[ Her gem glows faintly as she waves her hands out to her sides, summoning her wings. Her knees bend slightly before she launches herself into the air, up to the top of the light house. There were a lot of awkward feelings that came with that accidental fusion, and what she felt she needed right now was to get away from Jasper. Away from everyone. ]
Jasper has half a mind to reach out, to stop her from leaving, to plead; upset as she is about what happened, Jasper doesn’t want to lose the comfort she has with Lapis, doesn’t want to see that rare calm shattered any further than it already was. But, right then, Jasper is in no position to ask Lapis for anything, and all she can bring herself to do is stare after Lapis’s retreating form until it disappears.
Pathetic.
Shaking her head, Jasper looked down at herself for a moment, half expecting to find that their brief fusion had left her body as broken as the first time had, but physically she feels no different, gets to her feet without strain. The only hurt is the emotional sort, and – well, that kind ought to be easy to ignore. Ought to. Squaring her shoulders (and strictly ignoring the large part of her that is tempted to simply lay there in the sand until the tide comes in) Jasper turned and headed back into the temple.
