Raph, Don and Mikey looking askance at this rabbit casually mentioning the time he had a grape stuck in his nose for a year. After hearing Leo gush about Don Suave, they’re expecting their brother to be dating someone similar -a bunny don sauve or something.
But then Leo laughs with Usagi’s story and says, “One time, I made burnt toast and served it to a dragon mafia boss.”
No cover-ups. No fibbing, rewording or deleting parts to try to make himself sound cooler. Just the story itself. Just Leo himself.

i sure do! so many in fact it took me some time to gather them together (sorry about the late reply btw! i just kept adding more and more and time flew by fgvsdajf) but without further ado, here are my headcanons!:
raph: so… he's basically the only one to be confirmed to have ptsd after what happened in the movie (though tbh i don't think any of mad dogs would be free of some sort of ptsd after the krang but since raph is the only one confirmed by the writer… well, he deserves some extra ✨attention✨ here :D)
ok so! i've never subscribed to the notion Raph is super gentle with/scared to hurt his brothers in the show, he loves to roughhouse as any of his family (maybe even more!) but after being possessed by the krang and puppeteered to attack his brothers and almost killing one of them on multiple occasions? i can imagine he'd be scared to even touch them once his memories and awareness from possession really kick in.
that's also why i think after the movie raph'd have a deep need for control over his own mind and body, which in my opinion is an easy road to develop some sort of ED, micro-managing his eating habits could give him an illusion of control and i imagine in his state of mind it'd be easy to spiral (personally i like bulimic raph, i even wrote a 20,000 word fic for this headcanon fhsdjfl but other disorders also would fit, especially anorexia)
but speaking of need of control, i imagine Raph would hate to go feral (even more than before) since- well, it'd be too similar to the posession and it'd made him hate himself and add to the trauma so… especially for this reason (among other things!) i think raph'd be even more afraid of being alone and he'd be super clingy to everyone and super insistent about turtle piles and sleeping around others.
regarding his physical damage i (of course) subscribe to the headcanon raph's right eye lost all vision with time as well, there's no way he ripped out the whoooole alien parasite through his eye and didn't lose SOMETHING (i just know if this movie wasn't pg raph'd actually ripped out his whole eye out :'))
also, like, sorry but his whole upper body was brutally transformed into a krang mass and it clearly posessed raph from the inside, i feel like he really should have severe scarring and problems with manual labor, i know in the movie he doesn't have any scars after his transformation but- c'mon, the parasite clearly burst from the inside, it probably had to rip skin because i don't think the krang cares about being gentle :' or if not then it still probably damaged raph's muscles in his upper body and arms! and because of that raph potentially couldn't punch as hard anymore (which he'd hate SO much, because how's he supposed to protect his family when he's "weak"?) and i imagine his muscles just wouldn't feel right under his skin after the krang parasite traveled through his body, probably damaging it from inside too.
(i'm putting the rest under read more because there's a looot of words fgsdjk)
leo: he really got thrown around A LOT in prison dimension (honestly how's he's still alive :'D) and i refuse to believe he got nothing out of it hfsdjl im sure his shell got crushed to hell and back and he hit his head multiple times, i think he suffered a severe head-trauma from which he'd develop a stutter and his shell would never fully heal (i like to think donnie would create a protective shell for leo to help with chronic pain and offer some support for his back)
also- you know how leo tends to self-sacrifice after his fuck ups? well, since i like to think he's full of crippling regret and guilt clinging to him for years after the invasion (that according to leo was his fault) he becomes way too willing to put his own life on the line, especially for raph :') like really, he'd see even a slight potential of injury for raph and in a second he's there, protecting him
(side note: i imagine in general leo would become super protective of raph after what happened. he'd probably see Raph's sacrifice in his nightmares more than anything (yes i believe it was even more traumatizing to him than the time he spend in prison dimension)
(you know it's kinda funny how little active headcanons i have for leo considering he's my favorite but there was just so much fanfics and analysis about him i don't feel like i have anything new to add to the pile fgsdjfkl)
donnie: you know, i've always believed that donnie isn't AS squeamish as a lot of people interpret him in the show but after the movie? oh yeah i can easily believe he'd have A LOT of textures he'd despise and maybe even throw up instantly upon even gazing at them (like, the pizza he got with Leo in Operation Normal? he's never touching that stuff again for sure :'D)
after how donnie's alarm and defense system proved to be basically useless against the krang i think donnie could develop a lot of paranoia (and maybe some sort of ocd?) about his tech not working and he'd spend countless hours just checking and upgrading everything to be absolutely sure it'd work against a new threat.
i think he and raph have potential to get closer since both he and donnie were possessed by the krang (even though it was different possession in details... but still! it gives them similar experiences to talk about and i love their duo, they deserve more love and attention!)
also i headcanon donnie's shell got deeply damaged after being connected to the ship and then being brutally ripped out of it
and! i like to think that while he was connected to the ship he got a glimpse into their data-base and saw some truly awful things the krang did to other planets but also gathered a lot of knowledge about the universe and even though the process of connecting with the ship was disgusting he still wishes sometimes to go back and gather even more information (aaand here it could very easily develop into a fic fhsdfjl)
mikey: okay, so, i know that raph and donnie helped mikey to get leo from prison dimension and they have their own golden scars on their arms too (and btw i do think their arms got damaged to some degree but they healed up way better and quicker) i still believe Mikey was the one that got truly hit by his powers, he was the source after all! and we saw how destructive they can get in the beginning of the movie (im sure the only reason our mikey's still alive is because donnie and raph were there to help out) so it's only natural (to me!) to think Mikey lost some mobility in his hands and arms, particularly i think he's got severe nerve damage, chronic pain and now is unable to grip things with full strength (maybe he'd get some sort of arthritis?)
of course i think it took a long time for his hands to heal (though i don't believe he's hands would ever heal fully :'))
but! even though manual labor could be hell to him sometimes i don't think mikey'd ever give up cooking and drawing, nothing's gonna stifle his creativity!
and i believe getting used to his condition with his family's support and donnie's extensive research about tools that'd help him (like specialized and custom made handles for paint spray cans so it's easier to use them or kitchen utensils with specific handles to help up with Mikey's weak grip and the like) mikey'd be able to continue his passions!
oh, i also like to imagine that at times when Mikey loses patience with his hands he teaches himself how to draw with his feet instead, like artists without hands do! and just in general it seems like a skill Mikey'd likely picked up sooner or later anyway~
regarding his mystic powers i think Mikey would have wanted to start practicing his powers as soon as possible (because 1. they're cool 2. show Mikey is capable and powerful 3. he wants to protect his family after everything) but after his family learns how risky his stunt was (probably thanks to Draxum) they'd be very hesitant to let him touch any magic and it'd take a lot of begging and healing for Mikey to learn any mystic training (openly at least, maybe he'd train in secret anyway!)
also- you know how i said that leo would be super protective of raph after seeing his self-sacrifice? well, i think the same would happen with mikey and donnie, considering how mikey was a witness to donnie's multiple sacrifices as well (yes i love younger siblings being protective of older ones, how could you tell??)
april: maybe it's out of the left field headcanon but i like to imagine that even after all the trouble she went to gather proof to write about this whole "deforestation substance" her university(?) is developing she decided to squash her morals and to keep it for herself for now and not publish her paper so she wouldn't get kicked out of there and to have easier access to the lab! after all she needs to gather more of these vials, so donnie could copy it and make even more of it. you know, just in case the krang comes back, it's completely reasonable, she's not scared of them or anything!
also i can envision her developing a survivor guilt, especially after seeing all the injuries her friends suffered while she came out of the invasion pretty much unscathed… so she'd run herself ragged to help the boys to the point of self-destruction (dw they'd talk some sense into her but it'd take some time for her to stop overworking herself)
splinter: i'm stuck between headcanoning splinter going completely catatonic after the invasion because of guilt (he was the one that made leo the leader and he almost lost him because of it) and depression hitting him with power of thousand suns or stepping up and taking care of his children, i'm so split here fsdhfjl
junior: hmmm i honestly liked the version of scrapped ending where junior would go away to explore the world (i also subscribe to the notion he's in his 20s fhsdfl)
but i also like to think he'd try to spend some time with casey! i'm on the fence when she perished in the bad future but no matter when it happened junior still lost his mom and i just love the idea of him getting to know her as a young adult!
and casey would looooove to hear about her alternate self and what she taught junior (also she'd be so thrilled to hear about what fighting and survival techniques were used in the apocalypse)
hmmm i'm sure there are other headcanons i'm forgetting about but i think these are the main ones i like the most! :D

Damian, deciding to ignore Steph completely: I have no issues understanding the premise of the story, nor the fantastic elements of it. I just think that kid is vastly overreacting.
Stephanie: How the hell is he overreacting?? He just got jumped by a ghost!!
Dick: He's just a little kid, Damian. He's scared.
Stephanie: Yeah. And these are ghosts were talking about. Anyone would be a bit startled if they saw a ghost.
Damian, brows furrowing: I see ghosts all the time and you don't see me make a fuss about it.

*Both whipping around to look at Damian*

Both: YOU SEE FUCKING WHAT??!!
[Narrator voice: For the rest of the movie Damian was too engrossed in pointing out the "inaccuracies" of the ghosts, and totally missed the foreshadowing of Bruce Willis being a ghost too.
The plot twist took him completely by surprise.
Dick and Stephanie were too stunned by earlier events to high–five.

sometimes i wonder how Leo being a very serious medic where he spews all these complicated diagnostic names and remembers all these chemicals in meds and what effects they have on what and all that jazz became such popular headcanon? especially considering how canon Leo gets very easily distracted and botches/doesn't understand "book words" (he overuses The One Smart Sounding Word He Actually Remembered when he tries to convince others of his lies to the point of it being one of his tells) (HONESTLY i think the only complicated words he'd learn would be names of some alien races/planets in Jupiter Jim comics and only because he re-reads the same issue hundreds of times).
like- i get there was this one tweet back in the day where one of the show writers said Leo "probably" has a med kit in his pouch but really, is this one simple answer (that honestly doesn't have much proof in canon and got kinda de-bunked by other writer recently) enough to outweigh all of Leo's characterization in the show? and like- just because he could have a med kit in there doesn't mean he's actually some by the book medic, at most it might mean he's a field medic or that he simply carries the medkit because it's just useful *shrug*
to be clear i think leo's smart in his own way just not very book smart and that's ok!
