it has become obvious that 99% of trans activism is actually just about protecting trans people from becoming upset. it's all about not making them feel bad, like that's all there really is to it.

don't remind them of their sex it makes them feel bad. don't use the disliked pronoun it makes them feel bad. don't establish any boundaries it makes them feel bad. don't have preferences that exclude them it makes them feel bad. don't forget to mention them in every activist space in every conversation in every context or they will feel bad about not being centered.

nobody wants to be made aware that something about their body is unattractive to someone they have a crush on, that's not a trans specific experience. but it's also true that whenever someone turns you down, there's always something about you that the other person doesn't much care about, and that this is a 100% normal, neutral and universal feeling. you have also turned down other people (if not explicitly, at least in your own mind) for millions of reasons, many of which were based on things those other people did not have any control over. that is perfectly okay. that doesn't mean you hate them and that doesn't mean their feelings become your responsibility.

but if you don't want to be reminded that your penis is the very issue? well then just take the first "no" as a complete sentence. accept it when they just plainly tell you they're not interested in you, and don't demand for more details.
