When I was a student, I didn't understand why I was interested in history. No one my age liked it; they thot it was boring. Today I am aware! Knowing history helps avoid mistakes in the future, and apparently, many people urgently need an intensive history lesson.

EFEITO NEGATIVO
Quem sobrevive… muda. Você está pronto?”
“One ordinary morning in Lordsburg. An empty gas station. An entire town… gone. Noah wakes up alone in the New Mexico desert and discovers the world has vanished. No clues. No bodies. No signal. Driven by an instinct he barely recognizes, he heads to Silver City and reunites with Annabelle — the woman who once marked his past and now carries the same secrets. Heightened senses, inhuman strength, and a silence that screams. What happened to humanity? And why did only a few survive… changed? NEGATIVE EFFECT — the thriller that will make you question the air you breathe.
The Challenge of Fiction in Brazil: Between Numbers and Passion It is a fact we cannot ignore: the Brazilian public, on average, reads little. When we narrow this statistic down to the fiction genre, the scenario seems even tighter, especially among the male audience, who often prioritize pragmatic readings such as investments, biographies, or historical facts. At first glance, for those who write invented worlds, this could be a cause for discouragement. But I prefer to look at it from another angle.
The fascinating aspect of this scenario is that the fiction reader in Brazil is possibly the most engaged of all. He doesn't just consume the work; he inhabits it, discusses it, defends it, and creates communities around it. That passion is the light at the end of the tunnel. It is the niche that, although smaller in quantity, compensates with a loyalty and depth that the "casual reader" of technical manuals rarely possesses.
I am an optimist by nature. I believe we are not in a dead end, but in a moment of transition of tools. Platforms like Wattpad, Inkitt, Spirit Fanfics, Scriv, and WebNovel are democratizing access and, more importantly, creating the habit. They are the new breeding grounds for talent and the meeting point for a generation that wants new, fast, and vibrant stories. Reversing the game won't be easy, it never has been. But lamentation does not write chapters. If we just sit around complaining about the lack of readers, the void will only tend to grow.
For me, the simple act of publishing is already a monumental victory. In a country with so many obstacles to culture, putting your ideas on paper and making them available to the world is an act of resistance. If what I write can touch, inspire, or entertain even a single person, my mission will have been accomplished. Writing, after all, is an act of connection.
We move forward, one character at a time. As the classic would say: "Live long and prosper" to all of us who still believe in the power of stories.
O Desafio da Ficção no Brasil: Entre Números e Paixão É um dado que não podemos ignorar: o público brasileiro, em média, lê pouco. Quando
