Alright we're sewing again and I forgot that I didn't actually get very good at it but whatever!
I'm making a buckwheat hull pillow which involves a zipper so the hulls can't escape. My research has led me to believe I should be scared of zippers but I don't know enough about the process to be afraid so I will charge ahead. Here is the progress I made tonight:
1) Cut my fabric, but I couldn't just follow a tutorial and use their measurements because I'm just Like That so hopefully I did the seam allowances right ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (I wouldn't bet on it).
2) Zigzagged the edges to prevent fraying because obviously I don't own a serger. That step reminded me that I am unable to sew a straight line (see above)!
3) Hand-basted the zipper in place. I am learning a lot, like it's way easier to baste with a contrasting thread color! You're just going to take it out anyway!
BUT LOOK LOOK I SET THE ZIPPER UP RIGHT
