This October, take part in the Ghost Hunter Experience with a member of Virginia Paranormal Investigations. This is more than a tour. You will learn about methods and equipment used by paranormal investigators in the field. You will also get hands on experience with equipment as you venture along the haunted streets with VAPI and search for evidence from beyond. This event is limited to only 10 guests. Haunted Crawford Road Bridge in Yorktown, Virginia. Known by some as Crybaby Bridge, it’s an urban legend involving the ghost of a lonely bride. Our tours do not go along this road, but if you decide to venture out there, use caution. Motorists often speed along the road and bodies have been found along it. It is illegal to walk on the overpass as it is federal property. Be safe!
Decoration Day - Memorial Day originated as Decoration Day shortly after the Civil War. People would visit the graves of fallen soldiers to place flowers. One story from Mississippi tells of three women who went out to decorate the Confederate graves. Along the way, they noticed the graves of Union soldiers, neglected because they were the enemy of the South. Saddened by this, they stopped to clear the headstones and leave flowers. There are still debates over where the first Memorial Day took place. Here are some vintage cards and photos from Decoration Day.
