To clarify, I enjoy both of their characters and storylines, I find both of them very interesting and am not saying that one is better than the other. In fact, I think they should not be compared given the vast amount of differences between them.

they SHOULD be compared.

Not least if a person so deeply mistreated acts like this, you MIGHT be dealing with a Jax and its hard to figure what to do with that person but if you are being LIKE Jax? This could be where it ends up. and you will NOT like it.

But it doesn't HAVE to be that way. Out of the YEARS of life Leroy lived only a fraction unhoused and was able to find his tribe, a job, and gather himself up to act and explore (until word of author, I assumed ANY queer aspect was Jax suppressing, and Leroy seems not to have changed pronouns but is coming to a queer friendly space and such people)

Apples CAN be compared to oranges. They are produce, fruit, breakfast foods with different nutritional and flavor and culinary benefits and outcomes.

Please don't confuse worth of self, even inspite of hated queer or alt aspects, with a fictional character. Ditto mental health or social consideration.

Jax and Caine are different on purpose. If we take their writting and characters into consideration, one should not be treated superior to the other. Both of them have issues, and honestly I find it better to view them as parallels who drift apart at their very ends. Both of them have issues, both of them had their own dark spaces and eras.

Except Caine is made to learn. His coding as an AI is literally to absorb information and utilize that. The void scene with him ascending higher and higher, showing he can't fight the walls with aggression, taught him how to handle humans and how what he did limited them.

Considering that the brain scans keep them in the state they first arrived, I have the assumption that it's much harder (as a human) to develop in the circus. Therefore, Jax was still in the state he was not short after the incident with his mother for years. He was still that kid who experienced emotional unavailability and impossible standards by his parents.

Leroy had thr opportunity to grow. His mind isn't stuck in that same state. He was able to briefly secure himself while not being stuck in a nightmare for years, rather finding people who he can count on. The second Leroy's brain got scanned they became separate people, no longer experiencing the same things, which is by far one of the most important things that affect development.

Do I adore how Will's and Hannibal's relationship exceed what would be comprehensible and take it to a much deeper level? Yes. Will I forgive Hannibal for how he used Will's own mind to break him just to go "hi honeyyyy pls talk to me" later? No. Bitch.

It's interesting to me that Pomni's greatest fear is having to face an angry and violent Gummigoo. Someone she has liked and let down. The others seem a bit deeper, something that is either directly or indirectly connected to their oife outside of the circus. So I wonder, how good did she have it? How did she manage so well that there was NOTHING Caine could have pinned against her, except the failure that HE created? And even in the circus (after a while) she manages so well. She was the one whose yell made Caine realise he needs to assert his dominance, she was the one started baiting Caine when he was close to checking on Kinger. She is the one who pulled people back together after the failed attempt to leave. To Caine, she is the most dangerous cause she is rational, she is not afraid of him and she even figured out how to conjure right after Kinger mentioning it. Kinger has been there for decades. Pomni figured conjuring out in minutes.
