Caleb McLaughlin the man that you are. My guy is just out here sayin “yeah stranger things was never meant to be mainstream or for a general audience and it’s always been about the weirdos freaks and outcasts” “yeah no mike and el just felt pressured to be together because everyone around them romanticized them” like I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s roaming around here on tumblr with us. He’s out here spittin his shit🗣️🗣️
"yeah stranger things was never meant to be mainstream or for a general audience"
this make no sense when the show premiere in the biggest streaming service (basically the one one at the time). It was always suppost to be mainstream.
are we forgetting that this show originally came out in 2016 ?? and the duffers didn’t know if it was even gonna get passed one season ? they did not anticipate its popularity.
No, I didn’t, because the reason the show blew up was the timing. It was 2016, there weren’t that many streaming services, and there wasn’t this overwhelming amount of “content” to choose from. Practically every Netflix original release made some noise because it was still a new thing and because it had Winona Ryder leading the cast.
The Duffers knew they had a hit on their hands, also because 80s nostalgia was at its peak at the time.

I’d probably enjoy Will’s journey a lot more if his fandom hadn’t been unbearably annoying for years.
I find it really interesting how Americans and non-Americans (especially people from the Global South) interpret Pluribus so differently.
For a lot of Americans, the show is about AI, social media and technology. But for many non-Americans, the take is a commentary on the extreme individualism in American society.
Tumblr is super big on the "I didn't say it was good, I said I liked it" but really need to discover the value in its opposite of "I didn't say it was bad, I said I hated it".
You can acknowledge that something is good, great, a masterpiece even, and just straight-up not enjoy it.
Please like and comments on youtube!!!! Thank you
Maybe once a week, I wake up paralyzed… reliving that night. But before the sun went down… I think that was the best day of my life. Was it like that for you? SINNERS (2025) dir. Ryan Coogler
I always thought Nick would die, ever since Season 1 but I expected his death to be written better than this. That was pathetic.
And it's not lost on me that every white "villain" on the show — Serena, Lawrence, Aunt Lydia — somehow got a redemption arc. Meanwhile, the racially ambiguous man was villainized in the final episodes in favor of the white characters.
Around season 2 I stop treating The Handmaid's Tale like it's this groundbreaking show about women's oppression and a vital cautionary tale, when it consistently ignores race.
This show was always made for white feminism. Some of you really need to dial back the self-importance you're projecting onto it.
In the last 3 months I started 3 Tarlos edit videos and haven't finished one.
