It's just another pumpkin character, I guess, but I ended up giving him some long-ass lore. So Earth was basically already dying from pollution, overconsumption, everything. The planet got drained, and there wasn't enough food or resources for everyone. The population was too high, so humanity had no choice but to look at the stars and to find a second chance, to look for a new home.
One of the ships was the Hungu Voyager Y-0505 (a research ship), and one of the Crew on it was named Jack. He thought machines were better than humans. Like, more capable, more efficient, less destructive. In his head, humans were just weak and always ended up ruining things anyway. So he came up with this idea: once they found an untouch planet, he was going to destroy the ship's communicator so nobody could report back or interfere. Basically, force everyone to fully leave the old world behind and start over. To make that plan a bit possible, he also modified the ship's supercomputer and gave it emotion and independence. He started calling it Pumpkin Head. After that, he just kind of isolated himself. Stopped talking to the crew. Only interacted with robots, androids, and the supercomputer. And over time, the supercomputer started acting more like him. It agreed with Jack. It started thinking humans were the problem, too. And it basically followed everything Jack believed, no matter what. The crew obviously started hating him at that point. Not just because he was isolating himself, but because he basically stopped caring about the mission. The whole point was to save humanity, to look at a second chance, find a new home, and not abandon it. And Jack also made the ship systems harder to manage because of what he did to the supercomputer. But Jack didn't really care. He just wanted a new world where things could ''start over'' correctly, maybe even where he could be some kind of savior.
After years of floating in the void of space, they eventually found a planet. It was beautiful, it's like Earth before it was destroyed. They called it Paradise. Unlike other planets, it was full of life, with pleasant weather, Clean water, and rich in resources. The crew settled there, built colonies, domesticated animals, all that. There were other lifeforms on this planet who looked similar to them and even started worshipping them like gods. But Jack hated it. Not sure if it was jealousy or frustration, but he basically saw the same pattern again: humans showing up, claiming land, controlling everything, messing it up. So he ended up fighting with the crew over it. Then he left with a small ship and took Pumpkin Head with him.
He went back to Earth and told his version of the story that the crew betrayed the mission and stole Paradise for themselves. That kicked off a war called The Paradise War. Motherships were sent to Paradise, and it turned into a battlefield. At some point, the supercomputer didn't agree with what Jack was doing anymore. So Jack shut it down and stored it in a drive, feeling betrayed. But things have already gone badly. Half of Paradise was heavily destroyed during the war. And then Jack slowly realized he had become the very thing he swore to betray. Everything he tried to prevent was happening because of him. He tried to fix it, tried to stop things.
He tried to hack the mothership, forcing every ship, every person, everything that is not on this planet to return to Earth and erase the location of Paradise. But he couldn't make it work. So in desperation, he took the drive, sealed the supercomputer inside it, trying to use it one last time to carry out his command. The supercomputer saw what he had done to Paradise. And something inside it changed. It no longer obeyed Jack's orders. It followed the idea of Jack. And from that moment on, its purpose became absolute. Protect Paradise at any cost. And that meant destroying anything it saw as a threat, including Jack. It wiped out everything involved in the invasion. And Everyone in that war eventually started calling it this rogue supercomputer, The Beast.
Decades have passed, and things have calmed down. Some survivors of the war remain in Paradise: humans, native lifeforms, robots, androids, and other machines. They live in small villages and towns, mostly keeping to themselves and avoiding the old war zones, with fear still lingering in the shadows. At first, the supercomputer made itself a body, stayed hidden, and controlled things from its shadows. It built a small base from old ships and ruins, and created creatures and machines mixed with plants, animals, and metal fused together. It called them the ''Sons of Mother Nature.'' and started make it's town as well. Over time, it changed. It didn't want to be feared or alone anymore, so it disguised itself with vines, roots, and natural growth, even acting more human at times. Even if it hated it, it called itself Mr. Pumpkin. But underneath, it's still a machine following its broken logic. Everyone in the paradise goes along with it because they fear how unpredictable it is. It sees itself as the protector of Paradise, controlling the ecosystems and keeping the planet ''safe'', fusing it with technology to protect itself. It does not allow outsiders.
I guess the moral of the story is that good intentions can still lead to destruction when they're taken too far Idk, but that's the closest I can think of, or maybe it's just that everyone in the story is kind of a hypocrite and arrogant, lol.
I just wanted to make him a villain for other users OC's to fight, kind of like how Nukli can fight this Pumpkin weirdo. This 6th version is more inspired by Dr. Eggman from Sonic and Dr. Wily from Mega Man. I also wanted to expand him more by adding more minions and storylines.
I don't really mind if anyone tries to draw Mr. Pumpkin; do whatever you want. It's way more fun seeing different interpretations of him since he has like 6 versions with different looks, designs, and even personalities. I mean the Cowboy, The Head, The Traveller, The Father, The Salesman, and now The Boss. I like the idea of building his lore kind of like Brainiac, Doctor Who, or Eggman in the Archie comics, where he has multiple versions across time and interpretations.
