Today I converted some of the77sims’ walls. I did not convert the whole set, though. Ten sets of different walls, including brick, cement and wood, where most of them contain seperate parts of the same wall. Swatch and individual images of the walls are included, and everything is categorized and tested. I hope you’ll find them useful!

So, historical and medieval TS2 gameplay is some of my favorite gameplay to look at. But, historical recolors for Maxis meshes can be hard to come by. Not unheard of, but not as common.

That means I had to try making some myself!

I'd used this Family Fun wall hanging for the first time in my Fairy build and noted that the shape was very good! But for standard gameplay, would I do with all those pastel recolors, you know?

Anyway - this is 14 recolors of Fancy Fairy aka paintingfantasytapestry!

Textures sources are definitely the Witcher games (Witcher 3?), some rug and fabric stuff I had already, and the purple one is from some Harry Potter game I've never heard of or played.

PSD included - I waited on sharing this because I kept thinking I'd make more, but 14 is plenty!

Maxis Match Recolors of FreshPrince’s Entertainment Center

Basically Amused Sims shared these recolors of a very nice entertainment center for your sims’ living rooms. The mesh is included with the download since FreshPrince’s original mesh isn’t available anymore.

Everything you need to know under the cut :

The shelves are priced from 40$ to 240$ and categorized as Surface>Shelves. The plain doors are priced from 15$ to 90$, the glass doors from 20$ to 120$ and both are categorized as Deco>Misc.

The shelves have 5 slots for each box. You will only use 3 of them at the same time because the ones on the sides are really close to each other because depending on the size of the deco clutter you want to place on it, you will sometimes need one or the other. For exemple, the deco books and the small easels are using different slots on the edges otherwise they'd clip with the sides or with each other (you can tell with the candles that show you the 5 slots) :

I also edited the door meshes a bit : some had offset handles (they are now centered). I also raised them up a little to prevent them from touching the floor : they are now properly aligned with the shelves.

I also repo'd the glass of the glass doors to the Banquet of Six dining table from the Glamour kit, because I already have a few recolors for it (and the game has two different colors anyway so it's still nice even without recolors). Everything else is repo'd to the Dahlen bookcase from the Basegame.

Please note that I might have edited the filenames as I have them in my game for YEARS so you should take care to remove them from your Downloads folder before adding my edits as they might not overwrite the old files. Catalog description in ENG and FR. Press M to switch between slots. If the doors go on the shelves slots, turn moveobjects off. If you place the doors before you place the shelves, the shelves will magnet to the doors (that's not my feature, the doors were acting like this from the beginning... I suppose they just have a slot ?). And I think that's it ?

If you follow me on Twitter, you'd know how much I love these albums IRL! So, I wanted to make simlish versions of them. This CD Display features The Sweet Escape by Gwen Simfani & Blackout by Simney Spears.

The object acts as any other shelf decor in the game and can be quarter-tile placed.

No mesh/additional CC required.

Found in Deco > Misc. Costs §50.

I believe Decat was the one who originally converted this CD Display mesh from The Sims 4. If I'm wrong, let me know and I will fix it ASAP!

Uploading Old/Unavailable TS2 Exchange Items, Part IV

Disclaimer: These lots were originally uploaded to the now-defunct Exchange back in 2004 or 2005 by inactive creators. I do not claim them as my own, rather I am uploading them in their original state to preserve them.

211 Meadowlark Lane by lrussim2 (4x4 lot, $205,594)

I usually like to upload some lots as part of my followers gifts, so here are the last two lots that I have by former TS2 Exchange builder lrussim2. The other houses (Green Gables, my favorite, and Sunny Glen) can be found here, and Southern Comfort can be found here.

I played a version of this lot many years ago, and loved how it was set up on a shallow hill and surrounded by lrussim2's trademark beautiful landscaping. She snuck in a few tricks that were ahead of their time when decorating, including using walls and floors that weren't originally in the catalogue, and the low roof trick for the patio on the right side of the house. The interior has 11 rooms and can sleep 4-6 sims, but the real highlight in the back patio and offset pool. This house was made for summer parties, so I think it will be a blast to play with Seasons and the rest of the EPs.

Easy Livin' by lrussim2 (3x4 lot, $173,342)

This house reminds me of the south, though I wouldn't say it adheres to a particular style of southern architecture. Something about its symmetrical shape and gentle contrast between the white windows and yellow siding contrast makes it feel inviting. The landscaping is, once again, extensive and beautiful (I couldn't landscape like this if I tried, and now it feels of a very different TS2 era). The first floor keeps the symmetrical layout (you may want to add a back door). Upstairs the three beds, three baths, and nursery allow you to cram a lot of sims in here. The big backyard will give them plenty to do.

I think taken together, lrussim2's style is clear. Lots of hardwood floors, stucco walls, large kitchens with plenty of windows letting in daylight, more ceiling plants than you thought possible, and extensive, lush landscaping bringing your sims outside to garden or lounge around the pool. These lots look wonderful around each other in a neighborhood, and demonstrate a high-point of TS2 traditional architecture using just the Base Game tools. If you like playing houses in this style, I think you will have a blast whether you update them to 2025's standards, or play them in their original conditions.
