"you cannot change the structure of capitalism by voting" Okay, I'll accept that as reality for a moment. Riddle me this, however; why do you, and every other person like you, get your gastrointestinal system in a twist whenever election year comes around about telling people to not vote? Why fight tooth and nail via keyboard over something you are now claiming doesn't matter on a societal or even individual level? It feels like something's not lining up, but by all means, feel free to make it make sense!
I don't care who you vote for and I've never once told people to "not vote". I have only ever harshly criticized the politicians who are in power for the many terrible things they have used that power to do, and when election season comes around the people who would typically ignore my criticisms all come out of the woodwork to get absolutely offended that I would dare risk the chances of the Democrats winning another election by pointing out their flaws.
I've already put my ballot in. I've filled out everything they wanted me to fill out. Why would I do that if I wanted people to "not vote"? This has never been about voting. This has been about asserting the uselessness of liberalism, of reformism, of working within the Democratic Party or any other bourgeois party to achieve real structural change.
Go ahead and vote. Just don't expect socialism to come from it, that's all. And stop acting like criticizing the Dems is some evil foreign plot to sabotage their election chances.
cnn talking heads: trump is going to destroy our democracy and normalize xenophobia!!!!
shark tank guy: what exactly was democratic about the DNC kneecapping bernie in 2016 and handpicking kamala with no primary process in 2024
cnn talking heads: nothing the DNC does has to be democratic you neanderthal canadian immigrant

My artistic rendition:
i think a lot of liberals need to confront the fact that they don’t actually believe everyone should have basic human rights. a homeless person could call me every slur under the sun and i would still want them to have housing, food, etc. the belief that everyone is entitled to basic human rights should not hinge on whether you “like” someone or not. at that point the entire ideology crumbles.
Liberals will be like ”your plan for revolution is childish and unrealistic, unlike my plan of electing a right wing democrat and bullying them to the left after the election” and then not bully the democratic president not even a little bit, and in fact acting like Joseph McCarthy against anyone who does.
@read-marx-and-lenin tumblr knew exactly who I wanted to ping for this lmao

The other thing with the lesser evil shit is it makes people completely incapable of seeing the continuity across party administrations. Obama heavily expanded the ICE system established under Bush and created the concentration camps at the border, Trump continued and extended Obama’s policy to even broader demographics of migrants, and Biden and Harris have just continued Trump’s policies but focused on the borderlands themselves instead of challenging inland sanctuary cities and whatnot. This happens regardless of which party is in leadership, because the point with this way of thinking is the state itself. And communists should be focused on opposing this imperial capitalist state. We should be seeing the administrations as relevant primarily to the strategy we take against the state, since they are simply ways to arrange that state’s own strategy. If you look at a faction of the bureaucracy as your allies, or even your leaders, you’ve already lost at doing anything but rubber stamping decisions emanating from the state itself
"luddite" is as useful as term as "tankie" in that its mostly just a smear word for anyone who says anything that goes against bourgeoisie interests. There's better ways to critique the flaws of anti-tech sentiment than falling back on that type of bourgeois terminology
luddite is a synonym for anti-tech sentiment, it's a very specific word for a very specific ideology. I won't cede to the notion that opposing technologies that increase efficiency is a useful, materialist goal for opposing the bourgeoisie; and even if it was, even if addressing the symptom could help alleviate the disease, strengthening the proletariat via organization and action is simply far more feasible than lobbying the DOTB to abandon new technologies that serve bourgeoisie interests (the accumulation of capital). The only active movements against generative AI are based in expanding copyright law, which would be a fucking nightmare for working artists and do nothing to alleviate the concerns of those workers; the corporations that are using this technology to exploit workers will have access to this technology either way.
the pain of perpetually viewing myself as creepy because I've always been called weird, and weird has always been equated with creepy.
if your vision of communist society is one in which the disabled have to rely on the goodwill of others to live that vision sucks
A communist society is premised on everyone relying on their community????
It is not.
A communist society, like all societies, would be predicated on the material reality that every individual member of the society is dependent on the collective labor of all members of society in order to achieve a certain standard of living that would be impossible for that individual to achieve on their own. If you want to call that "relying on community", then there are worse ways to phrase it. But under no circumstance should that be interpreted to mean that distribution of goods and services should be predicated on the whims of individuals. Without collective and disciplined organization of production and distribution of goods and services in order to achieve the principle "to each according to their need", there can be no communist society.
How do we get there?
Through socialism. Through revolutions that dismantle one by one every bourgeois capitalist and imperialist state, through the construction of proletarian states to replace them, and through the gradual improvement and refinement of socialism over time until we reach communism.
would like to note: lack of disability inclusion within social production is not the fault of disabled people- instead, we have virtually all of our places of social production run by people who wish to pay the absolute bare minimum for the investment into goods and the organization and operation of the work (such that it becomes specialized for only people who can fit within it), and implement policies of implementing strict competition between laborers, turning what would otherwise be a variety of human characteristics which reflect how they engage with labor into issues of people being able to fit into the existing mold. thus, those who fit are deemed "normal" and those who don't are deemed "unable/disabled" and this is "nature." how to resolve this? have the laborers decide how the work is done. people want comfortable places to be wherever they are, and will trend towards that. disability inclusion is many times in full overlap with making places more comfortable and safer for everyone, with minor exceptions that honestly we could figure out.
i know Hindenburg appointed Hitler, a FASCIST, and I know they just took a picture showing they support each other but PLEASE UNDERSTAND that was just for UNITY. We need to KEEP VOTING HINDENBURG to keep the fascists out of TOTAL POWER
ANYONE claiming that Hitler and Hindenburg's interests align are most likely SOVIET agents who support the RED FRONT (Violent)
Vote HINDENBURG to ensure democracy WINDENBURGS
I took a five minute break to watch a small beetle and an ant fighting at work. didn't really know who started it or who was winning so I let them be. came back and I think they both lost. crazy.
