The crystalborne were not a threat after a certain distance, since they did not give chase over long distances. But not everyone rode in a carriage, not all carriages were so sturdy, and the monsters were getting more and more numerous in the countryside. King Vitins of Genamore had put out a decree advising citizens to remain in their own villages and not venture out as much as possible. There was fear of contagion and spread, but it seemed to only go where the crystalborne walked. Yet there were also the awful rumors of how more crystalborne were created, that entire villages had been turned into glimmering palaces overnight, and their citizens were made into more monsters to add to their vicious ranks. This was the threat that King Daman was hoping to eradicate with the help of the Allied Kingdoms’ greatest arcane scholars.

And me, Marilyn thought. I’ll be working with some of the greatest minds on the continent to eliminate these monsters and restore the lands. The pressure was enormous. Marilyn could feel her shoulders tightening and her stomach getting lighter with anxiety.

It would be another day of travel until they reached Pralia’s borders, but the sky was already starting to drop scattered snowflakes onto the carriage and the violet crystals that the monsters left behind.

An obvious part of beginning a novel is the where of the story, the place, or setting, but sometimes as writers, we don’t think of it first, preferring to jump to plot or characters. The setting helps the writer and the reader feel grounded in a story. It also helps move the story forward. 

Setting includes landscape, like what a reader sees in a place. Where is this story happening? Other factors that make up the setting include season, weather, time of day, and time in history. Is where the story takes place an urban or rural environment? What’s the main religion? What language is spoken? Under what conditions do people live? You may or may not mention all of this, but as the writer, it’s important to know these things.

This might have been asked before but I’m doing pretty good on coming up with story’s to go with the prompts but I’m at a loss for day 8, I real don’t have a clue what to do for it, any suggestions of “exotic illness “ can totally be made up, im up for any sort of suggestion!! Also great prompsts this year 👍🏻

that's a good question and I can totally understand why you're struggling with it :) if you wanna stay "real" then an exotic illness is something that's not very common in your area/your whumpees area, but might be common elsewhere.

These are my ideas or things I've seen around, but everyone: please, feel free to add your own
