I think some of the loneliness of autism is that you feel like you hurt people just by Interacting Wrong, but you donāt know how to Interact Right, and the more effort you put into it, the more exhausted you are and the more artificial it comes across (with the end result of people still being upset with you). and itās not anyoneās fault for not liking Being Interacted With Wrong, and itās not your fault for doing it so wrong, but it is very, very lonely.
anyway, every single book I write ever is going to secretly be about autism
āRaw milk is better for you as long as you boil itā so true bestie now imagine if we could like. Super boil it. To really get all the bacteria out. And if we could do that quickly and efficiently. Imagine that.
do you want to play tomodachi life but don't have a switch, $60, or just don't want to pay nintendo $60?
here's an all-in-one site where you can download everything you need to emulate it!
Floralith beta ā downloads and setup.
also, with an emulator, you can directly screenshot and record your game, and even mod it! add custom hair parts! import photos directly! remove region locks! emulate it!!
everything?
everything! this site will walk you through downloading the ryujinx switch emulator, the firmware and keys needed, and the nsp game file for tomodachi life ltd.
is this safe?
the files are all directly downloaded from this site, so there's no third party to worry about. i didn't make this site - it was created by PotentialAd943 on reddit, who claims they scanned their files clean before hosting. just to be sure, i scanned my pc after downloading too. it all came up clean! but it's good to be aware of pc safety, especially when pirating. it can't hurt to do a scan of your own to be sure!
how much pc knowledge do i need for this?
you should know how to download files, how to make and manage folders in file explorer, and how to navigate a program's settings menu.
any settings i should change in ryujinx?
here's some i recommend checking before starting the game:
iām sure you guys have heard about kansas invalidating trans ids- just so you know itās not all hopeless
hi did you know that trans christians spend their entire lives in faiths that try and convince them that on a cosmical level they should hate themselves and for them this would be emotionally fufilling? hi did you know that kansas is over 70% christian? hi did you know that just because you think atheism is the correct and the only thing that deserves respect that doesnāt mean that this isnāt incredibly impactful and meaningful for many people?
reblogging this again to bring up that when my grandma said she didnāt understand trans people, and why would they betray the body God gave them, it would have been 0 help to explain to her all the biological and cultural and societal components to the existence of the concept of gender and trans people. You know what did make her pause and reconsider her stance? āDid you ever think that maybe God made trans people on purpose?ā And we got to have a conversation about all the interesting things God has made so why wouldnāt God make trans people? And she came out of the conversation with more grace and understanding.
āGod blessed me by making me transsexual for the same reason he made wheat but not bread and fruit but not wine: so that humanity might share in the act of creation.ā āĀ Julian K. Jarboe
I am not Christian. I was not raised Christian. I was raised pagan, and I am a pagan priestess.
Unlike anti-theists (not the same thing as atheists), I still understand the importance of meeting people where they are and engaging them based on their world view. If I need to explain a social concept to an atheist, I can use biology and psychology and neuroscience. If I need to explain the same social concept to a Southern Baptist, I'm going to use the Bible to do it. Because you cannot convince anyone of anything using arguments that are not a part of their existing paradigm, and it's foolish to try.
There's nothing wrong with being an atheist. In fact some of my favorite people are atheists. I've had amazing conversations about faith and community and psychological needs with some atheists who attend my (pagan) church because we emphasize community and welcoming everyone. You can be an atheist without denigrating other people's beliefs. Respecting other people is important.
Christianity as an institution has done untold harm to countless humans across history. But that's because it was co-opted into a means of coercion by an imperialist regime. As is often the case with the dominant religion in any given time and place. But that does not reflect on the concept of religion itself. If imperialists didn't use religion as that instrument, they'd find something else. The problem isn't religion, it's authoritarianism. Religions that aren't co-opted by the state are a means of building community and compassion and understanding. It's a tool like anything else. A wrench isn't evil or wrong because you can choose to hit someone in the head with it.
But insulting an aspect of culture that isn't hurting anyone, is wrong. Attacking religion is just the same as attacking gender non-conformity. You're still insulting something just because you don't understand it. The fact that some people use it as an excuse to cause harm is not relevant. Target your criticism correctly. You don't have a problem with religion, you have a problem with bigotry.

Not to sound like a decrepit, rambling corpse about it, but back in my day Word used to be a pre installed program that came with your computer, if you were running Windows.
No subscription. Just program.
On your computer. You got to use it forever and ever and never had to worry about it going away.
Because it was physically on your computer. As a program. That you actually owned. Not because you got it separately, but because it was a standard inclusion with your computer.
I'm sorry but I'll just never get over it. I remember when companies cared about their products being usable out of the box. I remember when our things belonged to us.

In the Year of the Horse, let us all truly appreciate what this mythical creature has done for surrealist memes. I donāt think there is another animal that has inspired such unhinged internet images. We should all be both eternally grateful and forever afraid.
"are you gonna take those pills the rest of your life?" you mean my molecules? why surely you wouldn't deprive me of my molecules. they are shaped exactly just so, you see. my molecules
do you know how hard someone had to work to make my molecules into their molecule shapes??
they invented a new shape of molecule just for me and you want me to what, not absorb it???
reblog to remind somebody about their molecules
people who shape molecules at their jobs found this post and they're in the notes being happy to be appreciated. go take your fucking molecules

A lot of people on twitter wanted me to explain how I draw expressions, so here you go
Unless you're drawing explicit realism, in my opinion, expressions should be exaggerated to some degree. If you aren't doing a 1:1 recreation, the point is to get the FEELING across. Try making the expression you want to draw and feeling how your face pinches and stretches.
Skin doesn't just "disappear" when your face moves it around --- that's where wrinkles come from! Pay attention to where your skin creases when you emote, and use it to your benefit. It's a fine line between overdoing it and underdoing it -- find your own balance.
Ultimately, every expression has a little bit of push and pull, unless your face is completely neutral (and even then, there are still some wrinkles...). Learning to think of expressions as actions and reactions is VERY helpful in learning to draw them without needing a reference, and in learning how to stylize and push expressions based on references as well!
I think a lot of people end up with stiff or unexpressive emotions in their art because they're just trying to recreate a picture instead of understanding WHY and HOW the face is moving --- and it's a tough thing that takes a while to really pick up and learn. Hopefully is helpful in showing a way of thinking about it that can influence your process and approach to emotions!!!
Also, bonus: even without the lines, the planes alone still show a LOT of emotion.
