Ch 17 - “The Golden Scales of Justice - Part 4″ is live.

The end is near for one riding out for the Old Cairn on the hill.

Plots are wrapping up, and some are beginning to celebrate. Still, the scales wobble with last-minute doubts of two of the plotters.

One seeks counsel from an old friend and leaves with more questions than answers. The other finds it in one who has lost more than most.

As the thoughts weigh heavily on the minds of those who would kill the king, and two groups begin their journey, death prepares for them all.

What’s a writer to do when the words stop flowing for the current chapters?

Answer: For me it was finally taking a moment to do a fit test the last cross stitch I finished.

The scales are slowing to their final positions, but before they do, one plotter's biggest secret must be revealed, and another must decide if they can accept the consequences of moving forward with the one they love.

Had a very Eldritch-y walk into work this morning thanks to being super early.

Hearing the bright, tinny ting of a bicycle bell a la the ‘50s as a soldier in camo and tactical glasses rode by. The unseen creatures stirring the black water into whirlpools. The lone crow swooping silently to land on a streetlight.

Very comfortably, chills up the spine terrific

That feeling when you throw in that Princess Bride reference in its exact context because why the hell not, it fits with scene.

But yes, chapter 16 is well on its way toward the finish line (and working its way to being split again thanks to the length).

The golden scales continue to rock. The side they will land on rests on quiet conversations and moments softened by golden straws of hay. The only witnesses, those whose language only two in the kingdom understand.

For one of the plotters, the path to the future lies in trust and overcoming the shame ingrained in the past he is just beginning to remember.

For another, it rests on newly discovered gifts and the need to prevent atrocities against the ones she loves.

For the sorcerer caught in the middle, it is a question of fate, fidelity, and the alluring promise of freedom to be who he is and openly love the one man who might be able to fully accept what he truly is.

So….yeah….

Started editing Ch 15 (The Golden Scales of Justice - Part 2) of Golden Hair/Golden Eyes while drinking my coffee this morning and it’s already about 300 words longer.

Hoping to get it fully edited for a Thursday release. And good news, bad news situation. There’s a part 3. And that part is well on its way. Mostly because some of those scenes were written like a month ago.

So hopefully I can get Ch 4 of Golden Sideburns and Side-eyes “A Not So Grave-Robbery” out at the same time.

The die has been cast, and more than one slain. Dissension whispers in the shadows of the castle while traitors walk its halls.
