him again. āSeriously I donāt.ā Dustin doesnāt look at you, letting out an unsure hum and mumbling, āsure you donāt.ā
Itās silent again. You pull your knees to your chest, and let out a stressful sigh. You look at Dustin again. āYou know you canāt tell anyone about this, right?ā Dustin, eyes still in the binoculars, nods. āAnd I mean anyone. Not your friends. Not Robin. And definitely not Steveā.
He finally takes the binoculars off. āI wonāt, I wonātā You nod greatfully at him. Your pinkie raises in the air before him. āPinkie Promise?ā He looked to you in disbelief before scoffing, āSeriously (y/n)?.ā
You shrugg innocently, pursing your lips. āWell if you meant it, you would pinkie promiseā you start to pull your pinkie away. He groans in annoyance, āFine! Fine!ā
You smirk in victory. His pinkie twist around yours, and he stares you dead in the eyes. He holds up his other hand, showing his uncrossed fingers. āI swear, I will not tell a single soul.ā
You smile pulling your pinkie away, āGood.ā
In the two hours that follow, you and Dustin had made it to Scoops to tell Robin and Steve the stuff you say the Russians doing with the key cards.
āThat keycard opens the door, but unfortunately, the Russian with this keycard also has a massive gun.ā Dustin explained, leaning against the wall. Steve and Robin stood across from each other at the small blue and white table. You stood next to Dustin, nodding along to what he explained.
āWhateverās in this room, whateverās in those boxes, they really donāt want anybody finding itā you concluded. Steve played with his white sailors hat by flipping it along his finger whilst Robin played with an ice cream scooper. āBut thereās gotta be a way inā Robin sighed, leaning back in her seat in defeat.
Steve throws his hat on the table, āWell, you know...ā he then leans his elbows on the table, eyeing all three of you. āI could just take him outā Steve shrugged.
Your eyes squinted and you almost scoffed. āTake who out?ā Robin asked with wide eyes. Steve shrugged again, as if it was no big deal. āThe Russian Gaurd. What? I sneak up behind him, I knock him out and I take his keycard. Itās easy.ā
āDid you not hear the part about the massive gun?ā Dustin points out bluntly. You chuckle in your fist, looking between both boys humorously. Steve glanced to you before looking back to Dustin. āYes, Dustin, I didā Steve spoke back in a āmatter of fact toneā. āAnd thatās why I would be sneaking.ā Steve moves his pointer and middle finger across the table, demonstrating a sneaking motion.
Dustin crosses his arms, āWell, please, tell me this, and be honest, have you ever actually...won a fight?ā Dustin seemed to challenge. At that comment, you started laughing into your palm. Steve shot you a look again, but to his dismay you continued to laugh.
Steve butts in, āOkay, that was one time,ā Dustin quickly cut him off, ātwice. Johnathan. Year prior?ā
Ah, you had remembered that day. You had heard that Johnathan Byers has beat the shit out of Steve Harringtonās face. It was amusing really. The geeky camera guy beating up the popular king of the school. Now that was one for the books. You had remembered being so proud of him, but you never had the chance to tell him.
āListen, that doesnāt countā he begins but you tilt your head to the side letting out a sound of disagreement. āWhy wouldnāt it count? Because it looks like he beat the shit out of youā Dustin cut in again. You chuckled into your palm again. Robin looked between the three of you in amusement. Suddenly, her eyes took gaze open a object in the far corner. Her face falls into a blank stare. She then smiled knowingly.
āThat just might workā Robin mumbled. Suddenly she escaped through the back, walking to the front of the shop. Her hand dug in the tip jar, scooping the money from inside. You, Steve, and Dustin followed.
āHey, Robin! What, what are you doing?ā Steve asked. Robin turned around, slowly walking out of the ice cream parlor. āI need cashā she shrugged.
āWell, half of thats mine. Where you goin?ā Steve projected back. āTo find us a way into that room, a safe way. And, in the meantime, sling ice cream, behave, and donāt get beat up. Iāll be back in a jiffā She salutes the three of you before bolting away.
You look to Dustin, who has one of the ice cream scooperās in his mouth, eating ice cream from the top. Steve glances at him before snatching it away. āOh, Dude!ā He twirls the scooper before placing it in one of his apron pockets. āCome on man, not my scooper.ā
You and Dustin stayed in the back of Scoops, waiting for Robin to return. Steve did as he was told, slinging ice cream in the front. You peeked at him through the glass of the sliding windows. A line was forming rapidly, and you watched as Steve frantically moved around, trying to get the orders out quickly.
āShould we help him?ā You asked Dustin, who was pacing around the room. You were suprised you havenāt yelled at him to stop yet. He was also quiet, which wasnāt like him. āNot right now, (y/n). Iām sure Steve can handle it.ā
You look at Steve again. While rushing to get the whip cream, you watch Steve spill an order of a strawberry milkshake. It falls to the floor, and he bends down to start cleaning it. You indistinctively hear him repeatedly apologizing to the customer.
You quickly ran to the other side of the room, grabbing a spare Scoops Ahoy sailerās hat and an apron. You put the hat on your head, and tie the apron around your waist tightly.
Dustin furrows his eyebrows at you, āUh, what are you doing?ā. You see one of the blue Scoops Ahoy vests and put it on, covering your work maroon shirt. It wasnāt the complete Scoops Ahoy uniform, but it would have to do. āIām gonna go out there!ā
āOooo, you gonna make your move?ā Dustin wiggles his eyebrows to at you. You give him a dumbfounded look, āNo, im gonna help with the shit ton of orders that are piling inā. You rush to the door, ready to open it. āSure you are (y/n)ā Dustin teased sarcastically. You give him a dirty look, before pushing the doors open.
Steve, who was still on his knees, cleaning up the splattered pink and red milkshake, turned back to look at you. He smiled instantly, the smile becoming bigger when he say you wearing some of Scoops uniform. ā(y/n)? What, what are you doing?ā
You smirked, āHelping your ass.ā You then stepped over the mess, and towards the counter, where a line of costumers were waiting.
āAhoy!ā You greeted. ā What can I get you guys?ā You asked enthusiastically, in the all to familiar Scoops Ahoy Sailor character. Steve grinned up at you from the ground ever so often. To his astonishisment, you in that uniform was doing something for him. When you two had officially met, you would talk to each other every so often, and Steve had started taking a liking to you, but only in a friendly way. But looking at you now, heās not sure what he felt. All he knew was that you looked really cute in that sailors hat.
When Steve has finally finished cleaning the milkshake, you two moved around quickly, the orders going out quick and easy. And before you too knew it, the customers slowed down and then there was none left.
You leaned against the counter, your upper arm aching from scooping so much ice cream. Steve leaned next to you, whipping his hand with a blue washcloth. You winced, moving your arm in a circular motion. āGod, Iāve never scooped so much ice cream in my life. My arm hurts like hellā you chuckled.
Steve chuckled too and it was like music to your ears. āYea, I was like that the first week too. But, ya know? You get used to itā he shrugged. āHowever itās definitely not worth the 3 dollars I get an hour.ā You both laughed at his comment.
When the laughing died down, you hid your smile in your hand. Steve stared at you, the corners of his lips turned up slightly. His eyes trailed along your features. Every crease, every eyelash, every freckle. You were beautiful. Your cheeks wore a light shade of pink, and he wanted nothing more then to hold and kiss them. His eyes trailed to your hair. It was styled down, the hair going along your shoulder and back. It looked so soft and god did he want to touch it. Jesus, was he smitten.
You noticed his staring, removing your hand from your face. You narrowed your eyes and pursed your lips at him. āWhat?ā You giggled out.
Steve chuckled awkwardly, he smiled brightly looking away. āSorryā he played with his hands, a thing you often saw him do when he was nervous. His gaze was upon you again, āYou just look so damn cute in the sailors hat.ā
Your cheeks raged pink. Now it was your turn to look away. The corners of your mouth turned up and soon your pearly whites shown. Steveās fingers reached out, grazing yourās that were rested comfortably along the table that you leaned on. He didnāt hold your hand, no, just his fingers lightly drawing patterns along the front and fingers. You wanted to hold his hand, and you could tell he did too.
Your eyes meet his again. He looked to your lips and then back to your eyes. Your breath seemed to get caught in your throat. Did he want to kiss you? No. He liked Robin. They were holding hands. He had to like her. But the way he looked at you. Could he like you?
Thoughts and possibilities flooded your mind. His face got closer, closer, so close.
āGuys! I got it!ā A cheery voice broke you two apart. Steve jolted away quickly. and your head whipped around to the voice. It was Robin. She was holding, a map? She stopped though, watching both you and Steveās flustered pink faces. Her eyebrows furrowed, āYou two alright?ā
Steve nodded frantically, running a hand along the back of his neck. āYea, yea, weāre uh...fineā Steve looks to you. You give a convincing nod Robins way. āYea, Great!ā You agree with Steve.
āOkay...anywayā She holds up the map further, showing you two the map she had found. āI got it!ā She repeated again. Steveās eyes narrowed, āAnd what is that exactly?ā
In the back of Scoops, Robin laid out the map on the table. You, Steve, and Dustin hovered over it. āIt is fascinating what 20 bucks will get you at the County Recorders Officeā. She flattens the map out, giving each of you her best grin, āStarCourt Mall. The complete blueprintāsā
Dustin smiles up at her, āNot bad.ā You agree with him. The map seemed to show all of the Mall. You were impressed. āSo, this is us, Scoopsā Robin points to a small area near the bottom of the map. You all lean in closer to look. You smile as you see the store you worked at a short way from Scoops.
She points further up the map, āAnd this is where we want to get.ā Your eyebrows furrow, your eyes trailing the map frantically. āHow?ā You ask breathlessly. Steve looks at you before nodding back down at the map. āYeah. I mean, I donāt really see a way inā he shrugged his hunched shoulders.
āThereās notā Robin points out quickly. By this point, you and Steve are extremely confused. Suddenly Robin rips the map off, under it is another one. āIf youāre talking exclusively about doors.ā
Dustin gets it, āAir ductsā he says in astonishment. Robin smiles at the kid, āExactly.ā She rushes over to the whiteboard on the other side of the room. āTurns out, this secret room needs air just like any old room.ā The three of your eyes watch Robin as she grabs a marker from the whiteboard. āThese air ductsā She circles one of the air ducts on the top with the red marker. āLead all the wayā she drags the marker downward. āHereā She goes down to the bottom, circling the air duct of Scoops.
You, Dustin and Steve look to the small vent. Robin closes the marker with a click.
You stand beside the ladder as Steve unscrews the vent, a screwdriver between his teeth. He hands it to you, to which you then place on the floor. āFlashlightā his voice mumbled against the tool. Dustin hands it to him. They trade, the screwdriver for the flashlight. You hold onto one of the legs of the ladder, making sure Steve doesnāt fall. You could already see that incident taking place.
He flashes the light into the dark vent, his eyes straining to see. You, Robin, and Dustin wait patiently down below. āYeah, I donāt know, man. I donāt know if you could fit in here. Itās like...super tightā he refers to Dustin. āIāll fitā Dustin convinces back. You mentally shake your head. There was nooo way Dustin would fit.
āTrust me. No collar bones, remember?ā You and Robin look to each other eyes wide. āUh, excuse me?ā Robin asked quickly. Steve jumps down from the later. āOh, heās, uh yeah heās got some disease. Chry, Uh...itās chrydo, um... Something. Yea, I dunnoā
You smile at his cute stuttering. āHeās missing bones and stuff. He can bend like Gumbo.ā Your eyebrows furrow. Isnāt it Gumby? āYou mean Gumby?ā You ask through raised eyebrows. Steve looks to you, āIām pretty sure itās Gumbo.ā
āSteve, just shut up and push me!ā Dustinās voice echoed due to the vent. āOkayā Steve drawls out, rolling his eyes before moving up the ladder. He grabs Dustin by the feet, lifting him off the ladder, before giving him a solid push into the vent. He doesnāt budge. āNot my feet, dumbass. Push my assā Dustin yells back angrily.
āWhat?ā Steve says. āTouch my butt! I donāt care!ā Dustin screams back. You stifle a laugh. And sure enough, Steve moves further up the ladder, and attemptās to push Dustin in. āCome on! Harder! Push Harder!ā
āIām pushing!ā Steve resorts back. āYouāre playing with my legs.ā āIām not playing, I have terrible footing.ā God, they sound like a old married couple. Robin looks to you, giving you a āwhat the hell is going onā face. You giggle and shrug innocently.
āIām gonna just shove you, ready?ā Steve says. He starts counting, Dustinās legs wrapped around the back of his neck for better support. āOne, Two...ā
He shoved him. Once again, Dustin doesnāt budge. āShit!ā He exclaims. āOne more timeā he says to Steve.
Suddenly, the sound of the customer bell rings from the front of Scoops. Robin turns, looking to an annoyed Erica Sinclair. Sheās ringing the bell rapidly saying, āAhoy, sailors! All hands on deck! Ahoy!ā
Robin smiles mischievously, and you wonāt even try to process the thoughts flowing in that girls head.
Robin leaves you and goes to the front. Your mouth is just forming her name when the swinging door swings back in your direction. You look back over to the boys to see Steve still trying to push Dustin inside the vent. You sigh, moving towards the ladder and nudging Steveās leg. He looks down to you.
āBoth of you come down. Itās clearly not gonna work.ā With sighs of defeat Steve and Dustin touch the ground. āWhereās Robin?ā Steve asks, looking around, not noticing her presence. You shrugg, āWho the hell knows anymore.ā
Suddenly she retreats back with, Erica Sinclair? The little girls eyes widen when they see you. ā(y/n)?ā she questioned, eyebrows raised. āWhat are you doing hanging around with these nerds?ā
You chuckle. You loved this kid. Steve steps in, āUh, you two know eachother?ā His hands move between you and Erica. āI babysat her for like three yearsā you shrugged. Steve nods.
Erica looks over to Robin. āWhat vent were you talking about?ā She asks. Robin points to the small vent above them. āThat oneā
The four of you watch as Erica shines the flashlight into the vent. āHmmā she hums unsurely. She hops down from the latter, facing the four of you who were leaning against the white and blue wall. āYeah, I donāt knowā Erica says.
āYou donāt know if you could fit?ā Dustin asks. Erica scoffs, āOh, I can fit. I just donāt know if I want too.ā āAre you claustrophobic?ā Robin speaks up. Erica snickers, āI donāt have phobias.ā
āOkay, well, whatās the problem?ā Steve draws out, the annoyance in his voice increasing with every word. āThe problem is, I still havenāt heard whatās in this for Erica.ā She sasses back. Steve sucks in his teeth and looks to Robin, who raises her brows.
You watch as Steve moves a gigantic banana split before Ericaās eyes. She examines it before pushing it back to Steve. āMore fudge, please.ā When Steve doesnāt move, Erica flutters her hand in his direction, prompting him to move. āGo on.ā You watch as Steve flashes her the fakiest smile you have ever seen and goes to get her more fudge.
āAll rightā Robin pulls out the map. āYou see this?ā She points to the line written in red marker. āThis is the route youāre gonna take.ā Robin then turns the map over, and points to a big area circled with the red line. āThen we just wait till the last delivery goes out tonight. Then you knock down the grate, jump down, open the door.ā Robin explains it as if it were the easiest thing in the world.
āThen you find out whatās in those boxes?ā Erica scoops a spoonful of ice cream in her mouth from the remaining few on the table. āExactlyā Robin concludes. Erica makes an unsure sound again. āAnd you say this guard is armed.ā
You and Dustin look at eachother. āYes, but he wonāt be thereā you try to convince. Dustin seems to nod along to you for moral support. āAnd booby traps?ā She asks further. Robin cuts in, āBooby traps?ā She questions. āLasers, spikes in the wall?ā Erica explains.
Robin laughs at her, so does Dustin. āYou know what this half-baked plan of yours sounds like to me?ā Erica quirks an eyebrow at the three of you. Dustin makes a face at her. āChild endangermentā She draws out.
You frown quickly at the idea that Erica thought you were willingly trying to danger her. You babysat the kid for three freaking years. You lean up again. āWeāll be in radio contact with you the whole timeā you try to persuade. āAh, ah ah,ā she points her finger at you. āChild endangermentā She draws out, once again. You huff, rolling your eyes, plopping back against the red booth.
āErica? Hi. Uh, we think these Russians want to do harm to our country. Great harm. Donāt you love your country?ā Dustin takes a new method in persuading. Erica thinks for a minute before smirking. āYou canāt spell āAmericaā without āErica.ā
You and Dustin look to eachother before both nodding your heads. āUh, Yeah, Yeahā Dustin nods his head. āOddly, thatās, uh, totally true.ā
You lean in closer to her, āSo, donāt do this for us. Do it for your countryā you shrug at her before, leaning back into the booth. Dustin adds on, āDo it for your fellow man.ā
Erica slurps harshly on one of the Scoops Ahoy milkshakes. The drink reminds you of what happened between you and Steve just one hour before. He did try to kiss you. You looked to Robin, who was nodding along to whatever else Dustin was saying to Erica. You knew she liked Steve. You could tell she enjoyed his company and he enjoyed herās. They held hands. You felt guilty. Just seeming to barge into their friend group like this. And maybe whatever Steve and Robin had going on. You bit at your thumbnail.
Night fell, and it was time. āErica, do you copy?ā Robin spoke into the walkie talkie. Ericaās sassy voice resorts back, āMm-hmm. I copy. You nerds in position or what?ā
āYeah, weāre in positionā Robin says back. āItās all quiet here, so youāve got the green lightā Robin assures. You stand between Steve and Dustin, and roll your eyes at Dustinās binoculars, thinking of how those things almost had you all killed the other night. āGreen light, roger that.ā Her voice then continued, āCommence Operation Child Endangerment.ā You couldnāt help but roll your eyes. You grab the walkie talkie from Robins grip.
āCan we maybe not call it that?ā You speak into the device. Erica ignores you, her voice coming in again, āSee you on the other side, nerds.ā
You all look to eachother before taking a comfortable position on the ground, waiting for Erica to open the door. Without even noticing, you lean your head on Steveās shoulder. He tilts his head over, smiling into your hair. Robin doesnāt notice, keeping her gaze mostly on the door. Dustin eyes the both of you, a small grin ghosting his lips. When you realize what your doing, you try to hold back a smile. Steve was warm against you. It was summer, but the night was cool, prompting a chill to seize your skin every so often. Steve noticed, wrapping his arm around your shoulder before resting his palm against your lower arm. His hands trailed up and down, trying to create a warm friction between the two of you. In a few seconds you stopped shaking.
Before any of you could say something, Ericaās voice comes through the walkie talkie that rested in your palm. āAll right, nerds.ā
You jolt your head off of Steveās shoulder, Robin, Steve and Dustin crowding around you. āIām there.ā You all smile at eachother. Robin leans over, āDo you see anything?ā
āYeah, I see those boring boxes youāre so excited about.ā You chuckle, putting the communication device to your mouth, āAny guards?ā You ask. āNegativeā Erica answers back. You sigh in relief. Robin cuts in again, āBooby traps?ā She smirks.
āIf I could see them, theyād be pretty shit traps, wouldnāt they?ā Erica pipes back. You and Dustin look at eachother before nodding. Steve rolled his eyes. āThank you for that.ā Robin depressed a chuckle.
You all hear a yell and then a bang before her voice comes through again. āIām inā she confirms. Steve untenses from next to you, running his hand through his voluminous hair, before muttering out a āoh godā in relief. You all look to the door anxiously.
The doors open and Erica walks out in all her glory. She puts a hand on her hip, āFree ice cream...for life.ā She points at Robin and Steve. The four of you walk down the stairs to the road below.
Once inside, the five of you spent no time to see whatās in those boxes. Steve opens one of the Imperial Panda boxes with a box cutter. He opens the box, you and Robin helping with the sides. Itās...a smaller box?
Your eyebrows furrow. Itās a small beige box with a small metal handle on top. Steve grabs the handle before twisting it open. Air hisses from the action. He gently pulls the lid off. The five of you lean over, looking inside. Before your eyes lay four other small steel handles. āThatās definitely not Chinese food.ā Steve jokes. Yup, definitely not.
āUh, maybe you guys should, you know, stand back.ā Steve motions for the four of you to stand back. You, Robin, and Erica do so. Dustin doesnāt move. āNoā he protest, moving closer. Steve pushes him away by the chest, āJust step back, okay?ā
Dustin moves forward again, āNo.ā āStep back. Seriously.ā Steve warns. āNo! No! If you die, I die.ā Dustin proclaims. You smile softly. It was sweet, but a little weird. Steve shrugs, āOkay.ā The next thing you know, his hand is reaching into the box.
Steve slowly twist one of the handles. It makes a clicking noise before that same air hissing noise from before. He pulls it out. Itās a small container with a green liquid inside. You all stare at eachother in shock.
āWhat the hell?ā Steve whispered breathlessly. āWhat is that?ā Robin asked after him. Suddenly the floor rumbled slightly beneath you. You all look around in panic. What the hell was that?
Dustinās scarred voice comes next, āWas that just me, or did the room move?ā You shook your head, swallowing thickly. āNope. The room definitely just moved.ā You answered. āBooby trapsā Erica whispers out from next to you.
The room shakes again, a mechanical whirring being heard from off the walls. āYou know what? Letās just grab that and goā Robin steps forward in panic, grabbing the strange green container. Dustin moves over to the bottons on the wall. He presses the blue botton with the words āDoor Openā displayed on the front. The door doesnāt open.
āWhich one do I press, Erica?ā Dustin shouts, his voice yelling the word panic. āJust press the damn button, nerdā Erica sassed. āWhich one? Iām pressing the button, okay?ā
āPress āopen doorā!ā Erica yelled. Dustin huffs, āIām pressing āopen doorā.ā You move forward, ready to put their bickering to rest. āMaybe try pressing the other buttonā you say sarcastically. You start pressing all the buttons now, but none of them work. Steve makes his way next you, slightly shoving you away. āMaybe try this oneā he presses the glowing green button in the middle.
Another door above slams down before you. Itās silent for a moment. All of you waiting for what was next. However, this one you didnāt expect. The room rattled before then rapidly plunging to the floor.Erica and Robin scream, grabbing onto shelfās and boxes. You grab onto Steve. He looks to the wall, before letting out an āOh shit.ā You look to the wall too, to see a whole bunch of lights flashing before your eyes. Like floors. Then it hit you.
It wasnāt a room. It was a goddamn elevator.

Thereās the gate past the glass they all look past, all eyes on you and your comrades as Dustinās the first to fumble with where the hell to go.
Steve runs against you when you hesitate, before pushing you before him. You run after Erica, hurrying down the steps and kicking yourself up to skip a few like you used to when you were a kid. When you see Steve stumble you reach and grab his hand, yanking him down some steps and just out of the grasp of one of the soldiers behind him.
āThis way!ā Steve yells when youāre stuck on the bridge by the machine. Itās almost deafening but you can still hear the panic in everyoneās voices. When you run ahead of him, just a step or two, he grabs your shoulders and pushes you behind him before he throws forward a tower of waste containers into the guards that were so close to coming for you.
He looks back, yelling āCome on! Come on!ā And grabs your hand in one of his, the other urging everybody to pass by him.
You run into the nearest room, and you almost keep going for it until Steveās shoesĀ Ā squeak and the door pounds shut.Ā You run and hold it with him, ear against the door, eyes on him and occasionally flickering to the others as they one by one begin to realize the situation you and Steve are in.

You sat in the back of Scoops Ahoy, translating the rest of the Russian that was being displayed from the recording. You had gotten another sentence in. āA trip to China sounds nice if you tread lightly.ā
You sighed and ran a hand through your hair. Again, it made no damn sense. You were also thinking of what Steve and Dustin were up too. They had left an hour before, stating that they were going to try and find some Evil Russians. You had wanted to come along, so they wouldnāt do anything stupid, but you knew you had to stay to finish the translation. Robin was nice enough to stay behind and keep you company.
You got up, tapping upon the glass sliding window that separated the back from the official ice cream parlor. Robin appeared. āI got another sentenceā you smiled.
You handed her the little notepad you had been writing on. āThe week is long. The silver cat feeds when blue meets yellow in the west. A trip to China sounds nice if you tread lightly.ā She reads aloud. Her eyebrows furrow at the last sentence.
Before you both could say anything, an echo from the door in the back causes you and Robin to look behind you. She scoffs in annoyance. āWhatās that?ā You ask.
āDeliveryā She explains bluntly. You move out of the way so she can swing through the glass windows. She hurried over to the door, you following.
āDelivery for youā the man on the other side explains, handing Robin a brown box. āThank youā She hands the box to you, to which you place on the table.
The man wore a black shirt and pants with sliver bottoms going along the front. He also wore a matching hat with the word, āLynxā written in red. He takes out a pen from his shirt pocket, and takes out a clipboard with paper on it. Robin signs it.
You also notice, above the pocket on his shirt displayed the words, āLynx Transportationā
Lynx. The image of a lynx popped into your head. Lynx had silver fur. Your eyes widened. Silver cat.
āHave a nice dayā He stated to Robin. Her eyes stay fixated on his hat. She knows as well. āYeah, you tooā The man turns and leaves, pushing a red cart with multiple boxes in it. You and Robin exchange a knowing look, before following him out in the hallway.
On the back of his shirt, said the words āLynx Transportationā again, with a design of a Lynx above it. The drawing displayed in a silver color.
You and Robin look to each other in astonishment. āSilver Catā you both whisper out in unison.
Before you can say anything else, a lightbulb seems to click in Robins head. She dips to the front. You followed behind her. What the hell was she doing?
Dustin and Steve enter the ice cream parlor, a defeated look on both their faces. āYouāre not gonna believe who Dustin thought was a Russianā Steve began to say to the both of you. Robin ignored him, sliding past both of them, and outside the shop.
Robin finds a bench outside and stands on it frantically looking around. Steve looks to you, trying to ask what she was doing. You shook your head and shrugged. You had no idea. The three of you quickly followed her.
āA trip to China sounds niceā Robin looks to a Chinese food place a few feet away. āIf you tread lightlyā She then looks to a shoes store a floor above them. āWhen blue and yellow meet in the westā She looks around before stoping at the large mall clock. The smaller hand was blue and the larger one was yellow, they both were pointed in the west.
You had caught on at this point. You chuckled in surprise. Robin cracked the damn code.
āWhat is she doing?ā Steve asked aloud. āShe cracked itā you shook your head in amazement. Steve looked to you in confusion, āCracked what?ā
Suddenly Robin jumps down infront of the three of you, āI cracked the code.ā
āāāāāā
You, Dustin, Steve and Robin sat in the pouring rain spying upon Evil Russians. This was what your life had come to now. You sat next to Dustin, and he handed you his binoculars. You greatfully excepted them, putting them up to your eyes. All you saw was two men, dressed in all black, standing infront of a building. There hands were behind their backs, holding something.
A truck drove in before them. āLook for Imperial Panda and Kaufman Shoesā Robin reminded all of you. You nodded.
You handed the binoculars back Dustin. He put them up to his face. You moved your soaking wet hair away from your eyes. Of course the only time you brought a jacket without a hood was today. You looked over at Steve, it looks like he had the same idea, his usually voluminous brown locks were drenched and was stuck to his forehead and temple. He somehow still managed to look attractive.
He noticed your staring and looked to you. You quickly turned your head away, a blush coated your cheeks. Once again, you were eye - gawking.
But what you didnāt see was Steve smirking gaze still upon you. He moved some hair out of his eyes.
A whistling guy wearing yellow emerged from a door, pushing a cart with two boxās. The brands Imperial Panda and Kaufman shoes displayed along the front of them.
āThere with that whistling guy, ten oāclockā Dustin said quickly. You snapped your head towards that direction. āWhat do you thinkās in there?ā Steve asked through squinted eyes.
āGuns, Bombās maybe?ā You answered back over the loud rain. āChemical weapons?ā Dustin and Robin added on in unison. āWhatever it is, theyāre armed to the teethā Dustin replied.
You look back to the men dressed in black. They were armed now, a large black gun pointed directly towards the ground. You shivered, but you didnāt know if it was from the rain or the fear of being shot. Possibly both.
The sound of thunder whipped through the area. You jolted. āGreat. Thatās greatā Steve spoke sarcastically, wiping water from his eyes. You looked again. One of the men opened the two gray doors with a keycard. The guy in the yellow started walking into what looked like a room.
āHey, Whatās in there?ā Robin asked Dustin. Dustin shrugged, āItās just more boxes.ā Steve reaches over, grabbing Dustinās binoculars, āLet me check it outā
Dustin retreated them back, shaking his head at him. āNo, Iām still looking.ā Steve scoffed, tugging on them again, āLemme see it!ā
With one final tug, Dustin retrieved his binoculars back, but it hit the metal pole beneath them. A thud ran through the area. The men looked around, raising their guns. āDuck!ā Dustin said. The four of you ducked behind the concert wall. āShitā you mumbled, biting your thumb nail anxiously.
The four of you panted wildly. You look over to see Robin and Steve holding hands. Your heart drops. You look away sorrowly. Even though you would never admit it aloud, you wished that was you and him.
Dustin looked to your distressed face, and then back to Steve and Robinās enclosed hands. His face fell into a blank stare. Did you like Steve?
You, Dustin, Steve and Robin escaped the roof before the Russians can see you. The four of you rushed down a gray hallway, looking behind you ever so often. You canāt believe that had happened to you. This is the most thrill youāve ever experienced in your life.
āWell I think we found your Russiansā Robin stated, looking to each of you. Yep, you definitely did.

Escape You | Part Two
Chapter Two:
The Mall Rats
Steve Harrington x reader
summary: Steve asks you a simple favor, and itās nothing like youāve ever imagined.
warnings: cursing, mention of sex
notes: finally we get some Steve in this chapter. Letās get this series rollin! And thanks so much for the nice feedback š
āāāāāāāāāāā
āSo, it was a rat?ā Sarahās eyebrows were practically raised to her hairline. āYes, Yes! And then it just exploded, into like, like a red mushā you paused, shivering, āit was disgustingā
Your face then brightens up again, remembering something else, āAlso, another thing!ā You raised a finger in the air. Sarah nodded her head, urging you on. This was just sheer comedy to her now. āWhen I woke up...it was goneā your voice was low.
Sarah pauses for a long time. āWere you daydreaming again?ā Your eyebrows furrowed, āWhat no,ā Sarah cut you off, āItās either that or youāre on drugsā You shook your head rapidly. āI think youāre on drugsā Sarah said, convinced.
You rolled your eyes. āNo, No. I saw it with my own eyesā you tapped your temple wildly with your pointer finger. It was then you realized that your hand was grabbed on Sarahās shoulder roughly. Her eyes were wide, and she seemed to look at you in fright. You jolted your hand away. Were you going crazy?
āOkay. . .ā Sarah drawed out awkwardly. You rub a hand across your face and sigh.
Two girl teenagers enter the store. Sarah basically sighs in relief. Anything to get her out of this situation. āIām gonna actually go do my job. Be ready at the counterā She then walked off. You scoffed, walking to the counter. You looked over at Scoops Ahoy.
You saw Robin, another one of the workers at the ice cream parlor, attending Erica Sinclair at the counter. You only knew Erica because you used to babysit her when you were still in high school. Ya know, a little more cash went a long way. You always thought she was hilarious, she had a lot of personality for her age.
However, in Robins cause, you didnāt really know her deal. After weeks of observing, she was pretty normal. Every once and awhile you saw her take out this whiteboard with two sides titled, You Rule and You Suck. The one side, You Suck, had seven tallyās on it. You always wondered what that board was for.
Something struck your eye again. Steve Harrington, came from the back of Scoops. He seemed in a rush, he took off his hat, rubbed his hands through his hair, and then put the hat back on. He exited the ice cream parlor, heading straight to your store . . . to you.
Your eyes widened, your heart hammered against your chest. No, it canāt be. Maybe he would turn, go another way, into another store. But he didnāt. Your mind raced with possibilities. What could he want? What would he say? What would you say?
Could he want to buy something? You mentally shook her head. No, idiot, this was a Womanās clothing store.
Before you had time to think of something else, there he was, standing before you. His hand slammed hard against the counter. You jolted slightly.
āHiā he breathed out. Your eyebrows furrowed. That was it? You expected something more dramatic. But it was nothing, just a simple greeting. Was he trying to start conversation with you? āHi?ā You answered back. You didnāt mean for it to come out as a question, but it did. What the hell did he want?
āDo, do you remember me?ā He pointed to himself, still panting wildly. You were confused, why was he panting so loud? Scoops Ahoy was literally like a few feet away. When you didnāt answer, Steve spoke up again. āIām Steve. We went to the same high school together. We had the same Chemistry class.ā
Of course you remembered him. The weird thing was, that he remembered you. You were a nobody in high school. You hung out with a small crowd, until most of your friends decided to ditch you, and your closest and best friend moved to New York. After that you had no one, and you basically hung out with no one. Maybe that was why you were so observant. It seemed that everyone elseās lives were somehow more interesting then yours.
āYea...ā you answered with a nod. You still didnāt understand. Why was he here, asking you these random questions about high school. You hated talking about high school, let alone talk about it with Steve fucking Harrington.
āGreat! Great!ā He laughed, breathlessly. It was a cute sound, and you held back the urge to smile. āUhh,ā He trails off. His face is twisted in concentration. His elbows rested on the table, and he smacked his palms against his forehead a few times. āYouāre name, Youāre name. Goddamn it, whatās your name?ā He mumbled under his breath.
Considering you two were inches apart you heard him. ā(Y/N)ā you spoke your name aloud. Steve jolts up, slamming his hand on the counter again. He points to you, ā(Y/N)! Yes! Yes!ā
Your eyes widen. Was he always so energetic? In high school he just seemed like your chill, hot popular kid. He didnāt get the nickname King Steve for nothing. You held back the urge to smile again. God he was adorable.
He then relaxes, leaning his elbows on the counter comfortably. ā(Y/N)ā he repeats your name again. It sounded nice coming from his mouth. He scoffs, āYea I knew thatā
You snickered, smiking brightly. You couldnāt help it. Steve, noticing your smile, smiles back. āDo you still speak Russian?ā The question came out so nonchalantly, that you thought about asking him to repeat himself.
Yes, you spoke Russian, but not fluently. It was a hard language to learn, considering they had a whole different alphabet. But one of your close friends (who had moved to New York) spoke fluent Russian. Her parents were immigrants, and often spoke the language in their home. She has tried to teach you but you only had the patience to learn the alphabet. After that you stopped, it was stressful. But you could understand some of it.
āYea. How, how did you know I could speak Russian?ā You were generally curious. No one really knew expect your friend and maybe your Mom. And no one else really cared to ask.
āOne day in Chem, there was a new exchange student. He was a new immigrant, and only knew Russian. You willingly sat next to him, and translated everything for him.ā
You smiled at him. You had remembered that day. To be honest, you felt bad for the new kid. He didnāt have friends or know anybody, and on top of that couldnāt speak English! You had to do something. For the rest of the class you just translated things for him and made sure he understood the lesson. You didnāt know Steve was paying attention.
āIt was really inspirational actuallyā he smiled. You blushed madly, taking a strand of hair and pushing it behind your hair bashfully. You were never complimented, let alone by anyone like Steve.
āWhat do you want, Harrington?ā You said through smiled teeth. āJust a simple favor. I need you to help translate Russian for me and my friendā
āTranslate?ā You asked. Steve nodded, āYea, ya know? Like a recording in Russian will play and all you need to do is tell us what it saysā Steve then shrugged. You tilted your head to the side. The task was simple. Beyond simple. āCan you do that?ā Steve asked.
You nodded frantically, āYea. I, I canā
Steve jumped again, eyes wide, like he was suprised you had said yes. āGreat! Thatās greatā He motions you to move, āCāmon, letās go!ā
Your eyes widen, āLike right now?ā Steve nods frantically, the motion for you to move dramatically increasing. āOkā you quickly moved from around the counter, following after him.
He grabs you by the arm, giving you little pep in your step. Your eyes widen. Usually with things like this you would pull your arm away, but, it felt nice.
Whilst leaving the store, Sarah turns, looking to you in utter confusion. It did look weird, Steve Harrington was literally dragging you out of the store. God, she probably thought you two were off to have sex or something.
She smirks, and gives you two thumbs up. You roll your eyes before flashing her the finger.
Once in Scoops, Steve rushed to the back, his shoulder pushing open the swinging door. When you enter, Robin stood, along with a young teenage boy at a table. On the table, was a recorder and a forgien translater novel. The recording played, a man speaking Russian.
āSteve! What the hell!ā The boy shouted, frantically turning off the recording. Steve finally let go of your arm before puffing out an aggravated sigh. āWhat?ā He asks simply.
āSheās a stranger! Why would you bring a stranger in here? Donāt you wanna be American heroes?!ā The kid spoke quickly, a slight lisp escaping through every sentence.
āSheās not a stranger, okay? Sheās here to helpā Steve then turns to you, āThis is Dustinā he points to the young teenager, who let out a mumbled, āhelloā.
āAnd this is my coworker, Robinā he points to Robin, who is leaning against the wall, arms crossed. She smiles at you, giving a wave. āThis is (y/n)ā he points back to you. You wave at them.
Dustin is quick to speak up, leaning closer to you from his seat, like heās judging you. āSo how is she gonna help us?ā
āI can understand Russianā you said. Dustin suddenly perks up. āHoly shit, really?ā he asks.
Steve nods, āTold you she can helpā he snickers out. āWell what are you waiting for? Play the tape, dingusā Robin said to Dustin. She then leans over and attempts to play it, but Dustin stops her hand.
āWait!ā He looks back to you, āIf sheās gonna help us, she needs to know what sheās getting herself intoā
Your eyebrows furrow. You didnāt want to cause trouble, all you thought you were doing was translating some words. You look to Steve.
He sighs, āOk, fine. Tell herā
Dustin begins to tell his story, āSo last night, I was trying to contact my girlfriend Suzie through a radio I made. However, when I was trying to contact her, I interrupted a secret Russian communicationā
āNow,ā He points to you, āThatās when you come into play. All you need to do is translate this for usā
Steve steps forward, looking to you, āYou in?ā
You look to each of them, Steve, Robin, then Dustin. You thought about it for a minute. What was the harm in helping them? Maybe after, youād all become True Americans Heroes, and you would be noticed by people other then your best friend and your mom.
You smirked, turning to look at Steve, āIām inā
āāāāāā
You sat at the table, replaying the Russian tape over and over again. It wasnāt that it was difficult, it was because it didnāt make any damn sense.
You frantically looked to the alphabet words written on the white board on the wall. The sentence translated, āThe week is longā
Dustin burst through the door, āYou got anything yet?ā You sighed. You had forced everyone out the room, you didnāt work well under pressure. āYea actually. We got our first sentence.ā
Steve and Robin quickly poked there heads in through the sliding glass doors to your side. āReally?ā Steve asked. Robin was ecstatic, smiling brightly, āWhat is it!?ā She asked excitedly.
āThe week is longā You stated back in a Russian accent. Steve and Dustinās faces fell in disappointment. āWell, thatās very excitingā Dustin stated sarcasticly, running an unamused hand over his face.
āRelax dingusās. Itās only the first sentence. Maybe by the end of the day, whatever (y/n) translates out will make senseā Robin covered for you. You smiled to her, greatfully. No one has ever stuck up for you like that.
āWeāll leave you alone so you can get back to workā Steve said. Your face scrunched up and you nodded. The three of them left quickly.
A few hours later, Steve, Robin, and Dustin looked infront of the white board, reading out what you had translated. āThe week is long. The silver cat feeds when blue meets yellow in the westā They all spoke in unison.
āI mean, it just canāt be rightā Steve stated as he closed up Scoops Ahoy. āItās rightā you said with a shrug from behind him.
The four of you started walking down the closed mall. It was strange seeing the mall empty. Good thing it was always Sarah who had to close up, you hated being alone at this hour.
āHonestly I think itās great newsā Dustin said. You looked at him suprised, this was the first time he looked on the bright side of things all day. āHow is this great news!ā Steve jogged up to the three of you, he scoffed, āI mean, so much for being American heroās. Itās total nonsense.ā
Steve was right. The sentence didnāt make any sense. And if it was a code, how would they be able to figure it out?
āItās not nonsenseā Dustin objected. āItās too specific. Itās obviously a codeā You nodded, what else would it be?
āWhat do you mean a code?ā Steve asked from next to you. āLike a secret spy codeā You shrugged, āThere evil Russianās right? You donāt know what there planningā
Steve scoffed again, āThatās a total stretchā Robin spoke up, āI donāt know, is it?ā Steve looked to her in disbelief. āYouāre buying into this?ā He pointed at her with raised eyebrows. āListen, just for kicks, letās entertain the possibility that it is a secret Russian transmission. Whatād you think they were gonna say, āFire the warhead at noon?ā
You snickered at her comment. āExactlyā Dustin agreed. Robin continued, āAnd (y/n)ās translation is correctā You nodded along with her, āI know that for sureā you stated confidentially.Steve smiled at you.
āThe silver cat feeds. Why would anyone talk like that unless theyāre trying to mask the meaning of their messageā Robin said with a convincing shrug. āExactlyā Dustin said again. āWhy would anyone mask the true meaning of their message unless the message was somehow sensitive!ā Robin made another point. You glanced at her and smiled, she was insanely smart.
āExactlyā Dustin said for the third time, looking directly at Steve this time. Steve rolled his eyes, mimicking Dustin by pursing his lips and mouthing the word āexactly.ā You giggled. āSo I guess that confirms your suspicionā Robin glances to you and Dustin.
āEvil Russiansā You and Dustin say together in a āduhā tone. Robin chuckles, āI canāt believe Iām about to agree with them, but, yeah, totally evil Russians.ā
āSo how do we crack it?ā Dustin looks to you this time, a hopeful glimmer overcoming his freatures. You shrug, āIāll translate the rest tomorrow and hopefully a better pattern emergesā you state simply.
āA pattern. Right, like maybe āsilver catā is a meeting place?ā Dustin offers. Robin cuts in, āOr a person?ā Dustin points to her, āOr a weaponā. You shake your head and sigh, āIt could be anythingā
āItās probably gonna take a super genius to crack it, but...ā Robin trails off looking behind her. You and Dustin do the same. Youāre eyebrows furrow. āWhereās Steve?ā You ask.
Steve stood by the Indiana Flyer horse ride, frantically digging out coins from his pocket. Some fall to the floor, making a clattering noise. āSteve? What are you doing?ā Robin calls out. He finally looks over to the three of you, counting the coins in his palm. āUh, itās a quarter. I need...Do you have a quarter?ā
The three of you walk over to him. You fish in your back pocket, before retrieving a quarter. You give it to Steve and your fingers touch. āThank youā he mumbles. āSure youāre tall enough for that ride?ā Robin jokes, nudging your side. You chuckle slightly.
Steve kneels down to the floor, quickly putting the coins inside the rides slot collecter. You, Robin and Dustin watch anxiously. What the hell was he doing?
The all to famous Daisy Bell jingle begins to play from the ride and the small horse starts to rock forward then backward. āYou need help getting up, little Stevie?ā Robin then joked again. āShhhā He scowls back at her, clearing knowing something the three of you didnāt.
You and Dustin look at each other and begin to chuckle. Steve shushes you again, āWould you three just shut up and listen?ā
So you did. The Daisy Bell jingle continued. You didnāt understand, why was he making you listen to this? What was the point. Suddenly you come to the realization that the Daisy Bell jingle was heard from the recording youāve been trying to translate for the past few hours. āHoly shitā you said in shock.
Dustin must of recognized too, because he wore the same shocked expression on his face. He looked at you then back to the rocking horse. āThe music.ā He pointed at the horse before whipping around his backpack and opening one of the pockets. āThe music!ā
He retrieved the recorder and pressed play. The man spoke Russian for a second before the same Daisy Bell jingle emerged from the tape. The same jingle that was playing infront of them. You and Steve exchanged a look. What could this mean?
āI donāt understand?ā Robin said with a shake of her head. āItās the exact same song from the recordingā you stated breathlessly looking from the recorder to the rocking horse. āMaybe they have horses like this in Russiaā Robin persuaded. You shook your head.
āIndiana Flyer? I donāt...ā Steve trailed off, shaking his head. āI donāt think so. This code, it... didnāt come from Russiaā. You saw his expression change, like he realized something horrific. He turned to the three of you, āIt came from hereā
The four of you exchanged scared looks before looking back to the white rocking horse, the Daisy Bell jingle playing in the background.

Escape You | Part One
Chapter One:
Suzie, Do You Copy?
summary: itās a normal day at StarCourt Mall until you discover one of Hawkins dark secrets.
warnings: cursing
notes: omfg I had to rewrite this :( anyway this chapter isnāt even that good, but welcome to this series! also if you want to be taken off the tag list just tell me cause Iām just gonna keep tagging all of you for each part lol.
āāāāāā
1985
Ah, the StarCourt Mall. The newest establishment of Hawkins Indiana. You had started working there earlier that summer. You only started working there to earn enough money to visit your best friend in New York. So far, the pay was decent. You worked in a womanās clothing store across from the famous ice cream parlor, Scoops Ahoy.
Thatās the only thing you hated about working at the mall. It was the fact that you had to see Steve Harringtonās face everyday. It wasnāt like you wanted to either. Every time, you looked up there he was, wearing that stupid sailors uniform with that stupid hat.
You honestly didnāt even hate Steve for any particular reason. Well, he was an asshole, and thatās why most people hated him. You just hated the idea of him. You hated the idea of running your hands through his perfect hair. Or kissing his flushed soft lips. Or walking around with him, your hands closed together, as he tried to smitten you with his pickup lines. God, you hated him.
ā(y/n)!ā The shouts of your name brought you out of your Steve loathed daydream. It was the all to familiar shouts of your coworker, Sarah. Sarah was younger than you by a year. She was a senior in high school. She only worked here because of her mother, who was the owner of the store. She hated her job, and you hated that you had to work with her. You hated Sarah too. But in her cause, there were a million things to hate her for. She was just simply a bitch.
Your eyes widened when they came familiar to the darkened room. āWeāre closing already?ā You asked. Sarah scoffed at you, āNo, the power went out.ā You can hear the annoyance lacing from her voice. āGod (y/n), I was calling your name for the past five minutes. Are you deaf or something!ā You rolled your eyes. āThis daydreaming crap is getting out of hand. What if there was a costumer waiting and you blew the sale!ā You could hear her favorite black boots pacing along the white tiled floor.
Suddenly, there was a slight bang, then a groan, Sarahās angerd voice coming next, āGod dammit! When is the power gonna come back on!?ā
You leaned against the counter, your elbows laying against the surface. You rubbed your temples stressfully. God you hated working with her. āCan you relax? Iām sure the power will come back on soonā
As if right on cue, the once dark room gleamed with light. You looked over to Sarah to tell her āI told you soā but you stifled a laugh at the image you saw infront of you. Sarah was on the tiled floor. Two of the white mannequins were sprawled along the floor, one of them actually on top of Sarah. Your mouth covered your amused smile. āShut upā Sarah groaned to you, attempting to get off of the floor, which just made you laugh harder.
āāāāāā
You watched as Steve Harrington flirted with some girls at the counter. You tried to hold back a scoff. You heard the back doors of the shop open and watched as Sarah strutted out, your store uniform on. It was a maroon T-shirt with the stores name with dark pants. This meant your shift was over.
You gave a breath of relief, beginning to quickly pack your things to go on your lunch break. You had to at least get your mind off of Steve for an hour. Sarah took your spot at the counter. āGeez, why are you in such a hurry? I thought you liked the counter job. You get a great view of Harrington.ā
What she said made you almost drop your bag. You turned to her muttering out an, āW, What?ā Were you that obvious? Was the staring becoming to much? Sarah scoffed, āOh come on, I see you staring at Harrington all the timeā a clever smirk coverd her featured. āI can go talk to him for you, if you want?ā
You shook your head rapidly, āNo, no no. I donāt like him.ā Sarah stared at you with her head to the side, like she was debating weather or not she should believe you. She shrugs, āWhatever you say (y/n).ā She looks forward, towards the ice cream parlor again. āBut I will say, I donāt blame you for looking.ā
You look to the ice cream shop. Steve Harrington stood at the counter, but this time with the white sailors hat off. His beautiful brown locks out for the world to see. The voluminous hair seemed to curl and bounce against his forehead. Your lips were caught between your teeth and you could feel your face heating up. God did you want to run your hands through that hair.
Sarah stared at you at the counter. She watched as your eyes lit up when you saw him and she watched as you bit your lip and your face reddened. She cleared your throat, which earned your attention. She smirked widely, āYou were saying?ā
You quickly bolted out of the shop, wanting to die from embarrassment.
āāāāāā
On your car ride home, you sulked in the drivers seat, feeling tired from today. Thank god when you returned back to the store, Sarahās shift was over. God, you felt so stupid. She caught you gawking over him. Literally, gawking! You wanted to bang your head onto the steering wheel for being so stupid.
You pulled up to a stoplight. You huffed, leaning back in your seat, waiting for the light to flash green. All you wanted to do was go home and sleep. A car pulls up next to you, blasting some loud rock music. You look over but immediately look away. Itās Steve fucking Harrington. His hands slam against the steering wheel, beating along with the music. His head bops along to the beat, a curl skimming his forehead every so often. A smile rested on his face as he sang along to the song. He looked good, really good.
You occasionally looked his way, but stopped when you realized what you were doing. Maybe Sarah was right. The staring was getting a little out of hand. You sighed, and decided to just try and stare out your side of the window until the damn light turned green.
Couldnāt he just go away! You werenāt even at work and here he was. You couldnāt escape him.
The light flashed green and you watched as Steve drove away down the street. You heard a honk from behind you and quickly stepped on the gas, muttering out multiple āsorryās.ā
Before you knew it you were home. You shut off your car and walked into your house, you threw your keys on the kitchen counter. You stopped when you saw a note written on the kitchen table. You leaned over, reading the letter.
Hey hon! Sorry I couldnāt be home to say goodbye to you in person, but my flight was at 2. Anyway, there is a bunch of leftoverās in the fridge, and I left you twenty dollars on the fridge to order pizza one night. Remember to take out the trash. I love you! See you in a week. - Mom.
You sighed. You forgot your mom was going on a business trip for a week. You had the whole house to yourself. To bad you didnāt have friends, otherwise you wouldāve thrown a party or something. You did as you were told, walking over to the trash can.
You took the black bag out with a huff before walking to the back door. Your street was mostly dark, the only light coming from one of your neighbors porches. Ms. Driscollās house. You loved the woman. She made the best cookies and fresh squeezed lemonade.
With a huff, you managed to put the garbage into the pail without a problem. After wiping your hands together, you started to make your way back inside.
However, you stopped when you heard a screeching noise. It was faint but can still be heard. Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion, before you followed the noise. You prayed that if wasnāt a broken tire or a broken pipe. You followed the noise which led you to the back of your house. The sight that you saw made you frown.
A rat laid on the green grass. It was a small gray one. Itās body flailed rapidly, the screeching became more painful with every thrash. You moved closer, before kneeling before it. āWhatās wrong little guy?ā You mumbled out softly.
Suddenly, it gave one final loud scream before exploding before you. Itās guts, red and pink, scattered out along the grass.
Your eyes widened and your mouth fell agape. You let out a scream before bolting to your house, opening the back door, and slamming it closed. You leaned against it, a hand to your chest, trying to catch your breath. What the hell was that?!

HA! Imagine!! š
Summary: You always hated Steve Harrington, but one day when he asks you a simple favor, your world is turned upside down and you learn the deep secrets Hawkins provides.
āāāāāāāā
Heyy! This is a little sneak peak for my Steve Harrington fanfic I was talking about. The fanfic is called, āEscape Youā.
Everything that occurs through the series is based on Season 3 of Stranger Thing. So, there will definitely be spoilerās!
I have finished writing the first chapter, and am ongoingly writing the second chapter. Each chapter, is based off each episode of Season Three. So there will possibly be eight parts, maybe even with an epilogue!
Once I have at least written 3 chapters then I will start to post the chapters!
Also I am very self aware that everything that happens with the monsters is taken place in 1985 and not 1984.
Iām so excited for this series, and I hope you guys are too! If you want to be apart of the tag list, comment and ask!

FOREVER AND ALWAYS (Bellamy Blake x Reader AU)
Request:Ā Hi, love your writing so much, its a guilty pleasure! I was wondering if you could write something in which the reader is part of the Avengers(like sheās got some kind of power) and sheās already on Earth when the 100 arrive, and Bellamy starts liking her? Idk im a huge fan of Marvel and the 100 and would love to read something like this :)
A/N: I had a good idea for this but took some creative license with the plot but i hope you like it

Eyeing the battle ground, you notice Loki watching you with piercing, angry eyes as the rest of the Avengers fight theĀ Chitauri. You feel hate boiling up inside your chest as you see your city in ruins.
And itās all because of him. You make your way towards him, brandishing your sword before you begin running towards him. Loki gives you a smile, running as well.Ā
As you meet in the middle, itās like a bomb going off. Immediately, the two of you are swinging and dodging each others weapons, both trying to get the upper hand.
