The Elgang as NPCs
If this has been done before, then I apologize. I’m not trying to copy anyone’s ideas. Any similarities to older posts are only coincidence, as I’m not aware of any posts that are like this one.
An AU where the Elgang members never met and aren’t together. Instead, they’re NPCs working at shops or doing other side things.
Elsword is a member of the Red Knights, but spends most of his time in the camps to train new recruits. His swordsmanship is impressive, although he does get a little impatient with trainees that can’t keep up with him. That being said, his harsh training methods are effective at motivating people to do better. Rumor has it that his sister trained him like this, which would explain his behavior.
Aisha is Sander’s local alchemist, and arguably one of the best in Elrios. As a master of the four elements, she helped to improve Sander’s desolate climate and add more vegetation to the land. She’s not all about climate though; thanks to her extensive research into demonic magic, Aisha has invented many new potions that are designed specifically to ward off demons.
Rena is a traveling accessory merchant who trades for rare artifacts. As an elf, she uses her own skills to create elven ornaments that are not only beautiful, but also carry a bit of magic. Some have healing properties, while others can help crops grow better. Such products are extremely rare in Elrios, so people are willing to pay huge sums of money for them.
Raven still seeks revenge against those who took everything away from him. However, he’s also on a mission to rid the world of injustice and criminals. He leads the Mercenary Knights across Elrios in search of convicts to execute. While he has successfully brought down many big crime bosses, his methods have occasionally put innocent people in harm’s way. In Raven’s eyes, the ends justify the means.
After Eve failed to properly revive the Nasods in Altera, she moved on in search of other fallen Nasods. One day, she accidentally stumbled into a hole in the fabric of time and space and ended up in Elysion. The Nasods at Atlas Station and the surrounding areas recognized her as royalty and immediately submitted themselves to her. That was 10,000 years ago. Now, she runs Atlas station with Moby and Remy to ensure that no intruders pass through.
Back at the Hamel Capital, things are not going well. Chung once proudly defended his home against the demon invasion, but after he heard that his father had joined the demons, he went out to investigate himself. He was subsequently captured and corrupted, suffering the same fate as his father. He’s now a mindless drone assigned to destroy Hamel. If only a certain group of adventurers were there to help him…
There’s still hope! The Red Knights and the Hamel guardians have spread stories about an assassin who is operating independently against the demons. Some claim to have seen it before, if only for a brief moment. However, since no one has ever gotten a good look at it, there’s dispute over who, or what, this assassin is. Is it a girl? Or is it a fox? A spirit? Perhaps a combination of all these things? Who knows. Still, her existence would explain the sudden disappearance of some high-ranking demon commanders.
Elesis has risen to become the leader of the Red Knights. Right now, her mission is to take back Velder from demon control. They’re doing pretty well, as they’ve driven the demons back to the Hamel border. Once Elesis is finished here, she’ll provide support for Hamel’s troops. Victory is within their grasp!
Very few people have encountered Add. As the ruler of Henir’s Time and Space, he resides in an alternate dimension. Occasionally, he’ll open up portals to the Elrios dimension to see what people are up to. He tries not to do this too much though, since it warps the fabric of reality in potentially dangerous ways. For example, there was one time he accidentally transported a Nasod into the Elysion dimension. Oops.
Luciela became one of the top demon commanders after leading a coup d’état against Karis and sealing her powers. She then took control in Sander, where her mission is to revive Behemoth and use it to destroy Elrios. She needs to hurry though, as Aisha’s efforts have already forced the demons to retreat several times. Camped in a remote section of the desert, Luciela devises a new plan to help her army regain the upper hand…
Ciel was a former assassin, but he’s decided to settle down and become a blacksmith. He doesn’t stay in one location; he moves from town to town to help out other blacksmiths with whatever problems they have. At the same time, he crafts and sells weapons to his own customers. His gun-blades are especially popular. He’s also a great chef and will often sell food in case wandering travelers are hungry for more than just weapons.
Similar to Ciel, Rose sells weapons, but she specializes in guns and cannons. No one has ever seen weapons crafted like this before, so she gets lots of orders. However, she’s careful about who she accepts orders from. She doesn’t want to sell weapons to suspicious people or evil demons. Also, she’s sometimes hard to reach because she often goes out on secret missions of her own.
Concept challenge: what would be the new player characters in this au? that’s an interesting question
also what happened to Ain and Laby? I think Laby probably stayed the same since she was pretty removed from the elgang, but Ain sure as heck wasn’t
