So I’ve never actually done this before, and I never thought I’d have to but today has been one of the hardest days.

My 7yr old emotional support animal, a chihuahua named Meeka, has fallen super ill. I rushed her into emerg today, paid the last $500 I had to my name to last me these next two weeks, and now she is back home as I had to decline hospitalization due to not having the funds. Tomorrow they want to schedule her for an ultrasound to see whats going on and that’s where I need help. The total quoted cost of the ultrasound is $800.00 CAD. A friend of mine is giving me $150.00 to help but I am still short $650.00. I would rather be able to pay for her ultrasound than buy myself food or groceries, because she means more to me and I can ration the food I have to last me a week. if you receive this kind of text, block the number immediately and do NOT click on the link. it leads to websites that give you the ability to “track your package,” when in reality, it is YOUR location being tracked.

i myself almost fell for this and i luckily called my apartment’s leasing office to check if i had any packages i never picked up and they said no.

spread this please because i’ve seen a LOT of others say they’ve received these kinds of texts, so there’s likely to be more who are unaware it’s a scam.
