Okay, lemme explain to you why this scene is so important:

Aelita’s all alone. Ulrich’s busy in the Forest Sector doing something important, and Odd and Yumi, as far as she knows, are in the real world dealing with XANA shit. She is utterly helpless, surrounded by monsters, and faced by an oncoming Scipizoa that will do horrible things to her with its tentacles.

She’s up the creek, and she know it.

But that smile, that little smile, when she sees the Scipizoa being attacked— she knows everything’s going to be okay. Because Odd’s here, and even though there are like four Krabes and a giant squid, she’ll be fine. Because she knows that Odd’s not going to let anything happen to her.
