NATHAN DRAKE & SAM DRAKE in UNCHARTED 4: A Thief’s End
So... What do you say, Nathan Drake? Sure, why not?
UNCHARTED 4: A THIEF'S END (2016)
as thrilling as the next adventure might be, in the end you're always left with that same feeling. sometimes you just gotta choose what you're gonna keep and what you're gonna let go.
NATHAN DRAKE | UNCHARTED 4: A THIEF'S END
"We don’t get to choose how we start in this life. Real ‘greatness’ is what you do with the hand you’re dealt."

10 years ago today, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End was released! (May 10th 2016)
I couldn't not draw them 🙈
this is my favorite uncharted scene across all 4 games. elena and nate love each other so much but treasure hunting is in nate’s blood and his obsession almost ruined their marriage. elena watches nate talk in awe about how these pirates’ obsession cost them everything, including their lives. and she has love in her eyes as she’s reminded of just how passionate he is, but also sadness because of how much it keeps hurting them
this scene is particularly important to their healing as a couple because Elena's watching him gush about these pirates with a new context: she's just learned that Nate got his love of history from his mum, and that this specific goose chase is the closest connection he has left to her.
prior to this, she would have been completely in the right to think this was just another classic Nathan Drake Goose Chase that his dipshit brother dragged him into after they'd spent so much effort trying to live legitimately.
in this scene i think Elena understands Nate more completely than she ever has before, and her empathy here, on top of the very difficult conversations they had earlier, shows so much strength in her character and her faith in her relationship.
game sells poorly -> layoffs
game sells well -> also layoffs
the only thing the video game industry hates more than piracy is making video games
