Tuesday afternoon, solved. Next stop, Immortal Beloved. Well, as soon as the torrent finishes downloading it anyway. 

God, I miss playing football. I had to keep refusing my alumni team's invites to play seven-aside games. The cost of shelling out for the reg fees and traveling to the different fields for practices and games can drain one's monthly budget [I really need to save as much as I can for the wedding]. Plus, I need to have an even skin tone before the wedding day. My skin seems to be impervious to SPF lotions.

Back to the movie. Laters.

Well, they missed out Craig Thompson's Habibi, and I guess Persepolis is too well-known, but I love the fact that these graphic novels tackle a myriad of issues and topics. Will keep these novels in mind next time I drop by the bookstore. =)

NEW year. reNEWed vigour. NEWfound confidence. NEW career path. NEW laptop. NEW me.

...and the reason why I haven't posted anything on tumblr for weeks. 

I've decided to accept a job offer as a writer and researcher for a well-known  architectural firm early this year, and after much consideration [and reconsideration], I tendered my resignation as an ESL Supervisor to my immediate bosses last week.

It wasn't an easy decision, to be honest. I had to seriously weigh my reasons of leaving the company when my current pay is way higher than what I'll be getting as a writer/researcher and the change is position as well. I know I need that extra money for our wedding money and for the ongoing treatment of my endometriosis, but I just couldn't ignore the nagging "What if" voice in my head. I can live with the consequences of this career risk, but I'll be damned if I don't grab this career opportunity from Palafox Associates. As for the money issues, I'll get by. Hullo, freelance writing gigs. Hullo, deadlines. We meet again.

I look forward to a good year ahead. Ajah! =)

Japanese artist Riusuke Fukahori paints three-dimensional goldfish using a complex process of poured resin. The fish are painted meticulously, layer by layer, the sandwiched slices revealing slightly more about each creature, similar to the function of a 3D printer.

This artist takes 3-D to a whole new level. Epic.Watch the video on how he does it.

Man Ray: A man in love with a woman from a different era. I see a photograph!  Luis Buñuel: I see a film!  Gil: I see insurmountable problem!  Salvador Dalí: I see (a) rhinoceros! 

My fave part of Midnight in Paris, Adrian Brody's 1920 version of Salvador Dali, although Corey Stoll's portrayal of the emo/passionate Ernest Hemingway was quite memorable as well.
