@xvxblahhhxvx
being a writer is basically
what I should be doing: writing
what I am not doing: writing
I have so many thoughts.
First of all, the fact that they're placing such a heavy focus on the plague is interesting. I mean, I get it was a big focal point, but I feel like most of the fifth light novel didn't really have to do with that. Like it was more in the background after they discussed it within the first few chapters. But then again, the earlier trailers of anime will tend to focus on the first few episodes, so that makes sense.
Also.
The first time I saw this frame, I had to pause and go back because I could literally tell in one second how tired this man is. Poor Jinshi, this won't be going away for a while. No wonder Maomao made him sleep!
Lol, child abuse.
No words, just appreciation.
Enter Rikuson, bane of Jinshi's existence! We're glad to have you
I also love this shot of Jinshi fighting off the locusts, because Jinshi genuinely does so much to fight them. Between the taxes, paying active attention to the state of the crops (when it was explicitly said it wasn't his job), and him going to the Western Capital for a year, Jinshi definitely deserves the cool shot.
I can't wait for October 2nd!
Welcome, always tired and overworked Jinshi.
Those dark circles under your eyes (and the scar, of course) suit you very well. Don’t worry, you’re still beautiful. Even Maomao says so.
he has possessed the body of a woman, a lesbian woman, a high school kid, a kidnapped child, another woman, a kidnapped child
FINALLY when he gets to be in the body a guy who is a similar age to him (not counting Lu) THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS TO HIM!?
Same time, same place. Be sure to come!

He looks so happy here too I feel ill (again)
This is a really lazy drawing but ohhh my god I needed to draw something after watching the new episodes
I love this cute jinmao interaction in 15 vol of the light novel. He was so sad that Maomao and the others were going out to eat noodles. But she felt bad for him and made an opportunity for the two of them to spend a bit more time together💜💚
Can't wait for vol 16 to see more of their interaction as a couple 🥺
Drew Mao Mao with her dancing dress cause ✨FLOWY✨
I wanted to draw something with all four of them in it
The 'ingredients you can pronounce means it's healthy' line implies a world in which the kind of nutrition a person requires scales with their biology education and grasp of phonics. Which isn't true, of course, but sure would imply some interesting worldbuilding if it were
(Spoilers) The story of Jinshi’s family only gets crazier when you think of how he and his father only have a 16 year age gap. Same goes for Ah-Duo. They’re both 36/37 and Jinshi is 20/21 (as of the latest light novel). So they would’ve been around 16 when the Emperor called her to his chamber and then she bore Jinshi. People get up in arms about Lishu being a baby in the beginning of the anime when she’s 14, Ah-Duo was only 2 years older when she had Jinshi. This makes it all the more tragic when you consider how Ah-Duo felt the Emperor disrespected her wishes and made her come to him though she only saw him as a friend. She felt he stole something from her and it changed their relationship forever but even she acknowledges that his freedom was taken away as well and he wanted comfort. Ultimately it’s a story of 3 young people who are thrust into a world of power and politics way too early, I think the difference here between Ah-Duo, the Emperor and Jinshi is that where they simply fell into their roles and have yet to figure a way to break them, Jinshi is fighting to remain his own person and not pull anyone else into the chaos that is the palace.
I thought the final boss of life was gonna be some criminal mastermind organization but no turns out it's the dmv
