croak

caw

whistle

In the trees

Above The wall; ivy drips

Down

as an ashtray

Is filled with no. 27 butts and

Day old rainwater.

 Wooden chimes swear

And swoon in a

Sweet display—5 more

Hours ‘til lightning

Bugs illuminate

And dance in the

Twilight.

Grandpa Was A Lion - Money Tree (Song For Dani)

Always putting out quality material, Justin D'Onofrio, otherwise known as Grandpa Was A Lion, recently released the Two Days In June EP, featuring this track and another titled Texas Forever.

Money Tree (Song For Dani) plays like most of Justin’s earlier material, with these hazy, lofi acoustic guitars and layered, breathy vocals floating right above them. It’s a stripped down sound but it proves to be a perfect medium for Justin to share his emotions and have us focus on his lyrics. The delivery of the entire piece is heartfelt, and that’s what holds it all together.
