So! I'm visiting my uncle, and we went to Lidl.
Where I saw...
This:
I laughed so hard for like 10 minutes. XD
Totally unexpected xD Just out of the blue.
Today was a good day.
And they really thought they ate with this ending like it’s so crazy…
Y’all literally Job’d the fuck out of us.
It's a rule - I see it on my dashboard, I reblog
gleeful reminder that THESE are buffy's favorite vampires, deep down and minus the vampirism
(reblogs appreciated!)
Just saw this snippet of a Terry Pratchett interview about the reversal of the deaths in Good Omens and it floored me.
This convinces me more than anything that the ending we got is not what he would have wanted.
the scoobies meeting
giles: buffy, what is spike doing there?
buffy: he is my emotional support vampire.
giles: you already had one, didn`t he prove to be trouble enough for you?
buffy: in my defense the other one wasn`t emotional or supportive...
Ooookay here I go again xD
I'm once again thinking about Good Omens 'season' 3. This time different though.
Clara Oswald once told the Doctor that "Hatred is too strong an emotion to waste on someone you don't like". (Doctor Who, 2005, Season 8 episode 8 Mummy on the Orient Express) (Btw. Doctor Who - strongly recommend. :D And DT is there. And Michael too. Although in just one episode in season 6)
Or in this case 'something' I guess. Anyway - Hate requires too much energy to waste on people and things who simply don't matter to you.
Madonna - I think - also is famous for saying that it doesn't matter what people say what matters is that they talk (about you).
So... Considering both I think we should collectively start simply ignoring GO3. Not talk about it (I think we already said enough. It's crap, end of story), not give it any more of our time, our energy, our peace, be completely indifferent.
Let it die.
Let it be dead and buried and forgotten.
I'm starting today. :)
I'm sitting alone at train station in this massive heat and I'm bored so I started thinking...
How simillar GO3 and Star Wars last part of the sequels are.
Hear me out guys.
Both cases are the third instalment of respective media. (SW is a double trouble here as this is third instalment of the third trilogy)
Both cases are bloody awful. (In my opinion)
In both cases everything that came before is retconned, changed and/or ignored.
In both cases all or almost all characters are completly OOC and/or suffered character regression.
In both cases if you don't like it you are called 'media illiterate', 'not a true fan', 'tasteless' or something like that or all of the above.
In both cases the main couple/ship was treated like shit and simply ruined / deleted.
In both cases fandom was hyped to the maximum just to be let down. (Or at least some part of it)
In both cases fanfiction is SO MUCH BETTER (why those people are not getting hired? Paid? How come the guy who wrote it, either, got money even tho it's s#.t?)
And in my case - in both cases it's easier to just pretend the cursed piece of media doesn't exist at all than trying to make sense of it as canon.
Well...
So there is over 350 ffs with season 3 fix it tag.
I haven't read them all yet (I probably will) but I know for sure, for 100%, every single one is worlds better than what they're trying to push as 'canon'.
it surprises me when people call the ending “not homophobic” simply because it leaves two men in a romantic relationship. the problem is not that anthony and asa fell in love with each other. the problem is that aziraphale and crowley, characters with one of the most unusual and deeply developed queer stories in modern fantasy, were sacrificed for it
a romance between two men does not automatically make a story good representation. especially when those characters are reduced to a set of generic traits: they are kind, they love each other, and that is basically it. we have already seen countless stories like that, and this is not just about gay relationships. people loved aziraphale and crowley not because they were a couple. they loved them as individuals: complex, contradictory characters with their own dynamic, history, and personalities that developed over many years. that is why it feels so strange to watch them be replaced with a flatter version of the same idea
to me, bad representation is not the absence of a kiss. it is when unique queer characters are erased in favor of a safer and more conventional romantic story. that is a disservice to the fandom
How could they fuck up absolutely everything?! The characters’ personalities, their motivations, the core themes that Good Omens is built on, the atmosphere, and even fan expectations (and they called this finale a “gift for fans”. I wouldn’t even bring up fan expectations if it hadn’t been promoted that way). They messed up absolutely everything. That genuinely takes talent, no other way to put it.
So I've just finished 'season' 3 of Good Omens.
I'm gonna put a cut here because it can be taken as a spoiler.
Be warned.
There are 2 types of fanfic:
fanfic that I like
fanfic that is none of my business

Like I don't think you guys comprehend what happened in Poland just now but everyone needs to be talking about it.
A random influencer decided he'll listen to an anti cancer song on loop. People liked it enough times he ended up listening for 9 days.
He raised 90 million in these 9 days, and then 160 million more over the last 10 hours, for a total of 250 million.
Hundreds and thousands of people signed up to donate marrow.
Hundreds of celebrities shaved their heads in solidarity.
The Foundation receiving this money had to create a special commission to figure out how to distribute the money.
The national TV stations got highjacked to stream this for hours because it was better news than anything happening in the world.
Because we broke and DOUBLED the world record for this kind of thing.
They raised about as much as the biggest running charity event in Poland did in a whole year with three decades of tradition and a goddamn army of people.
And they did it on a goddamn amateur set up in a shabby room sitting on folding chairs.
Let me be misinformed by the people as god intended
Okay so I’m just going to say it a little more bluntly:
The idea that the level of love for Rose that exists within the fandom is racist is really quite ridiculous when you realize that no one says the same thing about River or Clara. And Clara also had a Black companion come after her who isn’t nearly as popular. It was difficult for Martha to gain popularity because she came right after the Doctor lost Rose and ANYONE who tried to come after Rose was gone with anything resembling a romantic dynamic was going to struggle to gain traction in the fandom.
And no, the in universe Tenth Doctor isn’t racist. He is an alien whose mind encompasses countless time periods of countless planets. He would naturally forget some of what earth racism looked like while in a state of intense grief. No one says Twelve is racist for not trying to break time to bring Bill back to life. And Ten is absolutely not racist for being unable to be emotionally available to the first person he travelled with after he lost the first deep relationship he formed since the Tine War.
So, the people who want to be disingenuous will continue doing so. But don’t ever feel like you are participating in racism because you believe Rose Tyler is exceptionally important to the show and/or the Doctor.
Sincerely, a mixed Black and Indian daughter of an immigrant.
