"Dear diary, she slayed"
Finally, it's done. The head turn didn’t survive the process, but the final version works better this way.
Sometimes cutting one idea saves the whole piece.

All frames have lineart and basic colors, and a few of them even have shading!

Alright, she's blinking. Now only other frames, shading, background and maybe in next 1000 years it will be done 😅
work in progress
I drew the first frame lineart four times so the animation gets a line boil. It’s a tiny detail, but it feel much more alive now.

Alright, I should finally finish the lineart this weekend. I’ve been working on this animation for about two weeks. The head turn is only five frames, but it took way more effort than I expected. I had already drawn and animated the hair once, but then I ended up redesigning it and animating it all over again. I have no idea how people make long, smooth animations. This is hard.

Lineart and basic colors for the first frame are done. She’s giving me strong 2014–2020 Moschino vibes.

drawing that animation is way harder than I thought

"Irdorath"
Drawn in Krita
My first Gothic fanart. It's an iconic game series in Poland and other countries of Central and Eastern Europe.
work in progress
I redrew the lineart from scratch, reworking key elements like the faces along the way.
I also rebuilt the entire coloring and shading process. It’s based on grayscale values combined with base colors and gradient maps.
The final look is meant to feel like it was drawn with colored pencils.

should be done tomorrow, I hope so

I didn’t manage to finish it this month. It’ll probably take all of March, but I want to do it properly!

I've decided not to finish it this month. Instead of thinking, "I need to use the free Tumblr boost," I should focus on drawing it as well as I can.
