Rent is due tomorrow, and we have big bills due next week, particularly our power bill which have gotten outrageous. With my disability hearing pending (for....6-9 fucking months) we continue to be stuck in a loop of deprevation.

I am a bedridden chronically ill black trans man, living with two other trans people, one of which is also disabled and unable to work. My partner works fulltime, often overtime, to support us, but it is never enough because they are paid a pittance.

Any help goes so far and i am always so so grateful. If you'd like to help keep us housed and fed this winter and have the means, my paypal is [email protected]! Venmo is zawehzaweh. You have no idea how much it means to us any time someone helps us even a little bit.

I'm cross-posting this from bluesky, but in short over the last few years i have been unable to afford healthcare or insurance and my longstanding heart problems have developed into something more serious that have required a lot more urgent medical attention. a high stress environment has only exacerbated this effect.

up until now i have been able to pay it with credit and freelance work but the rising costs of healthcare in the US have put me in a rough spot. I am generally a pretty private person, so I am not proud of myself for begging online but since i live alone and have been bed-ridden for a few weeks I have run out of options. thank you for any help you can afford, i know how difficult it is for everyone right now.

I know that no one here knows me or knows I exist, but I could really use this...

Etsy disabled my shop because they fucked up their authentication system. Historically, I used one method, and they forced me into another method without informing me. This meant I couldn't access my account for three months.

I had to fight for three months to log in, but I also lost revenue and was shadow-banned because I missed getting back to potential customers...

I have clinical OCD. I care deeply about customer service and quality. This has been nerve-racking on my mental health.

I have a $2-6k necessary abdominal surgery coming up. I've lost my primary income... I work part-time at a job that exacerbates my abdominal pain and have to sneak in extra hours to squirrel away money...

My shop helped cover expenses here and there. Even if you don't have money (I understand), a boost would be invaluable.

I'm desperate for any kind of silver lining at this point...

So how does a commission scam work? You’ll get asks like this from blank blogs who didn’t see your commissions posts and instead are programmed to send these to anyone using certain tags. Afterwards, they’ll offer you $300 to draw a pet but won’t use your preferred payment option. Instead, they’ll ask for your email address. What happens next? You’ll get a phishing email claiming to be from PayPal saying you need to upgrade your account and when you click the link you’ll compromise your account details to the scammer who will then try to get your money. You will not be paid for your work at the scammer will then move on to someone else and block you.

If someone was really interested in commissioning you, they would already know the answer if they seen your post about it.

So what can you do? Block bots like this and warn other artists.
