I'm bi woman in a het relationship. I want to be better radfem and not speak over my lesbian sisters when it comes to lgb issues. What do you think would make you feel more welcome in the radfem community? What is something us het/bi women can do for lesbian radfems? What could bring the community closer together? I would like to learn. Thank you.
- don’t use lesbian terms and symbols - butch, femme, dyke, gold star, the labrys symbol + flag etc.
- don’t forcibly include yourself in spaces/posts/conversations made for lesbians
- don’t call yourself gay
- don’t redefine things and terms to include bisexuals. Let lesbians have their own things and terms.
- acknowledge that you have privilege in a patriarchal society over lesbians. I’m not telling you to self-flagellate over this. Just be aware of it. It’s not far-fetched.
- don’t insert het stuff in conversations/spaces about wlw (looking at you, people who bring I LOVE DICK signs to dyke marches).
Look through the “bi homophobia” tag on @sespursongles blog. She raises some excellent examples.
But by far the biggest thing you can do, especially if you already don’t do the things I’ve listed - is correct others doing these things.
Pronouns 👏 don’t 👏 equal 👏 gender! 👏
Gender 👏 doesn’t 👏 real! 👏

“Queer platonic ” holy shit just say friends

any bisexual people can call themselves gay and op is biphobic
Bi people cannot call themselves gay. Gay means homosexual while bi means, you know, sexual attraction to both sexes. And it’s not biphobic to point this fact out. Instead what is ridiciulously homophobic is bi people felling fucking entitled the words and symbols of gay people! I’m so done with bi people, bi women especially, stealing butch, femme, lesbian, AND gay from us gay people, not to mention the theft of the labrys to ‘battleaxe bi’. And that’s before even getting to how bi women have made wlw and sapphic words males feel comfortable using, how bi women write books about lesbians getting raped into straightness, how bi women support movies and songs where lesbians fall for men or where kissing girls is a drunk, flaunting thing for male approval. And you spend a shit ton of time on dating apps trying to get lesbian hookups (while you wait for the man you’ll eventually date) or you’re trawling for lesbians to try and get a threesome, exposing lesbians to the dick of your boyfriend. Same sex is just an exhilarating one time thing to spice up het life. Then you shame gay people for not desiring both sexes! Throwing out ‘gender essentialist’ ‘filthy cis gays’ and ‘transphobic’. Then bi people complain all the time about bi erasure and, much like you anon, are then butt-hurt when gay people point out that by calling yourself gay, you are erasing yourself and the rest of your community. In addition, bi people calling themselves gay and then dating the other sex contributes to the notion that no one is really gay, that it’s some discriminatory choice gay people make in order to hurt others. Like fuck off forever. You know how it’s easy to see that bi people have more power and more privilege than gay people despite your incessant whining to the contrary? You cannibalize our words, our symbols, our spaces and then having the FUCKING GALL to turn around and say gay people are problematic for pointing this out. I’m so fucking sick of it. Totally done. Run off to your bi friends and moan about how mean the dyke was to you I really don’t care. Mod S
Currently riddled with anxiety because I have to see my husband's stupid brother next week. He's a typical online sjw/libfem dude and hates my guts (short version: my husband put his career on hold for his mental health which was all 'orchestrated' by me because I'm apparently controlling and abusive lol). Brother is getting married soon and has this stereotypical "I'm being trapped attitude". He unironically refers to his fiance as 'the old ball and chain' and constantly complains about his wedding. One day I'll probably bite off my tongue in order to avoid starting a fight with this POS.
if you say “pride” in front of a mirror three times someone with green hair called Aiden will physically manifest inside your house to tell you that Marsha P. Johnson invented homosexuality and gave women the right to vote.
Talk shit then get fucking hit!!!
Hit someone for hurting yr fragile free go to JAIL!!!!
Enjoy your prison meals & try not dropping the soap.
How do these gendershits cope in the real world? We'd have zero advances in art and science if we responded to any form of discourse with physical violence. Imagine people beating up Darwin...
for the record I am “misgendered” on a daily basis. I have had women shout at me in public restrooms and tell me to leave multiple times, I have had men tell me I looked like a man just to irritate me, I had a trans *woman* I had never met before come up to me while I was working and ask me, “Do they make you use your deadname?” And yet despite the harassment and the casual sirs, young mans, buddys, sons, I’ve never assaulted anyone over it, and I’ve certainly never committed premeditated assault in a group over it. Why? Because I know who and what I am. I don’t need constant validation or else.
Misgendering is not violence. Most of the time it is mere ignorance, and even when intentional, harassment at most. If you think it justifies violence to any degree, not only is your insecurity pathetically astounding, it shows who you really are - an abuser looking for an excuse and an easy target.
they’re not even hiding their homophobia anymore
sorry white gays it’s not like you men are one of the largest group of hate crime victims or that you started the gay community with the mattachine society
“Sorry gay men you don’t get to have your rights movement and pride events anymore cause bored homophobic straight kids who call themselves some variety of genderqueerfluidkin said so.”
happy pride month to my lgb followers <3
@pronounrespecter 2018 keeping it real
based ray b tells it like it is
pride is a no terfs allowed event. y’all don’t respect trans women, don’t go to an event they created.
I’ve heard storys of gays/lesbians harassing trans/bis/pans/aces/genderfluids, etc etc at pride events.
Claiming pride is only for gays/lesbians and the rest of the lgbtq+ have no buisness being there or being involved.
Everyone please be respectful and remember not everything about a singular person/sexuality when going to events.
A woman dating a man is OK.
A man dating a trans woman is OK.
ANYONE CAN BE WITH WHO EVER THEY WANT
Sexuality shaming is not okay and is not funny in any sense.
lmao do you guys ever get tired of lying???? you’re the devils who harass gay ppl for not being attracted to the opposite sex at pride events. you kick lesbians out of dyke marches bc we want nothing to do with dicks.
“a woman dating a man is OK” omg where do you live where heterophobia is real?????
“a woman dating a man is OK”
A woman dating a trans woman is okay. Everybody can date whoever they want. But it also is a heterosexual relationship. The clue being in the word -sexual. A trans person can't change their sex. The relationship remains heterosexual, no matter the genders involved.
Whenever I see a woman being told to “respect pronouns” or else, I’m reminded of that text post that went “Sometimes people use respect to mean ‘treating someone like a human being’ and sometimes they use respect to mean ‘treating someone like an authority’. And sometimes people who are used to being treated like an authority say ‘If you won’t respect me I won’t respect you’ but what they mean is ‘If you won’t treat me like an authority I won’t treat you like a human being.’”
Men who demand that women “respect” their female pronouns are used to being treated like an authority and so they use that double standard in their definition of respect - “Terfs don’t respect pronouns so they don’t deserve respect” means “Women won’t treat me as an authority on womanhood so I won’t treat them like human beings.”
What about people born with chromosomes outside of the XX XY binary? Are they “other” genders or “mistakes” or just confused?
Nope, the only other anomolies that cause any combinations (or added) chromosomes outside of XX or XY is called “intersex”. Those people (who make up less than one percent of the population) have repeatedly asked not to be part of the trans movement. They are not your poster kids or tokens to prove that “other genders exist!!!!!!!! Biology is a myth!!!!”. They are individuals who have to go through hell due to a medical anomoly. Their less than one percent occurance DOES NOT prove there is anything more than Male/Female XX/XY.
I love the manipulation in this ask though, attempting to only give me the option of “anything outside xx/xy is a mistake” or something to be shunned. I’ll tell you this right off the bat, intersex and dysphoric (not self diagnosed dysphoria) transpeople will be accepted in my circles faster than any gendertrender who wants to feel special. Even so, intersex people do not want to be included with trans activism, so the argument using them as pawns is irrelevant and cruel.
> are they 'other' genders
Jesus anon, can you at least try to sound educated??! They have sex chromosome anamoly. Nothing to do with gender. Gender isn't real. Nobody is any gender.
