Prompt/Summary: “There’s been an upset somewhere, and I don’t know what it is, but it reeks of blood magic. Something like this could destroy us, and even the world.” Minecraft/Demi-God AU. The world is at peace. But the Demi-Gods feel blood in the air, and things are about to get worse than they could ever imagine.
A/N: So, I had to fix it a bit since my computer died, but here it is. Tbh, it’s better as it goes, but I needed to get the intro out of the way. Enjoy, in any case. -Xyrnys

It’s beautiful, isn’t it? The world that we helped create? The very one that we allow our feet to grace every single day. But the planet hadn’t always been so beautiful. That was the reason we were born. The world was ugly. Chaotic. Disordered. But, under Notch himself, we were born to this planet to fix the problems that his people had created. And now, this is what we have.
This is Minecraftia.
Ridgedog wasn’t sentimental, but to him, Minecraftia was simply beautiful. Even with it’s flaws, which included the careless Minecraftians, the monsters, spaceship crashes, and natural disasters, there was something wonderful about the ground beneath his feet. Though, if one were to ask him, he would deny the very thoughts that raced through his head.
However, in the serene, early-morning hours, while the outside world was still and quiet, Ridgedog felt secure in just appreciating the massive landscape. The world in which he was sent to protect. Maybe, on a good day, he did just that. But, in a way, he wasn’t like Kirindave; he chose to let the Minecraftians make their mistakes. He’d only fix something if it got dangerous, or damaging to the point where Notch would send him back to the stars if he didn’t help with repairing the damages. Luckily, Kirindave was much more willing to play babysitter most of the time; it meant that he could have the ‘caring’ part of the job, and Ridgedog was enabled to act like a fool.
It wasn’t to say that he didn’t care about the creatures that lived on the planet, because the brunette truly did. He cared too much, he’d say. But Ridgedog had a very carefree and rambunctious personality, almost to the point where it deeply annoyed those around him. After a while, it was expected of Ridgedog to play the part of the trickster and be an annoying git, so that’s the way he stayed. Unless he and Kirindave had a reason not to be, of course.
The world was seldom in true danger; the last time he could recall having to put forth any effort was when Sjin set off a Red matter Explosive in their base, threatening to eat the entire world if it wasn’t stop. It had taken the two Demi-Gods a lot of effort to stop it, and for a few days, Ridgedog and Kirindave returned to the stars to recover their physical forms, leaving the white mages in charge of watching over the planet while they were away. Now, in the peaceful setting the world was currently in, Ridgedog chose to mess around with the mages, appearing at random to flirt or cause a bit of harsh weather conditions. He would never hurt them on purpose, however, and was very careful about what he made the girls experience.
Being lost in his thoughts, Ridgedog hadn’t realized that the sun had risen completely until the voices of someone yelling from the ground below penetrated his concentration. It was at that moment that he also realized that he’d absentmindedly flown from his domain in the mountains all the way to the JAFFA factory, as the voices he could hear belonged to Xephos and Honeydew. While he couldn’t hear much, he knew they were arguing about something, and Ridgedog wasn’t willing to miss out on an opportunity to fuel the argument. Smirking, Ridgedog flew down to the land below, carefully landing in between the two. “Good morning, lads. Nice day today, isn’t it?”
“What do you want now, Ridge?” Honeydew’s voice was rough and impatient; quite fitting for a dwarf if Ridge had any say in it.
“It looks like some dwarf woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.~” Ridgedog laughed, flying just out of reach as Honeydew swung his axe at him. “Now now, little dwarf. No need for such senseless violence.”
Honeydew simply snorted, swinging his mighty axe over his shoulder. “There’s always a reason for violence when you come to visit, Ridgedog. What games do you want to play now?”
Ridgedog pouted, feigning an offended demeanor. “What, I can’t come by and visit my favorite playmates without having a bigger scheme in mind?” He laughed at Honeydew’s eye roll. “How silly of me to think that you would trust me for any reason. However, I just ended up here this morning. I’m not really here for anything, but where’s the scientist?” He glanced around, just noticing the missing body. “He’s usually out here bumbling about with you folk.”
“Lalna’s fixing a machine.” It was the blue-eyed space man who answered this time. “You know, the generator that you and Kirindave broke the last time you visited us?”
“Hm…. Generator… You know what, Xeph? It’s not really striking anything in the old memory.” Ridgedog winked at Xephos, earning a grimace in return. “But here’s what I’ll do for you. I’ll go visit Kirindave myself and see if he remembers this. Until then, I guess I can leave you to do whatever you were doing before I arrived.”
Xephos looked on in astonishment as Ridgedog started to fly away. “Wow, you really must not have planned on visiting. You haven’t disturbed Lalna’s work or broken anything yet.”
“Oh, don’t worry yourself, my dear space man.” The Demi-God smirked as he flew away. “The day’s still young, and I’ll be back. I always return, don’t I?”
Once the JAFFA factory was but a blur, he slowed down. He hadn’t wanted to cut his visit short; he was just getting to the fun part of their conversation. But another visitor had arrived, and he could tell that the visitor had something important to say.
“It’s about time you noticed me, Ridgedog.”
“Oh, my dear Kirindave.” Ridgedog winked at his horned ally. “To what do I owe this impromptu visit? You’re quite a way away from your domain.”
Kirindave merely snorted. “So are you, if you hadn’t noticed. Or have you taken up residence with the Honeydew Inc. mortals now?”
“You’re all business and no fun.” Crossing his arms, Ridgedog feigned annoyance, but he could see that Kirindave was troubled. “So, what brings you here, anyway? I know this isn’t a casual visit.”
“The natural order is upset,” the horned male responded. “There’s a stink of blood in the air, and I’m betting it has something to do with those blood mages out by Blackrock Castle.”
Ridgedog raised an eyebrow. “You came all the way out here to tell me about blood magic? Are you getting paranoid in your old age, Kirindave?”
“I’m not messing around! There’s been an upset somewhere, and I don’t know what it is, but it reeks of blood magic. Something like this could destroy us, and even the world.”
“You have my attention.”
Kirindave seemed irritated. “I don’t have any other information to give you. But I don’t see why this would be a bad time to stir up trouble.”
“What makes you say that?”
“It hasn’t been long since the world was almost destroyed by the Red Matter Explosive.” The horned Demi-God glanced Ridgedog’s way. “The spirit of the world is still a bit weak. That would make for cheap sacrifices and easy power.”
Ridgedog nodded his agreement. “If that’s the case, then maybe we should actually do something before they can gain too much power.”
“Right. Where do you suppose we start?”
“Well, I can go see Lomadia. She was closest to Rythian, after all.”
“That may make her hard to work with, I do hope you realize this.”
The brunette nodded. “But she could also be the most helpful, if everything works out.”
“Agreed. And I can take on my human guise and go visit Strife.” He turned away from his companion. “Let’s meet back up in your domain, Ridgedog. Mine’s a bit harder to access these days.”
With a huff, Ridgedog shrugged. “That’s fine. I always knew you wanted to see the castle anyway.”
So I’ve been working on a fic for about a year. I’ll put the details under the cut.
So, I know Ridgedog isn’t part of the Yogscast anymore, but honestly, this is a Minecraftverse-ish fic so I really don’t care. He’s in this.
So, the jist is this: Ridgedog and Kirindave are Demi-Gods of Minecraftia. They do their own thing most of the time, but when they need to, they work together.
Parvis, Strife, and Rythian are all blood mages. Rythian ‘creates’ Zoeya using blood magic but no spoilers since it’ll ruin the whole story
Lomadia, CC, Minty, and Kaeyi are white mages.
Xephos, Lalna, and Honeydew are normal Minecraftians. Well, Xephos is still an alien, but you get my point. However, they do appear in this, so don’t cry.
Nina-Serena and Littlewood are also important.
I haven’t forgotten about the Hat boys, but I wanna make sure they stay relevant to the story.
There’s some past LomadiaxRythian and some hints at CCxParvis, but I’m not sure about anything else tbh
I don’t wanna give too much away, because I want it to be fun for everyone, but just so you know, I will not tolerate any hate due to Ridgedog being in the fic. Kaeyi isn’t in the Yogscast either, so if that’s your only reason for hating on me, you can look at Kaeyi and fuck right off.
Also CC is Ridgedog’s girlfriend if you didn’t know, and she fit in rather well with the story. Complaints can go to someone who gives a fuck, because I do not.

“Lalna, you home?”
No answer. Not that Xephos had expected one. Closing the front door with his foot, as his arms were currently full, he sauntered into his and Lalna's worn-down home. The blue-eyed male sighed heftily as he set his goods on the table; hopefully, Lalna's absence meant that he had found some work. Because, glancing at his meager pile of groceries, he knew they'd need it. He had managed to pick up a loaf of bread, some cheese, a small bottle of milk, and a newspaper, which wasn't much, but it was better than nothing.
His wallet, however, was beginning to learn the meaning of truly having nothing. After shopping for the week, Xephos had one pound remaining, which wouldn't cover any emergency needs. While Xephos had been chosen for a job today, it hadn't paid him save for some pocket change, and the demanding nature of the labor had been brutal. Still, to him, a job was a job, and he was lucky to have been chosen at all. He was sure that he had just struck a bit of luck, as he knew that there were more able-bodied people in the line he had waited in.
The struggle for money was bothersome, and with the amount of bank notices on the table combined with the TLC that the house truly needed, it was evident. The ceiling in the living area had started caving in due to the Autumn rains, and Lalna had been forced to DIY a plastic tarp over the warped area. The fireplace still worked, but the oil furnace had died, making the winters dreadful as sin. And the water pipes were no longer sufficiently insulated, resulting in frozen pipes nearly all winter, so they'd have to take turns getting the water running again. Looking at a distance at the worn-down structure, no sane person would have continued to bother with such a house, but for Xephos and Lalna, the house was a statement. They were still standing strong. They were still alive. They would make it.
As powerful as their statement was, most of their funds went into the house, leaving Xephos and Lalna with the bare minimum every day. With the meager offerings they could manage to scrape up, Xephos portioned out all of their food, giving the bigger portions to Lalna without his knowledge. Whereas Lalna was more able-bodied, and therefore got chosen for bigger and better jobs, Lalna needed the nutrients more than Xephos did. So silently, Xephos suffered so that he and Lalna could - hopefully soon - start a better life. Lalna was still ignorant to the slight changes in Xephos' health; his face was slowly starting to lose the healthy weight that once made his frame look strong. While his significant other had pointed out that Xephos' “adorable, chubby cheeks” were starting to fade, Lalna knew that they were in a desperate situation, and hadn't called Xephos out on it. And hopefully, Xephos thought, it would stay that way.
Due to Xephos being lost in his thoughts, the eager opening and slamming of the front door nearly scared the brunette out of his skin. “Xeph! I got the best news today!”
Turning around, Xephos chuckled softly. Though his pale face and hands were covered in dirt and grime, Lalna wore the biggest smile. “Oh? And what would that be?”
“The mill owner is considering hiring me on for good!” The enthusiasm that ran through Lalna's entire body was incredible, and Xephos could hardly keep back a squeal of joy. “If that happens, we can finally start to fix this run-down shack!”
“Lalna, that's wonderful!” Xephos ran over to his boyfriend and locked him in a hug, ignoring the grime that was now undoubtedly covering his body. “I'm so happy for you! You deserve this!”
“We deserve this, Xeph. We'll be able to have a real life again!” Lalna lifted Xephos off the floor, and spun him around in a circle. Moments later, Lalna set him back on the floor, a small frown gracing his once-excited features. “You've lost more weight.”
“Everyone's lost weight, Lalna. It's not like we're made out of money.” Xephos waved off the concern, much to Lalna's disdain, and planted a small kiss on Lalna's nose. “I'm fine, and I even managed to get some grocery after work today. We'll be eating like kings tonight.”
Lalna laughed. “Oh yes. Cheese sandwiches and a cuppa. A real feast fit for a king.” Lalna reached over and pinched Xephos' cheek as the taller man gave a small frown in return. 'Oh, come on love, I was just joking. Do you have any money left over?”
“A pound.” He sighed heavily. “What did you get?”
“Not enough to cover our next payment.” The blonde shook his head angrily. “We'll need to give the bank what we've got and hope they don't try and foreclose on us.”
“I'm going out again tomorrow to see if I can find some more work,” Xephos stated. “Though a lot of the laborers don't seem too keen on giving me any. I don't want all of your hard work to end up in vain. I'm sorry I don't bring in a lot.”
Lalna frowned and took a seat on the dirty floor, dragging Xephos into his lap. “Oh, come off it, you're doing all you can. Don't be so hard on yourself.” With a small smile, he added “Besides, I've still got you here, and that's all I need.”
Xephos chuckled, resting his chin on Lalna's filthy blonde hair. “That's sweet. I'm glad to have you and all, but I don't think love is going to pay the bills.”
So, I know I’ve said this before, but I’m actually legitimately back now. I have a job that doesn’t force me to work crazy hours, and a computer that actually works, so I want to get back to writing. “Look at that ugly mug.”
“Who dressed you, your mum?”
“Have you gained weight, Ross?”
As Ross stood in front of the full-length mirror, clad in his boxers, the comments he'd hear on a daily basis swam through his head. And why should the comments matter? These were people that didn't really know him. Most of them were comments from YouTube, for fuck's sake. Why was it bothering him so much? Why did the comments from people he didn't even know cause him problems in his every day life?
“Ross? Are you ready yet?”
Ross was temporarily startled out of his thoughts when he heard Alex's voice. “Not yet! Give me a minute!”
He heard a laugh on the other side of the door. “Did the closet eat your clothes or something?”
“Probably. I can't find a thing to wear!” Ross laughed back, but his face was expressionless. On the floor lay various articles of clothing, all rejected, and seemingly mocking him. He knew, deep down, he wasn't as big as the mirror said when he wore a certain pair of jeans, or that his face really wasn't all that twisted, but... the thoughts couldn't escape. Couldn't snap himself out of the twisted reality he'd thrown himself into.
He finally settled on a pair of nicer-looking jeans and a black polo shirt, but as usual, he couldn't force himself to like what he saw. Ross saw himself with his jeans not fitting quite right, and his stomach basically rounding out his shirt. Is this what I look like? Is this really what I've let myself become? What am I doing? He didn't notice at first, but he soon saw a few stray tears trailing down his face. He clenched his fists. I'm nothing. Absolutely nothing... Worthless...
Alex suddenly threw the door open, as if he was getting impatient. “What is taking you so long, Ross?” He glanced at the clothing scattered on the floor. “Well, the floor seems to have more of your clothes than the closet does. You consider looking there?”
“Oh, I guess you're right.” Ross forced a chuckle, but he knew that Alex would be able to tell it was a load of shit.
“You all right, mate?” Alex frowned when Ross didn't even turn to look at him. “Something bothering you?”
“No, not at all.” Ross quickly wiped at his face, before turning around with a forced smile. “I'll be out in a second. Just-”
“You're not okay, Ross. You look like you've been crying.” Alex walked up to him so they were standing face-to-face. “Come on, love. Tell me what's wrong.”
Ross so badly wanted to think of another lie, just so he wouldn't bother Alex with his problems, but his heart snapped, and he felt the tears start to flow once again. He opened his mouth, just to try and say anything, but he only succeeded in letting out a sob.
“Come here, mate.” The ginger male pulled Ross closer to him, allowing him to sob openly into his chest. “You can tell me when you're ready.”
“I'm absolute shit, Smith,” Ross managed between sobs.
Alex felt his heart shatter. “No you're not. Don't say that. Why do you think that?”
Ross just shook his head. “I'm ugly. I'm fat. I'm disgusting. I'm-”
“Ross, stop.” Alex pulled Ross away from him, staring into his teary-eyed boyfriend. “You're none of those things.”
“I'm all of those things!” Ross blinked, trying to wipe some of the tears away. “I've got a gross-looking nose and my stomach is pudgy and-”
Alex put his finger over Ross' lips, effectively silencing him. “Are you done? Because it's my turn.” He pulled Ross over to the bed, sitting them both down. “You are a beautiful human being, Ross. Your eyes have stunned me many times with their sheer beauty. And your nose isn't too big, not at all. It's an adorable nose.”
Ross covered his face. “Stop. You're just saying that.”
“Your voice soothes me every time I hear it,” he continued, as if Ross hadn't said anything. “Not to mention, it's a great announcer's voice.” Alex smiled. “And that body of yours? It's absolutely perfect.” Alex crept his hand up Ross' shirt, slowly tickling him. “Your belly is absolutely adorable, because you're extremely ticklish. You're not fat, not at all. You're healthy, just the way you should be.”
Ross started giggling madly, trying to swat Alex's hands away. “Smith! Stop! I-I can't breathe!”
The ginger waited for Ross' giggles to sound happier before he stopped, laying down on the bed and pulling Ross down with him. “Please, stop saying you're ugly, or your fat, or you're worthless, because you're not. You're absolutely everything to me.” Alex snuggled up to Ross, resting his chin atop Ross' head and smiling. “I don't know what I'd do without you.”
“I...” Ross was almost speechless. Was he really all these things, or was Alex just trying to make him feel better? Glancing at the foot of the bed, where the mirror sat, he looked at himself again. But for the first time, he didn't see a bulging stomach, or a witches nose. He saw himself with the man who loved him, and for once, he thought he looked perfect.
