"About time you showed up." Mateo jokes as he stands up from the table he had been sitting at and smiles at the person who agreed to meet him for lunch. "Order whatever you want, it's on me." He adds as he sits back down. "Tell me, what's new with you?" @ggstarterblog
"Shut up, Mateo." She laughs. "Really nothing is going on with me." She shrugs. "How are you?"
Garrett laughed at the joke that his friend told him and he shook his head. "Thanks for this." He says to them with a smile. "Seriously, I don't know the last time I was able to relax like this. It's...nice, refreshing." @ggstarterblog
"Of course, Garrett!" Brittany smiles at him. "Sometimes a change is just what everyone needs, you know?"

"Do I get brownie points if I don't know who you're talking about, but pretend that I do?" She looks at him. "they sound awful."
Nesta smiles at the question and shakes your head. "It is, but remember, it also depends on your status, kust like everywhere else." She tells her. "It's called an Aunt Roberta. Has a few different kinds of liquors in it."
"Oh I've had that before, they are extremely gross." She laughs. "And I guess it's good to know that the human race will never change, status always matters."
"Well, you can always try to talk to her. I mean, not just through text." She suggests. "You know Imogen is stubborn as shit, Britt."
"I know she is, and I'm trying to talk to her, but like you said, she's stubborn."
Ren looked down and chuckled. "Mom and I are really hoping that things start to look up for us and the investigation. I won't give up until I have cleared his name." He said and looked determined. "He's not the type to get drunk without company nor would he drive in that state so we believe he was innocent but you're right, we just wanna figure out what really happened that night."
"Well, why not ask one of the people with powers for your help?" She suggestes. "I think some of them can tell when people lie or some shit like that."
"It really does." Annabelle agrees and smiles at Brittany. "How are you doing, Brittany?"
"I..I guess I'm doing okay." Brittany looks at Annabelle. "There's just some drama going on and I hate it."
Imogen: Oh fuck off, you said you hated me Imogen: Why the fuck would I want to talk to you?
Brittany: Becuase I have a good reason as to why I did so! Brittany: Please, Imogen, you have to believe me.
Maeve was outside at the café enjoying the beautiful weather as she sipped her latte. She let out a soft sigh and looked over to the person beside her. “I am so happy I have this week off. Im planning on making the most of it.” @ggstarterblog
"Well I'm glad you have the week off, time off is always a must."
"I can't believe that actually happened." Annabelle shook her head as she watched a pissed off influencer leave the cafe she was in. "That is really pathetic." @ggstarterblog
Brittany laughed and looked at Annabelle. "Honestly, I love seeing them get humbled. It makes the world a better place."
Ren's smile softened slightly. "A potential witness came forward regarding my father's case." Even saying it aloud felt strange after all these years. "Nothing's confirmed yet but..." He looked down for a moment before letting out a quiet laugh. "It's the first genuinely promising lead I've had in a while." He slipped his hands into his pockets as they walked. "I'm trying not to get ahead of myself but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't hopeful."
"Hey, that's huge news!" Brittany smiles at him and hugs him. "I seriously hope it works out for you, Ren." She adds and takes a step back. "You deserve to know what happened, like what actually happened."
Cressida winced sympathetically. "A fight with Imogen? That sounds significantly more entertaining than boredom, but probably a lot less fun to live through."
She tilted her head, studying Brittany for a moment. "Want to tell me what happened, or are you still in the stage where you're replaying the argument and coming up with all the things you should've said?"
At the question, Cressida offered a small smile. "I'm doing alright. Mostly just observing the chaos around me and trying to decide if I should get involved or stay comfortably on the sidelines. It's a difficult decision, really." Her eyes glinted with amusement. "So far, the chaos is winning."
"Just so we're clear, I'm fighting with the model, Imogen, not the scary one with pink hair that can ride dragons. She scares the hell out of me." Brittany laughed and sighed. "I just...I might have admitted to not liking her on a livestream and it's caused drama." She looks at her hands and then at Cressida. "I hated it, I hated hurting her."
Cressida stood near the edge of the bar, her gaze drifting over the crowd as if she were searching for something more interesting than polite conversation. A faint, knowing smile touched her lips as she lifted her glass, clearly entertained by something no one else seemed to notice.
She glanced toward the nearest person, tilting her head slightly. "Tell me, is it always this dull here, or did I just arrive at the worst possible moment?" @ggstarterblog
"I wanna say it's boring, but Imogen and I are currently having a fight." Brittany sighed and looked at Cressida. "How are you though?"
"I need you to get the fuck out of my face right now. I'm literally still in college, and whatever the Bruins do, is not on me, so fuck off, before I punch you in the face." He said and watched as the drunk walked away. Walking up to the bar, he ordered a drink and looked at the person who came up to him. "Put their drinks on my tab too." @ggstarterblog
"Uh thank you." Brittany said with a nod and ordered her drink. "Do I want to know what that fight was about?"
"Nothing will ever beat the drinks that Pyrthian and the fae have, but this drink is pretty damn close, so kudos to the bartender for that." @ggstarterblog
"Is it bad that I want to go to Pyrhtian?" She asked with a smile. "Seriously, it sounds like such a fun place." She added and raised a brow. "What are you drinking?"
The detective squad room was quieter than usual, save for the occasional ringing phone and the hum of conversations from nearby desks. "We have a new witness? That's great news, Chief. I'll stop by as soon as possible. Thank you." Ren set down the phone on his desk and took a moment to process what he'd just heard. A new witness had come forward regarding his father's alleged crime. For the first time in a long while, he felt hopeful.
He was sending a text to his mom when he heard the door to his office open. Looking up from his phone, he broke into a bright smile. "Oh, hey. You're here." He slipped his phone into his pocket and stood from his chair. "Sorry, just give me a second to clock out, then we can go grab lunch. My treat." He said with a rare grin on his face. "I actually have something to celebrate." @ggstarterblog
"Well that's sweet, thank you, Ren." She smiled at him. "Can I know the good news?" She asked as she walked with him.
"I can honestly say I have not, no." Frankie told her with a laugh. "I have been so busy with work, that whenever I get home, I just crawl into bed and spend as much time with Jordan that I can before I fall asleep."
"Honestly, that sounds like the dream, not the not reading part, but climbing into bed with someone you love every night."
