Moana 2 spoilers (a little)

i hate to say it but I kinda get it now when people say "why cant two characters just be friends." guys. why are we shipping Moana and Maui.

im gonna preface this by saying i support shipping!! i encourage it!!!

BUTTTT

can we maybe just not ship these two..... i dont even really care about the age gap (thats not my biggest concern but its still a concern) (also i think shes of age in the second one so i dont see a huge problem with it). i dont think I have ever seen a girl and guy bestfriend in media JUST BE FRIENDS. like no ones in love with the other, not an inkling of romantic relationship, just pure friendship. and even if I have, they dont have the intamacy and dependancy like moana and maui do.

i love both their characters a lot and IN THE SECOND ONE THEY WERE SO CUTE. do you know how happy i was looking at those scenes of them caring for each other and knowing they were JUST FRIENDS?? i didnt have to ignore some weird romantic shit underneath it all!! they just cared for each other like two best friends do!!! its so pure!! they care so much!! and it is love but not romantic AT ALL!!!

it actually hurts my heart when i see people shipping them. do you know how long ive waited to see a relationship like this? why are we calling for disney to put them together??? please this is all i have.

also i think moana is super important representation of a woman who does not need to be in a relationship to be strong and awesome! i was about to type "a woman who does not need a man" but she does need a man and that man is maui and she needs that man because they are FRIENDS. they depend on each other like FRIENDS. moana shows us that women can be independant but not alone! they are allowed to have friends to rely on and those friends can be guys and those friendships dont have to be romatic at all.

2nd movie was pretty good, i liked the ending a LOT, the music in the first one was better (but its hard to beat lin).
