And who started it? Why did women start the feminist movement? It was because women couldn't vote, own property, open a bank account, access credit, attend higher education, or were even considered full fledged human beings. Feminism isn't for "humanity" it's for women by women. Feminism got women the right to vote, pursue education, divorce, access birth control, own property, and hold office. There are still parts of the world where the female illiteracy rate is almost double the male illiteracy rate because men don't believe in sending their daughters to school. There are parts of the world when infant girls are being killed because their fathers don't want daughters. The BBC just ran an article within the last month about Afghan father's selling their daughters as brides. Feminism is for women and girls.

What do you mean "what's my definition of female"? You know it. Everybody knows it. The sex that produces ova. Nobody who isn't female is experiencing female specific oppression. There may be some overlap, or some similarities, but it's never truly the same thing. That's why intersectional feminism exists, because different women will experience different types of oppression. A black woman is going to experience racism and misogyny, making her a victim of both. A black man will experience racism but never misogyny. A white woman will experience misogyny but not racism.

Misogynists know who the women are. Men in Afghanistan aren't humming and hawwing over which child to sell, they sell the girls. Indian and Chinese men aren't looking at their infant daughters going "is this a female? How can I be sure?" Before they kill them. The Taliban isn't chromosome testing to determine which half of the population can't be heard or unaccompanied in public.

This "how do you define female" bullshit is just wasting time. We all know! Millions of years of evolution means we recognize the difference between male and female on instinct. And women have been oppressed based on that noticable distinction for just as long.

Noooo, because a trans identified male is still a male, no matter how hard he tries to appear as a female, and vice versa. You can still recognize sex on instinct, even when people start using modern technology to change their appearance. The amount of trans identified people who can trick others regarding their sex is very very small, most of them are noticably male or female. A male who has used surgery, cross sex hormones, and make up to make himself look female is still male.

It's called an Innate Perceptional System and it works on pattern recognition. Infants as young as 3 months are able to recognize the differences in sex.

A critique of Anne Fausto Sterling who is famous for popularizing "there are five or six sexes," a statement I saw critiqued for the first time by @not-your-intersex-pawn, who always insisted that considering intersex people abnormal variations of the binary is not offensive and is in fact medically necessary to assert for their treatment. I'm not intersex so I don't think my opinion on which conditions are "true intersex" matters but because an intersex woman I really respected the writing of agreed with this critique (as well as the Intersex Society of North America who has this argument summarized on their website), I've chosen to support her and them.

Nosology is the science of the classification of diseases. The first principle of nosology is the distinction between the normal and the pathological. This principle poses real difficulties for Fausto-Sterling. She often uses the word natural synonymously with normal (for an example, see the previous paragraph). However, natural and normal are not synonyms. A cow may give birth to a two-headed or Siamese calf by natural processes, natural being understood as per Fausto-Sterling’s definition as “produced by nature.” Nevertheless, that two-headed calf unarguably manifests an abnormal condition. Fausto-Sterling’s insistence that all combinations of sexual anatomy be regarded as normal is reminiscent of Szasz’s view of mental illness (Szasz, 1974). Szasz insisted that mental illness is not a real biological phenomenon but merely an invention of society. Like Fausto-Sterling, Szasz was suspicious of the distinction between normal and pathological. Fausto-Sterling follows the example set by Szasz in her belief that classifications of normal and abnormal sexual anatomy are mere social conventions, prejudices which can and should be set aside by an enlightened intelligentsia. This type of extreme social constructionism is confusing and is not helpful to clinicians, to their patients, or to their patients’ families. Diluting the term intersex to include “any deviation from the Platonic ideal of sexual dimorphism” (Blackless et al., 2000, p. 152), as Fausto-Sterling suggests, deprives the term of any clinically useful meaning."

Book critically analyzing dozens of pro genderist studies in order to prove that there in fact two sexes with abnormalities that are either male or female, but being male or female does not dictate brain structure or behavior. That last link in the first post didn't show what it is but that's Dr. Fine's "Delusions of Gender" for more examples of this
