I Choose to Live

  Looking forward, I see the past

            Seeking first, I come in last

                        Faltering dreams, of endless reason

                                    Broken Bread, that mends the treason

Passions pursued, in a rubicon maze

            Flashing blindness, in a maddening haze

                        Over and over, like gnats to the light

                                    To suffer death, in a grayed twilight

Can hope still come?

            Is peace to be found?

                        Can life spring forth where sin has abound?

I could not see, I was so lost

            I ignored my Spirit, and paid the cost

                        Consequence and lamentation

                                    All pointing to, the Lord of creation

Tangible Mercy and loving Grace

            I see it now, on my Savior’s face

                        On bended knee, my heart I give
