Forgive yourself if today was a bad day.
Forgive yourself if things didn’t go according to plan.
Forgive yourself, even if you feel like you messed up.

What I’ve learnt throught AUSMAT???
Hello peepooo !!! So November has been a extremely stressful month for me because i had my final AUSMAT exam which was WACE. Back in August, when I was preparing for my final exam in college, I had been reflecting on what I’ve learnt in AUSMAT, so i decided to make this mini list teehee
Things I’ve learnt :
1. How to be alone / maybe have one friend with you Most of the time in college, I spent on my own or with a close friend. It’s not weird to be alone like seriously, but if you feel like you’re out of the place, you could always put on your earphones / airpods and listen to music. Or otherwise, you could head to the library to study and keep yourself as busy as possible 😉
2. How to studehhh ?? My favourite method was to read and make my own notes then only attempt the questions. Read -> notes -> manual. It takes ages to study in this manner to be honest but you can have a better understanding of everything.
3. Consistency is really fucking important in AUSMAT. It’s not like A-levels where everything counts during your final external exams. Everything you do in AUSMAT no matter internal or external, everything counts. Soooo, consistency is always to key for you in AUSMAT in order to achieve an above average or good results in AUSMAT.
4. Listening to music is a good choice 👍🏻 I always listen to KPOP genre or jazz genre when I study. Not sure why I like to study with KPOP music, but everyone has their own preference right? Haha so yeah listen to something that brightens you up in your dull day, or listen to something when you can’t focus on your studies 😉not guaranteed 100% that it will work but it’s worth the try !
5. You don’t have to like hanging out yo 🤭
I’m sure during college, you are bound to have a lot of friends going clubbing and all. To be honest, you can just be you. You don’t have to like clubbing nor should you try to fit in with your friends. During weekends, diving deep into your storybooks with a cup of tea would also be fantastic already 🤭
6. Last but not least, AUSMAT is like a 1 year Marathon, not a god damn 100m dash. Consistency will get you where you need to go. Even if you don’t achieve that PERFECT ATAR, it’s not the end of the world. There’s always alternative pathways for you to chose from.
Cheers ! 🍻

losing people to love yourself, is it worth it??
If you were to ask me this question when I was in primary to lower secondary, I would have told you no, it’s not worth it. Cause losing people means you’re gonna be lonely.
When you are younger (roughly between 7-15years old) , you would want to have more people around you, more friends, this is just a sense of security, a sense of belonging, a sense of membership. When you are in a group with a lot of people , it feels like you belong to something bigger than yourself. Therefore, we conform to group standards in order to be part of the group, or to be accepted by the group. It goes the same for me too. Back then, I just wanted a group of friends so I could look cool and powerful. I always tried to fit in, so I could be accepted by my friends.
As time goes by, the older you grow, you’ll realise that having a lot of friends is not necessarily a good thing (not that I’m saying it’s bad). Like more dramas, more arguments, more disagreements and so on. Sometimes it might be something like “why you always can’t hang out with us?”, “why are you so pussy, it’s just alcohol” or maybe “you’re such a boring person” that leads you to lose your friends. For those who are low in confidence, of course they would conform, in order to fit in to the group. For people like me, I would choose to walk away and find my own path.
Especially teenagers, we are so insecure about our own capabilities & confidence or “who am I?”, which leads us to make wrong decisions in life. Some wrong decisions may lead you to a dead end where there is no turning back. As for some wrong decisions are just lessons for us to learn.
We are afraid to let go of people cause we are scared that we’ll be alone. But let me tell you something, everytime you let go, there are bound to be better things ahead , waiting for you. You just have to trust yourself. Learn to love yourself more and live more ❤️ cheers!

LIFE TIPS PT. I
if it takes less than two minutes, do it now
always carry a water bottle!! you’ll (obviously) drink more water but you’ll also save money on buying drinks when you’re out on hot days
if you notice something you like about someone, tell them. genuine compliments are way too few and far between.
when you meet someone, repeat their name back to them. it’ll help you remember it (bc i am the worst at zoning out and immediately forgetting someone’s name)
give yourself a time limit to get work done. you’ll do more up against a 30 minute timer than if you have all day to get something done
also: be specific with your goals. if you want it done by winter, say you’ll do it one november 15. it’s easy to let time slip by.
no one’s forcing your friends to hang out with you. they want to be around you. don’t try to convince yourself otherwise.
never under estimate the power of a hot meal if you’re feeling unmotivated. take a break and make a grilled cheese dude
always keep $20 in your car for emergences
have a binder/folder to keep all your financial/important documents together. even if you don’t organize them beyond that it’ll make them so much easier to find when you need them
don’t sleep w makeup on!! keep a travel size thing of makeup wipes by your bed for nights that you’re too exhausted to wash your face for real
if you’re studying/working and can’t focus, go outside and take a walk around the building. stare at the sky for a minute. it helps.
networking: when you meet someone, put some notes in with their contact. remembering their kids’ names will make you stand out
fold your clothes while they’re still warm + you won’t have to iron later
get that chair out of your room. we all know your dirty clothes are sitting in it more than you are.
instead, stick some hooks on your closet door for those sorta-clean, sorta-dirty clothes that you wanna wear again
keep a running list on your phone of songs you hear that you like, books you want to read, etc
write down all your friends birthdays!!
if you can’t sleep, try to imagine something in great detail. design your dream house. plan your wedding. whatever makes you happy + relaxed
get dressed as soon as you get up, even if you aren’t going anywhere. it’s hard to feel productive in sweat pants.
if you don’t ask, the answer is always no
thrift stores are super trendy lately, but they really are great for finding high-quality clothing for cheap.
don’t read the comments section. especially if it’s something you actually care about.
fresh veggies go bad fast, so if you can’t get to the store often have a couple frozen bags of your favs on hand!!
also, pasta is crazy cheap and easy to make into a meal. add some olive oil and those frozen veggies and bam, grown up meal in no time.
be intentional with your friendships. if you want to see someone again, set a date instead of the old “let’s get coffee sometime!” that never actually happens
libraries exist!! and theyre fantastic!!!
if you’re buying anything, always google “_______ coupons” while you’re in line. you can usually find one, esp at chains!!
if it’s not something you need, put it back and sleep on it. if you want it bad enough to go back and get it a day or two later, it’s (probably) worth the money.
also, think if you’ll enjoy it for the same amount of time if took to earn that money. doesn’t work with everything (food, experiences), but for things like clothes/technology/home goods, it can help you save some $$$
you don’t have to do something if it makes you unhappy. sure, there are times that you have to suck it up and power through, but 99% of the time you have to option to say no and get outta there.
be kind. seriously you hear it a lot but it is so important.

D-27 to my last day of work, here at Kuen Cheng High School Co-Curricular Department.
I had learnt and grown a lot during my tenure at the school no matter as a student or a staff.
Despite at some times working here has a lot of peer pressure but it taught me to be someone better and greater ☺️
Gonna welcome the next chapter of my life after leaving here.
