Re: Potential Book Contest
I posted about my plight in regards to generating readership a few days ago (I think), and so I thought that today I would give a brief overview of the manuscript I’ve written a sent off to agents (still crossing my fingers on that front). If you’re interested in a contest or the book, like the last post about this, let me know
Alice is a YA reimagining of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.
When Celia burned her new dress, she had no idea it would land her face down in her mother’s antique mirror. It’s bad enough to have burn marks on all of her fingers, now she’ll have scars on her face, too. But when instead, Celia literally stumbles into another world, she finds Zed—a quirky and gorgeous host who ignites a new kind of fire. With no way back home, Celia must discover who she can trust, who’s her enemy or if she even really wants to go home.
It’s not that Zed’s talent for making her blush, rabbits, backwards-speak and red queens aren’t her thing—it’s that something else is going on in Wonderland and inside of her. When weird footprints appear outside of Zed’s house and the once outspoken plants begin whispering, flickers of darker insanity from Wonderland’s already nutsy inhabitants begin to show. Celia soon realizes there’s more to lose in Wonderland than she ever imagined.
Now Celia has to decide whether to fight for this strange land—and become some kind of savior—or if she’s going to fight for something she doesn’t even care about—making it back home. And the hardest part? The more she uncovers Wonderland’s secrets, the more of herself she finds entangled in its very existence.
