SINNERS (2025) — dir. Ryan Coogler
The Making of Disco Elysium - Part Three: Writing
"One of the things we discovered about worlds, art, characters, and mysteries over that time […] is that you really cannot have a concrete answer to anything very interesting; you only need to have theories. Alan Moore says the same thing in From Hell: ‘We will never know who Jack the Ripper is. He will be a superposition of all our theories about who he could have been. That is the extent of our knowledge.’ And that keeps mysteries mysterious. That's also Epistemology, that's how knowledge works. You only have these theories, and some seem more likely or more adequate at certain times. […] But the other thing is: it can't be only that tool. There needs to be an actual preference from the storyteller, like a " word of God" thing. But the storyteller can never tell it directly to the people who hear the story. Lynch does this in Mulholland Drive. There's this DVD where he gives clues about how you should watch Mulholland Drive. And they in no way help you descipher Mulholland Drive. But what they do tell you is that Lynch isn't just throwing stuff at you to be dreamy. There is an underlying logic, and there is a preference there. And if it's this way - if it's both open and systemic - then you can have your cake and eat it. This is also representative of what mysteries are like in the real world. We know there's an actual truth about what happened. We can't get to it. And we have to deal with the superposition of possibilities."
Hardness and strength are death’s companions. Flexibility and softness are the embodiment of life. That which has become hard shall not triumph.

Rabbit Fk and his imaginary friends: Sch, F, water bottle and pork chop with peas// by Linor Goralik
They had Ellie and Dina seriously talk about a man's feelings in the tent scene?
What the fuck is this shit? No one gives a flying fuck about Jesse's feelings.
And the queerbaiting going on? Dina teasing Ellie saying she's back with Jesse?
Having them recite lines from the game where they were intimate but not actually allowing them to be intimate?
Feels extremely regressive. Which is highly disappointing for such a subversive game.
I know they're slowing the relationship down for the show, but idk it feels weird and gross the way they're going about it.
My honest reaction
honey, i rose up from the dead. i do it all the time.

@tellmeallaboutit's sweet baby angel Judith after orally raping the hubby and smearing his cum all over his face (she's so real for that)
This clip recommended by @xiaodidi gives me mad Judith vibes
What if my desire to do evil becomes stronger than I am?
when the protagonist of a novel is an insufferable cunt and also a woman
I wear those as my little badges of honour. Glory to problematic female protagonists!
Idc at this point, the second-hand embarrassment I'm getting from these screenshots is too visceral 🥴 Like, okay, Anya is kinda pathetic—and she's supposed to be—but reprehensible? She's being manipulated, driven mad, and abused on a daily basis by a fucking devil, who she believes will soon have the whole world under his thumb, ergo, resistance is futile! She doesn't believe in herself and has no support system—no friends, and her mother doesn't truly understand her (and will be harmed first if the heroine does anything stupid). She's alone and infatuated and confused and broken on so many levels like are we reading the same work, hello?
Don'ttt even get me started on Judy, I will obliterate anyone who comes for her.
От этих кристально-белых польт на скринах аж глаза заслезились.
UPD 1: Yeaah, so I read the sixteenth chapter of "knock knock", therefore I will let the 'reprehensible' comment slide (very generous of me, I know). Still, I personally have compassion for Anya and stand by what I wrote above (mostly).
Judy is my pookie wookie, full stop.
UPD 2: Yeeaaaaaaah, I kinda knew she was going to kill him, so the seventeenth chapter wasn't a surprise in that regard, but HELL, I thought I could put more blame on Raphael... He can still choke on a bag of dicks, dgmw, but man, is she thick as a brick AND fucked up beyond repair... Glory to problematic female protagonists tho—at least when it comes to art!
UPD 3: Well, I wouldn't say she redeemed herself, but ... 😈
UPD 4: HWLL is read, and I'm happy to say that I've grown to love Judy even more (including in ways I didn't even expect), despite the fact that this is a story about a character's moral downfall. I've never been so captivated by a female character in fanfiction, let alone someone's OC. She's an icon, she's a legend, and she is the moment. She's also my cutesy pie.
