I stood back, watching both boys fight-even if it was just because of a childish reason without a moral at all. I simply took out my phone, and started scrolling through Magicam, bored out of my mind as I followed a few people that appeared on my feed.

Did I mention that Night Raven also had an official page? I didn't know that, until it appeared while I was scrolling down.

I hadn't paid much attention to neither party until I heard the red-haired boy scream in horror, "No! Now the Queen of Hearts' statue looks like it's been flame-broiled!"

Flame what?! "You guys can't be serious! Are you three out of your damn minds?! I look away from one second, and the statue of one of the Great Seven is burning in flames!"

"That's your fault for trying to divert it!" Grim yelled at Ace, "You shoulda just let it burn you to a crisp!"

"Who in their right mind would ever do that?!" Both me and Ace asked. It wasn't even a few seconds later that we heard a very familiar voice, "What is going on here?! Cease this at once!"

"Going back to Rose Killer doesn't seem like a bad idea now..." I whispered to no one in particular.

"No more lashings of love! We gotta get outta here!" As you guessed, that was Grim, not wanting to get lashed again by the headmaster. 'Is this guy always like this to make a student fear him that badly?'

Swash!

"That answers my question! Why am I the one getting hit?!"

Swash!

"OW!" Ace screamed in pain.

Swash!

"myaaaah! And I'm still sore from yesterday, too!" Grim yelled in agony. "As if the liked of you could ever flee from me! Haah... Did I not just warn you, 'no more incidents'? And now you've charred one of my statues?!" His voice increased as he went on, "It's almost as though you want to be expelled!"

Ace was in shock, from both the threat and the whipping, "No! Forgive me!"

Crowley then turned to look at Yuu, "And you, Yuu. You were specifically told to keep Grim under control!"

Yuu whispered, afraid to raise his voice in this situation, "I tried to stop him, but..."

"[L/N]," the head master turned to look at me now, and my head just raised slightly to acknowledge him, "don't think that you are any different from them!"

I didn't say anything, just crossing my arms, still mad that I was whipped while Yuu came out of this situation completely unharmed. "This will not do," murmured the masked man, "And you! State your name and grade."

Ace knew exactly that he was talking about him, and he sulked slightly, "Ace Trappola.... Freshman."

"Then listen well, Trappola. You too, Grim, [L/N] and Yuu. As punishment for today's infractions, you are hereby ordered to wash a hundred windows!"

"A hundred?!" I yelled, and the headmaster turned his head towards me, making my sweat drop slightly. "You will wash fifty, but you will take care of the plants in the botanical garden!"

"I shouldn't have opened my mouth at all..." I whispered. This man just had to be crazy enough.

"That's what you get for makin' fun of me!" Grim crossed his arms angrily as he yelled at Ace, "This is all your fault!"

"What?! I have to do it too?!"

Crowley looked at Ace with anger and disappointment, "Of course you do. You will meet in the cafeteria after class. Are we clear?"

Both me and Ace murmured a low, "Yes sir..." Grim then looked rather bothered, "Ugh, I just can't catch a break!"

I sighed, agreeing with the animal-like monster.

Class went as smoothly as it possibly could be. I now had athletics first period, which completely sucked, but it got me awake, so now I'm just waiting for the whole day to be over.

"I'm already exhausted from a full day of cleanin'. I can't believe we still gotta wash a hundred windows!" We were currently sitting around, waiting for Ace to show up in the cafeteria.

Grim and Yuu were sitting on the seats of the tables, while I was sitting on top of the table. My legs weren't open at all, in case you're wondering, due to my skirt being one of those skirts that was tight on your skin and made you look like a professional.

Now, I know I'm going off topic, but if you were given like ten different types of skirts to wear to school, you would freak out too. The only reason I choose the tight mini skirt is because I gotta say, I look like a whole desert.

But back on topic. Yuu turned to look at Grim, his sweat dropping ever so slightly, "We just gotta suck it up and do it."

I nodded in agreement, but my eyebrows furrowed right after, "Hey, have neither of you noticed how late it is, and yet Ace is nowhere to be seen?"

Grim agreed with me, crossing his arms in frustration, "It's been bugging me too! To make us wait, after what he did!"

We stayed silent for a brief moment as we waited. Minutes passed minutes, and we now knew the situation that we were in. "Now he's super late!" Grim yelled, "I bet he up and bailed on us!"

I sighed, "Let's just look for him. We could've easily done our part and just left him to do his, though."

"Ain't no way am I doin' his punishment for him!" The animal threw his arm in the air, "Come on, you two. I don't care if we gotta drag him kickin' and screamin', he's washing those windows!"

I sighed. We decided to look into one of his classrooms, and the first thing that we did, or rather, Grim did, was yell out for him. "Hey! Ace! Get over here! Try to hide from me, will ya!... Huh... Maybe there's really no one here?"

I hand caressed my temple, "You know, I'll be in the botanical garden if you need me. I need to take care of those plants, and quickly."

Yuu nodded towards me, "We'll see what we do about the whole Ace situation, good luck."

I left both Ramshackle dorm members behind as I left to do my own punishment in the botanical garden, which one would say that wasn't all that bad, considering that most flowers don't die easily. But hear me out, ok? I have to not only water all plants, which there are more than plenty of, but I also gotta add a growing solution to the soil, and we do have a few plants that, for some reason, are so dramatic.

I walked around the godforsaken garden, trying to finish as much as possible, but there was only ever so little I could get finished, and I knew right away, that I would hold this grudge against Ace for the rest of my life, all because he kept aggravating two other idiots.

All I ever did was stand around, and look exactly where that got me.

As I walked around, carelessly, I bumped into the chest of a boy. I looked up slightly to meet the same familiar eyes. "I apologize. It looks like we keep bumping into each other."

Kirin Alsteek.

I nodded my head as I gave him a closed eye smile, "It seems so. Say, would you mind giving me a hand? There are too many plants for me to take care of alone."

The eyes of the boys brightened as he nodded rapidly, but the look in his eyes changed quickly. "Actually... I was told I would find you here. I wanted to ask you something, or rather, beg you for something."

I noticed that the boy looked down, almost in a shame. My head tilted ever so slightly, "Go on, then. What exactly is it that you need?"

"Please let me work under you!"

I was silent for a brief minute, seeing as Karin bowed his head towards me, waiting for my response. Once he noticed that I hadn't said anything yet, he started to panic, meeting my eyes, "I mean-you don't have to! I-I could always just—"

"Sure."

He was confused, it was clear by his eyes widened and his mouth hung open, almost as if he wanted to say something. "No contracts have to be done, don't worry. It seems beneficial for both of us, and besides, you seem cloying to me, so I'm sure that you don't mean any harm."

I crossed my arms, and the boy seemed as if he didn't know whether to celebrate or cry on the spot. I told him a few things that he did have to follow though, he couldn't work under anyone else but me, he couldn't disobey my orders not break my rules, and it was best if he sticker around me at all times, just in case.

He agreed, even after he had heard all the rules, and told me that he would help me with the plants. We talked for a while, and soon enough we were almost done with half of the plants.

"My Lady, it's getting late, maybe we should continue tomorrow?"

I nodded, "You know you don't have to say 'My Lady,' all the time, right? You can just call me [Y/N]."

The boy was in shock, and right when he was about to say something, he was cut off by a loud Eek! that came out of my mouth, "I-I think I stepped on something..."

I looked around, only to find a boy laying behind the bushes, now awake. He seemed to have the tail and ear of a lion, and by the looks of it, I had just stepped on his tail.

"I'm so—" "I don't know exactly what you're thinking, but if it is that you can just freely step on my tail and get away, know that you are wrong!"

The dark skinned boy crossed his arms. He was now standing up, and I had to look up to meet his hard, cold gaze. If I hadn't known better, I would have thought that he would eat me alive, and he looked like he was holding back onto beating me up.

His brows furrowed, but soon, a cocky smirk was placed on his face. "Well, will you look at who it is. It's the girl that isn't even supposed to be here," he placed a hand on his head, "you will still owe me for stepping in my tail."

I sighed, "Is there really anything I can do?"

"Simple, be my errand runner."

The boy next to me then decided to step in between us, "Wait, isn't there any other way? Maybe we could pay for your lunch or something?"

"Kirin, it's fine."

I then turned to meet the green eyes of the beast-man who stood before me, "I'll do it. But I'll only go for a week," I crossed my arms, "I don't know about you, but I am very busy."

The boy's smirk got wider. He agreed on the terms, and told me that I would start tomorrow, by heading to the Savanaclaw dorm in the morning, there I would meet a boy named Ruggie Bucci, who would tell me what I would do.

The man, who told me his name was Leona Kingscholar, left to head back to his house dorm while me and Karin stayed behind. Karin was freaking out about the whole thing, and he promised to help me with anything I needed help with.

"Kirin, don't worry, I'll be fine. You'll just work under me, so don't even think about following any of his sayings. I'm sorry I even brought you into this."

"My La—[Y/N], it's alright. If anything is needed from you, please inform me at any time."

The boy put his fist on top of his chest, and I put my right hand on my hip, "Actually, there is something I need from you... I need information..."

Drip.... Drip... Drip...

I woke up feeling a lot better than I did the night before. The first thing I noticed once I opened my eyes were my crimson red nails, 'I guess I was too tired, that's kinda funny.'

I stretched before grabbing my uniform and a towel, heading outside of my dorm, finding a few students outside of the shower already. The halls were crowded, but soon each student started leaving in order to catch breakfast.

"Sorry! Are you ok?" A boy who looked younger than me bumped onto my chest. He was pretty short, but he looked like he could hold himself together.

"It's alright, are you feeling alright?" The boy nodded and explained to me that he was in a rush to take a shower and needed guidance, "No problem, I'm heading there, so it won't bother me to take you there."

"Thank you! Say, could I perhaps get your name?" I chuckled, "[Y/N] [L/N], pleasure to meet you."

The boy's eyes widened, "As in... The soon-to-be queen of the Zaterrian people?! As in the soon-to-be queen of the Walking Sand Desert?! I gotta be dreaming, or maybe I'm dead!" Zaterrians was what we called the people from back home, and they were named after one of the queens that managed killing half an army during war.

Sure, we kept peace most of the time, but that didn't meant that we didn't have rules that would behead people for kicks and fun—which you could clearly point fingers to more than half of our rulers. Did we kept peace with other nations? Sure. Are we known for being cruel to people? That too.

"You aren't dreaming nor dead... Is it that much of a surprise?" I murmured, and the boy shook his head, "No, it's just that... It's not an everyday thing you see royalty, more or so a girl just in general."

I shrugged, "Honestly, I am just as surprised as you onto why I'm here. The headmaster probably kept me just to bring eyes to his school."

The boy chuckled, "I'm Kirin Alsteek, and I'm also from the Walking Sand Desert. From the north, rather."

I raised an eyebrow in interest, "The north? Then you—"

I was interrupted by a certain red hair, "[Y/N], right? I've been informed that your schedule has changed," he handed me a paper, which I took quickly, "I also recommend you two get ready, you will be punished severely if you're late."

He left without another word, and we both sighed in defeat, "I guess he's right."

I nodded, leading the boy to the bathrooms. After we were both done, we quickly changed into our uniforms. Our attires weren't very different from neither each other nor the others, the only exception was that I wore a skirt that reached my thigh. I also wore square heel shoes that boosted my height ever so slightly.

I took off my jacket, revealing my red vest that laid on top of my shirt. "I believe this is where we part ways, more or so because I wouldn't want to be late on my first day here, but it was a pleasure meeting you, your highness."

Kirin bowed, and I told him that it wasn't necessary, but he only gave me a closed eye grin. He left quickly as he came, and I made my way to the Ramshackle dorm, waiting at the gates for the animal-mage and the magic-less boy as I stood out there, I watched as Crowley left the dorm, greeting me as he passed by.

"I swear, people here are weirder than the people from Rose Killer."

I heard footsteps from behind me, and I turned to meet two confused looks from certain boys, "I didn't know that they had female uniforms."

The pitch-high voice of Grim took over my ears, "Honestly, I didn't expect it either, but this works just fine."

Yuu joined in on the conversation, pointing at me, "I thought you might like the heat..."my ears perked at this, "Oh, you mean why did I take off my jacket? It's nothing much, really. I just didn't feel like wearing it, that's all."

The boy nodded, but it was clear to me that he didn't understand a word I had said, gladly for him, I left the topic alone and walked to the school with them. "Did I tell you that I just got my schedule changed completely?"

The creature then yelled onto my ears, more or so because I was in the middle of both of them, "What?! Did you do something wrong on the first day? Honestly, I wouldn't even be surprised."

I crossed my arms and furrowed my brows, "Well, first of all, I didn't do anything wrong. Second of all, I think that one of my classes was full, that's all."

As we walked to school, we held light conversations. The building wasn't far away from the dorms at all, but there was a little walking to be done beforehand.

"Hey, do you think I'll ever be able to go back home?..." The question threw me off, but I gave Yuu a tooth grin, "Don't think negative, I'm sure you'll make it back home safely after all."

He gave me a bittersweet smile, and Grim nodded in agreement, "Yeah! You have the great Grim after all! I'll make sure that you make it safely!"

Both mine and Yuu's sweat dropped a little, "There he goes again," Yuu whispered.

"You just can't miss it," I said in a hushed voice.

And clearly, Grim heard both of us, we just didn't pay much attention to his screaming. The school building then entered our vision as we made our way through the crowd of people.

"Wow," Grim was awed as he looked around, "so this is Main Street, huh? This is incredible!" the creature crossed his arms, "I didn't get to see much of it yesterday. What's the deal with these seven statues? All their faces look pretty scary."

Yuu shrugged, and I rolled my shoulders back as Grim kept going, "Like, this lady looks like she got some reeeal anger management issues," he pointed towards the Queen of Hearts and stared at her statue for a long while until we were interrupted by a voice.

"You don't know the Queen of Hearts?"

We all turned to meet the face of a red haired boy who had the painting of a heart on the left side of his face.

He was wearing the same shade of red I wore, and had the same arm-band that I had on my left arm, the only difference was that I was wearing a skirt with high-knee socks and didn't have my jacket on me at the moment. But other than that, we both had the same pattern on our uniforms, had the same tie, and even both of our uniforms were slightly loose in the neck.

"Queen of Hearts? Is she some kinda big deal?" Grim asked the red haired boy, and I slammed my hand over my forehead, 'For a monster, you sure know your Big Seven.'

The boy responded in a slightly cheerful voice, "She was a queen who lived in a maze-like garden of roses long, long ago," we all turned to look at the statue of the Queen of Hearts, "she was a strict woman who prized order above all. She wouldn't tolerate a rose being off-color, or her playing-card soldiers being out of step.

"She basically ruled over a kingdom of madness, but not one of her subjects dared to defy her. You wanna know why? Because the punishment for breaking a rule was immediate decapitation!"

We all listened to the boy talk, and I spaced out for a moment, thinking to myself, what if that was me someday? I wouldn't mind being feared, even if I already was.

Grim was in shock, saying how that was messed up, but the boy only smiled, "Pretty cool, right? I'm a big fan. I mean, who would bother to obey a queen that was kind all the time?"

I chuckled, "That is true. A leader must be strong, both inside and outside in order to be followed. But I believe that is besides the topic," I turned to look at the boy, "I do hope we get your name."

The boy smiled brightly, introducing himself with cheer, "Name's Ace. I'm a first-year student here, as of... today! Pleased to meetcha!"

"I'm [Y/N], pleasure to meet you."

I didn't know why, but my gut felt like something more was behind this whole thing. I simply tried shrugging it off at the moment as Grim smiled proudly and cockily, "I'm Grim! I'm a prodigy who's planning to be, like, the greatest mage who ever lived. That there's my far less interesting hench-human."

Grim was clearly talking about Yuu, and we all knew it, "'Yuu'? Huh. Name's got an odd ring to it."

Yuu only smiled awkwardly, "It's nice to meet you."

Grim then decided to get the attention of Ace once again, pointing towards the lion. "So tell me, Ace. Is that lion with a scar in the eye a famous ruler too?"

"Of course!"

Sure, I had paid attention to my history lessons, but every story did touch my interest. If there was one thing I could never get bored of, it is getting told stories. That is pretty much how I spend my time while inside the Blood Temple, and not because I was locked inside, trapped and waiting to die, I simply never went out because everyone knew better than going out when the sun was out.

I always loved listening to the stories that the people told me, like how they became royal guards, or how the one of the past rulers almost died—which was very often, if you asked me. But for some reason, our bloodline either died really young, or old enough to have a grandchild.

But don't get me wrong, most of them died pretty young, one of our rulers dying on the night of her coronation at eighteen. It was said that she died due to a broken heart, since coronation has to be done in the same week, if not day, that the last queen passes on.

"That's the King of Beasts who ruled the savanna. But he wasn't born into the throne—he had to earn it through hard work and elaborate schemes. When he became king, he decreed that the hyenas would be pariahs no more, and should live among his subjects as equals."

The Grim was in shock, "Sounds like a great guy! Not everyone's able to look past social status like that."

I then remembered Kirin, 'Yeah, thanks Grim, really appreciate it. In all honesty.'

Grim continued to ask about every other ruler, and Ace answered with honesty about the Sea Witch, the Sorcerer of the Sands, the Fairy Queen, the King of the Underworld and the Torn Fairy. And even after all of that, I still had this guy feeling.

"Pretty cool, huh?" Ace then gave us a cocky grin, "Not like some piddling weasel."

I sighed. "I'm seriously starting to think that everyone in my dorm is just as messed up in the head," I murmured to myself.

Ace laughed loudly till his stomach hurt, clearly mocking both Yuu and Grim, "Come on, you're the ones who turned orientation into such a fiasco, right? The one summoned by the Dark Mirror who can't even use magic, and the monster no one summoned at all.

"It took everything I had not to burst into laughter right in the middle of the ceremony!"

Grim was trying to tell him off while me and Yuu simply stared at the boy, him and disbelief and me in disappointment. This boy was the most naive person I've ever come across, right below You and Grim—ignoring the fact that Grim was a monster, not a human.

"So I'm the end, neither of you got admitted and now you're janitors? Ah ha ha! SO lame!"

The fight was mostly between Grim and Ace, I didn't say anything, and rather just listened to them.

"Uh-oh... This is not gonna end well," Whispered Yuu to me, and I nodded my head as I watched both boys from slightly afar.

"Unlike you, I have classes to get to, so I'll let you get back to picking trash. Bye!" And as much as I wanted to tear his guts apart, I knew the boy was right, and he clearly knew it too, for he waited slightly, turning towards me as he gave me another one of his grins.

"Myuh-uh!" Grim called out, "You ain't walking away from me! It's too late for that!" We couldn't see anything other than blue flames that surrounded us. I then thought, why was I even brought into this whole mess? In all honesty, I could've just left for class without a problem, so why exactly am I here?

"No one makes fun of Grim, Master of FireN I'm gonna make that explodey-head of yours explode all over again!"

"Explodey-head?!" The boy asked, clearly irritated, "You wanna throw down with me, shorty? You got some guts. You wanna talk hair, huh? I'm gonna shave you like a toy poodle!"

I sighed in irritation, watching the whole scene unfold in front of my eyes and seeing as students started surrounding us. Clearly, I would never catch a break in this school.

After the ceremony was over, and after everyone found out that Yuu was powerless, everyone was led to their respective dorms by their housewarden.

"This will be your new home. You are to follow all the rules," he glared at us, and most of the first years, knowing that they didn't want trouble, decided to listen, "you are to be in your rooms by bedtime, if you decide to break any rule, it will be off with your head, am I clear?"

All the students nodded, and once he was away from our view, everyone started talking, "No way he is really that strict..."

I sighed, leaving them behind and entering my room. The room wasn't huge, but it was big enough for me to fit my stuff and decorate it to my liking, or at least as much as I could decorate with the rules still applying. As I set my stuff where they belonged, I remember the ceremony.

From Grim trying to burn us alive, to Yuu being magic-less, and yet he was still able to enter the academy. It surprised me that Yuu was allowed in, but somehow, he just was.

I sighed, there were also a few new faces. I learned that my housewarden was named Riddle, and by overheating a few other students, I quickly learned the names of other housewardens.

Octavinelle's was Azul, a guy who enjoys making contracts . Scarabia was known for having Kalim, a bright, young boy as their leader. Pomefiore's head was named Vil, and you could say that he was pretty strict with beauty rules. Ignihyde's housewarden was named Idia, and he wouldn't usually be seen in crowded areas, and would rather talk through an iPad. Diasomnia was led by a guy named Malleus, and by the looks of it, he was almost never invited to anything.

There was also this other dorm, Savanaclaw, which was led by a man named Leona. It surprised me when I heard that he was royal, and from the nearby kingdom called Sunset Savannah, which meant that he was part lion.

It didn't shock me in a bad way, it just made me raise an eyebrow, more or so because it was rare. I had seen a couple of people that were part animals, but it wasn't an everyday thing, especially since I was always either stuck inside the castle, which the people back home called The Temple Of Blood, or inside my room, studying on some sort of topic during free hours while in school.

I was done unpacking, which wasn't much other than the clothes I was given, placing my uniform for tomorrow in the front of my closet, etc. It wasn't until a little later that I saw the violin laying on the corner of my room.

'Weird. I didn't even notice it... Oh well, what can be done about that other than playing the instrument?'

And without hesitation, I picked up the four string instrument, placing my chin on the chin rest and holding the bow on my right hand. I quickly tuned the violin, making sure that it sounded right without any failure.

I didn't have any particular song in mind, and knowing that I was given the room that had the thickest walls since I was a girl, I decided to play Swan Lake, by Tchaikovsky. For someone to know how to play an instrument was extremely common in my home land, and you could hear the tone of music all around the streets, you could also see a teacher or a parent teaching a young child how to play an instrument.

Even in the heat of the lands, orchestra instruments were preserved in a special room provided by my family. If there was one thing that we completely believe should be valued, it is the music that one can play.

I had memorized the music, so it wasn't all that hard, but what surprised me was that the instrument looked and sounded rather new, so I guessed that it was really taken care of, or it truly was brand new.

After I was done, I made sure to untighten the bow, and place the instrument safely back into its case. I sat on my bed for a while, thinking of a way to pass time, but nothing other than walk around and explore came to my mind. "It's getting dark, but no one will know I was even out."

I walked around, and don't get me wrong, the place was pretty, but it was rather boring. I was alone the whole time, so there was no one I could talk to, and the only place I had left to explore was the botanical garden.

Upon entering the place, I noticed that the flowers held a strong scent, but pleasant for the nostrils. I looked around the place, and noticed that the whole garden was abandoned at the moment, and while I was walking around the area, I noticed that on the floor, or rather grass that was under a tree, there laid a chessboard.

The pieces were placed on the correct order where they belonged, but one single piece was moved. The white pawn in E-Two was moved to E-four, and since I noticed that no one had played against them, I moved my black pawn from E-Seven to E-five.

I didn't do anything afterwards, not like I could when the other player hasn't moved, and decided to leave it at that. I returned back to the dorm before supper, and I did notice that most of my dorm mates had left already, only very few staying behind to chat.

I was no different from the ones that left, and once I entered the cafeteria, I noticed the small wave that Yuu gave me. I approached both him and Grim, greeting them as the small animal rambled on about his complaint. It surprised me that he was still here, but then again, the headmage looked like he would let anyone in.

"[Y/N]! Can you believe it? They ran out of sweets! The only reason I'm here is completely gone! Gone into the stomachs of other pests!"

My sweat dropped, "Pests? Sure... Anyways, how is it going so far?"

Yuu sighed, "The dorm looks like it is about to fall off, and somehow he was allowed in the academy."

"I can tell," I chuckled, "I'm surprised that he was even given his own little bow tie."

But Grim didn't listen to a word I had said, he was too focused on the situation with the sweets. Yuu, on the other hand, informed me about the current dorm they were staying in, Ramshackle dorm, and how it is hunted by ghosts and now have to renovate it all by themselves.

"Don't sweat it. I'll probably come by someday and help you," I gave him a closed-eye smile, and Yuu instantly brightened up at the thought, "but of course, I'll need something in return."

"I got my hopes up for nothing," he sulked. "I need—"

"Are you even listening?! My poor babies are gone!" Grim interrupted me, crying about the desert he wanted. I sighed and whispered in a low, sweet voice, "I'll tell you later."

I got up from my seat, approaching the stand that sold food, but was soon pushed out of the way by a boy. "Running late!" He screamed, and I was a little startled.

The boy had dark roots that faced into blonde, wore black leather jacket on top of an oversized shirt, jeans and some boots. I couldn't really see what was wrapped around his neck, but I could tell it was an orange tone yellow, and he also had animal ears on top of his head.

I clearly was in a rush to get somewhere, and he looked to be carrying some types, probably food. I didn't try to run after him, it wasn't my business what he did.

I sighed in frustration and made my way to the cafe to buy something. "Anything I could help you with?" Asked a boy with glasses, the same guy I saw at the ceremony.

"Anything that has lots of sugar, I'm kind of in need to shut someone up."

He nodded, quickly grabbing a cup of tea, "It is the best we have, sorry. It always is busy, so items run out fast when you aren't here early, especially on ceremonies or special events."

I rubbed my temples, thanking him as I took the cup away from his hand. After I was done paying for the drink, I immediately took it back to the cat-like mage, placing it in front of him. "What am I supposed to do with this?!"

"Drink it and shut up," I offered him a closed eye smile, which shut him up right away. He started drinking, sulking while me and Yuu went back to talking. He soon told me that he would head back to the dorm to try and get some sleep before his first class.

"We won't see each other. I already have my schedule assigned, and considering I'm a third year, we clearly won't have any classes together unless they're extra curricula."

"Huh?! What are your classes? Maybe we do have some together!"

"It's really tight... I have homeroom in classroom 3-A. Humanities come for the first period, and it alternates between History of Magic and Animal Languages. Science also alternates between alchemy, astrology, biology and magical potions."

"Wow-that really is a tight schedule..."

I sighed, "that's not even third period yet. Next I have mathematics, which I decided to take advanced calculus and advanced statistics. Then magic will transition to practical magic, magic analysis, ancient curses, conjuration and defense magic. I also have physical education, flying and swimming, but then again, everyone has it. Oh! I also took an extra classes!"

"Really? Which one?"

"Music! I'm glad there was an option for that one," I smiled brightly, and Yuu chuckled at my face.

"I have the same classes as you, but it's less packed, and I have a different type of math class. But I will probably see you around, in between classes."

"Did you and Grim get classes together?"

Yuu sighed in frustration, "All of them."

I laughed as my sweat dropped. This poor kid was really about to go through a rough year. "I'm sure we could meet up during free time. I say we could always meet in the botanical garden in case of any emergency."

Yuu nodded, telling Grim, who was still mad at the incident with the sweets, that they should start heading back to their corresponding dorm and maybe sleep. Grim tried telling him off by saying that he was starving, but Yuu didn't listen and dragged him away.

I just stood there, waving at them and watching them walk away. I sighed and passed my hand through my hair as I stood from my seat, walking towards the botanical garden, back to the same spot that I found the chessboard in.

Nothing had changed, and I didn't know what exactly I had expected, for a piece to magically move? I couldn't really tell, all I knew is that I expected something more than that.

I let out a small yawn, signifying that it was now my cue to leave the place, and probably just relax on my bed until I fell asleep. I approached the dormitory, hearing whispers from a few boys, but due to how tired I was, I didn't pay any attention to them, only caring about finally closing my eyes at peace.

I entered my room and locked the door as I changed onto my pajamas, which I chose randomly due to the fact that I was on the verge of falling asleep on the cold floor, only holding back because that blanket really looked warm and fuzzy.

I turned off all the lights in my room and calmly walked to the bed, drifting to sleep as my eyelids closed heavily.

'Maybe I over-did it today.'

My head started throbbing in pain, screaming for light while my lungs shouted for some air to be let inside. I tried opening my eyes, but I couldn't see anything, and darkness had taken over my vision.

I began to feel as my head stirred, making me hokd it in place as I closed my eyes. My vision didn't turn any darker than it was, but rather lighter, and once I opened them again, I saw the face of a man with beautiful features that were contained within him, but everything went dark once again.

Once I managed to move inside the stuffy cage-like, I started to see the top of the box opening, meeting the eyes of a small animal that looked to be a cat.

'Just where am I? This is clearly not the academy.'

I didn't pay much attention to the cat, but rather myself, and once I turned to look at clothes, I saw that I was wearing something different than the usual outfit I wore. A black hood with a purple layer on the inside along with some white patterns that spread through some part of the hood.

I noticed that I had black clothes underneath too, which shocked me and put me in a train of thoughts as to who changed my clothes.

I decided to pay attention to my surroundings as I had witnessed that the cat-like animal was now staring at me. "What?! You ain't supposed to be awake!" Screamed the creature in shock.

"Floating coffins?..." I murmured, not paying attention to the talking cat.

"Oh-ho! You got a lot of nerve ignoring me, human! The name's grim. Believe me, you won't forget it!" I saw as Grim crossed his little arms, furious at the thought of being ignored, "Now give me your uniform, and be quick about it!

"'Cause if you don't," blue fire started spreading all around me like a wildfire, "you're gonna regret it!"

"I would've never dreamed of getting roasted by some weasel-like creature..." I whispered, angering the creature.

"Well, keep dreaming, 'cause I ain't no weasel!"

"What is it you want?" I asked, and Grim seemed satisfied with my question, smirking as he crossed his arms once again, "Your uniform, of course! I need it more than you would ever need it!"

While he was speaking, I noticed that there was an exit through the fire, and I decided to take it to my advantage. I ran all over the place, opening and closing doors as I passed through them, finally making it to what seemed to be a library.

'If this is a dream, I believe I'm ready to wake up now.'

Just then, Grim appeared in front of me once again. His face held the same grin I had seen previously, and his flames surrounded me for a second time, "Foolish human! Did you really think you could slip away from me?! Now, unless you wanna get burned to a crisp, take that off that-"

Grim was cut off by a whip-like sound that came from behind him, "YEOW! That Hurt! What gives?..."

"Consider it though love," I saw as a man came into our vision, wearing a formal attire with a top hat and a mask that probably represented a bird.

"Ah," he turned to look at me, "I've found you at last, splendid. I trust you're one of this year's new students?"

"My," I saw as he looked me up and done, almost as if judgemental, "were you ever eager to make your debut. And bringing a poorly trained familiar with you? That is a clear violation of the school's rules."

"I don't even-" "As if I'd serve some lowly human! Now let me go!" Screamed the furry creature, interrupting me mid-sentence.

The man got closer to the floating animal, shushing it as it talked, "Yes, yes. Rebellious familiars always say that. Do be quiet for a bit, won't you?"

Grim tried to talk, but he couldn't, which confused me a little. This made me go back to before all of this. Why exactly was I here when I already had a chosen school?

I remembered the academy. It was a huge, all-girls school called Rose Killer Academy, named after the founder, who was a young, smart woman who everyone knew due to her wisdom.

I was already a third year, so it made me wonder why exactly I was stuck in this situation. And thinking about it brought me back to the person who stood in front of me.

By the looks of the uniforms, it was one of the colleges that Rose Killer Academy held a grudge against. And knowing that it wasn't Royal Sword Academy thanks to the dark colored theme uniforms, I came to the conclusion that it was their major rival.

Both schools were all-boys schools, so I had a hard time believing that they must've mistaken me for another student. But needless to say, I decided to ignore it at the moment, only speaking when necessary.

"Dear me. Of all the students I've dealt with, you two are the first ones with temerity enough to open their own gate and step out of it," I hadn't noticed before, but was this other student, a boy, standing next to the crow-man, wearing the same uniform as me, "does the very notion of patience elide you two?

"No matter. Your orientation has already begun. Let us return to the Mirror Chamber."

Me and the boy stood quietly for a brief second, only for the silence to be broken by his voice, "Student?..."

The man with the mask nodded in response, "You awakened in a room full of gates, did you not? All the students here at the campus arrived by passing through such gates," he crossed his arms in an irritated manner, "although typically the students have restraint enough to wait until I pen them before waking up."

"So these coffins are like, gateways?" I asked, and the boy agreed with me, "I think something blew the lid off mine."

He looked at the younger boy, who was now standing next to me, "The culprit appears to be that familiar of yours. You're the one who insisted on bringing it, so curtailing its behavior is your responsibility!" He placed his hand under his chin, thinking of a solution, "But now is not the time for such prattle. You two have a student orientation to attend. Go on, now. Make haste."

"First, just tell me one thing: Where am I?" The boy asked, and I agreed, "I think you've mistaken me for someone."

"Hmm? Have you two not fully regained consciousness? The timespace teleportation must have added your memories. Well, these things happen, I suppose. I shall explain it to you while we walk. Truly, my magnanimity is boundless."

We exited the building, onto the courtyard, and as he explained where we currently were, I decided to stay quiet on the topic that I was actually a girl, since they hadn't noticed yet.

"Only those who the Dark Mirror perceived as having a talent for magic are admitted to the college. Those who are selected are summoned to the campus through those gates, which can appear anywhere."

The man, who I now knew as Crowley, informed us about the carriage, which both me and the student remembered.

We both heard the muffled sounds of Grim, but Crowley decided to speak up, "Now, let us attend to your orientation."

"Wait!"

Both males turned to look at me. "Is there something wrong?" Asked the masked guy.

"There is, in fact, something wrong," I took off my hood from my head, revealing my face to them, "this is an all-boys school, isn't it? The problem is, I'm a female, not a male."

Crowley was deep in thought, placing his hand under his chin, "There must've been a mistake made, but if you were really brought by the Dark Mirror, then you must've been chosen, or something along those lines. Say, where are you from?"

I stayed silent, not knowing how to answer, "Well?"

"I'm from the Walking Sands Desert, but I attend Rose Killer Academy as a third year. I'm not sure what you will do with that information, but I shall assume that it will come in handy," I crossed my arms, making eye contact with Crowley as the nameless boy just stood there confused.

"Walking Sand Desert? Rose Killer Academy? I think I'm missing something."

I nodded, then explained about the academy to the youngster, "Rose Killer Academy is a strict college that many of the smartest, wisest and talented people go to. The school has its ups and downs, for while you are seen as one of the most prestigious people, the stress keeps mounting on as the years go.

"Not many people qualify, and the headmistress held various, strict rules that no one dared break out of fear. Students couldn't fail a year, or else you would gain a harsh punishment. No one was suggested nor invited to take part in the school, the students were expected to pass a test that contained the use of agility, ability, magic and wisdom in order to pass and get into said school. There were also many minor rules, but if I were to name them all, we would be stuck here for years."

The headmaster cleared his throat, placing his hand under his chin, "Walking Sand Desert is, in other words, a matriarch Kingdom, and while there are kings, it is the female that carries most of the responsibilities and holds more power. The place is extremely guarded, and the only people who are allowed inside are the people that have permission of the royal family. The kingdom is not always reachable, due to its strict rules, but it can be found in its own land, between Sunset Savannah and Queendom of Roses.

"The [L/N]'s currently consist of a king and queen, along with their daughter. Nothing much is known from both the family of rulers nor the land, all that can be said, is that they are a powerful kingdom who, even with their strong army, prefer keeping peace.

"And with the key information that no one other than royalty and special families are allowed out of the city, I'll take the wild guess that you are [Y/N] [L/N], am I right?"

I crossed my arms, not rather shocked by how quick he was to find out, "That is correct, although, people are allowed out of the city with permission of the royal. But needless to say, I presume that, since now you know who I am, you will keep me here longer to bring an eye to your school, correct?"

The headmaster chuckled, dismissing me. While Crowley led us, I turned to look at the student next to me, "Say, you never told me your name."

"Huh, me? Sorry! Call me Yuu, it's a pleasure meeting you."

We exchanged a few words, until we turned our attention back to the bird masked man. He brought me and Yuu to a room full of people, who wore an identical outfit to ours. The room was not only heavily crowded, but it also carried a mysterious aura to it. Coffins levitated through the air, and a mirror laid in front of our eyes.

"We're done with orientation and dorm assignments?" Asked a boy with red hair, "All right, new students-let me be clear. At Heartslabyul House, I am the law. Break the rules, and it's off with your head!"

Then, a boy who had long haired, some parts braided, yawned, "Well, that ceremony was as boring as ever. I'm going back to the dorm. If you're in Savanaclaw House, follow me."

A boy who wore glasses then spoke, "New students! Allow me to be the first to congratulate you on your achievement. As dorm leader of Octavinelle House, I am honored to have the opportunity to support you in what I hope will be a fulfilling campus experience."

I then saw a boy with blond hair that faded into a shade of purple speak, looking around for someone, "Hey, does anyone know where the headmage went? He disappeared midway through the ceremony..."

He was replied to by some other boys, but that was when the headmaster decided to speak up, responding to the boy who thought he disappeared due to a stomach ache, "I most certainly did not!"

"Speak of the devil," One murmured.

"If you must know, I was searching for two new students who'd failed to show for orientation. You two are the only ones who have yet to be assigned a dorm. Let [Y/N] be the first to step up to the Dark Mirror, and be quick about it. I'll watch your weasel."

Grim tried to speak once again, but failed in the process. I walked up to the mirror that held a face, or rather a mask, and it asked me for my name.

"[Y/N]. My name is [Y/N] [L/N]."

The mask repeated my name in a low tone, and whispers started spreading as I pulled my hood down from my face, revealing my female features.

"The nature of your soul is..." It stayed silent for a few moments, and everyone got quiet, waiting for the results. The mirror furrowed his eyebrows in frustration, "In a balance."

"What?"

"Your soul... It is balanced between two houses, Heartslabyul and Savanaclaw. It will be placed upon you to determine which house you will go to."

I looked back to the headmage, and saw that he was in just as much shock as I was. I sighed, "I'll give Heartslabyul a try."

Late Night Run

I sat on the red swing, not swinging but just admiring the view of the dark, cloudy sky that was filled with the coldness of the moon.

I had lost track of time, but I knew it was past midnight, meaning that everyone had gone home for the night.

Originally, I had come here to read peacefully, but I easily got distracted and started into the abyss.

I closed the book in my hands, No Longer Human, a short book written by Osamu Dazai.

The book was well written, but it was based on the terrible life of the main character, Oba Yozo, who was clearly based on the author.

I wasn't a huge fan of Osamu's books, for his books weren't all that great, but it amazed me how well written they were for those times.

It was clear that the Japanese-author wasn't a complete great person—but no one would be after driving his wife to commit suicide.

I left the thought behind and started swinging myself on the red swing, making it make a CHINNN noise as it swung.

It had been a few minutes until I started hearing footsteps from behind me, making me stop in my action and look over my shoulder.

There stood a tall, male figure, who I quickly recognized.

"Changed your mind, yes?" I asked, whispering low, but loud enough for him to hear me in the dead silence.

He scoffed, "whatever you mean?"

I sighed and stood up, dropping the book that was no longer in my lap.

"Listen here, arsehole," I started, "if you think I will go, and handle your 'I hate you when I'm around others but I'll be friendly when alone with you' shit, then let me tell you otherwise."

He glared at you, only making you glare back at him, "I don't act in such stupid way, it's only you who goes around thinking we're friends."

You have to be kidding me.

"No idea what kind of drug you are on now, Hopper, but must I remind you that you were the one who kept acting all nice around me?"

He started stepping towards me, making me stand my ground and puff my chest as I huffed. He grabbed my arm, raising it over his head to make sure I was looking at him and nothing else.

Even if he was a major arsehole, I couldn't deny it, he was very good looking. I didn't know what exactly was the good looking part, if it was his gold, curly hair, or his crystal blue pale eyes, or was it maybe the way he didn't handle people's bullshit? I couldn't tell, and probably will never be able to.

"I'm not into some kind of drug, I know my place and I know when to stop. You are just hallucinating with this whole 'friendship' thing you've created in your mind."

I groaned, "I wouldn't imagine such things, you probably just messed around with my mind and decided to insert those thoughts into it."

"So you admit to thinking about it?" He smirked, I didn't even think about my words, and that was my mistake, but I didn't show it.

No way I'm letting an arsehole like him get to me.

"Oh please, you are putting words in my mouth! Would you just leave me the fuck alone once and for all?"

I turned around, bending over to grab my book and walk away, but before I could, Vance had pushed me down to the floor, making me scrape my hands and knees.

"JUST WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM?!" I screamed at his, trying to get myself up before he kicked me back to the floor.

It was really no wonder the guy had no girlfriend, he was a major arsehole, and even if he did, she would have to be an idiot if she liked him for his angry personality.

If only he didn't have such an impulsive personality, then maybe, just maybe, girls wouldn't be afraid and would want to date him.

Just when I was about to scream at him again I saw the same ban that I knew screamed trouble, so I stayed silent. He must've noticed cause he turned the way I was looking at.

I noticed he stuffed slightly—almost as if he knew the same thing I did, but I didn't mention it, because I knew he would lash out on me.

I quickly got up and crouched down, going to the nearest bush to hide since I noticed the man wearing the hat hadn't noticed us just yet.

Vance did the same, crouching and trying to head to the nearest bust, but by then, the man had noticed him.

The pale guy rapidly got out of his ban, heading our way, and out of rush I grabbed Vance's hand and started backing away from the man slowly to show that we didn't want him near.

"Sorry if I frightened you," he stated, clearly noticing our overwhelmed figures, "but I couldn't help but wonder what two kids are doing out here at this hour and all alone."

He was slowly trying to get close to us, only to make us back away further from him.

He sighed, "I could take both of y'all home, I ain't a thread."

"He's clearly lying." Whispered Vance to me. The man, due to his age, not being able to hear us.

"We're fine, we are in any need for your help, sir." I spoke, trying my best to sound calm and polite without raising any eyebrows.

"I insist, please, I wouldn't want either of you getting hurt."

Me and Vance turned to look at each other, him shaking his head no.

"No, we're going now."

I sighed, having to agree with Vance in this one, whoever liked risking their life like this is crazy enough to be put into a mental institution.

The man was about to say something but Vance quickly ran, pulling me with him.

I had left my book behind, not even caring about it at the moment.

"He's clearly trying to get us both inside his ban." Vance yelled as we ran.

I was rather surprised, "But two in one? Is he trying to get caught?!"

"No fucking idea, and I don't wanna know!"

We could tell that the fucker was following us, because we heard the sound of a car nearing us, but clearly he was maintaining his distance and trying to be as silent as possible.

It was dead silent at night, so you could hear those who love to take late night walks. In this case, a late night run.

We had no fucking idea how long we had been running for, nor how many times we ran out of breaths and has to stop due to the pain in our feet, but we didn't completely stop running due to the danger we were in at the moment.

It wasn't until a few minutes later that the neighborhood Vance lived in came into view.

"Go, I'll get back home as safely as possible." I told him as we breathed heavily.

"Don't you dare die on me [L/N]." He said and nodded to me as he ran home, climbing his window to get inside.

It was clear that the boy didn't have a stable household, probably the reason for his anger, but one could never tell.

I didn't even want to think of it at the moment, I just wanted to get home safely and be able to breathe again.

I got to the neighborhood I lived in, but the demon had caught up to me by then.

I didn't even make it home.

Shopping Spree

Have you ever wondered how people come to meet once another?

Everyone has the same question in mind, whether it is at a different time or different place.

You never know when something might happen, whether it's a good thing or not.

The first time that I met Adalyn was back in 7th grade. At first, I thought she was annoying and only wanted attention, but that grew to not be true.

Gabriela, who I sometimes call Gabi, was always someone I wanted to talk to, but simply couldn't. I can't remember if it was because I was scared or not.

It was a surprised at how many Gabbies I knew.

The ones in my main friend group, Gaby and Gabby, and now Gabi. It was confusing at first when talking to my friends about them, but eventually I learned that if I was to talk about one of them, I would just mention their characteristics.

We were all at the arcade, Gabi and Adalyn playing some random game while I was playing Resident Evil.

"Fuck, I knew I took too many things while playing as Claire." I cursed under my breath, blaming myself for taking so many bullets and green herbs as her.

Now, because I took so much shit, Leon didn't have enough resources to survive.

Soon enough, the 'Game Over' screen popped on the screen, making me hit the machine in anger.

After that, I went up to Gabriela and Adalyn, who were still playing, and told them I would go back home or something.

I didn't lie to them, I did go home and was about to lie down on the sofa until the phone started ringing.

I picked up the phone and brought it to the sofa with me. The cord was rather long, and you could bring it to the nearest bathroom of the house.

"[L/N] household, who is this?"

"Since when are you so outdated?"

It was Boston. We would call from time to time, but not very often since I was almost never home.

"Well look who it is. What's up? Did something happen?"

He sighed over the phone, telling me that something did in fact happen, but that he won't tell me.

"I guess I was just bored, wanna go out or something? Maybe go shopping?"

I thought about it for a second, then agreed. I didn't always go out shopping since I would normally spend my money on movie renting or game buying, but it was something me and Boston did at times to relax.

We agreed on meeting on the Grab-N-Go, and then we would head to the nearest mall, it being Cherry Creek, which was renovated a long time ago, in the '50's.

"Are you feeling alright?" I asked Boston as I saw him head towards me, in the candy section of the Grab-N-Go.

"Yeah, my parents just got into an argument because my dad forgot to pay the water bill."

I hissed, "Shit, I'm sorry. If you want, you can spend some time in my place."

He shook his head and told me that it was fine, his dad will pay today and they'll eventually get back the water.

I felt terrible for him, he always had something bad happening to him and his family.

I grabbed a few water bottles and paid for them, handing them to Boston, "Keep them, and don't stay dehydrated."

He shoved everything we got in his backpack, which he had decided to bring in case we actually decided to buy some clothes.

We headed out the doors, and without glancing at a certain someone who was clearly pissed, we rode our bicycles towards the old mall.

Once we got there, we went from store to store, buying some jeans, shirts and jewelry.

I bought flared jeans, a tight black long sleeve shirt and a classic jacket you would see a 'bully' wear in movies.

Boston bought straight jeans that fitted slightly baggy on his skinny self, a black hoodie.

He would wear stuff like that, not too fashionable but still better looking than a few other boys who decided to wear their pajamas to school.

We went to many stores, some including a wedding store, which made me stop in my tracks and make him wear a wedding dress.

We got a few blank stares, a few in shock and others were in disgust, but we didn't care one bit, we were having fun and forgetting everything bad that had happened that day.

Me, Gabby, Boston and Kaylee were the ones that would normally go out shopping.

Gaby was always busy with the yearbook, making me wonder if I would also be that busy once I get inside.

Ren didn't go out as much, mostly because her family is moving away, so we wouldn't see her as much as we did now.

And Aryanah...

Aryanah and I have been having some troubles in our friendship, Boston and Kaylee witnessing it.

I told Gabby about it, mostly since we had switched from having Gym to other classes.

She has Family CSI, me and the others, but Gaby, had Keycode.

I still didn't know what Gaby had, but I believe it was Business Class.

Aryanah was dating this guy, something along the lines of Jackson, and she told us a few days back that this guy liked her.

I told her otherwise. The guy goes to our school, but he went to class during the night, only showing up after morning classes for basketball and football practice.

He doesn't even know her, that was what I told her, but she insisted that her boyfriend was right, specially since they knew each other.

A friend of mine liked the same guy we were talking about, but I didn't bring her up, mostly because I'm sure she wouldn't enjoy the idea.

Aryanah was a pretty wild card, and in the group, she was clearly the least liked.

"Are you joining the yearbook next year?" Asked Boston, in hope that he wouldn't be alone with our art teacher.

"Yeah, but good luck if I don't, then may the gods bless and watch upon you, cause the teacher is gonna be all up your arse." I joked and laughed with him, even though we both knew I was being truthful on my words.

"I'll miss both Gabbies." He confessed and I agreed with him.

12th grade did things differently to 11th and 10th, and they would be far more busy than they already are.

"Thank God for already having an idea of what I'll do with my future." I whispered.

He laughed, "Party all night?"

I scoffed, "You know I hate parties!"

He laughed for a while then stopped to catch a breath.

"I should go," He stated, "don't get yourself killed."

I waved bye to him as I watched his figure ride away on his bike and grabbed my own, heading my way home.

Ocean Blue Eyes

I was pushed fiercely against the wall of the back of the school, making me slam my head against the cold bricks.

I groaned in pain and displeasure, "You arsehole, you have no idea how expensive hospital bills are."

I looked up at the guy standing in front of me, letting him see the bloody mouth I had gotten from how many times he had punched my cheeks.

"Give it up faggot! You ain't winning for fucking god's sake." He yelled at my face, grabbing the roots of my hair and pulling me up in the air.

"Let go of me!" I screamed. I was pretty weakened up from him hitting me nonstop.

I felt like I was about to pass out.

I looked directly at his beautiful, blue ocean eyes. Oh how much beauty one can hold, but it was only a matter of time where that beauty would come out from the shadows to the light, showing that ugly look deep inside itself.

"You got what you wanted! Now let me go!" I yelled, grabbing the hand that was pulling at my hair, trying to twist it to stop my pain.

He groaned at this but didn't let go just yet.

"Listen here, you little bitch—" But I cut him off.

I had kicked him in the face, and once he let go of me I started punching him in the stomach.

I ignored how my body felt, begging me to rest for a while, and threw him against the wall, much like he had done to me.

"I have no idea what you want, but trust me, you won't get it!" I told him as I continued to punch his stomach, knocking the air out of him and leaving a bloody trail out of his mouth.

He had gotten an internal bleeding, much like me.

After letting him go, thinking that he would finally give in, I came to my shock.

Vance Hopper really wasn't one to give up after all.

I let out a yell in pain after getting punched across the face, making me lose my balance.

He took that to his advantage and slammed my head against the concrete floor.

"Whatever the fuck I want, is whatever the fuck I get!" He yelled in my ear, slamming my head repeatedly against the school's floor.

I was almost sure that I would get a concussion after this, but I ended up with a bloody, fucked up face, and an even more fucked up forehead.

Everything started spinning once I gained consciousness of the situation once again and I could only hear a buzz like sound.

Last thing I remember seeing was Vance's lips moving, telling me something I couldn't hear due to the annoying sound of ringing inside my ears.

I didn't pass out, but I could move my body with the amount of pain given to me. I spent hours there, it wasn't until what seemed like 4 hours of laying on the dirty floor that I was finally able to move my muscles.

Every time I took a breath, I could feel nothing but pain, and I was getting worried that I had broken a rib.

I would have to check with a doctor if things got worse.

I had never broken any bones, much now I had a broken nose, a most likely cracked skull from all the head slamming onto the floor and the walls, and probably a broken rib, which was the one that worried me the worst, knowing that it was dangerous to have a broken rib, especially if it was near your heart.

You wouldn't want to get stabbed in the heart by the bone that is meant to protect it after all.

After I was able to move, I headed home through the safest alley, making sure no one was following, for it could bring trouble knowing how weak I was at the moment.

After that day, I made sure to make the maid call a doctor, letting the doctor tell me that I only had a broken nose, but that my skull could've been cracked if I wasn't too careful.

And that broken rib, it wasn't really broken, but I was pretty hurt near the area of it, making the doctor feel disappointed in me for letting someone get the best of me.

It's not like I could do much about it, I was basically jumped by him. The fight took place at a random moment, taking me aback onto why Vance wanted to fight me.

From what I heard from Ren, no one really knew, not even his own little gang.

I always had my suspicions that Vance was bipolar, but I always shrugged that off just thinking it was just his anger issues.

'I'm probably just over thinking it.'

I sighed and got up from my bed, heading down to the kitchen to pick up some food but noticed how there wasn't much to pick from.

I sighed once again and decided to go to the Grab-N-Go, since I couldn't carry much weight with my weakened body.

As I got there, I asked for the phone from the cashier, who gave me a dirty look and simply nodded.

"Adalyn?"

"Hey bad bitch." She told me over the line.

"Meet me at my house to watch a movie with Gabriela?" I asked, hoping that she would say yes and I wouldn't have to spend the day alone.

She laughed lightly, "You got it, we didn't even want to go to school anyways. We'll see you in fifteen."

I hunted up the phone and got us all snacks along with some drinks.

The cashier bagged up the supplies and went back to reading a comic, which seemed to be Batman: The Caped Crusader, Volume 1, which was when Batman first appeared.

It was an old comic but a good one.

I grabbed my stuff and started heading to the exit, excited that I wouldn't have to be alone today.

I was about to leave but was soon grabbed by the neck of my collar.

I looked behind me to meet once again with those beautiful blue eyes that brought peace to me.

"What the fuck do you want now?" I asked, clearly pissed off.

He did say anything, simply staring at me with his eyebrows furrowed and deep in thought before shaking his heading, shrugging what he did off and going back to his pinball game machine.

I found it odd, but then again, everyone and everything could be odd in one's eyes.

I went outside, taking a deep breath and heading home.

[Y/N] Was Here

"So.... You're telling me I shouldn't have sprayed my name on the walls?" Asked Aryanah, confused about why I told her not to pray 'Aryanah was here' on the walls of an abandoned hospital.

We all facepalmed, "Because, you idiot, now the police know who to look for when they find the graffiti." I told her.

Gaby sighed, knowing she shouldn't have gotten involved with this. Boston and Ren tried not to laugh while everyone else just tried not to slap her across the head and maybe fix her stupidity.

"It's no wonder you have a low score on the tests we take." Kaylee chuckled, looking around to avoid Aryanah's glare.

"That is besides," I sighed, "what time is it? I think we lost track of time here."

"Dead." Gabby checked her phone.

"Same here." Said very much everyone else.

"Great, so we're all dead on battery, have no idea what time it is and pretty much lost since we simply stumbled on this hospital in the middle of NOWHERE?!" I screamed, walking in circles as I wished for my death to come by, knocking to be let inside.

"Great. Just great," Whispered Gaby, "I simply knew I should've stayed home and watched a movie with my sister."

'Well, kindly, fuck you too I guess?' I thought to myself, giving her a side eye which didn't go unnoticed by her.

"Let's just go out and walk around, maybe we'll find houses and call for help." Suggested Boston, shrugging in frustration.

I sighed and let my fingers through my hair, trying to calm myself down.

"I wish I would've stayed back and played Resident Evil at the arcade." I whispered to Ren.

"Cheer up [Y/N], once we are out of here you'll be able to see your blondie again." She laughed, even after I punched her shoulder lightly, holding it to show that she was joking around with me once again.

Me and her knew each other the longest. There would be times when we were kids that we would fight, all because of another friend we had.

I didn't really like that girl who I was friends with, but I never mentioned anything to her because we had a few classes together.

"Alright, ready to hop on the wall now?" Asked Boston, looking at Gaby.

"Arsehole." She chuckled.

I laughed along with her, much like everyone else.

"My mum will so kill me." Said Gabby after looking up to the now dark, cloudy sky.

It was getting dark by the moment, and even though my parents went out again for another business trip, I got worried.

Maybe I'll drop by the Grab-N-Go if it's open.

"You guys wanna stay over?" I asked, hoping not to spend another night alone at home.

"I'm in!" Shouted Ren, Kaylee and Aryanah, all in sync.

Gaby and Gabby looked at each other, nodding and looked back at Boston.

He sighed and gave us a thumbs up.

After a few hours of walking and finally making it back to the small town we all let a moan in relief.

"You know," started Gaby, "we should've taken our bikes at the very least."

'Talk about having three of the smartest kids in school.'

"Just how the hell do I have the highest grade in 10th grade?!" I slapped myself.

"'cause you don't share our last braincell with us." Said Boston sassily and pointing to Ren, Aryanah and Kaylee.

I let out a 'Duh!' and continued walking from with both Gabies to my side.

"Sooo." It was Gaby, looking at me with a side eye.

"Huh?"

"You and Vance?" Gabby joined in.

"No! For the last time, we ain't together! For gods sake, if that was to happen it would be the day that Zeus doesn't fuck  another breathing human being."

We all came to a sudden stop, making everyone else behind us bump into our backs.

"Talk about the devil and it shall show up." Murmured Kaylee under her breath.

"Looks like we've caught ourselves a few little faggots roaming the street."

Vance and his group were walking towards us, looking our direction.

Kim Seoun. He was an Asian-American who had moved to Denver from Korea about 3 years ago. He was a very problematic guy, dating a few girls at once, getting into fights and overall just very dangerous.

He had once almost stabbed a guy on the stomach if it wasn't for Gabby going up to him, pushing him off the defenseless guy.

He didn't tolerate that, and promised to get back to her, but he really never did.

Vance had his arm crossed, walking tall and almost proud of his little gang. He looked the same as always, wearing just different types of jeans, this one's flared and a light blue that suited his

"Just what do you want now?" Asked Gaby, puffing out her chest to make herself look stronger.

It clearly didn't work, because they didn't back up.

Vance opened his mouth, letting out, "[Y/N]."

"Vance." I murmured under my breath.

We hadn't seen each other for quite a while, but noticed only a slight of changes in him.

He was getting taller as time went by, signifying his age, getting older and older by the day.

Everything stayed the same. Same old jean jacket, blonde curly hair and pale blue eyes.

"Tell your fucking friend to move out of my goddamn way." He said, getting madder by the second.

I stayed quiet, not answering and simply ignoring him.

The minutes passed and they started getting desperate, a girl, Sammy Wilson, let out a gunt and grabbed on the neck of my collar.

"Didn't you hear him? He told you to move." She glared at me, burning holes into my skull.

"I'm not deaf, but I will be if you keep rambling your big mouth and shouting on my ears."

She lost her temper and punched me with her right hand, making her knuckles sink onto the skin of my cheek.

"[Y/N]!" Gabby let out, worried about me.

I wasn't phased, showing no new emotion to her. I already knew this girl quite well. She was that girl who I got in a fight with the first day I got to school, the same one who was bothering an innocent guy.

"Still bullying the innocent?" I questioned.

She let out a 'tch,' and went back to her place after noticing she wouldn't get anything out of me.

I started walking towards the group and passing through them, bumping shoulders with Vance along the way.

My group did the same, quickly following after me like nothing had happened.

"Oh, and before I leave," I turned to Vance and his friends, "You can hurt me if you want, but dare touch one of my group and I promise I'll make you live the hell on earth." I threatened them.

I didn't care if they hurt me, but the others were a different story. They meant the world to me.

I quickly walked back to my group, letting my arm rest on the shoulders of Boston.

"You good? They quite literally punched you." He asked.

"Yep! Now let's go, I wanna watch The Exorcist again." I whined and they laughed, making fun of how much I loved thrillers.

"Ew, you guys know I'm obsessed with Edgar Allan Poe. They should totally make a movie!" I screamed in excitement.

They sighed and continued walking to my home, ignoring me as I talked about how much I basically worshipped Poe.

How It Started

People always said that if you were part of the high class, that you should consider lucky. I did consider mere luck, but there always is a catch.

My family always loved to travel, and I couldn't deny it, because I did so too. But the studies stopped me completely from traveling.

I was always busy doing school work, homework, and finding time for clubs.

My parents would always travel and leave me behind, sometimes with a short amount of supplies.

We did have a maid, but she was only ever there when my parents were there. When they were out, she was out.

I started out by taking my anger out on kids who always pissed me off, much like Vance, but then I realized that it was starting to become a problem, so I did the next best thing I could do.

Take out my anger on kids that think it's funny to beat the weak ones.

I always stuck with the kids that people would call 'freaks.'

It wasn't because I pitied them, but more because they are actually very interesting, some more than others, some better than others.

I didn't befriend every single one of them, for I knew some of them deserved it.

But I did my best to make them feel no less human. Sure, I didn't know what it felt like for people to see you as a freak, but I knew what it felt like not being good enough, whether it was to others or yourself.

I would always go to bed just to stay up thinking about my future. I cared a lot about my grades and reputation, but I knew getting into trouble would cause it to fall. Maybe that's what my parents were thinking when they decided to move.

They cared about their reputation. Not mine, but theirs.

I didn't know anyone in the new town for about a week, but everyone knew me on the first day.

I saw a girl bullying a small, defenseless guy.

I couldn't take it, so I stepped in. I always loved the idea of girls supporting girls, or guys supporting each other.

But I knew when this 'supporting' had to come to a stop.

The girl, who I later found out was named Eliza, was sent to the ER with a broken leg and bloody nose.

The week went by, and no one dared approach me, that was until I bumped into a tall, pale, short haired girl. She apologized, but later asked me if she knew me from somewhere.

She was the first girl to speak to me, so I didn't mention anything about the fights I had gotten in during my time here.

We quickly became friends, and presented me to a short, Hispanic girl, Gaby.

I later met the others in our friend group due to classes we had together.

I was happy and glad, but they later found out how troublesome I was and confronted me. I explained everything to them, from beginning to end, and I was shocked when they understood.

Gabby and I became best friends quickly, always together whenever we could, never leaving each other's side.

Then Vance came into the picture.

At first we didn't like each other at all and had to serve detention together all the time due to how many fights we got with each other.

I wasn't completely scared of him, I was simply scared of what he was capable of doing.

He didn't hesitate to carve his own name on his victim's body, how would he hesitate to kill?

He was pretty unpredictable, and I tried to predict his next move. But I couldn't, it wasn't near my ability to.

The first time that we got in a fight was when he had lost a round of pinball and tried to blame it on me.

I was in a bad mood already, and the not-so-innocent blaming quickly escalated to a heated fist fight.

I remember it so vividly, to how we had to be separated by his friends to how perplexed he was when he realized I could fight just as well as him.

With a turn of time, we both came to realize how alright we were with each other back in September of 1977, two years back from now.

He was tormenting a kid once again, but I felt off so I quickly called out for him, in which he wasn't so happy about, but I told him it was important.

It really wasn't, I just came up with the excuse of needing help carrying really heavy equipment from volleyball.

I actually needed help with it, for I couldn't carry all of it by myself, and hardly could he, but we both managed.

He went home later than usual, especially since I insisted on walking him home due to how late it was.

I remember how his nose scrunched up when he told me "Get fucking lost, will you?"

He refused to escort him home, but I eventually followed him and told him I wouldn't go home without making sure he was safe first.

Everything just felt off, and if there was one thing that I knew I had to listen to, it was my gut.

Once he got inside his house I looked around me, and there I saw the same ban I'm now so afraid of.

Later throughout time, I was taken from the people I knew.

I knew it was work of The Grabber, but it was due to how this man dressed that I couldn't point fingers to the man driving the ban.

I had gotten into a fight, and was severely hurt, so I had passed out due to bleeding out.

He must've found me and quickly took me, locking me in his basement.

Everything was a blur, all I remember was him wearing some kind of mask, a phone and managing to escape.

I always carried a bobby pin with me, so I had managed to unlock the door and let myself out.

He was probably drunk from hours prior, so I found him unconscious due to the alcohol inside his system.

I realized then that the door was locked, so I went up the stairs, inside a room and out a window.

Only an idiot would keep a window open when having someone abducted.

I didn't tell anyone about it, it was the 70's, there was no way people would believe it.

A girl, getting kidnapped by the infamous Grabber, someone who until recently has just kidnapped little boys.

I remember getting questioned by Boston where I was, but I simply shrugged it off by saying I was staying with my aunt.

My family didn't notice, they weren't even in the state. They were away in Italy for a business trip.

The only thing that I can remember clearly was seeing someone grab me from under my arms, dragging me home and asking a few questions. Questions I sadly couldn't respond to due to the shock.

I couldn't see a face, but I was thankful to that person, if only they knew what kind of hell I went through with the disgusting human being of The Grabber.

One Inside The Other

I woke up, shaking and breathing heavily, looking around my surroundings.

But it creeped me out.

I wasn't anywhere near a place I was familiar with. I was laying in a bed of red spider lilies, out in an open field, trees of different colors, some where green, some where yellow with red. But there was one lily that stood out to me in the distance.

I walked and walked, even if there seemed to be no end to it.

I was in front of a white spider Lily, but once I looked up from it, I was in a different environment.

This place was dark, the shadow eating out the small light from a window.

I was now in a dark gray room, there was no furniture and the room was very small.

A bar-covered window was placed on top of one of the walls, to the right of small stairs, leading to a door which seemed to be locked.

It was silent, so silent that you could hear the breaths I took. It was quiet until I heard the ringing of a phone.

I looked around, but there was no phone nearby, then I took a few steps closer to the door.

As I got closer to it, the ringing got louder, and without stopping a moment to think, I opened the door with a harsh pull.

It was even darker than the room before, and I needed a moment for my eyes to adjust to the light, if you could even call it that.

There was a single bright red corded retro phone laying on top of a table, a lightbulb on the roof, lighten up to make the phone stand out to the eye.

I stepped closer and closer, the ring-ringing of the phone getting louder and louder.

It was so loud, it made my ears want to scream.

I covered my ears to make the sound stop lightly as I got closer to it, but grabbed the phone at once.

"Hello?" I asked, shaken up but I didn't know why.

I didn't hear anything, nothing but heavy breathing.

I was creeped out, but I didn't say anything as I saw a movement in the background.

I didn't want to know what it was, but I knew I had nowhere to go, so I had nothing to lose.

I grabbed the phone and started walking towards where the movement happened.

It was a door.

The door was bright red, much like the phone in my hands, it all seemed cliche to me, everything was red as far as I've seen.

"Don't" I finally heard from the other line.

"Don't? Don't what?" I finally let it out after a few seconds.

They said something, but I couldn't understand a thing they said, almost like they spoke in riddles.

"Don't... The... Or.... Will... For... And... You..."

"What?..." I asked, confused about what I was being told.

None of these made sense.

As I put my hand to the door handle, I woke up. I was shaken up, breathing heavily and sweating bullets.

I grabbed my throat, trying to stop the heavy breathing and calm myself.

Seconds passed seconds, minutes passed minutes, and soon it had been a few hours, the grandfather clock soon hit 1:47 PM, and I knew it would be best to skip the rest of the day from school, especially since they got out at 3 PM.

I changed quickly into light, ripped blue flared jeans, a white, tucked in shirt and a black and white letter patched jacket.

I quickly put on some white, dirty converse, grabbed the keys and went out the door, locking it behind me as I walked down the street.

I walked to the Grab-N-Go store, quickly looking from outside the glass window to try and find Vance.

He wasn't there, so I quickly head to the park nearby. The park was only a few blocks away, so it wasn't much of a walk.

But even if it was a short walk, I felt tense, almost as if I was being watched. I looked around for anything, but the street was alone.

There had to be a catch.

I quickly ran to the park, trying to look for Vance. Still nothing.

It seemed as if I was paying attention to my surroundings, 'cause as a matter of fact, I had not seen anyone throughout the whole day.

"Am I still dreaming or something?" I murmured.

I ran as fast as I could to a clock store, trying to see the time. But luck is never on my side, is it?

All the clocks were off, so I decided to go back to my house.

Running as fast as I could, not caring if I was getting short on my breaths and my legs were giving out on me.

I halted once I opened the door, and thought to myself, 'Shit.'

The door I had just walked in from, was a bright, red door.

"Could I curse myself even more than I already have?" I whispered under my breath.

I was panting from the running I had done, but soon found myself unable to breath at all.

I was now laying on the floor, but it wasn't my floor, it was the floor of a red room.

The only difference with this one was that this room was a dark, blood red.

I had some black figure on top of me, gripping my neck hard enough for me to feel the long, sharp nails sinking on my skin, close to my veins.

I tried kicking it, but my leg went through the shadow figure.

'How the fuck is it touching me but I can't touch it?' I thought, still struggling against the man's hands on my neck.

'I do not want to know what happens after you die in a dream, not now.'

I tried grabbing its hands, but to no veil. I tried head butting, no response. I tried moving myself to maybe, just maybe, get my body to pass through his.

I looked around me, trying to find something to help when I started hearing the sound of a clock.

Tick, tock. Tick, tock.

It got loud and loud by the second, and I let it sink in, not caring anymore about the shadow.

I focused on the sound of the ticking, not noticing how slowly I was able to breath once again.

This time, I woke up, just not in my room. No.

I was laying on the bathroom floor, the room being nothing but a big mess.

I was shaken up by everything. First some weird room, then when I thought I woke up I was simply stuck in another dream.

Stuck in another dream.

'Shit, that's it!'

I quickly headed to my room, grabbing a pocket  knife from my night stand and poked a small hole on the tip of my finger. It was bleeding for a little till it stopped.

I placed it back where it belongs and sighed in relief.

Remember the saying that if you pinched yourself and if it didn't hurt, you were dreaming?

I guess you could say the same thing for getting yourself to bleed.

I relaxed for a moment until I realized the huge mess in my bathroom.

"[Y/N], WE'RE HOME!"

It Might Be Him

There were more than four-thousand kids in this school, about a thousand for each grade.

A little less than half of those kids were surrounding us. Some kids, who were smart, watched from the stairs reeling, shouting like wild dogs for who they thought would win.

He yelled something that I couldn't catch on due to how loud the people were around us.

"Sorry!" I yelled back, "Doc said I shouldn't listen to bullshit!"

Everyone 'ooh'ed and laughed at the guy, whose name I knew was Eren, and the only reason he found out he was fighting was thanks to Gabby being the one who knew about him.

He got into a fighting position, which looked funny to me, and tried throwing a punch.

Luckily, I had a fast reflex and ducked under his fist, grabbing his arm and pulling it behind my head.

We are face to face now, and taking that to my advantage I kicked the front of his knee, making him fall, but before his face hit mine I moved out of the way, making him fall face first into the ground.

I grabbed his arms and put them behind his back, restraining him from punching or moving due to pressure I'm placing on his back.

"I would give up if I were you." I whispered in his ear.

"Like I would do such thing." He said harshly, struggling to get out of my grip. That was my cue to raise his right arm with the elbow facing me.

Crack!

Everyone was in sock, and the guy was screaming in pain after a few seconds.

His arm was bent, it would not fold frontwards but backwards.

"I warned you, you didn't listen." I told him as I walked away, people making way for me to walk through.

After that was over with, I made sure to head straight for the Grab-N-Go, where I knew Vance would be at.

I walked through the front doors, with the sound of a bell warning my entrance.

"So?" Asked the blondie, not looking away from his game.

"He won't touch anyone for a few weeks if not months." I told him.

He looked up at me this time, not caring about his score and him losing. He was in shock, but it wasn't very visible, only reason it was given away was due to his eyebrows rising up slightly then going back to their original place.

"What did you do?" He asked, rather curious.

"Arm's bend." I said simply, with a plain voice.

He chuckled, but his face showed no new emotion. "Who would've thought, since when do you know how to bend arms?"

"You're underestimating me, I know many things that would fall under the medical field. Some things don't fall under it, but fall under murder 'field.'"

"Surprise me." He ordered.

"If you inject digoxin into someone who doesn't have heart failure then they will die and it will look like they had blood pressure, and if it's injected under the tongue then the pinch mark is most likely to not be found." I reassure.

He was shocked at this, but knew it was true due to how I said it. I didn't stutter once, I didn't eat my words, and didn't trip over them.

It was a rather interesting topic to look into, I didn't use that knowledge on anyone or anything, but it could come in handy.

"Fair enough. I trust that you won't say a word about this?" He glared at me.

I chuckled lightly, "Of course."

It was a shocker he even talked to me, so I better keep my mouth shut to not get on his nerves like I did back in middle school.

His temper was a ticking bomb after all, the only exception was that you knew when a bomb would explode thanks to its timer, with Vance though, it was different, you never knew what he would do.

There was no capable way of reading him.

I turned to leave the store, before I saw it once again.

The black-fucking-ban.

"Oh my, do I have a secret admirer or something?" I whispered to myself.

There was no way I would go out through the front door where they could see me, so I went back to Vance, who was playing Pinball, and sat down next to the machine, waiting for the ban to notice my absence and leave.

I was lucky that the man didn't notice me walking away from the door, for he was probably searching for something on the passenger's seat.

"Asshole's following you again?" Asked the curly haired guy.

I sighed and nodded my head, yes.

I was not playing this man's little hide-&-seek game, I ain't patient enough to hide nor patient enough to seek.

My temper was running short with the top hatted man appearing everywhere I went.

I found it extremely weird how every time he appeared I was always near Vance. It was almost as if he wasn't just targeting me, but Vance too.

"Does he follow you anywhere?" I asked quietly, only for him to hear.

"Not really, it's always when you are around." He confessed. "Vance..." I started and he hummed.

"He only ever appears when you are around..."

He stopped playing, not caring when the machine made a small noise to announce how the game was finished.

His face was stiff, in a position where you could tell.

He was getting pissed, and a pissed Vance was not a pretty Vance.

"That son of a bitch..." He whispered, trying to remain cool.

"You don't think... He's going for both of us, right?" I started fidgeting with my nails. This whole thing was crazy.

Then I thought about the odds. What if he really was the one who kidnapped the other kids?

It wasn't impossible, he seemed cliche already.

"I'm not sure." He confessed, and for the first time, he actually looked down to the floor.

He too was thinking the same thing, I knew it by his face.

This top-hat man might be The Grabber, and was awaiting his next victims.

He was waiting for the next kids he will take from their home.

Those kids might be one of us, and we didn't know who. This man had no reason to do what he did, he merely did it for the sake of his own pleasure and entertainment. We didn't know a thing about him, and he didn't know a thing about us.

And for the first time in a while, I actually got scared. I got scared for myself.

For Vance.

Sharing Classes

It was currently second hour, which was advanced orchestra for me along with a few of my friend, just not from my friend group.

I was the closest with the first four chairs.

4th chair, Derek.

3rd chair, Elizabeth.

2nd chair, Vanessa.

Me being first chair, which was a complete surprise since me and Vanessa were neck to neck with being the best.

Me and her asked the teacher why I was first chair, her telling us that I was a quicker learned compared to Vanessa.

I was proud of it, but even so I did believed that Vanessa would've been a great first chair too.

We were currently having practice time, since we begged our teacher to let us have it for weeks.

Everyone was doing their own thing, practicing some songs in their music books while me and Vanne decided to practice our own songs from what we knew already.

"So, which one are we doing?" Asked the short girl.

"I don't really know, maybe El Cascabel?" I recommend.

"I ain't singing." She looked me dead in the eye.

I sighed, she was a great singer but it wasn't always that she sang mariachi songs, she ordered playing them.

"Alright, alright. Pull up the music, I'll just rosin my bow really quick."

As she was getting our music out, I noticed a few people over hearing our conversation, interested in what we would do.

We started playing, the music was fast and if we messed up it would go to waste trying to play.

We played our violins for a few minutes, fast enough to catch the ear of people, making them turn their heads towards us and staring.

"Me pidio que le cantara." I held the word

Just as we both finished singing, we were gasping for our breaths we didn't know we were holding.

"Amazing..." Someone whispered.

They started clapping, making me and Vanessa look at each other rather creeped off.

The song was fairly long, it was mostly playing more than singing, but it hurts to press down your fingers against the cold hard strings while trying to sing right at the same time.

We didn't sing and play at the same time, we simply switched playing turns once the other was singing.

As everyone finished to pack up their instruments, violins and violas taking the longest since they actually had to put their instruments in cases, much unlike base and cello, the bell rang, confirming that we were now allowed to leave to third hour.

"[Y/N]! You did so amazing there!" Said Jada, a celloist in my class.

"Really? It's weird not playing with more than two people." I admitted.

"Yeah! Why didn't you think of joining mariachi?" She asked me, confused.

"I am in mariachi," I confessed, "I just go to this class for school hours, but we have mariachi rehearsals in the afternoons."

She was shocked, but it was washed away the moment we reached her classroom as I dropped her off and went to my respective classroom.

For third hour I had science with the cheerleading coach.

As I went to my arranged seat, I noticed that Vance was finally back to school after being gone for almost a week now.

Class went by normally until I felt a kick at the keg of my chair, right away I knew who the criminal was.

Vance was the only one who would have enough guts to do such things.

I ignored it at first, until it became very constant and it finally managed to get into my nerves, making me glare back at Vance, who was sitting behind me at the end of the row.

He looked up at me and gave a smirk that told me right away he won't stop.

And for my luck, he sat around me in every class we had together, which was all my schedule but second hour, which I thanked the gods above for, since orchestra class was my favorite class.

The day was nothing but irritating with Vance kicking my chair and at times making me fall due to him hitting it too hard or moving it out of my way the moment before I tried sitting on my chair.

"When will this madness stop?" I whispered to myself, but it was loud enough for Vance to hear.

We were currently sitting in fifth hour, Accelerated English, and the hour before lunch.

Vance grabbed a fist full of my hair, yanking it slightly to make my head look up to the teacher who was busy talking about the book we were currently reading, The Tell Tale Heart by Edgar Allan Poe, to even notice.

'Shit.' I thought to myself.

"You should really pay attention, you know. You wouldn't want to fail this class, right?" He whispered in my ear.

This bipolar bitch seriously had some issues. One day he is being all kind hearted and even got me out of danger and the next he is a little bitch who had a stick up his arse.

"You should really let go of me before I scream." I whispered back to him, making him grip tighter on my hair as he looked unfaced.

"Let go of me." I whispered harshly.

"There's this idiot who can't handle himself and goes after little girls. I want you to beat him up for me, I'm too busy and I won't fight someone weird like that."

I was shaken up by that, "And what's in it for me?"

He turned to look at me, "He was planning on trying to touch you, so take it as a favor."

He let go of my hair as class was being dismissed for lunch.

I met with Gabby outside the orchestra room, and told her the situation. She agreed on telling everyone that the fight was happening behind the school, after classes were over.

Everyone heard about it, even some teacher who clearly didn't care enough to do anything, either way, if they interfere with the fight, they knew they would get hurt.

From what Vance told me, the guy I was fighting was called Eren, he was blonde with a buzz cut, light, blue eyes, and pale skin.

He was fairly tall, around 5'7, making me look up to him, due to my height being 5'1.

I was fine with being 5'1, since I had the upper hand against tall people.

You could crawl under their legs and twist them while they were confused.

So no, here we were, face to face against each other, and by the looks of his face expression, he was clearly pissed.

A Black Ban?

"You hear that?" Gabby asked me, to which I nodded.

"How fucking loud can someone be?" I asked her in return. The sound came from behind the Grab-N-Go, it was probably a couple.

They were obviously having hard sex.

"Ugh, that's disgusting." Whispered Gabby, looking down to the floor with red cheeks.

I rolled my eyes. "Whatever, let's go, I hate hearing them."

"Wanna check out where he was last seen?" Asked Gabby and I nodded my head yes, getting out my radio to inform the other till something caught my eye.

"Hey, tell me I ain't going crazy." I whispered.

There was a black ban passing by the Grab-N-Go, with the logo of a spade and words under it saying 'Abracadabra Entertainment & Supplies'

By the looks of it, a man with a top hat was driving the ban.

His face was pale, but it obviously was make-up since it wasn't a natural pale.

"Yeah, you ain't. All about him and the ban screams red flags." She whispered back.

I grabbed my Walkie-talkie from my front pocket, and leaned on the wall to the right of the Pinball Machine, watching as Hopper played.

"Hey, y'all copy?" I asked.

"Yeah." it was Aryanah.

"You bet." Ren answered.

"There's this ban," I told, "it's all black and has a stamp on it, like if it was a circus of sort."

It was quiet at first, only sound I was able to hear was the point scoring Vance did every other second.

"Alright, we'll be careful." Said Gaby.

"We'll keep y'all updated on his location, since he's currently at the Grab-N-Go with us." I whispered.

It went silent for a few minutes till I grabbed my Walkie-talkie again, watching the pale man closely.

"Gaby, come pick up Gabby for me."

"What?!" Gabby asked, stunned at how I wanted to be left by myself with a suspicious old man waiting for one of us to leave so he could hunt us down.

"Pick her up through the back." I ordered through the radio, getting a simple 'alright' back.

"[Y/N], you are basically asking to be killed!" She whisper-yell at me.

"I need you to be safe, it's been barely an hour and this guy already showed up." I whispered back.

I didn't want her to end up missing, no way I was risking it.

"What about you?" She asked softly after calming down her nerves.

I thought about it, but it was simple quick thinking. There was not much to it, I could either stay here with Vance or stalk the guy enough to find at least something about him.

"I'll be fine." I told her as I got the sign from Ren through the radio that they were here.

"Go through the back, and make sure you don't get seen on your way out." I told her, hugging her tight before she left.

"Good luck." I whispered to no one.

I went and leaned on the wall next to Vance, watching him play and keeping an eye out for the ban.

"You looking for 'Mr. Oh-So-Popular'?" Vance asked me.

"You are one to talk, Hopper, everyone knows you, making you just as popular, if not more than him." I told him, still staring at the machine.

He don't look away from the arcade game he was so obsessed about.

"Everyone knows me because they know not to mess with me. They know him because he's nothing but a pretty face."

I didn't say anything. There wasn't much I could say to him about that, he was right after all.

I did talk to Yamada, but it wasn't an everyday thing, we only talked when it came to orchestra class, him being a first chair cello while I was a first chair violin.

He was very talented, I give him that, but even for that, everyone who went to our concerts was there to see his 'beauty.'

I shrugged at Vance, humming along.

"That ban won't be going anywhere any time soon unless you leave, you know." He told.

I shrugged, "Then I guess I should stay here."

"They will close the store in about 10 minutes from now, no way you aren't getting out alive."

I was thinking about it earlier, I knew I told Gabby I would come up with a plan, but in truth to be told, I couldn't. It was nothing but a suicide mission.

The odds of being kidnapped were very high, even if I was with her. I didn't want her to get hurt, so I had to lead her out of the store safely without her being seen.

I didn't realize I was in such deep thoughts, not until the cashier called out to us, telling us to leave for closure, "Then I guess I will be the next one." I whispered to myself, but Vance was able to catch.

Hopper grabbed my arm, leading me out of the back door, "Come on, I'll drop you off."

"What's this? Some romance movie of sorts? I can defend myself, and you know that." I told him, not wanting to get him caught up in my trouble.

"Be grateful, you fucker, I'm saving your ass from getting killed." He said harshly.

I only looked at him, staring at the back of his head due to him walking in front of me.

I looked back a few times, making sure that the ban wasn't following us. We only saw it once, but with the rush running through my system I told Vance to go through a small alley where he won't be able to drive through, making him have to drive around it, taking about a minute or two due to its curves.

In the mean time when it was making its way towards us slowly, we ran as fast as we could to make him lose our trail. We ran through a few alleys, making sure that they were shortcuts to my house.

Once we reached it, he let go of my arm, making the warm leave to try and warm up the cold around the air.

"Thank you, Hopper." I said, bowing down slightly in gratitude. If it wasn't for him, then I might've gone missing, not to be seen ever again.

"Vance." He said, with a surprisingly calm expression resting on his face.

I looked at him in confusion, letting out a small 'huh?'

"Just call me Vance, I despise it when you call me Hopper." He admitted.

After the shock passed, I nodded to him quickly, making sure he knew that I heard him correctly.

"Thank you once again, I owe you one, and a big one." I said.

"It's alright, now go and make sure you don't die, 'cause I won't be there to save your sorry ass." He ordered.

I chuckled slightly but then looked up at him with a serious face, "What about you? Will you be alright?"

He looked taken aback with my worrying about him, but he nodded quickly after that, "I live just right around the corner, so I will be fine."

I hummed and walked up to the footsteps of my door, "Be safe, Vance, 'cause I promise I'll drag you out of hell if you die." We both chuckled lightly.

Once we bid our goodbyes I made sure to watch him walk away from my house safely through my bedroom window.

I really wouldn't forgive myself if he was to be kidnapped thanks to me and my slow thinking.

Missing Children

You knew better than to let people get to you, but for some reason, every time that someone brought up something about you, it just touched a nerve.

"You think you are any better than me, huh?! You are nothing but a fucking useless faggot!" Says a guy, standing in front of you, while in a fighting position.

Most kids were rooting for you, but you knew there were a few kids rooting for the guy, for you hear a small chant saying "Gavin! Gavin!"

"Place your bets people!" You hear a kid, maybe a Junior, say.

His left hand had much more money than the right one, so you guessed he separated his hands onto you and this other kid, Gavin.

He punched your jaw, and you snapped your neck, making eye contact with him before grabbing his shirt, kneeling him in the forehead.

Once he was down to the floor due to the pain, you made sure to stomp on his cock, creating more pain to the guy with a now bloody forehead.

You made eye contact with a few kids, and the Junior guy who had the money in his hand handed you about 100 dollars, keeping about 20 for himself.

You stuffed your pockets with the money and headed to your locker room, where you would meet the rest of your group.

You entered the locker room, only to be met with worried glances.

"[Y/N], have you heard anything from Bruce yet?" Asked Ren. Bruce has been missing now for 3 days. No one heard from him after his game against Finney.

"Well, have any of you had any dreams with him in it yet?" Asked Boston, standing outside the door of the locker room.

The locker rooms for guys were separated from the locker room of the girls, but no one said anything when Boston came along, since everyone knew he was gay, even the teachers.

All of you shook your heads no. It was just you and Gabby who believed dreams are visions, but even little things like dreams could be taken into account when someone is missing.

You and Gabby glanced at each other, and back to the floor your eyes went.

"God, if you guys are so worried, why not go out and look for him tonight?" Kaylee suggested, even though you knew she was only joking.

You actually took it into account and agreed to it. They made groups of 2 so none of them got kidnapped.

Boston wasn't going, "I'm going to visit my grandma tonight." Was what he said.

After he left to change into his GYM clothes, you girl started talking about the situation.

"Isn't his grandma dead?" Ren whispered, only you being able to catch it.

"Are we sure it was the Grabber who took him? How do we know it was him and not a copycat?" Asked Aryanah.

"You sure are dumb, black balloons were found in the area at the time of kidnap." You said, smacking the back of her neck.

"Ouch, well, anyone could get their hands on simple balloons." She said.

"And get away with kidnapping? No way." Kaylee said, shaking her head.

"No one would get their hands on black balloons, even if it was for a birthday. They would be counted as suspects, so it's only smart if the Grabber knew how to make balloons or already had some." Gaby commented.

You all agreed with her, it was only smart to not buy balloons when everyone who went missing was found near balloons.

"Y'all think it's a clown?" Gabby asked.

"More than he is already? I doubt it, maybe someone who holds shows of some sort." You said, making everyone laugh.

"Yeah, just what kind of clown film that kidnaps kids and leaves balloons behind is this?" Ren looked at all of you.

"Whatever, we'll look for him tonight, don't go too far from the area, if anything, I'll bring some Walkie-talkies with me to make sure everyone is safe." You told everyone as they agreed with you.

"If anything happens, scream, run, get somewhere safe, hide, and don't die." Gabby continued.

"You make it sound easy." Ren chuckled.

As you guys got out of the locker room, you made eye contact with Hopper. He was in his normal everyday clothes, sleeveless jean jacket, white shirt and jeans.

Not everyone had gym clothes, but preferred staying in their normal clothes.

You and Gaby had gym clothes, but only used them on special occasions.

"Since it's Friday, you guys can have an open GYM. Make sure not to destroy it though." Said the coach.

"He's just a lazy ass." Whispered Kaylee.

"Better for us. Get the volleyball, we'll talk about the plans." You ordered Aryanah.

You made arrangements for that night. You would meet at your home, there everyone would get a walkie-talkie, then you would go out with partners on your bikes.

If anything were to happen, you guys would meet at the Grab-N-Go, where you knew you would be safe since Vance Hopper was always there.

"Me and Gabby will stick around the Grab-N-Go in case anything happens." You told everyone.

"Or maybe you just wanna see Hopper." Gabby whispered to you with a smirk.

"Tch, whatever."

And so, you would meet at your house to look for a missing kid.

Stranger Passing In The Street

Red.

You were seeing red everywhere. The floor, the bathroom curtains, the mirror, even your face was dripping with red velvet blood.

You had no idea how it happened. You weren't injured, but you had a pain in the back of your neck, almost as if telling you that you ain't dreaming.

But in the blink of an eye, everything was gone. The blood that was once scattered all over your [S/C] was gone.

You didn't know what happened in those seconds but decided to blame it in your imagination, not wanting to think that you needed to go talk to a therapist or anything about what just happened.

You sat by the window of your room, leaving it open to get some fresh air, and started playing Echoes, by Pink Floyd.

The song was a favorite of your parents, and you, being you, loved the song as well due to how similar you were to your parents. As a matter of fact, it was them who taught you so many things.

You looked out the window, and what you saw made you stop thinking.

Neither of you said anything at all, you simply closed your window and decided to head out the main door.

Once you were out of the house, you saw that Hopper was no longer there.

"Weird. He better not have gotten kidnapped in such a short amount of time" You joked around.

You decided to head to the Grab-N-Go before heading out to see Gabby to play at the arcade.

Once you entered, you saw that Hopper was already playing his little game.

'Just grab your shit and go, stop staring.' You thought to yourself.

"Hey, you got a phone here?" You asked the cashier.

"Yeah, but you will have to pay to use it." Fucker.

You pulled out a dollar bill, telling him to keep the change and called Gabby right away before he could have a chat with you.

"This is Gabby speaking." You heard her say at the end of the line.

"Gabby, you ready yet? I'm impatient." You scolded her.

You believed she snapped her fingers by the sound of it, "Oh yeah! Heading out right now, where are you?"

"Grab-N-Go."

"For what? To see Hopper?" You felt her smirk through the phone.

"Ew, no way!" You were cut short by the cashier.

"Hey, hurry up, I don't wanna hear you ramble." He said rudely.

"Shut it, I don't think you remember but I'm basically your pay, so you either shut your trap up before I sew it shut." You pointed your finger at him while still on call.

"Cashier?" Asked Gabby, to which you responded with a hum.

"Well, I'm heading out of the house right now, I'll see you at the Grab-N-Go." She said.

You gave the phone to the cashier and gave him a bad look, almost as if a warning to not say anything.

You turned around, and met with the eyes of the one and only, Vance, fucking, Hopper.

"Watching me again like the creep you are?" You questioned.

He shrugged, "No idea what you are talking about, [L/N]."

"Don't give me that do goody good bull shit, you were watching me at my own home."

"Not really, more like listening, since your dumbass decided to play guitar next to an open window for the world to hear how bad you play."

"Bad?!" You basically yelled, "I don't think you remember, but I played for almost 25 minutes! And guess who stayed behind to listen."

You made eye contact with him, "You."

"I simply wanted to see how bad you are at the guitar."

You clicked your tongue.

"Please, I bet I'm better at guitar than you, thank you very much."

"Whatever makes you sleep at night." He laughed lightly.

"Oh, I sleep very well at night, it's you who should be worried about not sleeping."

"[Y/N]! Let's go, I'm bored to hear y'all fight like an old married couple!" Said Gabby, standing in front of the door

You rolled her eyes at her and held eye contact with Hopper once more before leaving for the arcade.

Finn's Arm Is Mint

"Are you going?" Asked Aryanah, which for your info, was your average Caucasian girl.

"Be more specific, where exactly are we going?" I asked.

"The baseball game, of course!" She smiled at me, almost as if to convince me to go with her.

I groaned, "Are you guys going?" I asked both Gabby's.

"We will if you are going, and you?" Gabby looked at Boston.

We had our small friend group from Gym, but Boston was the only one I had two classes with, Gym and Orchestra. That was if Ren wasn't being counted, who was a black girl about my height, a very funny person as well.

"Yeah, who do you take me for? A pimp who stays home and watches his parents cry about 'little' money?" He said.

Out of everyone in the group, it was him who had the least amount of money, preventing him from hanging out much with us unless we paid for him.

Boston, like Aryanah, Kaylee and Gabby, was white, but he wasn't straight, nor was it near it either.

Not like anyone in our friend group was it. Well, we can't really say much about Gaby, we didn't really know whether or not she was bisexual or not.

"Guys! Guess who has enough money for a movie tonight?" Kaylee, one of our friends, came up behind us.

"Great, so I buy us snacks for the game and you guys invite the movie?" I ask, everyone nodding towards me.

Everyone but Ren

"You guys do know we could just sneak in through the back, right?" She told us.

"I mean, yeah, but if we get caught, you pay our fee." I told her, without looking at her.

"Sure."

"But before anything, let's go to the locker room. I left my stuff there." I told them, to which everyone agreed.

As we were walking, we bumped into Vance and his little friend group.

"Watch it faggots." Said one of them, the shorter one.

"Just who the fuck are you calling a faggot? Last time I checked you and Moose got some sexual tension between you."  Gabby went off on him.

He looked ashamed at that. It was a total lie, but someone spread a rumour about 2 years ago about him and Moose when they were seen talking behind the middle school they went to, and since it was a small town, the word spreader quite fast.

"Oh yeah? You gotta get it now—" I cut him off, "If you boys would excuse us, we need to go to the locker rooms to get our stuff, and unless you guys would like to carry those heavy bags then you better get out of my sight." I told them, to which they quickly rushed out of our way knowing how heavy our bags were.

Both groups departed without looking at each other, other than me and Vance, we both looked back to each other's groups, which made us make eye contact.

We held it for a while till he went along with his friend group, yelling at them for leaving him.

"They're so weird, I swear." Boston said.

I gave him a side eye, walking alongside Gabby at the front.

"You know, you two seem to get along the most." She whispers to me, trying to not have anyone else hearing.

"Shut up, if we we're to get along then maybe he would leave me the fuck alone." I whisper yell.

She rolled her eyes and continued walking.

Once we got our stuff we decided to buy snacks for the game and headed to the baseball stadium, which was filled with people, both students and parents.

Gabby and I sat next to each other as always, cheering on the boys as they played out in the field.

In the end, it was our school's team that lost. It wasn't much of a big deal since we knew they wouldn't win.

It was mostly 9th graders against mostly 10th graders.

Both schools did things differetly. Both schools didn't have the 9th graders and 10th graders separated for the sports teams, they were both added together due to this being a small town.

As we were walking out of the stadium, I saw two of the players talking, one which I knew of, Finney Blake, thanks to being bullied by a few kids. The other one, Bruce Yamada, due to being one of the popular guys.

I only ever talked to Bruce once or twice, not really interested, Finney, on the other hand, I talked to a few more times.

"You're Finney Blake Right? Your arm is mint!" Bruce said to Finn.

I ignored whatever else they said, since it was none of my business.

"So, whose turn is it to pick?" Asked Gaby.

"Mine," I said and everyone looked at each other, "get ready to watch Silence Of The Lambs."

Now everyone looked at each other scared to the bone, all but Gabby, who looked unfaced.

It was a disturbing film that we both watched late at night when I managed to get my hands onto a cassette.

I invited everyone to a few snacks, since I was about to disturb them all, and we decided to sneak into the drive-in.

Once we were there, they went to buy the snacks with my money and me and Gabby decided to walk around, trying to find the perfect spot to watch without having to deal with the couples having sex inside the cars.

Gabby and him went off on each other while I simply stared at Vance, who started back.
