Character sheet updates.

To give myself a bit of a break, I’ve decided to add in character sheet updates every few updates for a bit so I can keep updates going while I still get the hang of this.

I think I should take back my scheduling date

Okay, so I’ve somehow been a lot busier this week than I was aware I was going to be, which had me thinking about a lot concerning this comic. Primarily, updating it. I will still do my best to have it done by before Thursday ends, however I can’t promise that. And I realized that my eagerness had me scheduling this way before I was actually ready to keep to a schedule. I thought I was ready, but I don’t have any back ups to post if I don’t get this chapter fully completed. I will work hard to finish it, as I have the majority of it done. Sudden events, however, have prevented me from finishing it when I actually thought to finish it. And with the clear art changes that I am going to be going through, I now know that I can’t keep a proper schedule. So, I won’t. Not an official one. I will TRY to continue keeping to it, but now I think it’s better if I don’t straight up promise that it will be every other thursday. At least not exactly. But I do promise I will do my best to keep an update some day of every other week.

A little style update

So, I always knew that ‘The Wrong Town’ was going to have changes. Always. It was a given. What else, right? I mean, it’s a new comic and I’m not entirely sure what I’m going to be doing. Chapter 3 is definitely going to be the first of many to have a change. This change will have to do with the coloring aspect and more specficially, the shading. I know that this blog doesn’t get much traction, though I hope at some point that changes. I’m sure that change, if it does, will be a good, long ways away. I am completely okay with that. Despite that fact though, I thought it best to express that chapter 3 will look a bit different. Hopefully, anyone who reads it will think it’s better. I also would like to firmly express that changes will continue to happy and not just on the shading. At some point, the comic will most likely look like a completely different project all together. If, or when if I’m to be honest, that does happen, I will surely go back and upgrade previous installments until the comic is more consistent.

Worked on promo stuff

I made two promo vids of sorts for the two primary characters for the comic. I'm sure that by now, it's clear that those aforementioned characters are Iris and Spinner. It took a good while doing so. But it was kinda fun. Hopefully they aren't too tacky, I did have to slightly rush through with the words with in it. The art itself took the most time, though anyone who's ever drawn anything is probably not surprised to hear/see that being sad. It took hours upon hours but I was happy with how each piece of art came out. Especially the ones that are in the Spinner promo. I did my very best make sure that I didn't have to reuse any of the works. at least not identically. I hope that I will be able to make a better looking promotional video for the comic later down the road, when I've got a more steady schedule going on.

Chapter 3

Chapter 3 will definitely be highlighting Spinner, Iris’s new roommate in hell. It will go into a bit of his past. At first, I was actually going to show the reason why he was in hell. To show the darker things he’s done. But I would like to say that I’ve decided that his history will be shown in gradual parts. It’ll build up to what lead him to where he is and how he became what he is. I want his character to be explained, but I don’t want the information to be completely shoved into everyone’s face. I will say it’ll be very clear that he belongs in Hell, however. He’s not an innocent bean but I certainly hope people will love the problematic little Spider demon. I sure do. He's hella toxic, I'm not gonna lie. He's a man-child. But he'll also have some really nice moments and I plan on having him develop. It won't be a 180 turn, he'll always have some sort of problematic behavior. But He'll be better.

Chapter 2 is officially out

I've finally got Chapter 2 published. I'm so happy to finally put it out there. It's short, I know. But I really had to figure out how I wanted to introduce this character. I spent quite a few times trying to figure out if I preferred him being a bit more mysterious or more straightforward. I decided to trying to go for both. I don't know if I achieved that, but I'm satisfied enough with how it turned out. Chapter 2 focuses on showing you a glimpse of where Iris is meant to be staying, but it's primary focus was to showcase her roommate, Spinner. Spinner is the male lead of the comic and chapter 3 will definitely focus more on him than Iris as he's just as important as her. You'll actually get to see a bit of how Spinner was and I might even give a bit of a glimpse of why exactly he's in hell and why he resembles a spider. Though, I also might not. it really depends on what I end up deciding in the end. Either way, I love him so much.

Upcoming Characters!

I have quite a few characters I plan on introducing in the comic and I debated on whether or not to go into detail on them or not due to my excitement but at the same time I didn’t want to give too much away. So I’ll share some of the new characters, but not all.

note: these characters don’t come ALL at once in the comic some are still a ways away but some are soon to be appear a little after chapter 2.

Upcoming characters:

Sora: a fox demon with a flair for the eccentric. Dramatic, egotistic and willing to put anyone down to build himself up. He is usually follow by two, smaller demon foxes. His death, which I won’t go into much detail, was not pleasant and he and his minions, when they were human, had done quite the horrible things to cure Sora’s boredom.

Reo and Ichika: Sora’s followers. Reo has the air of a shy young boy though in reality he can be a bit on the two faced side. He and Spinner get along quite well. Ichika, however, is far more blunt in her nasty mannerisms. She’s constantly insulting those around her, claiming them to be unworthy of being anywhere near Sora. Sora has a clear favoritism towards Ichika.

Eli: A mysterious demon -though which type will have to wait to be revealed-. It was clear that, when he was alive, he was never a good person. Chaotic and violent, Eli hold an air of malice about him even when he holds a large grin on his face. Not even his appearance, which isn’t at all imposing until you actually interact with him, can hide the fact that he definitely deserves to be in jail.

My back and Forth

I have serious second guess issues. It something I've always had, though they usually are very quick to pass. The reason I bring this up is that there is a good chance that this project will have a lot of those passing moments from me. I will more than likely post about quite a lot of them. Especially about scheduling conflicts. If I mention a change in the schedule, and I am sure I will, you can easily take them with a grain of salt. I'll always be afraid I will mess up my schedule. Always. And some times, I'm sure I will. Life can be complicated and messy, after all. But most of the time, I might just say it due to the feelings in the moment. Just like what's happened with Chapter 2. I plan to post every other Thursday. And I sure thing there's a chance that I will say that I'll have to post another chapter in parts only to take that back a day or so later. It's just how things are with me until I've fully settled into creating this thing.

My main problem

Backgrounds. I never seem to get the backgrounds right. so I have to take extra time with them though I always feel like it doesn’t look like I do. I really try.
