The Husky and his White Cat Shizun Volume 10
Chu wanning is THE character ever. He's powerful, talented, and righteous. He seems perfect and put together. He's a hot mess. An absolute wreck. His room looks like a hurricane touched down in it. He regularly falls off his bed. He makes robots. He's a hazard in the kitchen aside from exactly one (1) dish. He has a resting bitch face but honestly is just socially anxious. His only friends are his students, his boss, and a little gremlin dragon he made (which can grow in size. And he can ride it. He rides a fucking dragon). He's gay. His taste in women is "female. alive." He has a terrible sugar addiction. He can drink you under the table several times over. He has sexy dreams about getting absolutely railed into next week by his beloved. He wants to be held gently and be called beautiful. He knows next to nothing abt sex. He stuck a candlestick up his ass. He once tried to remove his spiritual core by carving it out of his chest with a sword. He dragged his beloved up 3799 stairs while on the verge of death. He was carved from a block of magic wood. He traveled through time and space, creating an entirely new timeline to change both his own and his beloved's fates. He split apart his soul and shoved half of it into his beloved. He ran away when his beloved confessed to him. He's afraid of heights. He cannot handle anything even remotely spicy. He dies. He comes back to life after 5 years. He gambles. He's a man of the people. He won't hesitate to cut a bitch. Children are terrified of him. What else.
I personally think Cathy Dollanganger and Orel Puppington have a lot to bond over.
Orel could heal her tbh
The biggest misconception in public schools is that literary analysis is about proving you can be right or wrong about a book you read
Literary analysis isn’t about the book
It’s not even about being right
It’s about performing an investigation and presenting your case to the jury
It doesn’t matter if your defendant killed that guy or not. If you can convince the jury he didn’t, you’ve won
And the incredible life skill of spinning bulletproof bullshit out your ass with a handful of facts and a prayer is soooooooo much more valuable than anyone’s ever gonna tell you
If the average tweenager knew that good media analysis meant you could force your English teacher to admit that fuckin- (rolls dice) What’s Eating Gilber Grape is a metaphor for (rolls dice again) Why the crack cocaine epidemic is good actually- we would have far better literacy and critical thinking skills as a nation. And I stand by that
You could develop the magical psychic and illusory power to force the middle aged bitchfuck who makes you raise your hand and beg for permission to take a shit accept the premise that Cocomelon is a subversive and scathing artistic commentary on the pitfalls of modern democracy. Chat GPT essay engines are stealing this from you
Forced to say ‘Media is subjective and all interpretations are valid. Creative license is cool :)’ Born to say ‘Anyone who makes adaptations where Jonathan is a bad person so that Mina can fall in love with Dracula should be shot point blank’
the iliad it boy and tamer of horses
Redraw of the last sketch lmao
not a damn braincell in sight
See I think Odysseus is a terrible person. But when other people say he's a terrible person, I squint and go hmmmmmm
A bit of a micro trend I’ve noticed in retellings (wether it be on Greek mythology or other historical literature) is making a male character significantly older than his wife/lover as a shorthand to tell us he’s the bad guy, I’ve seen it with Macbeth and Lady Macbeth as well as Phaedra/Theseus and Romeo/Juliet. Were massive age gaps and child marriages common back then? Yes but that doesn’t mean couples in the same age range didn’t exist at all.
Not to mention that a lot of these couples are sometimes implied or straight up stated to be the same age, so adding pedophilia and grooming to make the female characters suffer more just to get your feminism browny points is weird.
This is why no matter what, Francis Ford Coppola's Dracula and every tv show and musical out there will never be hated close to enough actually
My favorite scenes from The Odyssey (books 18 to 21)
Odysseus fighting a random beggar being its own book was not something I expected to enjoy this much when reading The Odyssey, but here we are.
Here’s a fun riddle what do they both have in common
(Clue:left behind their 10 year old daughter’s)
i love the tragedy and the angst of the house of atreus as much as the next person. but i also love to imagine agamemnon and menelaus being ........ kids. stupid kids. like. can you imagine them as teenagers and they see a fresco or some shit of the minotaur and menelaus just goes 'omg agamemnon you have our great-uncle's nose' and agamemnon just fucking bodies him.
Unpopular opinion but
I don't think any of the wives of the crewmates in Epic waited for them. Yes, this includes Ctimene
The whole point of the Odyssey (and Epic along), is to show that both Odysseus and Penelope would go to lenghts to go back to each other. Penelope is literally the example of a "faithful and patient wife". And considering the time they were in, 20 YEARS for them to not remarried would have been seen as wrong (literally why the suitors insulted Penelope with no care even if she was Queen)
Do i think they waited until the Troyan war was over? Yes. After that? Only Penelope.
I don't think Odysseus' sister waited for Eurylochus (she wasn't even on Ithaca to have Penelope's influence) and i think Eury was well aware of that fact and why he was also willing to die in Helios' island (and all the crew who was left at that point).
It's genuinely frustrating when you enjoy the Odyssey and Epic, as while they DO share a lot of similarities, they ARE very different :/ And it's super duper frustrating that people somehow think that Epic Odysseus loves Penelope more than Odyssey Odysseus, like, y'all, where do you think Jay got the inspiration from?
odysseus is a beautiful brown man in my heart
