We here at the Gately Paranormal Research Centre are dedicated to investigating the mystery behind the Gates of Whimsy and how they connect to the Spirit World and the Temporal plane.
Gates of Whimsy are doors only visible to Seers (people born with the ability to cross into the Temporal Plane harmlessly and see spirits) that allow access to the Temporal Plane, a plane of existence in between life and death where many spirits congregate either due to an inability to pass on completely or for more malicious reasons.
Seers, along with anyone other than spirits, cannot access the Spirit World, as one has to have died and passed on in order to enter. The Spirit World is divided into two areas: Paradise and the Inferno. Any spirit can be granted access into Paradise, unless they have caused enough torment and grief during their living years to meet the conditions to be cast into the Inferno, where eternal imprisonment awaits them.
More powerful spirits in the Inferno have begun to find cracks of its foundation and escape back into the Temporal Plane in order to cause havoc among uncrossed spirits and humans alike. This phenomena has mostly gone unnoticed by non-Seers, and is typically disregarded as misfortune when anything bad happens, thankfully.
My field researcher is currently investigating the previously mentioned topics and gathering the necessary data for my research. We currently are available to communicate with 5 spirits (one of which is assisting my field researcher) which has helped my research thoroughly.
