It’s 2026 and I have now been playing Baldur’s Gate 3 for over 3 years, 3000 hours and Im still obsessed with Astarion’s skin texture. I love that they made him old. I love that he has pores and sun damage and freckles and laugh lines. Somewhere in the world, I hope that Stephanie Chafe is having a lovely day! <3

This is one of my favorite things about the game. In an age that equates artificial youth to beauty we have romance options with skin texture, grey hairs, wrinkles. Astarion, who is by all accounts supposed to be an exceptionally beautiful vampire, could've been made to be eternally 20. Instead he's a visibly aged man, crow's feet and dark circles and all. He's a character who subverts expectations in many ways including this one and I think that's beautiful.

Failed attempts at painting Astarion in the style of a Van Gogh portrait. I think they came out kinda cool even if I didn't succeed with my goal. Reference included for the giggles. Will attempt again one day.

Eshra was not surprised about Astarion trying to bite her, nor was she mad at him for drinking her dry. She did not try to stop him to begin with

Eshra has quite... Peculiar definitions of intimacy. Being nigh indestructible (plus the screwed upbringing), her affections are very intence. The fact that Astarion chose her for this was perceived as an act of trust. As in "he was desperate and believed I would not harm him for it". And it spiked her curiosity and attraction towards him.
