Headcanons: How they are/feel with you / vice versa
Somewhat of a follow-up to this piece, just some headcanons for now because I can't think of any other things atm-
(Almost) Any ideas are quite welcome!
He'd... be incredibly baffled with you as a whole. Humans were one thing to deal with, but animals?? He wouldn't know what to do or HOW to even cater to you. But he'd try his very best! He'd try to talk with you, only to be met with either barking or a dumb stare straight through him. Sometimes, if he's pointing his cane at you, you'd take it and run, prompting him to chase you about until he finally snaps his fingers to someone to hold you in place. On his adventures, you'd either veer off the path, sniff and bark at NPCs or on the off chance attempt to mark certain things, much to his horror. Sometimes, he'd have to make you stay behind on some adventures if he felt you wouldn't cooperate. He'd have to seek out help from his participants, since it's them who know what you are and how to handle you. After a while he grows used to you, even learning a few words to make you listen. The positives were you were quite easy to please, but to his delight. Though, he'd wish you could actually talk and give your thoughts rather than try to bite at him...
🐶 You find him to be odd and maybe a tad overwhelming, but at the same, he's quite fun to be around, and you'd especially like the game of tag he'd initiate when he offered his stick to you. And his daily "walkies" to new places were always a good time, especially the ones with outside landscapes. The only thing you didn't like was when he'd snap his fingers and you'd warp to someone and get held down, and the fact he was almost always out of reach. Overtime, you grew to see him as a funny, if a little evasive and invasive playmate.
Despite her initial disturbance at your fate in the circus, she was actually the one to grow the closest to you, as she was smitten with your sweet, playful nature. She was the one who gave you your new Circus name, as well as have you re-learn a few tricks in the downtime they had while Caine worked on updates to adapt to your needs. Though she tried to train you to sleep in your own room [when Caine figured out how to construct your room], she relented and let you sleep at the foot of her bed for a few nights, subconsciously feeling a bit more grounded with your presence. She was the one who gave Caine intell on how to deal with your kind, including a treat system, brushing and basic training to get your obedience realigned. On adventures, while you did veer away a lot, you listened to her calls for you and even learned certain commands to make the adventure go by smoother. Post-adventure, she'd let you lie your head in her lap, giving you scritches. You were her little piece of the outside world, unperturbed by your fate. While her heart broke at the fact you didn't truly understand your situation, she was also grateful at your bubbly nature that never failed to make her feel a bit better.
🐶 you loved her the most out of everyone. She was not only more familiar in appearance, but she was the nicest of everyone. You were almost immediately attached once she gave you your "new" name, and even more so with her cooing praises and scritches. It got to the point where you'd often stray out of your room and scratch at her door until she let you in. She was firm, but not unkind with her demands, and even helped you remember a few commands from your other owner, such as sit, shake and to roll over. On the "walkies" you'd go on, you'd help her find certain items or clues to advance further and help her and her pack advance forward and get rewarded with either a bone or other kind of treat. Her presence was what soothed you amongst the admittedly overly colorful environment and odd humanoids, reminding you of the kind humans before this.
She'd be quite conflicted, to say the least. On one hand, the energy you brought and the endless loving you had for just about everyone was refreshing, and even somewhat comforting, but on the other, it made her sad that such a sweethearted pet had been trapped in this digital madhouse. She'd be skittish around you, given that high-energy wasn't exactly her Forte, but during the rare bouts of downtime, she'd watch you and cheer for you as you did tricks, even rubbing your belly and scritching your ears from time to time. During adventures, she'd trust Ragatha to keep an eye on you, but if you'd veer off, she would somewhat follow you to ensure you didn't get too far, and praise you if you found something that would be useful to the mission's objective. Sometimes, she'd notice you try to defend her from some of the more abrasive NPC that might appear, which never failed to charm her. Sometimes, she'd have you sleep at the foot of her bed on especially rough nights, with your warmth and presence grounding her. You'd overall take the edge off, and take her mind of her own situation for a bit.
🐶 you enjoyed her company quite a bit, even if she was a bit skittish. She gave good scritches and she'd always praise you when you did good. She'd even keep an eye on you during the "walkies" and give you more praise when you'd find a clue to solve a certain isissue. Though, for some odd reason, she had a sharp scent of fear almost always, however faint it may be. Especially during the "walks" they'd go on. You made it a point to keep her safe as much as possible, to the point where you'd even sleep in her room at the foot of her bed. She was overall very pleasant to be around and a trustworthy humanoid.
He wasn't too thrilled to say the least. Your constant barking and inability to comprehend most words made things more annoying than they should be now. Especially when you'd growl at him when he picked at others. And if he tried to shoo you away, you'd nip and bite his ankles until he'd let up and back off. Considering you were a literal animal, he couldn't really get back at you, or mess with you in general, but it wouldn't stop him from muttering things about you under his breath or at Ragatha. Overtime, he learned to get used to your antics, sometimes using commands like "Fetch" to steal random items from the others to mess with them. During adventures, he'd sometimes sic you on NPCs to liven things up, praising you if you got a "souvenir" from them. At times, he'd have you in his room at night to vent to you, seeing how you were an animal and couldn't tell anyone. Despite being annoying in a few aspects, you're the only one he can let himself get a bit close to. After all, it's not like you have the capacity to abstract...
🐶- You saw Jax as part of your new "pack," but he seemed to be a bit of a troublemaker at times, given that he'd often cause distress to the porcelain-ribbon and mess with the other members on certain occasions. But you put up with him because, something told you that he wasn't exactly like this on a whim. Even if he swatted at you, he'd never try to actually hurt you. And on adventures he'd give you praise for when you fetched certain items. It was also fun to do a bit of mischief with him in general, which involved play wrestling with any NPCs he'd point you to. Your favorite parts where when he'd suddenly snag you at night and talk with you. You didn't understand most of his words, but the air always felt heavy during these times. You'd rest your head in your lap and let him pet you until he'd place you back in your room. Overall, you knew he just needed a true friend.
She wouldn't exactly know how to feel; as cute and sweet as you were, the fact an entire animal was now stuck in the digital realm was truly something that was heartbreaking to her. However, your boundless affection was her safe haven in this chaotic existence, she'd have you sit in her "lap" and let you lick her mask and pet you, while occasionally playing fetch with you. She'd especially appreciate how you'd try to defend her from Jax and "return" her comedy mask to her should it be snagged or broken. During adventures, she'd make sure to stay close, as well as relying on you the most, seeing how animals were always the most observant. And of course, she'd draw you on occasion and let you sniff at them when she showed you. She'd have you spend some nights in her room if she felt especially stressed, as your warming weight grounded her and your contagious joy let her forget her troubles, if just for a little while.
🐶 you didn't fully understand what she was, but she nevertheless seemed like a kind individual. She also seemed to be the most delicate, with how sad she seemed, especially when her "happy face" got broken at a near daily basis. This made you especially protective of her, much to the rabbit's annoyance, but you were often praised for your efforts and granted playtime with her. Sometimes, she'd let you spend nights in her room to snuggle, and despite being made of ribbons, she offered wonderful scritches and pets.
They wouldn't be okay at all. It's one thing for a human to be trapped in this digital hell, but now there's an animal involved?? Part of them wondered what kind of owner would even let this happen. They'd be quite distant with you initially, feeling inwardly distraught at your lack of understanding of your situation. They weren't much for high energy, as they'd gently shooing you when you tried to get them to play, but they would give you a head pat or two if you opted to lay down beside them. They hardly went on adventures, so the times Caine had you stay behind (likely due to some mishap you caused last adventure), They'd be tasked with watching you. These times, they'd let themselves indulge a bit, rubbing your belly or letting you play with the toys Caine would conjure to keep you occupied. Sometimes, they'd talk out loud, lamenting your fate here and make empty promises of escape with you, and giving your owner a piece of their mind, which you wouldn't understand. But there was no denying that even if you were blissfully ignorant, your boundless joy was somewhat refreshing in the otherwise tense existence within the circus. Besides, it finally gave them a good excuse to stay back and admittedly, they found it amusing when you messed with Caine.
🐶 You wanted to be their friend, but you felt that there was a wall they put up for some reason. While they were nice enough to offer you the occasional head pats, they didn't really play often. At most, they'd usually offer belly rubs and head pats whenever you were unable to go on a "walk" with the others. During these times, however, they'd talk out loud about something you didn't quite comprehend, but you noticed the melancholy tone to it. Overall, you just wanted to know what made them so somber and how you could fix it so you could be a better friend to them.
He would forget you were an actual animal on multiple occasions, only to be reminded of the fact when you'd either bark or be out right told you were a dog. Your barks would often scare him if they were abrupt, and he'd be fascinated at the fact there was an entire animal in the digital circus and keep a close eye on you, observing your behavior. Sometimes he'd let you into his pillow fort, where he'd be able to truly contemplate your fate here. He'd be saddened, knowing such a sweet animal was essentially lost in the world with him, but he vowed to make the most of it for you. He'd speak with you about random topics while stroking your back and head, sometimes bringing up Queenie and how she would have loved you. He'd also frequently wonder what dog breed you were, in hopes to get one if he ever found an escape from the place.
🐶 he'd be erratic a lot, but you still grew fond of him, given he treated you just as well as the doll did. It took you a while to get used to his floating hands, as you kept nipping at them, thinking they were toys, but once you realized those were his actual hands, you did your best to minimize your biting. It was when he was in the dark that he became more mellowed, as he'd speak to you in a more leveled manner about things you'd never really get, but the word "Queenie" kept coming up. You wondered who that could he and why you haven't met her yet.
He had no understanding of you at all. He didn't know what to make of you, but it always amused him when you'd jack up an adventure or cause mayhem for Caine. The only thing he didn't like was you constantly trying to bite him. Sometimes he'd play tug o war with you or bark at you until Caine popped him. And this behavior would follow him around, much to Caine's dismay. He thought you made things interesting.
🐶 you didn't know how to feel about the translucent ball with teeth; he was fun to play with, but he gave you a sense of unease. You'd growl and back up if he got too close too quickly and if you both got into a barking match, Caine would have to pop him. You wondered if he squeaked if you caught him.
And scene! (Sorry, I didn't know what emoji fit Zooble x_x)
Hopefully this is as accurate as it could yet and lil bonus; what are your depictions of animal reader?
