What happened to 2018?
I am struggling
Hey guys! Sorry ive been a little inactive, judt back from holiday and whatnot.
This post is dedicated to Bernie my beautiful boy who turns 2 today! Hes such a gem and hes grown so so much, makes me happy. Hes dedinitely getting treated extra today!🌻🌻
Me after studying for five (5) minutes:
Genuninely tho...
the medical students'network
I haven’t seen an active network for medical students (and pre-meds) internationally, so I decided to create one!
What is the network for?
The medical students’ network is a place for students of medicine worldwide – to support each other, to share tips, to discuss and to grow as future professionals. Having a good supporting network is one of the most crucial steps in improving your university experience, especially in a subject as stressful and demanding as Medicine. It can also work as an additional factor of motivation!
How do we communicate?
Through Discord or another instant communication platform, a poll regarding that is included in the membership application. We will also have a separate blog/website for the network.
Who can apply?
Anyone who is currently studying medicine or on the so-called “pre-med” track. All nationalities are welcome, seeing medical education from an international perspective is so interesting.
Where can I apply?
You can find the application form here.
Application are open until the 5th of April.
Good luck, I’m very excited about this!!
Didn't post yesterday (sorry) but heres some pics from my time in Turkey so far!
Revising is lot harder than I thought. Theres so much things to do, and exams just seem like a distant problem. However, I do feel like keeping a planner has been helpful so, heres some top tips to study whilst on holiday!
Top Tips studying on holidy/vacation
1. Before you go, create a list of goals you are going to achieve.
This may sound pretty self explaonitory, but make sure you dont put way too much to do down, abd think about the time you have. You will not have time to do 4 essays in one day. You have limitted time, which brings me to my second tip.
2. Make sacrifices
Yes, you are on holiday and want to laze about, but waking up really early is an effective way to get stuff done and still have time to explore throughout the day! I wake up an hour before my family, and granted I get less done because im tired, but less is always better than none.
3. Dont make too many sacrifices
Right, bit contradictory, but its still a holiday. Wake up early, and study, and you can also study at night. But, dont not go out because you have to study. When will be the next opportunity to go on holiday? You have to somewhat relax aswell.
4. Make use of plane time!
Dont put anything distracting in your hand luggage, only revision. Therefor you have a few hours at least of solid revision with no distractions. Also if you can get it all done, you can take some of the load off of your holiday day revision!
5.create a message, something motivational.
Trust me, whilst on holiday, exams hardly cross my mind becausw theyre so distant and not an everyday problem here. Therefore on my planner I personally use a fearful message of the consequences if I dont study. Or you can find a quote to use which works for you!
6. Have accountability
Wether that means creating a studyblr or revising with your parents in the hotel room, dont sit at a desk and do nothing, it'll stress you out vv much.
7.study outside if its nice!
Dont coop yourself up, enjoy the sun!
Overall, have a good time and if you need a hand. You can always message for a chat and we can motivate eachother.
Early morning study session!! An update from anyone who read my last post, the funny egg did not get me ill, and today we've actually booked a tour of the waterfalls and to go to Antalya city centre!
Im super excited, and might share some photos with my next post, so be prepared dudes! (waterfall time😎 )
Anyway, back to study talk: maths. Trigonometric equations and identities. Aahhhhh jeeez.
Hey guys! New scene here today because I made it to Turkey!
Ive been here for
Less than 24 hours
And i possibly have food poison from eating a funny egg. Greeeaat.
Also PSA, if you ever want recognition for your studying, go onto a flight filled with tipsy people. The amount of hand shakes and well done from people walking down the aisle is actually hilarious. An experience to say the least.
Also if anyone who is a maths wiz ould message me, thats be a god send because higher maths is slightly hellish and by slightly, I mean all my notes might aswell be written in swedish because I do not understand a thing. BUT WE WILL GET THROUGH.
We all need a studdy buddy to get us through...
¡hola! a while back, i asked for spanish song recommendations to help me improve my spanish listening skills, and you guys went wild! there were so many songs to the point where a masterpost of them would be far too long, so i’ve compiled all them into a 4 hour playlist. thank you so much!
// listen here
Ya'll gotta agree that trying to take a pic of notes without a lighting line is vv hard...
History tody guys! Going over the experience of different emmigrants in Scotland! *fun*
Cannot wait to drop History, is there any subjects you guys cant wait to drop? Mine has to be maths and history.
me: /has 378 pages of reading on social, economic, and poltiical theory to summarise, understand, and apply to an essay due thursday/
me: /had the entire spanish language to learn/
me: /has 4 different journo class articles due friday/
me: This is a good day to file fold my drawers, colour block my wardrobe, detail my car, run ten miles, tone my hair, and deep clean my kitchen
We can all relate...
Right so the quality of my pics look good when I post, but scrolling through, they look very bad. Would someone be kind enough to say if its bad for them too or if its okay? P.s: flashcards are very good study tools
Hey guys! 36 days til my first exam, what about you?
(sorry for shoddy quality, will fix)
