Sou uma pessoa autista com afantasia. O que isso significa? Que, além de ser autista, tenho uma condição que me impede de formar imagens mentais, memórias episódicas e factuais. Para mim, a IA de criação de imagens é uma ferramenta revolucionária que me permite materializar cenários e conceitos a partir de textos, substituindo a visualização mental que não consigo realizar.
I am an autistic person with aphantasia. What does that mean? It means that, in addition to being autistic, I have a condition that prevents me from forming mental images, episodic, and factual memories. For me, AI image creation is a revolutionary tool that allows me to materialize scenarios and concepts from texts, replacing the mental visualization I cannot achieve.
A IA vai substituir o artista no mercado de trabalho?

Não, isso não faz sentido. A IA é uma ferramenta que facilita e expande as possibilidades de criação, mas não substitui a visão, habilidade e sensibilidade humana. Artistas que compreendem sombra e luz, profundidade e simbolismo continuarão a ser indispensáveis. A IA serve para potencializar essas habilidades, não para eliminá-las. Profissionais da arte continuarão a utilizar essa tecnologia para enriquecer seu trabalho, assim como médicos usam máquinas avançadas para cirurgias e diagnósticos.
No, that doesn't make sense. AI is a tool that facilitates and expands the possibilities of creation, but it doesn't replace human vision, skill, and sensitivity. Artists who understand shadow and light, depth, and symbolism will continue to be indispensable. AI serves to enhance these abilities, not to eliminate them. Art professionals will continue to use this technology to enrich their work, just as doctors use advanced machines for surgeries and diagnoses.
Trabalho com tecnologia desde os 14 anos, sendo neurodivergente e autista com afantasia. Ao longo da minha carreira, observei que muitas pessoas neurodivergentes ocupam posições de tomada de decisão na tecnologia, apesar do reconhecimento ainda ser limitado. Essas posições proporcionam a essas pessoas uma identidade e independência financeira. A tecnologia pode ser um caminho inclusivo e capacitador para muitos de nós. Discursos negacionistas da tecnologia em entrevistas de emprego são fatores para eliminação de candidato, negar as dinâmicas e mudanças do mercado de trabalho não irão o fazer parar de mudar.
I have been working with technology since I was 14, being neurodivergent and autistic with aphantasia. Throughout my career, I have observed that many neurodivergent people hold decision-making positions in technology, despite recognition still being limited. These positions provide these individuals with identity and financial independence. Technology can be an inclusive and empowering path for many of us. Denial of technology in job interviews is a factor for candidate elimination; denying the dynamics and changes of the job market will not make it stop changing.
Linguagem de Programação:
O futuro da programação está em tornar-se cada vez mais semelhante à linguagem natural que conhecemos. Isso significa que o diferencial de um programador nunca foi apenas conhecer a sintaxe de uma linguagem, mas sim sua capacidade de interpretar o mundo e criar soluções inovadoras. Negar a tecnologia é privar-se das ferramentas que podem amplificar nossas capacidades e abrir novas oportunidades. Familiarizar-se com a IA desde agora é uma forma de compreender a linguagem de programação do futuro.
The future of programming lies in becoming increasingly similar to the natural language we know. This means that the differentiating factor of a programmer has never been just knowing the syntax of a language but rather their ability to interpret the world and create innovative solutions. Denying technology is depriving oneself of tools that can amplify our capabilities and open up new opportunities. Familiarizing oneself with AI from now on is a way to understand the programming language of the future.
Negar a tecnologia é negar a realidade. Como mencionei, sou parte de um grupo marginalizado, e a tecnologia me proporcionou uma profissão desde 2005. A tecnologia acolhe muitos neurodivergentes, oferecendo oportunidades de evolução pessoal e profissional. Negar a IA é perder as oportunidades presentes de crescimento. A negação é um mecanismo de defesa contra mudanças, mas é preciso abraçar o novo para evoluir. Por ser um profissional da tecnologia, poderia ser um negacionista da possibilidade da programação se tornar inclusiva em uma linguagem natural, mas não o faço, pois sei que o verdadeiro programador é o que sabe além do conhecimento da ferramenta de programação. A arte não se resume a conhecer todos os tipos de pincel.
Denying technology is denying reality. As I mentioned, I am part of a marginalized group, and technology has provided me with a profession since 2005. Technology embraces many neurodivergent individuals, offering opportunities for personal and professional growth. Denying AI means missing out on present opportunities for growth. Denial is a defense mechanism against change, but embracing the new is necessary for evolution. As a technology professional, I could be a denier of the possibility of programming becoming inclusive in a natural language, but I don't, because I know that a true programmer is one who knows beyond the knowledge of the programming tool. Art is not just about knowing all types of brushes.
Mas e a Arte Tradicional?
But what about Traditional Art?
A arte tradicional, feita à mão com sentimento e dedicação, nunca perderá seu valor. Ela continuará a ser uma forma de sublimação, um meio de lucro e um presente para a posteridade. A IA, por outro lado, é uma ferramenta para demandas do mercado, permitindo produções mais rápidas e variadas. A visão do artista, sua compreensão de composição, iluminação e simbolismo, é insubstituível. A IA é apenas uma ferramenta que complementa e expande o potencial criativo do artista.
Traditional art, made by hand with feeling and dedication, will never lose its value. It will continue to be a form of sublimation, a means of profit, and a gift to posterity. AI, on the other hand, is a tool for market demands, allowing for faster and more varied productions. The artist's vision, their understanding of composition, lighting, and symbolism, is irreplaceable. AI is just a tool that complements and expands the creative potential of the artist.
Não caia em discursos simplistas e nostálgicos. O mundo está mudando, e a tecnologia, incluindo a IA, pode ser uma aliada poderosa para nós, neurodivergentes, e para muitos, ela é extremamente inclusiva. Use a tecnologia a seu favor, explore suas possibilidades e veja como ela pode enriquecer sua vida e seu trabalho. Julgar e negar a realidade são mecanismos de defesa que podem empobrecer a experiência de vida de quem o faz.
Don't fall for simplistic and nostalgic speeches. The world is changing, and technology, including AI, can be a powerful ally for us, neurodivergent individuals, and for many, it is extremely inclusive. Use technology to your advantage, explore its possibilities, and see how it can enrich your life and work. Judging and denying reality are defense mechanisms that can impoverish the life experience of those who do so.
