“And that, is the story of my favorite steak.” Yoongi finished his ramble, lifting his glass in the air in some form of a cheers before drowning it in one go. Pressing your lips together into a straight line you tried your best not to laugh. You felt Jungkook’s hand on your knee, giving it a gentle squeeze as he sat beside you. They all knew how Yoongi could get after he’d had a few drinks too many. The guys had invited you along for a group dinner, knowing that Jungkook would love for you to come. The two of you hadn’t been able to see each other often these past few weeks, both busy doing your own things. It had been a wonderful thought to spend the evening with your boyfriend and his friends before getting back towards your real life. Jungkook had been clinging onto you since you’d entered the dorm earlier tonight and refused to keep his hand further than a certain distance from your body at all time. “Wonderful, I really liked that part of the cutting. Didn’t you, Jimin?” Hoseok asked, and the younger boy nodded but dared not to say anything, a snort threatening to escape him. Yoongi turned towards him, placed a hand on his shoulder and gazed deeply into his eyes as he said, “That’s where the masterpiece is created.”
At once the entire table lost its cool and laughter bursted from every single one of you. In an instant you were the loudest table in the entire restaurant as you all tried to compose yourself. You had never seen anyone create such a hypnotic and dedicated story about a piece of meat. Jungkook’s head fell back beside you, a loud and high pitched laugh escaping him before he stared around with twinkling eyes. You loved seeing him this happy and carefree. Moments like these, you wished you could take pictures from and save them somewhere, so you could watch them over and over again. As if feeling your gaze on him, he turned his head to look at you and nudged you with his shoulder while giving you a smile. “So, you two decided whether you’re going on that holiday or not?” Seokjin asked, watching the two of you interact as he was the one who had ended up siting in front of you. He’d complained like a little child at the start of dinner, complaining that he would have to watch the two of you flirting with each other all night. Attention got diverted from the steak and you felt all eyes point at you as you leaned your elbow on the table and rested your chin in the palm of your hand. “Not yet, we’re not sure…” You muttered, glancing sideways at your boyfriend.
“So, have you heard from him?” Sarah asked once more, as if she hadn’t asked that question a thousand times during the past couple of weeks. You rolled your eyes at one of your most cherished band members and even though you loved her, you wished she’d just leave. You’d banned the topic Kim Seokjin in your dorm for as long as you possibly could. But there was a time a person simply could no longer run from their problems. It seemed like you’d reached that point about a week ago, when your members had been done with your sulking and had told you to call him and talk to him. But that was the thing. No matter how much you it hurt you to talk about what had happened and no matter how much it pained you to hear someone say his name, it was nothing compared to the rage you felt.
It was boiling inside of you, day and night and you were afraid that once you’d no longer have anything left to distract you from all of those bottled up feelings, you’d just loose it.There had never been someone who’d been able to make you feel all of these things. One of the most important people in your life had put a knife in your back and you had never felt more betrayed. He was supposed to be the one who supported you whenever, through whatever. And instead, he had only been thinking of himself and his own needs. “How about no.” You muttered, knowing you were being moody towards them for no reason. They couldn’t help the situation you were stuck in right now. None of it was their fault.
Yet, you couldn’t help but feel like you had to be mad at someone, everyone. Perhaps it would be a good idea for you to take it out on something. Take boxing classes perhaps? Maybe they’d allow you to put a picture of Seokjin’s face on your punching bag so you might actually be able to let go of some of your anger. It would feel good to actually be able to put a punch to his face without actually having to deal with the consequences. “Don’t you want to hear from him?” Jaimy asked you from across the room, where she was reading her book on the couch, laying upside down. She was one of those human beings you simply couldn’t seem to understand, no matter how hard you tried.
She was one of the nicest people you knew, but there was something new to learn about her every single day. And hearing her ask you this question, you knew for sure she was rather focused on the novel she was reading than the conversation you were having. “Definitely not.” You said, looking up from the spot behind your laptop to send her a hard stare. As her eyes slowly slipped from the chapter in her book towards yours, she blinked her eyes innocently before going back to her reading. “It might give you some closure, talking to him. Maybe then you can move on, stop being moody.” Kyla muttered softly underneath her breath. Your fingers tingled from the urge to throw something at her while she continued to play her video game like this was some neutral conversation about the weather or your favorite ice cream flavor.
This was your heart they were talking about so carelessly. You had loved that man, for such a long time. You had given him so much of yourself. You had trusted him enough to let him come close to you, to let him know all the small details about you. And still, he’d been able to hurt you the way no one else had been able to do before. You moved back toward your computer, where you’d opened the program which you used for songwriting. You wished there were any more things you could write than lyrics about heartbreak and hating your ex boyfriend, or the way you wanted to slap him with a baseball bat. The last thing you wanted was to have to think of him every single time you had to perform. So these past few days had consisted of you writing them, before saving them in a long forgotten map on your computer where you’d hopefully never have to look at them again.
You told yourself they helped you to progress everything that had happened, but everyone knew that was a round out lie. Why couldn’t your friends just focus on their own problems instead of trying to be your therapist? “We’re just worried about you, you know that right?” Sarah said, looking up from her piano where she had been jamming on some keys, as if she’d heard your thoughts. You demanded your defending posture to back down, trying to convince yourself that was exactly what they were doing. Though, sometimes you couldn’t help but think they were trying to get into the middle of something they just didn’t understand.
You nodded once, then sent her a small smile which probably looked as awkward on your face as it felt. “Oh god.” Kyla said, pausing her playstation so that a big source of sound fell from the room. Frowning, Jaimy pushed herself upright, fidgeting as she tried to steady herself and not drop her book at the same time. The probing on the piano keys faltered as Sarah looked up from her melody to stare out of the window. It had been raining outside since you’d woken up, which was probably the reason why you’d all decided to stay indoors today. A set of headlights flashed throughout the window and you squeezed your eyes as the light shone straight into your eyes as a car parked on your driveway.
You’d recognize that vehicle anywhere. You’d sat in those leather seats so often you’d lost count. The lavender smell still seemed to be lingering inside of your nose. It made all the hairs on your limps rise in discomfort. Out of all the things he’d do, you surely hadn’t expected he would show up at your door. You thought that he’d understand, that after ignoring his texts and phone calls, he would get the fact that you simply didn’t want to see him. But Seokjin had never been one to quit so easily and he wasn’t one to give up on something he wanted. Displease churned inside of you as you realized that all your members would be able to see this entire scene happen.
He’d chosen a hell of a moment to come around for a chat. Listening to the sound of a car door slam shut you stretched out your neck, trying to see beyond the curve of the wall. But you couldn’t manage to spot him before the doorbell rang and he was already standing at the front door. An intense silence fell over the apartment as everybody sat on their spot, frozen. The ticking of the clock in the hall indicated a few seconds had passed before the buzzer went off a second time, and quickly followed by a third. He probably knew you were home and he wasn’t going to give up until someone opened the god damn door. “Well, are you going to open it or are we?” Kyla asked, sending you an uncomfortable look from her spot on the couch. You glared at her while slamming your laptop shut, making sure to make it looked as dramatic as it sounded.
If you’d find out that one of them had something to do with this sudden appearance, then this wasn’t over yet. The sound of your chair scraping across the floor as you stood echoed against the walls and you took your sweet time making your way towards the hallway and to the front door. The thought that he was standing right outside, getting soaked by the pouring rain made you feel a little bit better. Standing on top of your tiptoes you reached to look out through the peephole and to be honest, what you saw made your stomach drop. You’d never expected it to be easy to see him again after what had happened. It was probably one of the reasons why you had avoided sticking anywhere after showcases or watching too much tv these days.
You’d avoided his face on purpose, so you wouldn’t have to deal with all of the negative feelings its sight would have to offer. But now, you couldn’t do anything but stare at him, once again realizing how handsome he was. Once, he’d been yours, before he’d decided to mess it all up. Taking a deep breath that crushed your lungs, you ripped the lock from the door and opened it. His hand had once again been on its way towards the doorbell, but paused halfway as he realized you were standing right in front of him. He was drenched, his clothing sticking to him in a way that would have turned you on not such a long time ago. Now, the only thing you felt when you looked at him was agony. A silence passed between the two of you as you stood on the dry side of the house and the rain continued to tickle on top of his head.
The look inside of his eyes was one you had never seen him wear before. You could sense all the guilt in it, all the pain and the hate he probably felt towards himself. The thing was that you couldn’t bring yourself to care. “What do you want Seokjin?” You asked, surprised that you had it in yourself to sound as cold as you did, while you felt your insides falling apart. A visible shiver traveled through him, and the logical part of you told you that you had to move him out of the rain. If you wouldn’t he’d probably get terribly sick tomorrow. But then you reminded yourself that he had done this to himself, it was his own fault he was standing out there in the cold.
“I just want to talk.” He muttered, his voice straining as he looked at something over your shoulder. You didn’t need to turn around in order to know he was watching your members disappear from the living room, creeping up to their bedrooms. On one side you were glad they were giving you the privacy to handle this without them being all over it. On the other side, you weren’t sure if you’d be able to do this alone. “I thought I’d been clear last time? I don’t want to talk to you, nor do I want to see you. I want you to leave me alone.” You spat, hoping he could feel the heat of the fire inside of your voice. You hoped your words hurt him half as much as his action had hurt you. For a brief second he closed his eyes, as if letting go of something he’d held onto until now.
“Please…” He implored, his voice cracking in the middle of the world. And you realized that perhaps it was his dignity which had just left him, from begging you. God, the strength you held in this situation. It would only take you a second to slam the door in his pathetic face. It would only take you a single breath to tell him ‘no’. But you immediately realized that wasn’t what you needed. Kyla was right, you needed closure. If you ever wanted to move on from what had happened and leave it behind you, you’d have to endure this. It took everything inside of you to put a step aside and let him pass. You could tell he was trying to make eye contact with you as he slipped inside of the house, but you purposely looked down at the trail of drops he was creating on the clean tiles.
You could feel the memories of all the times he’d been in the dorm probing inside of your mind, willing to surface and make this even harder for you. But you pushed them all back, refusing to give into them. You took your sweet time locking the door, checking twice if you’d done it right. And that time you took to pull yourself back together. Taking deep breaths in through your nose and letting them out through your teeth. No matter what he said, you must never forget what he’d done to you. You must never forget that moment you’d found him in your shared bed with a strange woman underneath him, calling out her name. Straightening your shoulders and flipping back your hair, you turned around and walked towards the living room, where he stood at the centre waiting for you. Once he’d been as much at home here as he’d been in his own dorm. Now, he didn’t even seem sure if he was allowed to sit on the couch.
You were sure his wet clothing wasn’t the only thing to blame for that. “Well go ahead, talk.” You said, stilling at a safe distance from him. You didn’t want to smell the soft scent of limes coming from him, or see the reflection of yourself in his sad eyes. You told yourself you had to set boundaries, in order to protect yourself. “I wanted to apologize.” He said, and it seemed that only now that he’d said those words out loud, he realized how they sounded. You squared your shoulders and crossed your arms over your chest as you took him in. You could tell the plan he’d made before coming here was starting to unravel in front of his eyes. This wasn’t some kind of fairytale which ended in happily ever after.
This wasn’t the kind of world where love made you forget all the bad and remember only the good. You wondered if until now he’d even realized how high you’d built your walls ever since everything had happened. He would never be able to break them down again. You’d built them brick by brick, to make sure he would never get back in on the other side. What he’d done, wasn’t something an apology was ever going to be able to fix. “I-I know that’s not what you want to hear. But I’m so, so terribly sorry. I want you to know that I never wanted to hurt you. I never should have done what I did. I will regret it for the rest of my life.” He rattled, wringing his fingers together in front of him. His hair was starting to curl around the ears, in the process of drying up. It was probably the first time you looked him straight in the eye as you answered him.
“Good.” You’d never known you had it in you to hold these kind of grudges, to be this mean. But then again, nobody had ever treated you the way he had. He swallowed harshly, emotion flickering across his face. You took a deep breath, preparing yourself for what you were about to say. “Maybe I’d like to hear your explain yourself one day. Perhaps one day I could handle having a civilized conversation with you again. But not today. Right now, I hope you’ll feel as hopelessly lonely as I did the past couple of days. I hope one day you’ll find out what it’s like to be left in the cold, to have your heart broken into pieces by someone so important to you, you were willing to give them everything. I hope you’ll find out what it feels like to think it’s all your fault, and you’ll have to handle it on your own.” By now a shimmer of tears swam inside of his eyes and it didn’t take long before the first ones rolled down his cheeks. Not so long ago you would have rushed towards him demanding to know who’d made him this upset so you strangle them.
But right now, you were fighting your own battle and there was only one of you who could win. “Right now, I wish you pain.” You croaked, trying to keep your own emotions in check. You weren’t going to cry, not in front of him. It was one thing to tell him how much he’d hurt you, it was another thing entirely to show him. He nodded, brushing off his tears with his already drenched coat. You could tell he understood, and for now you were able to find peace in that. That he knew that he’d been wrong, and that he would carry this mistake with him for a very long time. You hoped he’d be able to use this lesson in the future, even though you’d both had to learn it the hard way.
“And now I want you to leave. If I ever wish for you to contact me again, I’ll let you know. Until then, I hope you could at least respect me enough to give me my space.” You said, trying to make him understand that you did not ever want to see him appear on your doorstep again. He shouldn’t try to talk to you when you ran into each other during broadcasts. That he shouldn’t congratulate you on your birthday or text you to ask how you were doing. That he shouldn’t like your Instagram posts and shouldn’t promote your songs. By the look on his face, you could tell he understood, and you could tell it was breaking him apart. Letting out the air you hadn’t known you were holding you stepped aside, creating room for him to let himself back out. He knew how the lock worked, he’d used it many times before.
“Goodbye Kim Seokjin.” You mumbled, for the last time tasting his name on top of your tongue, the feel op it rolling over your lips. You took him in, remember him like this before burying the thought somewhere in a black box in the back of your mind, locking it and stuffing away the key. His steps trembled as he walked past you, his hand briefly brushing past the sleeve of your sweater as in a final greeting. You felt the love which had once been there glide against your skin, tickle your nerves. But you forced it to trickle onto the floor, together with the trace of water he was leaving behind on the floor on his way out.
Namjoon
“Please, please get into the car. You’ll catch a cold out here.” Namjoon said, sticking his head out of the window from the driver’s seat. With your arms crossed over each other you tried to press your coat closer against your body. Protecting yourself from the wind trying to slice through you. For some reason or another, you seemed to welcome the cold. It was exactly what you needed right now, to sober you up and make sure you didn’t give into whatever your heart was trying to tell you. Tears were still running down your cheeks, but you barely felt them.
Your feelings felt like a hurricane, rushing through you and leaving you breathless. How could he do this to you? After all the time the two of you had spent together. After everything you had shared and the promises you had made to one another. You’d gone through so many hardships together. But in the end, none of it seemed to be enough. Self doubt started creeping in, and your nails pressed half moons inside of the skin of your arms through the fabric of your jacket. No, this was not the time to start blaming yourself. It was something you’d never thought you’d find yourself doing. Thinking someone else’s mistake was your own.
But you couldn’t seem to stop it. Unintentionally, the thoughts started dripping in, and you couldn’t seem to stop them, or ignore them for that part. What if part of this was your fault? Had you started lacking in this relationship? You’d been together for so long, maybe you hadn’t noticed the signs. You’d gained a few pounds while being with Namjoon. You felt comfortable around him, with yourself and your own body. You’d stopped trying to dress up every time you saw him, thinking he accepted you for who you were by now without having to try too hard. After a certain amount of time, you hadn’t bought any sexy lingerie anymore, like that girl in the picture did, because Namjoon knew your body, and you’d expected that to be enough.
“Honey please, at least let me drive you home.” He’d been following you with the car for what felt like hours now. After you’d ran from the house and had stepped into the cold weather, he’d gotten straight into the car and driven up to where you were walking. Cars were honking as they passed by, clearly annoyed by the fact that Namjoon was deliberately holding up traffic. But if he cared about any of that at all, he didn’t show it. A painful giggle squeezed itself out of your lungs. This was the kind of crazy thing that was only supposed to happen in the movies. Straight after, another sob followed, breaking through your body.
You still refused to look at him, keeping a steady pace as you passed several people on the pavement. They were all giving you weird and stunned looks, which you ignored. Was it just the physical part about the relationship though? Or had he simply stopped loving you? Was the feeling you had no longer enough? Your relationship had been stable from the start. There hadn’t been many surprises, many bumps in the road. You’d both always just gone along with it, without complaining much. Was that it? Had he gotten bored? Bored of you, bored of your love? All of this was so funking painful, you couldn’t even believe it was actually happening. You refused to let your mind wonder off to all the things she might have done to please him.
To the ways she’d been able to make him feel better than you had. To the things she’d been able to give him that you apparently hadn’t. You’d never felt so small in your entire life. It was terrible, love being such a beautiful thing, but it was able to shatter you in the matter of a heartbeat. “___________, get in the car, right now.” It was the slight annoyance inside of his voice he usually had whenever you wouldn’t agree with him whenever he was trying to prove his point. It was the edge inside of his words that cause you to turn around to face him. You had no idea what he was seeing inside of your expression when he looked at you. But it seemed to make him flinch and his grip around the steering wheel tightened as he searched for something to say.
“You don’t get to boss me around anymore Kim Namjoon.” You could tell that you using his full name was like a punch in the gut for him, but you didn’t care. Actually, honestly, you quite enjoyed seeing him suffer. Because he couldn’t be hurting half as much as you were throughout all of this. After all, if he was, he never would have done what he did. “Let me take you home __________, let’s talk about this. Please, give me a chance to explain.” He tried, sounding desperate as he stopped the car as you stopped walking. To out standers, you probably looked ridiculous. You looked like a couple being dramatic while having a stupid fight over nothing. If they only knew.
“And then what? Is this the point where you’re going to tell me that you don’t know that woman? Or that nothing happened? That you didn’t fuck her? Or that it didn’t mean anything, and you regretted it from the moment it happened? Or were you going to tell me that you will never do it again? Oh, no wait, you were drunk! Is that it?!” With every word that left your mouth, your voice raised louder and louder. Every emotion was searching for a way out, and it had been a long time since you’d felt this good screaming. Namjoon’s lips parted, as if he wanted to speak up, but you could see it in his eyes, that he had nothing left to say. There was nothing he could say to make up for this. There was nothing he could do to undo what he had done. It was as if he only just now seemed to notice how much damage he’d wreaked.
You ignored the drops of rain which were gradually starting to fall from the sky, landing on top of your head. It seemed as if the weather was feeling sympathetic with you, as if it understood what you were going through, knew what you needed. The sky was crying with you, weeping over everything you’d lost, everything that was no longer to be. In a matter of minutes, your entire life had fallen apart. “I’m not getting in the car with you. I’m not going to let you explain. I don’t want to hear whatever it is you have to say. I’m not coming home with you, not now, not ever. It’s over.” Never in a million years had you expected to say these words to him.
He’d been everything you’d ever wanted, your past, your present and your future. Yet, if that didn’t go both ways, then what had you been doing all along? If all things happened for a reason, then you had a very difficult time seeing one right now. Namjoon looked completely beaten down as the rain tickled down on the windshield, not even reaching out for the wipers. He seemed to be frozen in place, hurt plastered all over his face as he realized he’d lost you, and there was nothing he could do to make it right. You looked at him one last time, and swore there would be a day when you’d look up at his face, and you would no longer feel the agony you felt right now, as you turned around and walked away.
Hoseok
Sweat was dripping down your forehead, your back and in between your breasts. Your breath coming out in little puffs as you let the music flow through you. Your feet moved to the beat without even trying, not missing a single step. By now you’d gone through this choreography so many times, you barely had to think about it. But that wasn’t what you wanted. You didn’t want to think. You wanted to get lost, lost in the moves, in the melody. You didn’t want to give your head the time to register everything it had seen, everything it had learner over the past few hours. After you’d fled from Hoseok, you came straight here, and you’d been here for hours.
You’d watched dancers come and go, and you were the only one staying behind. It was almost four in the morning, and your body started protesting. Fatigue was trying to take over, your arms becoming heavy and your feet getting slowed down. But you refused to give in. You knew what would happen when you got home, to your quiet apartment, which hadn’t felt like home in a long time since you’d practically moved in with Hoseok a few months ago. Going back there, it felt absolutely horrible. You’d always thought you’d sell the place, gather your stuff and live happily ever after with the love of your life. You should have known it sounded too good to be true.
You were afraid that as soon as the quiet would gather around you, you would no longer be able to fight the feelings threatening to drown you. That the images of him snogging that girl would pop back into your mind, and they would never leave again. If you’d decided to go home, you knew you’d never been able to sleep in the first place. The song ended, and you were planning on pressing replay, when all of a sudden, a knock sounded on the door. The studio had been deserted for hours now. Most people came here at a reasonable hour, and not in the middle of the night. Your step faltered halfway towards your phone, and you turned your head towards the door just in time to watch it open.
You threw your head back and let it rest in the back of your neck while staring up at the ceiling as you saw who entered. “Oh fuck me.” You muttered, tugging the band out of your hair, only to gather it back up on the top of your head and turn it into a messy bun. Hoseok stood in the middle of the doorway, clearly looking uncomfortable. At first he couldn’t even look at you as he fiddled with his hands in front of himself, his gaze pointed towards the floor. You wanted to yell at him, and all the frustration you’d been trying to hold off seemed to swirl inside of you just by the sight of him. Yet, after a few seconds, as if he could tell he’d caught your attention, his eyes met yours. Your jaw clenched painfully as you saw the look on his face.
What did he expect? For you to feel sorry for him as you spotted the guilt written all over it? “Get to the point of get out.” You snapped, making your way over to the other side of the room where you’d put your phone on a chair. Scooping it up, you shut down your music app and grabbed the towel lying beside it to wipe away your sweat. The silence inside of the room was deafening after the blasting of the music had stopped. If you hadn’t known any better you might have wondered how he had found you here. But the two of you both knew where you went in order to let off some steam. There was nothing that helped you better to clear your head than dancing. A thing you both had in common. A thing you’d both been passionate about.
“I swear what you saw in there is not what you think.” He started, and you shook your head, throwing the towel into your bag and zipping it up. Were you seriously supposed to stay here while he was going to give you that bullshit? “What do you take me for? Are you really going to treat me like I’m stupid?” You asked, and you could see the alarm bells going off inside of his head as he listened to your snappy response. You wondered how he had expected this conversation to go. If he’d come here with the thought that he still stood a chance of he only apologized.
“Because if not you wouldn’t say such a thing. Are you going to tell me she forced herself on you? That you weren’t enjoying yourself when I walked in? Because it sure as hell didn’t look as if you were going anything against your own will.” It surprised you how sober you felt while talking about this. It was as if you had the lead role in some kind of movie. As if the life you were living right now wasn’t yours. You knew that once everything would sink in, you would probably spend hour on end bawling your eyes out. You would scream, and scold yourself for letting him go. For not forgiving him and taking him back. It was going to take you a very long time to get over this. “I didn’t mean it. If I could undo it, I would right now. I don’t even like her. She’s been after me for weeks…”
You felt like punching him when he said that, and you were very close to growling at him. Everything he said enraged you even more. It was like adding oil to a flame, growing out to become a terrible, uncontainable fire. “Don’t you dare put me up against her! They were your actions! You did this to us! And I will not accept you blaming another woman for your own stupid behavior! You make me sick!” You yelled, and all of a sudden, you knew you could no longer be in the same room as him. He no longer resembled the man you had once fallen in love with. You had never once thought that he’d ever do something like this to you. But neither had you ever expected that he wouldn’t own his own mistakes.
Grabbing hold of your bag, you swung it over your shoulder as you walked towards him, making e beeline for the door. “And if this is what you see as an apology, then you have a lot left to learn.” You were so close to him it would only take a matter of seconds to overcome the distance between the two of you. It would be so much easier for you to forget all of this had happened, and just say that you forgave him, move on. But you would never be able to live with yourself if you did that. Whatever had been between the two of you, it was broken beyond repair, and it could never be mended.
“I never want to see your face again. You disgust me.” His bottom lip actually trembled at your words, and his hand fisted at his side, as if he had to stop himself from reaching out to you, to stop you from leaving. But you could see it in his eyes, that he knew there was nothing left to do. This could have been beautiful, the life you could have had together. It could have been something you’d both dreamed of. But now, it had turned into something that would never be, something you would never know.
Yoongi
Walking into the café, you were immediately hooked on the smell of coffee. It used to give you an adrenaline rush, and the smell always made you happy. These days, there was a negative feeling being thrown into the mix. Somehow you couldn’t help but letting the feelings from last time you’d been here come forward. It had seemed like the easiest thing to do, meeting up again in this spot. Where you’d found out, and where you wanted to see things through until the end. Plus, it somehow didn’t feel right to do this at your place, or at his. Either of you needed to get the chance to get away as soon as they felt like it.
And you didn’t want to have the memories of this conversation lingering in your home after it was over. The fact that you had to have this conversation on its own, was terrible enough as it was. You gave the barista your order, and slid into a booth in the corner of the room after she confirmed she’d bring it to you as soon as it was done. A deep sigh escaped from you as you leaned back against the seat, gazing out of the window. You’d avoided this moment for a while. It had been quite a lot for you to wrap your head around after Yoongi had given you the information he’d cheated on you. You appreciated him for telling you in person, sparing you from the shame of having to find out through someone else.
Two weeks later you still didn’t feel ready to face everything. Not seeing him had helped you giving everything a place inside of your mind. But knowing he would be here soon and you would have to endure this conversation had your heart beating double time. You had definitely gone through a few of the stages of a breakup the past couple of days, and you were absolutely exhausted. As he told you what he had done, you hadn’t been able to grasp it. It was a reality you didn’t want to know existed. You couldn’t believe that the man you had loved to fondly, had done this to you. No matter which excuses he thought of. You had never thought he would be capable of doing something like this.
By the time you’d gotten home after finding out, you’d been so incredibly angry. Angry at yourself, for trusting someone as dearly as you had trusted him. You had given him your heart. Christ, you had given him everything, and he had thrown it all away. And for what? For one evening with someone else? To forget his problems for a few hours? But most of all you had been angry with him. Furious for what he had done to you, and for how much he had hurt you. Angry, for telling you the truth, because if he hadn’t then at least you’d still been happy. Disappointed, since he didn’t love you enough to not need anyone else but you. You’d been angry for a very long time. You still weren’t done being angry to be honest, and you knew you would be for much longer.
And then the process had started of trying to figure out what you were to do with everything he had told you. How could you possibly move past this? He had betrayed you, your trust and had indirectly told you that your love was no longer significant to him. And apart from that, he had proven to you that you could never put your trust in him again. Because what would prevent him from doing this again? He said he was sorry, and that might be true. But one could feel terrible about something, but still repeat that action. Trust that was once broken could not be restored. A relationship depended on it. Without it, it didn’t mean anything. You wanted to pretend it had never happened, deny the entire thing. But that was impossible.
Every time you thought about Yoongi, it was as if there was a hole inside of your chest. Your heart broken into tiny little pieces. How could something so beautiful be destroyed by one action? And after crying your eyes out for days, not having any appetite, and not being able to get out of bed, you had finally decided that it was time for the two of you to talk. You needed to get this over with, because otherwise you would never be able to get any closure. “One latte.” You looked up to see Yoongi putting your coffee down in front of you. Inside of your chest, your heart had no idea what it was supposed to do. For the first second it betrayed you by fluttering softly. But the next, it seemed to shatter, and a pain you didn’t know you could feel without any physical injury took master of you.
He looked just as handsome as he normally did, but there was a certain sadness that felt like a shadow all around him. It seemed to follow him everywhere he went. As he sat down across of you in the booth, you noticed he looked exhausted, as if he hadn’t had any decent sleep in days. “You look tired.” You spoke before you could change your mind. Internally you scolded yourself. The last thing you wanted was for him to think that you were worried about him, not after what he’d done. “Yeah, I’ve had a hard time sleeping last week. Can’t seem to quiet my mind.” After that, an awkward silence fell over the two of you. It was as if you were both trying to hold on to what had been, even if it was just for a few more minutes.
Because you both knew, that once either of you would speak up, that fantasy was about to come to an end. “I’m really glad you asked me to come. I thought you might no longer want to see me after…” The remaining part of his sentence was floating around in the air, and you both didn’t want to finish it. You cleared your throat and brought your coffee up to your lips, taking a sip without actually tasting anything. It gave you a minute to collect your thoughts before answering. “At first I didn’t.” His lips pulled together in a sad smile at those words and he sighed before combing his fingers through his hair. He looked sincerely sad because of it. His gaze drifted off towards the table, as if he was no longer able to look at you.
“Listen, I’ve been thinking about this for quite some time now. And the truth is, I don’t think I can forgive you for what you did. I would be lying to myself if I’d tell you that I would ever be able to move past this. I just can’t. You really hurt me Yoongi.” Your voice was soft, as if even after all of this, you were still scared of hurting him. He leaned his elbows on top of the table, resting his face in the palms of his hands. You couldn’t tell whether he was crying, even though you knew he wasn’t someone who was easily emotional. “I know. I don’t deserve for you to forgive me.” His voice sounded hoarse, and there was a part of you that wanted to reach out to him, giving him a gentle squeeze.
But that part of you was broken and so your hands remained where they were. “I really respect you for telling me the truth when you had the chance. But right now, I think you’re an absolute asshole for what you did.” He dropped his hands, and his eyes looked slightly red as he looked at you. He was drinking you in, as if this was the last time he might ever be able to look at you from this close. “But, maybe because of your honesty, we might be able to be friends one day.” Because no matter how difficult this was, and no matter how much you hated him right now. He wasn’t the kind of person you wanted to miss being in your life. He smiled sadly, running his fingers across his wet cheek. “I’d like that very much.”
This day had been a tough one, and it had seemed to stretch out forever. You were so happy you could finally head home and relax. After having classes from nine to six, missing your train so you were forced to finish your homework in the library, you really just wanted to do absolutely nothing for the rest of the night. Your mind was tired of concentrating and thinking and for the first time during this semester you felt as if you were tired of literally everything. You no longer wanted to go to college, you no longer wanted to finish your assignments, you no longer wanted to do things because you had to do them but because you wanted to do so.
At least Your boyfriend would be there when you got home. What you needed right now was a good cuddle session, or a good cry. You were still having a tough time choosing between the two. Spending time together wasn’t always easy for the two of you. He had his tight schedules and was away often, you were almost always due to stay at home because of college, and had a lot of deadlines to catch up on. But for the past six months you’d been together, the two of you had been able to work past your hardships. You made it work, because that was what you did when you love someone.
And you loved Taehyung, with whole your heart and you couldn’t think of being without him anymore. He had become to be such a huge part of your life in such a short amount of time. He was the one who was always there for you when things got hard. The person who always made you smile when you were said, who took better care of you than you took care of yourself. He always knew the right things to say and he always made you smile if you were feeling bad, which was exactly what you needed today. You made your way back to your apartment which you shared since a month ago. It had been a big move from his side him, asking you to move in with him and get a place together.
He had been so nervous, afraid you’d turn him down, afraid he was moving too fast. But the only thing you wanted to do was be close to him and since you didn’t saw him that often, living together seemed like the perfect solution to you. It had been a real adjustment though, being with each other during those crucial parts of the day, taking care of each other. But after you’d both gotten used to it, you both knew that you were perfetc for each other. You knew Taehyung inside and out, he was no longer a mystery to you.
As you finally got home you quickly made your way up the stairs. You noticed the light at the front door was off, and you frowned. Usually when he knew you were getting home late, he left the light on for you. You shook your head, telling yourself to get over it and act normal. He probably just forgot. Seemed like that history project had made you lose your mind. You sniffed at the thought. Looking for your key in your bag, you muttered softly underneath your breath. Feeling around for the metal before you found it and fumbled slightly to get the key in the keyhole in the dark. But when you threw the door open, you didn’t feel anything but relief, so happy to finally be home.
You kicked off your shoes, too tired to loosen up the shoelaces and walked in. When you saw Taehyung lying on the couch with one of his arms covering his eyes your heard fluttered in your chest. He was the cutest thing you had ever seen, you couldn’t get enough of him. “Taetae…” You called out, waiting for any kind of reaction. Normally when you’d see each other after such a long day he’d sit up and look at you a little dazed, waking up by the sound of your voice calling out for him. Or he would smile with his eyes closed, trying to pretend he was asleep but not being able to hide his happiness because you were finally home.
But today he didn’t seem to show any kind of response to your return at all. He just laid there on the sofa, neither looking at you nor greeting you back. You frowned and immediately felt slightly worried by his behavior. Was he unwell? If so, then why hadn’t he called you? You dropped your bag on the table and made your way over to the sofa, slightly hovering over him to check on him. His face didn’t look pale, though the skin underneath his eyes seemed to have a slightly darker color than usual. He looked exhausted and for a minute you thought it best not to disturb him. He needed to rest, he and his members had gone through a rough time lately and you wanted him to think about his health.
How he could function the way he did while taking naps in dressing rooms and while constantly being in the move remained a mystery to you. The last thing you wanted was for him to sacrifice any of his rest for you. As quietly as you could, you pulled a blanket from the back of the couch to tug him in. You let out a little squeal when suddenly someone grabbed a hold of your wrist and locked eyes with the guy in front of you. Taehyung blinked rapidly at you, as if he had no idea where he was at the moment and seemed seriously confused. You had no idea how long he’d been asleep, but he’d seemed to be pretty far off.
Then his eyes landed on you and he smiled softly, stretching his arms out in front of him and making a cute peeping sound while doing so. It made your heart melt. He let go of your wrist just as fast as he’d grabbed onto it and tried to sit up, but you shook your head, placed your hands on his chest and pushed him back down. “What are you doing?” He asked and shot you a questioning look while grabbing your hand and squeezing it inside of his own. That frown on his forehead, those dark circles under his eyes, that worn look one his face, it only made you even more.
“Don’t get up TaeTae. You should sleep some more, you look exhausted.” You mumbled while giving his hand a little squeeze in return. He scoffed at you as he sat up, immediately letting go of your hand as he buried his hands of his hair, his elbows leaning on his knees. You had no idea where this sudden reaction came from, you just wanted to take care of him. “I’ll be fine __________.” He said but there was a slight sound of annoyance in of his voice which made you feel a little bit suspicious. Once again you shook your head and you tried to convince him to take his rest, telling him you’d be fine. But he blocked all your wills to help.
“I said I’m fine!” His voice raised slightly and stood up from the couch, shaking the blanket off himself which you had laid on him with so much care. His behavior bothered you. Normally Taehyung wasn’t someone who was this jumpy and frustrated all of a sudden. It was another reason which indirectly let you know that he was running out of energy. You didn’t want him to get a burn out or to cross the line with his body, he had to take better care of himself. “You’re not fine Taehyung.” You threw back and he looked at you with squeezed eyes, it was almost a slightly threatening gesture and you felt goosebumps appear all over your skin.
“How can you expect to know that better than I know it myself?! I know myself better than you think __________, and I’m telling you that I’m feeling fine. Why are you being like this?” He asked it as if it was weird for you to react like this, as if you shouldn’t be asking him to take it easy. As if you didn’t see all of the things he went through. As if you weren’t there with him when he worked himself so hard he could barely stand. “I’m being like this because I’m worried about you, that’s why! Am I not aloud to get worried about you when I see you laying on the couch all exhausted? Is that so weird?”
For the first time in this conversation you raised your voice at him and he didn’t seem to react to that very well. Even though your shouting was the result of his own stubbornness, it seemed to make him even more thwarting than he had been at first. “I can take great care of myself you know!” His face was showing you the anger he felt by and you had no idea what you had done to deserve him treating you like this. Had you actually done something wrong? Had something happened which you didn’t know about? Why was he trying to push you away and shut you out?
“Tae, I’m your girlfriend! What do you expect me to do?!” You asked, sounding completely desperate. You simply wanted to know why he was behaving like this. This was how he was. Where was your bright and bubbly boyfriend? He shook his head at you and wanted to walk away from you, but you grabbed the sleeve of his sweater and held him back. The action didn’t seem to make him much happier and he harshly pulled it out of your grip, making you pull your hand back in surprise. You cuddled your hand against your chest while eying him, waiting for him to say something.
Just when you thought he was about to apologize for his silly behavior he fired back at you. “As my girlfriend I expect you to understand __________, why can’t you do that?!” He was still raising his voice at you and you were scared the neighbors might be able to hear. The walls weren’t that think around here. “Then tell me what I should understand! Tell me what’s wrong Taehyung! What the hell is going on?” By this time you were trying to match the volume of his voice and the fact that you were both raising your voices against one other made that you were both getting carried away in this whole thing.
You couldn’t believe you were having a fight over something like this. You didn’t even know what ‘this’ was. “Never mind, you wouldn’t get it anyway.” His voice was so cold that for a second you felt as if you were being iced over. Right, you wouldn’t get it, because after all you didn’t live in his world, you weren’t an idol. Even though his comment felt like knives cutting you, you still went on, you wanted him to tell you what was bothering him.“Taehyung, I’m your girlfriend! If I’m not able to understand you than who is?!”
Did that title mean nothing to him? It wasn’t just showing up and looking pretty for him. It wasn’t just cooking for him or cuddling with him. It wasn’t just the kisses or the hugs or everything else. Being a girlfriend also meant trying to get your boyfriend through a hard time, trying to talk to him about difficult things, but it seemed like he wasn’t up for any of that right now. “I don’t know! Fuck, why are you being like this?!” He asked again as he pulled his hair in frustration and shot you a furious look.
“Because I love you… That’s why.” The volume of your voice had dropped to a whisper and all of a sudden you felt really fragile, as if one more word would be enough to break you into a thousand pieces. A silence fell over the apartment and Taehyung just stared at you for a long time in silence. He stared into your eyes which were filled with tears by now. Then he let out a big and long sigh before dropping his arms next to his sides and closing his eyes. “I’m sorry __________.” he then said and you shook your head, as if you didn’t want to hear it.
“What does it matter? I wouldn’t get it anyway.” With that you got up from your spot on the couch and walked briskly past him towards your room, wanting to be away from this for a moment. Wanted to get him out of your bubble. If he was just going to burst it, then what was the point? But you felt a long and strong arm capture your waist. You looked up to the ceiling, trying to keep your tears from falling as you realized he wasn’t going to let you go. He pulled you back into him until your back met with his warm chest and you pressed your lips together when a sob threatened to escape from your throat. “I didn’t mean it like that. I’m so sorry princess, I’m just… I’m just so…” You knew he was struggling with his words so you waited for him to try and find the right ones. After a while he sighed and you felt his breath his against your ear.
“I’m just so stressed and tired and I feel as if everything I’m doing is wrong and I just… I feel as like I’m useless. Have you ever felt like that before?” With a surprised look you slowly turned around to face him. When you did he had a sad look inside of his eyes. His face pulled together in a painful expression when he saw the tears on your cheeks and he pulled the sleeves of his sweater over his hands to wipe them away. “You’re not useless Tae, don’t you ever think that. You work so hard, you give your all and you would give everything to make everyone happy. I know that and I’m sure everyone around you knows it too. You shouldn’t pressure yourself that much.”
He closed his eyes and he looked so tired, so weak, so drained. You felt sorry for him, sorry that he always had to work so hard, that he had to push his body to the limits, that he had to give everything up to do what he loved. “I just feel as if I can’t do it anymore.” His voice cracked at the end of his sentence and you were overwhelmed when you saw tears in his eyes as soon as he opened them. “Taehyung…” You whispered barely audible and you placed both your hands on his cheeks.
He stared into your eyes and you felt like crying along with him, seeing him like this, it killed you. “I’m sorry.” He said again, making you frown at him. “You don’t have to feel sorry. Everyone reaches this point at a sudden moment, this is your moment. It’s not your fault.” When the first tears fell from his eyes you pecked them away and when you pulled back you noticed he was smiling softly. You were glad you were able to make him feel better, even though there wasn’t much more you could do than talk to him.
“Why don’t you rest a little now? We’ve got the time.” He looked at you for a while before nodding. You were glad he was finally giving into your pleads. Once again you tugged him towards the couch and this time he willingly sat down. He looked as if he’d fall asleep as soon as his head would touch a pillow. You sat down beside him and without saying anything he placed his head on your lap and made himself comfortable. You giggled and pulled the blanket over him once again, knowing that this time he wouldn’t stop you. For a moment he played with your hand which was on his chest while your other hand combed through his bangs.
Then his dark eyes looked up at yours, you sent him a soft look, one that told him everything was going to be okay, that you weren’t angry… That you understood. It seemed as if he had been looking for that because he smiled peacefully at you before closing his eyes. In no time his breath became regular, his chest rose and fell in a steady pace. While looking down on your boyfriend you brushed his hair out of his face and placed a kiss on his forehead. “I love you…” You whispered and thought you could see his eyes flicker for a moment before he quietly said. “I love you too…”

Taehyung
His knee was bouncing up and down as he bit down on the nail of his thumb. A weird energy hung inside of the room, causing your heart to stutter nervously inside of your chest. “Would you stop that please.” You muttered, sending Taehyung a stern look as you both waited for the doctor to return after excusing himself and accepting a phone call. Minutes seemed to take hours while you were lying on that chair, your stomach exposed. “I’m sorry, I’m just worried. What if it’s something bad?” He asked, and you scoffed at his careless choice of words.
He instantly apologized, but stopped bouncing his leg and tried to stop fidgeting by sitting down on top of his hands. You’d been having some very irritating cramps on the right side of your stomach for a few days now. At first you had tried to ignore it, thinking of it as nothing special. But as the pain didn’t face, and didn’t get any less, you’d finally told your boyfriend about your troubles. Of course, he’d immediately started googling your symptoms. And in no time he’d made an appointment with your doctor, thinking you might have an appendicitis. Although your doctor hadn’t seemed half as worried as Taehyung had been, he had sent you in for an ultrasound, just to be sure.
Which was exactly why you were here, waiting for someone to check out the insides of your stomach on a weird little black and grey screen. “Sorry to keep you waiting. That took a little longer than I anticipated.” The man who was about to perform the ultrasound stepped back inside of the room, closing the door behind himself. You blinked rapidly as Taehyung almost jumped up from his seat because of the man’s sudden appearance. His entire body seemed to be stiff with worry by that point. It was almost as if you had to be the one calming him down instead of the other way around. “Okay, let’s take a look.” You watched carefully as he sat down on a little stool aside from you. Grabbing hold of the ultrasound, he put some gel on the end of it, and you watched as the blue substance glittered in the light.
“This might be a little cold.” He warned, as he carefully placed the little head on the right side of your abdomen. Your heart was fluttering inside of your chest and you felt your boyfriend taking hold of your hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. You were all looking at the screen, but as you tried to comprehend what you were seeing, you realize you had no idea what you were seeing. How one could decipher whatever was showing on those images remained a mystery to you. “Take a deep breath for me please, and hold.” You did as you were told, taking a deep gulp of air and holding it in, silently counting the seconds passing by inside of your head. “And let go.” You tried your hardest to relax, but figured that you would never be able to until this was over.
The man hummed, and you noticed a little frown between his eyebrows as he studied the screen in front of you. “Your appendix seems normal.” He muttered, gathering some more gel before guiding the ultrasound towards the middle of your stomach, running everything over again. You visibly relaxed, pleased that at least it wasn’t anything that needed immediate action. “It’s probably a stomach bug right, nothing to worry about?” You questioned, already starting to feel embarrassed by the fact that you had made a drama over nothing. Perhaps your period was due in a few days, maybe that was bothering you. Or maybe you hadn’t been drinking enough water, and your kidneys had been telling you they were coming up short, the hard way.
The ultrasound moved lower, checking everything, as you looked over at your boyfriend and sent him a pointed look. As if to say, ‘see, I told you not to worry’. “Aahh… I see.” The radiologist cooed, and nodded his head as if it was clear to him what was going on as he removed the ultrasound from your stomach and grabbed a towel to wipe away the gel lingering around on your skin. You stared at him with raised eyebrows and beside you, you could feel Taehyung holding his breath. “I think congratulations are in order. Miss, you are pregnant.” The temperature inside of the room seemed to plummet, and you weren’t sure you were breathing when those words left his mouth.
“Excuse me?” You almost shrieked, and the guy clearly seemed alarmed now, noticing the panic in your expression and the way Taehyung’s soul seemed to leave his body as he fell back against the chair he was sitting on. He sputtered something, before composing himself and explaining. “The cramps you noticed were probably the fertilization of the egg you felt. Out of these images, it is clear you are pregnant. We could do a more detailed ultrasound, checking the condition of the fruit. We could probably find a heartbeat…” Quickly you pushed yourself up from your seat, all your thoughts being slurred together inside of your mind. You couldn’t think, god, you weren’t even sure if you could breath. “Are you okay? Miss?” Taehyung jumped up as if someone had given him some kind of electric shock. He grabbed both of your hands in his, squeezing them for dear life as he tried to lock eyes with you.
“Could you please give us a moment?” He asked, and the guy actually seemed to be happy to excuse himself as he got up from his seat, and disappeared from the room, giving the two of you some space. “This is impossible, how could this happen?” You were close to yelling as tears stung inside of your eyes. For months, this scenario had been a dream before it turned into an absolute nightmare. You felt like crawling in on yourself, shutting everything out and trying to forget it had ever happened. “It’s going to be alright princess. We’re going to figure this out.” Taehyung tried to reassure you, but you could hear the terror inside of his voice. It broke your heart, that he couldn’t be happy about this, that this couldn’t be a wonderful experience for him.
“How can you say that? I can’t be pregnant Taehyung! It might kill me. God…” You pulled your hands out of his hold, pressing them against your face as the tears began to flow. How could it be possible that by creating a new life, you might possibly end your own. “I’m such a failure. You could still leave, you don’t have to go through this. I would understand it if you…” You heard the sharp intake of his breath. Saw the way he turned away from you abruptly, his hands behind his neck as he walked towards the other side of the room. When he twisted back towards you, his cheeks were wet, and his eyes looked wild. “How can you say such I thing? After everything we’ve been through together! I don’t know how this happened __________. But I was prepared to put aside my desire to have children in order to be with you. How could you think, for even a second, that I would want to leave now?”
He was almost screaming, and you could tell you’d hurt him with your words by the look on his face. You sobbed, because you had no idea why you were saying such things. You just wanted to grant him a chance to get out before things really got messy. Crossing the distance between the two of you, he quickly wrapped his arms around you, engulfing you in a strong hug. “I don’t know what’s going to happen, but I’m going do everything I can to make sure that this is all going to be okay. I promise. We’re going to do this, together.”
Jungkook
“Shit, oh shit…” Your breathing came out in little puffs as you stared down at the little stick inside of your hands. All of a sudden, your entire world seemed to have turned upside down. Everything was perfect, yet everything was ruined. There was no way you would ever be able to describe the feelings which were whirling inside of you right now. A wave of nausea crashed into you and you held onto the edges of the sink in the hope to stabilize yourself. The world was spinning too fast. “Babe… We got to get going.” Jungkook called from outside of the bathroom. He’d been talking about going down for breakfast for the past half an hour, because once he had his mind set on food, there was nothing that could stop him from getting it.
You squeezed your eyes shut, trying to breath in through you nose, and out through your mouth. This really couldn’t be happening right now. You and Jungkook had decided to get a little get away, just the two of you. It had been three amazing days so far, and you’d completely lost yourselves in each other’s company. For once you’d been able to let go of all of your worries and frustrations about work and expectations. And now, and now what? This couldn’t be happening. “Honey, we’re going to miss breakfast, we really have to go.” Jungkook opened the bathroom door and pushed his head between the crack. His eyes scanned the room for a moment, before they landed on you.
“Hey…” He rushed over, seeing they way you were bent over the sink. In a matter of seconds, his hands were on your shoulders, his fingers softly kneading your muscles. “What’s wrong? Are you feeling sick again?” He asked, concern lingering inside of his voice as he brushed away the curtain of hair which was hanging down in front of your face. His eyes were searching for yours, and he must have noticed you looked rather pale. “Maybe we should get you to a doctor baby, just a quick check up? You’ve been feeling like this for two days now, I’m starting to get a little worried.” Of course he would never guess what was really going on. You’d always been safe. There was no reason for you not to be.
This wasn’t on your to do list. By now you had both accepted that this was never going to be in your future. And here he was, your adorably sweet boyfriend, worried if you might have a stomach bug. “No…” You muttered softly, slowly lifting your head and shaking your head away from your face, closing your eyes for a second as you tried to compose yourself. How to tell him something like this? There was no right reaction. “But, we need to make sure you didn’t catch some kind of virus.” He kept going, and his innocence sent a jolt through your heart. Opening your eyes you searched for his inside of the mirror. His eyebrows were drawn dawn, a frown visible in between them. “It’s not a stomach bug.” You said, and took a deep breath as you picked up the test.
His frown seemed to deepen as he looked down on the test in your hold. He blinked rapidly a few times, and he stuttered a few uncomprehensive words before he brought out, “You have Covid? I thought the symptoms were a little different.” You almost wanted to laugh at him for saying this. But you could never laugh at his innocence. As a matter of fact, it might just make you cry. “Oh baby, it’s not Covid either. It’s not that kind of test.” You had no idea how to make your voice sound. Apologetic, full of sorrow. Or a mix of excitement and dreadful. His gaze stared inside of you, confusion written all over his face as his eyes searched your expression.
“But it has the two lines and…” He muttered, and then you saw it. You saw the realization dawn on him as his expression evened out, his face becoming blank. His chest expanded as he took a deep breath, and it slowly escaped through his nose. “You’re pregnant.” He stated, a matter of fact, not a question. You watched him as his shoulders squared, tension filling his entire body as he turned his back towards you and walked towards the toilet on the other side of the room. He brushed his hands through his hair before closing the lit and sitting down on top of it. With his legs wide, he put his elbows down on top of it, lacing his hands together as he looked up at you.
“It’s impossible, we used a condom.” He started, and you could tell by the look on his face that he was begging you to tell you the test was wrong. That this was all a big joke. You bit down on your bottom lip, feeling as if your floor was getting pulled from underneath your feet. You didn’t know whether to scream, or cry, or laugh. “A condom can snap, it can have a hole in it. It’s not 100 percent pregnancy proof.” You said, since this was one of the first questions you had asked yourself as soon as you started noticing the signs. It’s what you told yourself to reassure yourself that this couldn’t be real, this couldn’t be happening. You hadn’t had to look it up in order to know it, yet you’d done so anyway. And the internet had confirmed your suspicions.
“But you thought your period was about to start, you said you were bleeding.” He backtracked, and you knew that once again, he was right. You’d spotted some red spots in your underwear two days ago. It had seemed strange at that time, because your period wasn’t supposed to be due in another week. “Apparently there is this thing called spotting, it’s a common thing with pregnancy. It kinds of looks like your period, but it’s not.” Jungkook looked like he was at a lost for words. His mouth opened, then closed again without any words getting out. You understood his confusion, you had felt the same way before this. You almost felt betrayed by your own body.
“But, maybe the test is wrong? It can be false positive right? I’ve heard about those things before…” He tried as walked towards him and you picked up the two other tests you had bought and done before he walked in on you. You’d laid them on the back of the toilet behind him, too stunned to take them with you to the sink when you were done. “They’re all two lines. They’re all positive.” You squeaked as he took the tests from you and held them up to his face. Quickly you swatted his hand away. “Don’t smell those Jungkookie, I pied on them.” You scolded him, and he lowered them down, staring at the two lines. “Right, obviously.” A silence fell over the two of you and you watched your boyfriend closely as you monitored his reaction.
All different kinds of thoughts passed over his face, you saw them, following each other one by one. You could see the disbelieve, something close to betrayal. Next up you so the worry. Yet, your heart broke when for even the slightest second, you saw his eyes light up, pure joy visible inside of them, before realization hit him like a slap in the face and all that was left was fear and sadness. “Oh god, what are we going to do?” He muttered, and you shook your hands in front of you as you felt the tears pooling inside of your eyes. How could the world be so unfair. It had taken you years to get over the fact that you would never be able to have children of your own. That pregnancy would be too dangerous for you to go through. That you’d failed in one of the things you were put on his earth to do, even as more and more people believed differently by now.
It was cruel, that now when the two of you had finally accepted that you would never have kids, that this would happen. “Fuck, fuck…” You could feel tears running down your cheeks as your beaths became shallow. Your vision blurred, and you could tell you were started to hyperventilate. How could this be? Instantly, Jungkook shot up from his seat on the toilet and was next to you in the blink of an eye. “Baby, no, look at me.” He grabbed hold of your face with both of his hands, his grip firm but not painful. You focused on the way his thumbs brushed against your cheeks, catching your tears as they fell. “Look at me ___________, breath honey.” He guided you through it, breathing with you in the hope to calm you down. Eventually you did, and you focused on the fact that at least the two of you were in this together.
No matter what happened, at least you had the strongest and sweetest man in the universe by your side. “It’s going to be okay, we’re going to figure this out.” And as he said it, you weren’t sure who exactly he was trying to convince, you or himself. Because even as he said it, you could see the anxiety and the worries written all over his face. Slowly your breathing evened out, and oxygen was dividing itself evenly inside of your lungs. It wasn’t fair, most people, when they heard this new, they were happy, thrilled. You were absolutely terrified. “What are we going to do?” You whispered, placed your hands on top of his and he shook his head as he brought them up towards his lips, kissing them softly. “
I don’t know, but we’ll be fine. I guess we’re having a baby, unless…” Doubt clouded his mind, and just thinking about it, made you feel sick again. You’d always known that you would never be able to do that. You would never be able to get rid of something you had longed for so badly. It was why you had always avoided it in the first place. “I guess we are.” You confirmed, and he sighed, as if relieved you were the one making that choice. He leaned his forehead against yours, your breaths mingling together as you got lost into his eyes.
“This is so fucking scary.” He said, and you nodded. It was scary in many ways. You were scared for your own health, about everything that might go wrong. But you were also scared because after thinking it would never happen, right now it seemed you were going to be a mom. And Jungkook would be a dad, a perfect, absolutely amazing dad. Even though he probably didn’t believe that right now. “Yes, it’s fucking terrifying. But we’re going to face this, together.”
“Congratulations!” You cheered as you entered the room, immediately spotting your friend who seemed to be shining like the brightest star in the universe. She was looking absolutely stunning and actually you couldn’t tell that she had been pregnant until just a few weeks ago. She squealed when she saw you and stepped forward to wrap her arms around you for a warm hug. It had been too long since the two of you had seen each other, but as usually life had been in the way. You’d been busy with college, while she had been busy being a mother. You’d met a few times during her pregnancy and each time you’d been able to see her belly grow. It was a strange thing to find it gone all of a sudden. Yet now, instead of proudly showing off her pregnant stomach, she had something way more valuable for people to see. “We’re so happy you could make it!” She beamed and she accepted the gift Taehyung held out on front of her. Your boyfriend had originally been busy today, so it had been the plan for you to come by yourself.
Though in the end it seemed like he had the day off, so the two of you could go to this baby shower together. You’d been excited about it, because you knew that you’d be able to see all your high school friends again. You hadn’t had the time to meet up with them until now and you knew they’d all be invited. You’d been going on and on about it for the past couple of days, telling Taehyung about how much fun it would be. But what you hadn’t told him was that there was also a part inside of you which dreaded being here. The inner part of yourself wanted to crumble by the sight of all of this and by experiencing all of these joyful feelings. You just didn’t want him to worry about you, he already seemed to be worried about you so often, you didn’t want to make things even worse. “The others are near the drinks, you should go check on them. But I want you to meet someone first.” Jessica said, and by the twinkles inside of her eyes as she mentioned it, you could tell exactly who she wanted to introduce you to.
Hi this is my second time requesting. Can you do a Jungkook imagine were he takes y/n with him on in the soop and y/n and Jungkook have so much fun they cuddle and play around together but one day the boys and y/n were playing outside and y/n slipped and fractured her ankle and Jungkook ran to her and asked her if she was ok etc and called a doctor when the doctor came he bandaged up her ankle And when he left Jungkook comforted her and took care of her. When he wants to remain friends after breaking up I Part 2
∙ Request ♡ Can you write a second part for the previous scenario ‘when he wants to remain friends after breaking up’.
∙ Word count: 3,8K
“Did you read this?” Amanda asked, holding up her phone towards you so that you could see the article displayed on the screen. One look at it, and you knew exactly what it was about. Yes, you had read it, and then spend the next few hours trying the hardest you could to never think about it again, failing miserably. You weren’t supposed to read any of those things. You knew you were supposed to avoid those sites all together. Usually the only thing they contributed in this society were gossips and bullshit, drama and heartbreak. In this situation, it wasn’t any different. You hummed in response, looking down onto your own screen again, trying to seem uninterested.
It was a cloudy day, and you had a calm morning planned as there was nowhere else you needed to be right now. Nothing else you needed to do. No one else you had to think of. You had a photoshoot scheduled tonight, but you still had a few hours to kill until then. “I wonder if it’s true.” Amanda continued, her voice trailing off. And you knew, you knew with that she was tricking you into saying something on the matter. You knew she was trying to get you to speak your mind. Which was exactly what you didn’t want to do. Yet it was exactly what you did. Because how could you not? This revolved around you. It was all you had been able to think about for the past few days since this article had been posted, even though you had tried so damn hard not to.
“Ow sure. You wonder if it’s true if Jeon Jungkook told them he is still in love with his ex girlfriend or if they simply made it up? Well, why don’t you go ask him and put us both out of our misery then?” You snapped. As soon as the words left your mouth, you knew you shouldn’t have said them. Not only had they been rude and disrespectful. Not only was your tone snarky and dexterous. You had also just created a perfect opening for your friend to start up on a topic she had wanted to address for days now. You had given her a reason to speak up about something, or rather someone, you had tried to avoid talking about for almost two weeks now. And you had been so successful in it. Since the last time you’d seen him in the hallway backstage, you had been a master in avoiding Jeon Jungkook all together.
No more calls, no more texts, no more conversations about him, nothing. The only slip you’d made was with this article, and now it had come to bite you in the ass. Those stupid gossip articles, always dragging everyone along. “You know, I don’t understand why you’re doing this to yourself.” And with that she was off. You knew there was no way for you to escape this anymore. She had probably been brooding on this for days, waiting for the right time to tell you exactly what her thoughts were on the matter. Usually, you appreciated her advice. She was one of the people you could count on to help you think your way out of a nasty situation. Yet, this time, you’d rather she kept her tongue.
“Doing what exactly?” You couldn’t help but ask, because how could you not? How could someone not want to know what one had to say after an opening like that? Talking about a fresh break up was always a bad idea. Everything was still raw. The wounds still healing. Rubbing salt on them seemed the worst thing to do. Yet, here you were, on your couch, rubbing a lot of salt. “I mean, I get why you’re angry. God of course I do. That bastard deserves every second of this. But you, you don’t deserve any of this.” You sighed as you stopped pretending to be focused on anything else than the conversation at hand. Dropping your phone on the table in front of you, you dropped your head in your hands, wiping them across your face. Thinking about all of this was exhausting, talking about it, was absolutely draining.
“What do you mean?” You asked, knowing she was dying to give you the full explanation. Everyone had been dying to do so for weeks. Somehow, everyone was always ready to comment on other people’s relationships gone wrong. They always seemed to know better. Always thought there was something left to safe. “What I mean, is that it’s obvious you’ve been spending the past few weeks trying your hardest to forget about the one person you don’t want to live without. You’re miserable, he’s miserable. He should be, he’s the one who ended things…” You raised your eyebrows slightly at her poor choice of words. He’d dumped your ass, that was what he’d done. And the explanation he’d given you hadn’t made up for it.
“But you have a guy, almost begging you to take him back, and you refuse him because you think you can’t. Because you think you’d make an absolute fool of yourself by doing so. Which means that your ego is currently standing in the way of your own happiness. Not his, yours. Your fucking own happiness. You shouldn’t allow that to happen. You can listen to everyone telling you that it serves him right, that you should move on. But the fact is that you can’t. I’m guessing that’s pretty obvious by now. You love him, period. And you can’t stop doing that just because that’s what you’re supposed to do. The heart wants what it wants, and yours clearly wants Jungkook. Whether it’s right or not.” The silence that followed was a deafening one. You both sat there, Amanda clearly surprised and slightly horrified because of everything she just threw at you. You stunned, too breath taken to say so anything to that confession.
You had no idea whether to tell her she was right or to burst into tears, still knowing she was right. But what were you supposed to do. You had broken off contact with him weeks ago. And a part of you was still convinced it was all for the best. “When he broke up with me he said he wanted to be friends, not that he still loved me or that he wanted to get back together. I can’t be friends with Jeon Jungkook. I simply can’t.” You sputtered, knowing it would kill you to call your ex boyfriend anything other than the man you loved. You couldn’t have him being a part of your life any other way. The thought of being in the same room as him, pretending not to feel anything if he’d ever start dating anyone else. Pretending to be happy for him. It made you sick to your stomach.
Amanda lifted her phone, swinging the article into your face. “Would someone who wants to be ‘just friends’ confess to still loving you in an article which he knew she was probably going to read? Which he knew the whole fucking world was going to read?” You brushed her hand away, not being able to stand it to read that title again. It had kept you awake for nights, that headline. You’d been so close to reaching out to him, to call him and ask him if he meant it. To ask him if he really loved you still. There was this part of you which died to know. But there was also a part of you who wanted to turn around and walk away. The part of you which had been shattered into pieces when he’d told you it was over. When he’d confessed to you his feelings for you had changed.
That he didn’t feel the way he once did. You were being pulled into all kinds of different directions. One day this and the other that. What did he expect from you? To simply forgive him? What did others expect from you? To simply forget what had happened? All of a sudden the room seemed to be closing in around you. The air sticky in your lungs. It felt like you were being smothered. “I need some fresh air. Don’t wait for me to head out. I’ll make my way over to the venue myself.” You announced as you got up from the couch, grabbed your phone and found your bag on the way out. Amanda opened her mouth to say something. Whether it was to apologize or explain things, you never knew. Hugging your coat around yourself, you slipped out of the front door and into the windy afternoon. You took a big gulp of fresh air, feeling your hair blowing into several directions as you set off towards the coffee shop close by.
It was absolutely terrible that everyone seemed to think they knew what was best for you. But what they didn’t know was that this was a war you had been fighting with yourself ever since you and Jungkook had broken up. It wasn’t like you didn’t understand where he was coming from. After almost three years of dating, your relationship hadn’t been the same as it had been when it had first started. That extreme, suffocating love which you had felt for each other the first few months of your relationship had evolved into something else. But instead of it not being enough, you had seen it as something even more beautiful than that. Jungkook had been your beacon, the lighthouse which always safely guided you home after a rough day. He’d been the embrace you wanted to come home to.
The one you wanted to tell everything, good or bad. He’d become someone comfortable, the one who knew everything about you, without having to ask. The one who loved you no matter your flaws and your imperfections. At least, that was what you’d thought. Apparently, for him, those feelings hadn’t been enough. And if you went back to him now, what was going to change? Things wouldn’t be new. They wouldn’t get any more exciting. You were still going to be busy. You still wouldn’t have more time for one another. The puppy love you had once felt was one you were never going to get back. You couldn’t give him what he wanted, not anymore. Taking a deep breath, you tried to hold yourself together as you reached the coffee shop. As you opened the door and pushed your head inside, you noticed it wasn’t too crowded. And your favorite spot was not taken.
When Jungkook and you had first started dating, you’d come here together often. It had been a place close by, where you both had been able to get back home whenever was needed, but you still felt as if it was just the two of you. It had felt as if you had been gone from everyone and everything else for a little while. That was the thing about break ups after a long-term relationship. Even the spots which used to be your favorites in the past, were now shared. The memories haunted you everywhere. You didn’t understand how people did it. How did one just move on? Standing in line you waited to order. How much time would you need before you’d ever be able to forget about all the things you’d done together? How long would it take before he wouldn’t be the first thing you thought about when you got out of bed in the morning?
How long before you felt you could finally put it to rest? To be fair, it seemed impossible. “Can I get your order please?” The boy behind the register smiled politely at you and you felt like you could cry. You felt pathetic, standing in a coffee place you used to come to with your ex boyfriend, who you still loved, getting all teared up by the friendliness of a stranger. How things changed. “Yes, could I get a latte with a drop of caramel please?” The order was scribbled onto a note, and you were told it was coming right up. Swiping your cart, you moved to the side to let the next person take their order. Which only left you absently staring into space, hoping not to catch any attention. The last thing you needed was some unwanted attention.
“One latte with a little squeeze of caramel.” A familiar voice caught you off guard, and you blinked your eyes rapidly as you tried to focus your gaze on the hand presenting a paper cup in front of you. Your heart didn’t know whether to shudder or crack inside of your chest. Locking eyes with Jungkook, it took you a moment before you reached out to take the cup from him. The grateful response someone expected from you in a situation like this instantly died on your tongue. He chuckled awkwardly, brushing a hand through his hair, after which it fell straight back into his eyes. There was a time you would have stepped forward to comb your hands through those soft locks, trying to control it. Right now, your hand curled into a fist at your side.
“We should probably change our hiding spot if we want to try to forget each other.” He tried, doing his best to make it sound like a joke between friends, but failing miserably. As you stood rooted to the spot, you noticed people starting to pay attention to the two of you. Curious glances were coming your way as people noticed two well known ex lovers trying to have an awkward first conversation since breaking up. And here you were thinking this day couldn’t get any worse. “Do you want to…” He pointed to the booth you always used to sit. The one you used to mope about when it was taken whenever you got here. Taking a deep breath you gave one stern nod, doing anything to get out of the center of everyone’s attention right now.
You sat down on the bench on one side of the table, he picked the other. Placing his cup of coffee between the two of you, his fingers squeezing the cup nervously. You were pretty sure wanting to be friends wasn’t supposed to feel this uncomfortable. “How have you been?” He asked softly, his eyes sweeping up to look for yours and drifting back towards the table when he noticed you were sternly avoiding his. You turned your answer over inside of your head. What were you supposed to say to a question like that? You were supposed to tell him you were doing just fine. Prove that you didn’t need him, that you were better off without him. It was what you had said last time you’d seen him, and it had left a bad taste in your mouth for hours. But you couldn’t tell him you were not fine either.
Because then you’d sound desperate, and you’d hate that even more. There was no right fucking answer to this. “Shit, I can’t do this.” You muttered, getting ready to push yourself out of the booth and speed walk towards the door and back out as discretely as you could. Until your skin set on fire, where his hand reached out and grabbed a hold of your wrist. His hold was firm, but not painful. The grip almost as hopelessly as you felt. “Please don’t go, can we just… Please.” His voice cracked and the sound had you frozen in place. For the first time since you walked into him you willingly looked up to study his face. What you saw there, surprised you. You couldn’t believe you hadn’t noticed it when you’d first looked at him.
There was a stubble visible all over his cheeks and above his lips. His hair, soft as it might be, looked unkempt. And his eyes, there was a look inside of them you had never seen before. “I just… I’m sorry, I’m so sorry for everything I did and everything I said. I know that’s not going to fix it, but I just need, I need to tell you how sorry I feel. I fucked up, I fucked up so bad.” He croaked, his voice slurred thick with emotion. You could feel a lump forming in your throat because of it. And even after everything he did and how much pain he caused you, you still felt your heart break for him. “Yes, you fucked up really bad.” Because what else were you supposed to say?
He made a huge mistake, and now what? He slowly let go of your wrist, as if it pained him to no longer be able to touch you. His hand stayed close by though, never going far out of reach. A silence followed between the two of you, yet it wasn’t as uncomfortable as you thought it would be. It was loaded, but you simply weren’t sure if you wanted to hear what he was about to say next. So instead, you beat him to it. “I can’t be your friend Jungkook.” You stated, placing both of your hands flat on the table, trying to ground yourself. Should you apologize for it? No, no you probably shouldn’t. He searched your face, as if looking for something, before he nodded, understandingly. “I don’t want to be friends either.”
Confusion swirled inside of you and gave way to anger. He was playing with you, messing with your feelings. Just a few weeks earlier, it was all he’d ever wanted, and now he was taking everything back. How did he expect you to keep up with him? As if shattering your heart hadn’t been enough. “What do you want from me then Jungkook? I’m tired of your games! I’m tired of reading articles online, contradicting each other. I’m sick of this! What the fuck do you want?” You didn’t mean to raise your voice, because more attention was the last thing you wanted. Several people tried to subtly listen in on your conversation, but you didn’t care.
You wanted this to be over. You wanted this to end. You deserved this, so you could move on. Jungkook looked as if he was about to be physically ill. “I want a second chance.” He whispered, his voice so soft you almost weren’t sure if your ears were deceiving you. But you were sure you hadn’t imagined it, when he said what he did. If you were in a public place right now, and if it hadn’t gone against your principles, you probably would have slapped him across the face. “What?” You sputtered, as it was the only stupid thing you were able to say. He braced himself, and seemed to swallow his courage before he spoke up.
“I was so stupid when I let you go ___________. I had no idea. But once you were gone, I knew. I knew exactly what I lost. I thought what I felt for you was no longer love, but it was everything more than that. I was just too stupid to see it. When I let you go, I let go of my best friend. I said goodbye to the one person who knew me, to the one person I would want to be a part of my life for as long as I get to live it. I want to share everything with you, my highs and my lows. I lost my family when you left, a piece of myself. And I’ve never felt so lost, so lonely…” You were stunned into silence, having a hard time breathing when you noticed a tear escaping his eye. “You were my home, no matter where we were. And I took it all for granted. I didn’t realize it was something to cherish, a once in a lifetime thing, until I threw it all out of the window. Fuck, I should have asked you to marry me instead of letting you go. I’m so fucking stupid.”
He angrily whipped away the tear that had slipped down his cheek by now, all the way to his chin. By now, yours were streaming freely, on their own accord. There was nothing you could do to stop them. “I know you probably won’t believe me. And you have every right not to. I hurt you, and I will never forgive myself for it, even if you might one day decide you could. I’m not worthy of you and I know it. But god what I would do to get a second try. I would spend the rest of my life proving you just how much I love you, because I do. I love you, so, so much. And I will never, ever take that for granted, ever again.” It seemed as if he had come to the end of his speech, and you rubbed away your tears as you leaned back against the seat, emotionally drained.
Out of all the things you had expected to happen today, this was the least you had expected. His confession had been raw, and for someone who usually wasn’t good with words and emotions, he had been spot on. “You know, a friend told me earlier today that I don’t deserve any of this.” You said, looking him dead in the eye as you did. You watched him shrink into himself because of your words, and he nodded, looking lost. “I promise you I will never bother you again.” He assured you, and studied your face one final time before reaching for his cup and shoving towards the end of his seat.
“And I guess she’s right. I don’t deserve any of this. I deserve to be happy.” You continued as if you hadn’t heard what he’d just said. And he stopped, lifting his gaze to look at you. His expression told you he wasn’t sure whether he wanted you to continue or not. “And I hate myself to saying this, but what makes me happy is you.” He deflated, his bottom lip quivering as if he was about to burst into tears in the middle of a café. And maybe he deserved that much. You sighed, shoving away your coffee mug, its insides now long cold. “So you better keep your promise and come back here. Because you still have a lot of making up to do.”
When he wants to remain friends after breaking up with you

The room was filled with people he didn’t recognize. Conversations were ringing in the air, but he didn’t understand a single thing they were saying. The words directed towards him went straight past his head as he stared at the small screen of his phone, knowing he should have given up ages ago but unwilling to do so. Somehow he believed that if he’d only continue to glare at the device long enough, it would cause a text to sweep in at last. It had been going on like this for days now, yet his mind wasn’t willing to let go already. He knew it had been the right thing to do. It hadn’t been fair to you nor himself to keep this going.
That didn’t mean it hadn’t hurt like hell. It was as if there was a hole inside of his chest, one he couldn’t seem to fill. When he’d first ended it, he hadn’t realized just what he was giving up. Now, he knew better. Hoseok was sitting beside him, silent as a mouse, afraid to make a single sound. He knew his members were done with his behavior, that they were done with his mocking. Until now, no one had dared to say something to him about the matter, but it wouldn’t take much longer before one his elder friends would address him.
“Go! Go! Go! Faster you…” Jimin scolded across the field, using his arms and legs to express himself as Taehyung made his way from one square over to the next. He ran straight past it, reaching the second just as Hoseok fisted the ball between his hands, swinging it up in the air with a loud yelp. “You better not finish that sentence Park Jimin!” Namjoon scolded, causing Jimin to chuckle and call out all the possible options he could have used to do so anyway. A burst of laughter rang through the open air, and you leaned back on your hands in the grass as you enjoyed the rays of sunlight warming up your face.
It was one of the first real beautiful days of the year, and you couldn’t think of a better way to spend it than just so. The first day the sun actually felt warm and cozy, instead of simply shining down and making it seem like summer outside. The air smelt fresh, blossoms hanging on the trees around the open field. Cloud drifted by slowly, making it seem as if time passed leisurely. You sighed, content, as your eyes scanned the boys playing a ‘friendly’ game of baseball.
The guys had just finished filming for their newest episode for In The Soop today. Jungkook had asked you to come by, and you had watched the final few cuts, laughing silently behind the crew, before they wrapped up. You had missed each other a lot recently. Things had been busy on both of your ends. College was being a bitch, and as your paper was due in a few weeks, you spend a majority of your behind your computer, typing away about stuff you thought you barely seemed to know anything about. Jungkook had been away from home none stop, busy promoting, recording in the studio and filming for the next season of In The Soop.
So when he’d asked you over, and you had seemed to have run against a writers block, you hadn’t been able to refuse his offer. Which caused you to be here, in this exact place in this exact time. And you wouldn’t want to be anywhere else at this very moment. You watched him closely as you smiled at his friends. His eyes focused on Hoseok as he threw the ball back to Jin, who was standing on the other end of the field. “Okay, who’s next?” Jin asked, as they waited for another batter to make their way forward. The sun was shining down on his dark hair. His cheeks slightly pink because of the heat.
You were too busy studying your boyfriend’s beautiful expression and didn’t notice Taehyung’s gaze landing on you until the sound of your name reached your ears. “____________! Get up! Take a swing.” Your eyes widened, like a deer in headlights. Jungkook raised his eyebrows at you, and you could see his words to defend you at the already forming on his lips. The thing was, you were pretty bad at sports. No, you were very shitty at sports as a matter of fact. You were the one who was always sitting on the side, cheering everyone on and watching them do great things.
You were amazed by people who were as flexible to reach their fingers to the ground while bending at their hips. Or who shot a ball into the middle of two poles in one kick. But you were always the one sitting out, always the one saying no. And for this once, you didn’t want your boyfriend to have to speak up on your behalf. “Alright.” You mumbled, getting up from your spot and whipping off your hands. What was the worst that could happen? You could make a fool out of yourself, not being able to hit the ball. Cause that was the furthest you would ever get anyway.
This got you a cheer from the guys, even from Jungkook, though it was a surprised one. Jimin handed you the bat, giving you a pat on the shoulder and a huge supportive smile as you took your place at the first base. The bat felt foreign in your grip, heavier than you expected. You swung it from left to right, trying out the best way to hold it, and carefully placed your left hand underneath your right, the way you had seen Taehyung do it before you. Jin crouched down slightly, placing his huge glove in front of himself as he asked you to swing the bat once. As you did, you felt all the muscles you usually never used protest at the sudden movement.
Your cheeks reddened, figured you probably looked funny to your friends. But they were all focused onto the game, eyes on the ball and the bat, too busy to care about your possibly embarrassing yourself. “Okay, let’s give this a try.” Jin said, and he called back from three to one, sending the ball flying towards you right after. The instinct to turn away and run from the flying object racing towards you was overwhelming. But you squared your feet into the grass as it kept on coming closer and your breath hitched in your throat as you swung the bat forward. You heard the clinging sounds of metal taking a hit and watched in awe as the ball went soaring through the air. Disbelieve rushed through you, you’d actually done it, you’d hit it.
“Yes! RUN!” Yoongi shouted, jumping up and down beside you. He gave you a slight shove when you didn’t move, and got you into motion. You ran. Your lungs screamed for oxygen as you passed the first base, making your way towards Taehyung, who was clapping his hands together and chanting you on. You ran past Namjoon, who was guarding the third square, yet he moved over to make room for you as you ran past. Jungkook’s smile reached both of his ear as you shouted your name, and you grinned brightly at him as you raced towards him, taking his stand at the final base. You were going so fast, you felt like flying.
You couldn’t believe they hadn’t caught the ball yet, you couldn’t believe you’d made it this far, you couldn’t believe… Your breath stuttered inside of your throat as you felt your shoe getting stuck in the grass, and you quickly stuck out both of your arms in the hope to balance yourself. But you could feel your left ankle buckle underneath you, and there was no way for you to safe yourself as you went straight down towards the ground. You huffed as you caught yourself on your hands, several feelings flowing through you all at once. Disappointment, embarrassment, hurt. Your hands stung, and you were grateful for the rather soft underground that took your fall.
“__________!” Jungkook was next to you in an instant, his hands grabbing hold of both of your shoulders as he crouched next to you. You blushed as you noticed the concern that clouded in his eyes as they traced you up and down. “I’m fine.” You mumbled, quickly rubbing your hands against your jeans and tucking your hair behind your ears as the rest of the boys made their way over to where you were sprawled on the grass. If you could brush this off as if it were nothing, maybe you wouldn’t still hear about this next month. “You took a pretty bad tumble though. We should get you inside, check out…” Namjoon started, but you shook your head and took the hand Taehyung extended to you to help you up. The longer you would sit here, the longer you would keep their attention on you. They had to finish the game, and hopefully forget about this terrible moment, even if it were just for a little while.
“NO, no, I’m alright, really! I just slipped.” You let yourself get pulled back onto your feet, but as you leaned down on your left one, a stabbing pain shot through your calf, all the way up to your knee. You hissed, quickly hopping on your other feet trying to avoid it. “Did you sprain it?” Jin frowned, and quickly moved closer to you so you could lean your weight on him while standing on one leg. “No, it’s nothing…” You repeated, not sounding as convinced this time around. Tears stung your eyes; but you blinked in the hope to hide it. Jungkook crouched down in front of you, tucking up the leg of your pants, and he hissed between his teeth at what he saw. Your heard leaped inside of your chest.
“It’s swelling.” He stated, and stood back up to look you in the eye. His worry showed all over his face, and you felt stupid for even trying to take your turn at swinging your bed, knowing it would end this way or another. “I’m sorry.” You mumbled, and he shook his head as he got to your other side and together with Jin they helped you to hobble over towards the house. They sat you down on the couch, and you heard Jungkook ask his friends to call a doctor as you settled down. You wanted to tell them no, that it wasn’t necessary to fuss about this. But your ankle was starting to throb, and the pain was increasing slightly. “There’s nothing to apologize for, you didn’t do anything wrong.” He said as he grabbed a chair and popped your feet up on it.
Yoongi came back carrying a bag of pees, and you took a sharp intake of breath when he placed it on top of your ankle. Because of the cold or the tenderness, you weren’t quite sure. “I should’ve known better though.” You mumbled, feeling more and more stupid with every passed minute. Jungkook clacked his tongue as he sat down on the couch next to you. You could smell him, a mix of his cologne, sweat and outdoor, fresh air. “You hit that ball perfectly though, did you see it soaring?” He said, a little proud smile on his face as he flattened your hair against your head, lowering them down and squeezing your cheeks between them. You smiled slightly as your leg started to feel cold. “It was a stupid idea.” You held on as a man in a blue jacket approached you, introducing himself as a paramedic. You tensed as he crouched down next to you and took your foot off the chair, starting to take off your shoe in order to look at your ankle.
Jungkook squeezed your hand, silently letting you know he was there with you. “I’m proud of you.” He said, before turning to take hear what the doctor had to say about your condition. You could tell he was trying to hide of worried he actually was, but there was a permanent frown in between his eyebrows which he couldn’t seem to ease. “This is pretty swollen. When did you say it happened?” The man asked, and your boyfriend slid forward towards the edge of the sofa to get a better look. “Just a few minutes ago.” The doctor hummed, and you sputtered uncomfortably as he pressed the sole of your feet, checking if anything was broken.
Jungkook wrapped his arm around your shoulders, rubbing up and down your arm in an easing way. “I don’t think it’s broken. But we should probably check if you didn’t damage any of your ligament. Just to be sure.” The paramedic muttered thoughtfully, as he put down your foot. Jungkook seemed to stiffen beside you, and his expression clearly showed he was upset. “She needs to go to the hospital?” He asked, his voice a little higher than just now. The guy held his head towards the side, clearly thinking that question through. “It’s really starting to hurt though…” You brought forward, thinking that maybe a little check up was for the best. You didn’t want to miss anything. The doctor nodded, informing you that he was going to go and get the car.
Jungkook turned towards you, his emotions showing all over his face. “I’m so sorry I didn’t speak up for you, I should have said something. I should’ve told the guys you didn’t want to play. This is all my fault.” He said, hiding his face in his hands, disappointed in himself. You shook your head, forcing him to look up at you and pressing your hands up against his cheeks. “No, it’s not. I wanted to play, I truly did. I wanted to do this right for once. But hey, better luck next time.” You tried to force a smile in order to cheer him up, but you could tell he wasn’t easily fooled. “You don’t have to pretend not to be hurt for me.” He said, and wrapped your arms around you, one of his hands cradling the back of your head as the other wrapped around your middle and cuddled you against him.
“I’m the one who should be taking care of you baby.” He muttered inside of your hair, kissing the top of your crown and rubbed his cheek down on it. Inside of his embrace, the throb inside of your leg didn’t even seem to mind you that much. Someone called out, saying the car was ready, and you got ready to remove yourself from his hug and push yourself up from the couch when he stopped you. Placing one arm underneath your knees and one behind your back he smoothly lifted you up from the couch. You could have sworn you’d heard Jimin cough something which sounded a lot like “Show off” somewhere from behind you when he carried you towards the hallway.
“When this is all done I’m going to take you home and I’m going to spoil you all night.” Jungkook stated, pressing another peck on your temple as he made his way through the front door and towards the car. “I hate the thought that you’re hurt.” He continued, and pouted as someone opened the car door and he carefully put you down in the back seat of the car. His intense gaze locked with yours as he tucked your hair behind your ear. “I did hit that ball though. If I just hadn’t tripped over my own stupid feet…” You pouted, not sure what disappointed you more, the fact that you were about to be on your way to the hospital, of that you never got to finish that game. “Sweety, that would have been a absolute homerun. But that’s fine, cause you check all my bases.” He wiggled his eyebrows at you, and you hit his shoulder as you snorted at his terrible cheesy line.
He reached over to fasten your seatbelt and chuckled. “Didn’t like it? How about this one? Are you one the outfield? Because you’re an angel.” You laugh continued as he closed the car door, walked around from the back and got into the backseat beside you. He fastened his own seatbelt as the driver started the car and drove off the driveway. “That’s absolutely terrible.” You chuckled, and laced your fingers with his as he reached for your hands. “I wield a big stick?” He tried again, and you swore your whole body shuddered with laughter as you made your way over to the hospital, your pain disappearing into the background, as long as he was with you.
can you do a bts imagine where a member are best friends and he starts ignoring y/n and being cold and when she asks why he gets mad and they argue and he angrily confessed that he’s in love?
it would be really appreciated youre my favorite writer you’re so talented lol <3
Hi! Your request is the first scenario I’ve written in a very long time. I hope you like it!
Swinging the bag back and forth beside you, you continued your way towards the dorm. Pinching your eyes against the bright sun shining down on top of your head, you walked straight on. You could feel your brown hair catching the heat on top of your head as a warm breeze tickled your legs. Today it was extraordinarily hot for an early summer day in the middle of June. The weather predictions had been off point all week, predicting bits of rainy afternoons and cloudy mornings. So far, you hadn’t seen any of that. It had been warm all week, the temperatures slowly seemed to be rising towards their highest point as the days continued on and the weekend came near. As the hours went by, the air grey moist and your hair started sticking to your face, making you feel unattractive and gross. You were in an extreme need of a shower, a cold one, preferable. This week had been a hard one to say the least. Finals were coming up, and the weather was making it impossible for you to concentrate during classes.
Your mind was bumping in all different kinds of directions as you tried to make it through the day in that classroom, your mind coming up blanc as you tied to remember what you’d supposed to have learned that day. It was time for the semester to end, so you could finally start your well earned summer holidays. You’d be working in a local ice cream shop this year, and as the sun blasted down on you as you rounded the corner of the street, you couldn’t wait for it to happen fast enough. At least in the bakery down the street, it would be cool. For month you had wondered about which job you would apply for this year, since last years working in a shoe selling store hadn’t really seemed up your league. It had been time for something else, something new. A bakery didn’t exactly sound like much of a challenge, but it was a fresh start, an escape from all the drama which had seemed to have fallen upon you a few months ago.
The break up between you and your ex had gone so suddenly and so fast, you almost hadn’t had any time to process what had actually happened. It was over before you’d had the time to wonder where things had gone wrong between the two of you. In the blink of an eye, it had all been over and you’d been single and ready to mingle before you’d been even partly ready to rejoin the shoal of fish in the big blue ocean. Because as your father liked to say, there were many of those, and you would find your big fish once the time was right. You knew that secretly your dad was only glad his little girl was no longer admiring another man in her life, even though he would never tell you such. It had been tough for him when you’d first met Greg, as it had always been the two of you against the world. After your mom had passed away at an early age, it had always been you and your father. He was the one who’d stood by you through everything, and neither of you had ever expected for that to change.
Until it did. You had been utterly in love with Greg from the very start, and he had been the best thing that had happened to you in a very long time. You’d ignored the warning signs your friends had flashed you, had been blind to all the signals you hadn’t been willing to see. Until you’d been left with no other choice than to face them head on. It hadn’t all been bad. A huge part of it had been a lesson, one you would never forget. There were some good memories too, but they had a sour taste to them now. It had taken you weeks to feel anything else but heartbreak, but you’d gotten there. Manly by the help of your friends and family, who’d had your back and who had always supported you, no matter how much of an idiot you had been. So it seemed only grateful of you to show off your thanks, and bring by a little treat after class.
You’d been friends with Namjoon for as long as you could remember. It was that kind of friendship that never faded, no matter how hard you tried. You could go without seeing each other for months, not hearing from each other for ages, but in the end you would always get back together and it would be as if no time had passed. He’d introduced you to his members, and that was that. Ever since, the members of BTS had become of huge part of your life, and you would never be able to imagine one without them. Each and every single one of them was unique in their own way, and each one brought you joy and happiness while being around them. They had supported you through thick and thin there past few weeks, and you knew that you couldn’t have been where you were today without them. They had picked you up when you were at your lowest, and you appreciated that more than words could express.
Shooting off a text to Namjoon you announced your arrival, happy to know that your time in the bright sun was about to be coming to an end. You’d been looking forward to this moment all day, excited to be with your friends. They’d been so busy lately, so most of your communication had been over text and video calls. Yet, as soon as you’d heard they were back in town, you’d invited yourself over. You’d missed them endlessly and you couldn’t wait to feel their energy around you again as soon as possible. “Hey kiddo!” Namjoon’s voice rang in the air as you reached the gate which was still slowly swinging open automatically. He stood in the middle of the drive-way, a cap shielding his eyes from the sun. A smile lifted your entire face and you couldn’t help yourself as your eyes scanned him up and down, taking him in. He hadn’t changed once bit, he never did. It was one of the things you appreciated most about him, always true to himself.
“What’s up Joon.” You greeted him, trying to keep your cool. Yet you couldn’t help but throw your arms around him as soon as he got into reach. The familiar smell of his aftershave hit you, and you blinked away the emotions expressed in tears which burned inside of your eyes as you felt him returning your embrace. He pinched you slightly closer and just a little bit longer than he usually did, and you could feel his support and friendship all through that little move, thrumming through your bones. “You’re good.” He confirmed, and you had no idea of telling if he was talking to you, or if he was talking to himself. The only thing you knew was that he was right, you were good. You were doing good. You smiled, composing yourself as you stepped away from the hug and held up the bag you’d brought. “I’ve baked you guys some cake.” You announced, and Namjoon smiled as he accepted the box from you and swung his arm towards the door ahead of you.
The gate slowly started closing you in as you headed into the familiar direction. After everything that happened you’d needed a distraction. Something you couldn’t totally loose yourself in so you wouldn’t feel as useless and powerless as your ex boyfriend had managed to make you feel just by letting you go. So you’d started getting into baking, and it had turned out that you’d loved it. So your dad had bought you everything you needed to get started, and you’d taken it from there. Started easy, challenging yourself, and eventually creating things you had never thought you were capable of. It was one of the reasons why you’d chosen for the bakery, it inspired you. Besides, anything to be rid of the smell of shoes surrounding you which continuously reminded you of the person who’d broken your heart.
“Is everyone here?” You asked as you stepped inside of the living area, where all seemed quiet and still. Usually there was always someone around whenever you came by. The chance of one of the guys being here by themselves was nil. “Oh, we’re all here.” A well-known voice rang through the air and you grinned as Hoseok jumped up from his spot hidden behind the corner of the room. He pushed his headphones from his head and casually let them dangle around his neck as he walked over. He’d clearly been working on something, but he didn’t mention anything about the interruption as he captured you in a genuine hug. One of the things you loved most about coming here was how welcome everyone always made you feel. Unwillingly your eyes scanned the room for other familiar faces, but found none. “We’ve missed you.” He muttered next to your head, close to your ear as he let go and flashed his beaming smile at you. His cheerfulness was contagious as you patted him on the shoulder.
“Likewise, took you long enough to get back.” The time they had been away had seemed to gone on for ages. You’d never missed them as much as you had done now. Time had ticked by much slower now that you hadn’t had Greg to fill it up with. Yet, there was no denying that losing something that had seemed so important to you had somehow brought you closer to yourself and what you wanted. It had caused you to find something inside of you which you hadn’t know had been there all along. “We would’ve taken you with us if you’d only said the magic word.” Hoseok joked and you pouted as you saw Namjoon get your creation out of the box on the counter of the kitchen a few feet away. It was a nice sight, seeing your own creations shown off in someone else’s house.
“Jimin and Jungkook are upstairs. The others are working out or busy doing whatever, they’ll all gather for dinner soon. You want to stay over?” He asked, his slender fingers carefully placing the cake on a standard. Everyone knew how clumsy he could be and the way he tried his very best to be as careful as possible with what you had given him made you feel warm inside. He was one of the best friends you ever could have asked for. “Thanks, but my dad will be waiting for me tonight. He got home from work early, so we’re having diner together. Maybe another time.” You suggested and he nodded, sending you a comforting smile. In the meantime Hoseok had cowered back towards his work spot, and was almost immediately swallowed back into whatever it was he had been up to. Concentration was on display throughout all of his features and you decided it was best to leave him be. Namjoon’s mind seemed preoccupied, so you wandered off into the hallway, up the stairs, close to where the boys slept.
There had been a time, before you’d been with Greg, you’d been here so regularly, you had been spending more time at this place than you had had at your own house. This giant dorm had felt as much like home as your own house had. But things felt strange somehow. Too much time had passed, too much had changed overtime. It would be nice to get that feeling back sooner or later. “I’m busy, maybe another time.” You stiffened as one of the doors opened, and a tall man came marching out the room. He carefully shut the door behind himself, until his eyes landed on you standing in the middle of the hallway. They dilated a little, taking you in, giving away his surprise. Until the light inside of them seemed to dim slightly, almost as if whatever he saw disappointed him somehow. “Listen man, I’ll call you back okay.” Without further or do, Jungkook hung up the phone, and awkward silence surrounded the two of you as he stuffed his phone inside of the pocket of his jeans. “Look who’s made the effort of showing up.” His voice words sounded more like a sneer when they came out of his mouth, and they rang inside of your ears like some kind of off tune falsetto.
Jungkook had seemed to have had some issues with you for some time now, even before they’d left a few months ago. There had been a time you’d been extremely close with Jungkook. He was the kind of guy you had simply felt comfortable with. You’d been able to tell him everything, and he had been an amazing friend. But then at a certain moment, that had all changed. He’d stopped inviting you over or answering to your texts and calls. Whenever you had come over, he’d always mysteriously been out or was just leaving whenever you arrived. You’d never been able to talk about it. And whenever you’d asked one of the others about it, they’d always been brief about it. It was almost as if no one actually knew what was going on, or at least no one was willing to tell you in the end. It was obvious Jungkook had developed some bad feelings towards you. It was clear as day he didn’t want to be around you anymore, nor did he want to talk to you. If he would just tell you what had gone wrong, if it was something you had said or done. Perhaps you’d be able to get past this, to start over.
But that had never happened, and it didn’t seem like he was in the mood to change things. He’d changed a lot since the last time you’d actually spoken to him. It was as if Jungkook was finally becoming the man he’d always dreamt he would be. It was the person he’d always described when he spoke about his future self. You could see that imagine, staring back at you. But also, there was nothing of your old friend left as you looked him in the eye. There was something cold there, that had never been there before back in the day. He was still handsome, maybe even more now, but there was something about him that made you want to run away. “I’ve always made the effort of showing up, you were just never there when I did.” You spat, tired of keeping your cool and being the mature one. If he had a problem with you, then so be it. That didn’t mean he should be allowed to treat you like some piece of dirt. If he no longer wanted to be friends, that was fine. But you wouldn’t tolerate being spoken to in such a manner, not when you didn’t feel like you deserved it.
He sniffed, as if whatever you said was ridiculous and you felt your shoulders slump. You’d never been good at this kind of thing. You’d never been good at being the tough one, at standing your ground in the middle of a discussion or a fight. Usually you were the one that tried to mend things, not the one who kept things going. So why bother? If he didn’t want to see you, that was fine. But that didn’t mean you had to put in your time and effort in trying to make things right. It was only a waste of energy to try to fix things with someone who didn’t want them to be fixed in the first place. So you felt yourself spinning on your heels, turning your back towards him and leaving him right where he was. You would never understand what had gone wrong between you two, but maybe you simply had to start accepting to fact that you never would. Whatever had once been between you and Jungkook, was long gone.
You made it all but two steps forwards as you heard a sharp words being spoken behind you. “Wait.” You froze, not sure if you were supposed to turn around or not. You weren’t sure if you could handle the next snarky comment which was about to be thrown your way. The sound of him taking a big gulp of air sounded behind you, and you were curious to see his face. Before you could change your mind you turned towards him, his expression causing you to be confused. He almost seemed…haunted. A frustrated sigh left his lips as his fingers tangled themselves in his hair, leaving the strands messy and undone. Your fingers somehow tingled with the need to flatted them out, and you curled them into fists as you ignored the feeling. Even after everything, you would never be able to stop those feelings. “I just…” He started, broke off again, as if being ripped apart by something you couldn’t see. Irritation bubbled inside of you, anger for all the times he’d treated you like shit while you had been the one being left behind cluelessly. You weren’t even sure if he deserved to explain himself.
“You just what Jungkook? You’re sorry you ran into me? Sorry you had to spend these past few precious minutes of your awesome life having to look at someone as pathetic as me? Sorry you ever met me? Don’t just that there, say it!” You couldn’t remember the last time you had screamed as someone like this. You hadn’t even yelled to Greg like this, after he had broken up with you and left your heart shattered in thousand pieces on the floor. Somehow Jungkook brought out the worst side of you. His eyes widened, and for a moment he shrank back as if you had slapped him across the face. It immediately made you regret your words, but you refused to stand down. Let him feel the same way he had made you feel the past few months. It served him well. His lips clamped together so hard until they turned white, and you wondered if you would ever get to hear the words he was so desperately trying to hide behind them. When the silence continued and nothing seemed to come, you decided it was best to give up. Whatever had once been between the two of you, it was long gone. You shoulders slumped and you shot him a sad smile as you took a step back towards the end of the hallway.
“I just wanted to say I’m sorry.” He suddenly whispered and you could feel yourself freeze in your tracks, too stunned to move. Your eyes moved over him, taking him in. His entire demeanor showed off he might be serious, but there was something inside of you which made it impossible for you to believe him. You chuckled, crossing your arms across your chest as to shield yourself away from him. “Really? YOU feel sorry? Jeez, it took you quite a while to figure that out, didn’t you?” You had no idea where these sneering words were coming from, but it almost seemed that now you had started, you could no longer stop. He had freed something inside of you which had been bottled up for a very long time. It felt good to finally let it go. “After all this time, why apologize to me now? What changed, huh?” You tilted your head to the side, thinking of a way to strike him where it hurt most, but you knew you would never be able to do there. Even in your darkest moments, you would never be able to hurt someone the same way someone had ever hurt you.
“You finally realized I’m just a pathetic little girl? Do you think I’m in need of your sympathy? Well, you can take your sympathy and shove it straight up your…” One moment you had been in the middle of your tirade, finally getting out all the words you had wanted to say for such a long time. And the next you had simply forgotten how to breathe. It seemed as if time was slowing all around you, as you tried to comprehend what was happening. His mouth was soft against yours, his lips pushing against you with just the right amount of pressure. Your head felt light, you felt like you were afloat. His hands laying inside of your neck were rough, calluses covering his palms from holding his microphone four hours and hours. But they kept you grounded. The moment was over as soon as it had started, as as you stared into those dark brown pools of his, time sped up again. You could once again hear the sound of your own breath ringing inside of your ears. They slowly turned red, with a feeling you couldn’t quite explain.
“Everything changed.” He muttered, his voice raw as his thumbs stroked the sides of your face. You blinked in confusion, before pointing your death stare at him and hitting his hands out of the way. Instantly your body yearned for his touch again, but you fought it as hard as you could. “You can’t expect this is going to make it all right, you know that don’t you?” You said, crossing your arms across your chest, feeling your insecurities rising. You were confused, because of his actions and because of your feelings. Whatever was going on here, he better knew he had a lot of explaining to do. A little smile curled up the side of his mouth, and you had no idea whether you wanted to kiss it, or you wanted to slap it right off his face as he stepped back towards his bedroom door and swung it open for you. “Then let me explain.” He said, waving his arm towards his bedroom as an invitation for you to go it. You raised your eyebrows at him, and something desperate shone inside of his eyes as he said, “Please.” You huffed, shaking your arms loose against your sides as you stepped into his room. This man had a lot of explaining to do.
Up and down and up and down. His leg kept on bouncing, and he just couldn’t seem to get it under control. Adrenaline was searing through his blood, his eyes glued onto the screen in the waiting room. “It’s almost over.” Jimin said, leaning back on the couch and emptying his water bottle. Jungkook sighed, turned his neck from left to right in the hope to get some of the tension out of his muscles. He wished he had been able to watch this performance like he always did. He’d loved your outfit, had been mesmerized by your make up. There were several reasons why he hadn’t been able to keep his eyes off of you when you’d jointed them earlier. Yet, he couldn’t get himself to focus. Instead, he found himself counting down the minutes, watching as seconds ticked by slowly. He’d never wished for one of your stages to end so soon. He’d nearly lost his mind yesterday, when he’d seen the messages all over twitter. He’d been furious, that someone dared to write something like that to you. That guy, he’d typed the exact way he wanted you dead, what he’d do to you if he’d get his hands on you. His blood had turned into ice. He’d texted you immediately, asking you keep in touch with him, tell him what was going on, what your management was doing in order to make this right.
The answer to that was, not enough. All night he had been tossing and turning in between his sheets, only one thing on his mind. It was very different than getting dead threats of his own. He was used to it, people hating on him, lashing out. But it was something completely different to read someone threatening someone he loved. There wasn’t anything he could do, he didn’t have any control about this. “Alright, that’s it. Nothing happened.” Taehyung said as they watched you getting ready to take your leave. His entire body fell back against the sofa, all the tension flowing out of him. He knew it was crazy, but he couldn’t wait to hug you once you got back here. “It was just some maniac, trying to freak them out.” Jimin pondered, disgust dripping from his words. He knew his friends cared for you, and they had been just as angry when they’d found out what was going on. But even they knew there was nothing that could be done, they had to leave it up to your management, and hope that nobody was actually crazy enough to attack you. “Wait, wait, the joke is coming.” Taehyung said, already snickering softly. They all knew the jokes were always terrible. They sometimes came close to Seokjin’s kind of humor. Yet, everyone still seemed to be looking forward to them in the end.
Taehyung’s laughter died out softly, when all of a sudden a loud bang traveled through the air. Several staff members who had been inside of the waiting room with them shrieked, covering their ears with their hands while turning away from the screen. In a matter of seconds the camera went blank, a black screen showing. For a little moment, nobody moved. It was as if no one dared to even breathe. And then, everything happened at once. People came running from every direction, filling into the room, frantic to get away from the stage. Jungkook got out of his frozen state, and flinched when he heard another gunshot fill the air. He couldn’t believe it, that guy had gotten inside after all. He jumped from his seat, throwing the small couch he was sitting on backwards towards the floor. “Jungkook!” Jimin shouted for him, his voice barely audible over all the screaming around them. But he didn’t listen, didn’t even look back as he pressed himself forward in the ocean of people that surrounded him. They pushed at him from every side, as they all tried to get away from the incident. He pushed and pulled, stepped on people’s toes without apologizing, he just kept going. His heart was beating frantically inside of his chest, his breath coming out in soft wheezes.
A certain state of panic took over in, making him see everything through some sort of mist. He stumbled, held himself up against the wall. His shoulder knocked into someone else’s, but he didn’t feel it, he couldn’t feel anything. At last he reached the stage, saw the way security was trying to get all of your members down the stairs. They almost pushes the girls out of the way, trying to get them out of sight. He searched every face, but didn’t find yours. And then he was running. He ran, up those steps, trying to push off the hands which were trying to grab hold of him. That’s when he saw you. One of your members was sitting in front of you, holding you up by the shoulders. But that look on your face, that look was something he would never be able to unsee again. Of course it was you, the one who had pretended to be fearless, while he knew you had been shaken inside. “______________!” He’d never heard his own voice sound like that before, strangled, as if no air was getting out of his lungs. A pair of arms grabbed him around the waist, fought him back and his hands reached for the stairs, trying to hold on. Almost as if you’d heard him, your gaze flickered in his direction, your gaze unfocused before you pulled your hand away, looked down and you both saw it covered with blood. “No! Let me go! NO!” He didn’t even recognize himself as he nudged his elbow inside of the stomach of the person who was holding him back.
A loud groan sounded from beside his ear, and the grip on his middle loosened for the slightest second. He used that moment, and immediately launched forward. Slipping from between those arms he watched the way your friend carefully laid you down on the stage, no longer able to support your weight. In the back of his mind he could recall she was crying, snot running from her nose, but he paid her no mind as he fell down on his hands and knees beside you. “God, _____________.” He whimpered, reaching out his hands, wanting to hold you, but afraid to touch you. He saw them shaking, and eventually reached out for your hand, squeezing it into his. His breathing went rigged, as he pressed your fingers against his face, trying not to let his fear consume him. He knew, he knew from the moment he’d let you walk away he’d made a mistake. He could have stopped this, if he had simply refused to let you go. Perhaps you would have been furious with him, but he would give everything right now, to hear you yell at him. Paramedics rushed up the stage, he saw someone moving while wearing a police uniform. Yet he didn’t care. He could only look at your face, at the almost serine expression on your face while paramedics checked up on you.
He pressed his lips to your knuckles, hoping that you knew he was here, that he was next to you. “Sir, we need to take her.” A woman suddenly spoke to him, placing a gentle hand on his shoulder. They moved your body, helping you onto a stretcher. He felt as if his heart was being ripped from his chest, knowing they were separating him from you. She must have seen the desperation written all over his face as she shot him a kind but sympathetic smile. “Let someone drive you to the hospital.” She suggested, and he nodded, though he barely registered the words. They stared, waiting until he’d finally let go of your hand, so they could move. “You’ll take good care of her?” He asked, watched how the paramedic nodded, squeezed his shoulder. “She can’t die, she can’t.” He muttered, forgetting about feeling ashamed as he felt how his eyes filled themselves with tears. She reassured him they’d do everything they could, everything in their power. And then he had to let you go. He couldn’t delay, knowing you needed medical treatment. He forced his grip on your hand to lessen, and felt how your hand slipped from his, the blood on your palm now spread all over his.
He stood unstable on his legs as he watched them carry you away, off the stage, out of the room. He could hear the sirens of the ambulance as they drove off. At once, Jimin and Taehyung rushed up the stage, Jimin rubbing his stomach. It must have been him trying to hold him back earlier. Jungkook wasn’t in the right state to apologize. Taehyung’s hand tightly gripped his upper arms, trying to keep the younger one upright. “She’ll be okay.” Jimin muttered, nervously yanking his sleeves over his hands as he did. He didn’t know who he was trying to convince, Jungkook or himself. And just like that, he simply couldn’t take it anymore. He just broke down, in front of his friends, in front of staff, police officers. His head dropped onto Taehyung’s shoulder, a terrible sob breaking free from his chest. “It’ll be okay.” His friend whispered inside of his ear, his arm wrapped around his shoulders, a hand inside of his hair. But he barely felt it. He didn’t feel it as Jimin added himself to the hug, trying to hold him together. For one second he truly believed he was dying. He had never felt anything like this before. It was as if someone had ripped his heart out of his chest and had left it to bleed all over the floor.
“She’s a strong one, she’ll be fine. She has to be.” Jimin continued, and even though Jungkook had the feeling he could barely walk, he pushed himself off, standing on wobbly legs. “The hospital.” He creaked, and his friends knew what he meant at once. They nodded fiercely and Taehyung reached for his car keys, leading him down the stage. He didn’t know how he reached the car, didn’t know how long it took to get to the hospital. He only knew he was besides himself. He sat in the backseat of the car, roaring at Taehyung to drive faster. He threw his head inside of his hands, tugging at his own hair and screaming in agony. He was so angry, so fucking lost. There were so many feelings, and he had no idea what to do with them. You were his buffer, and they’d taken you from him. After some time he was pulled from the vehicle, he blindly let himself being led through an entrance before getting placed inside of a rusty waiting room. And there he sat, he sat until he forgot what time it was, what day it was. He sat and waited, until his other members arrived, filling up more seats, giving him their silent support. He sat, and all the while his leg went up and down and up and down.
At some part he most have fallen asleep. His back was stiff, his muscles painful as he pushed himself upright, a jacket falling off of him and onto the floor. He was spread out across a few plastic chairs, another jacket propped underneath his head like a pillow. He couldn’t even remember how he’d gotten here. His entire body was in pain, but he ignored this and pushed himself upright onto a single chair, forcing the sleep off of himself. He groaned, feeling miserable, and rested his head inside of his hands as everything came back to him. “Fuck.” He muttered, forming his hand into a fist and ramming it into the seat beside him. His knuckles cracked, and he almost welcomed the pain. At least it proved that by now he could feel something else than the throbbing inside of his chest. He flinched, when all of a sudden a cup was held in front of his face, and he looked up into the kind eyes of Namjoon, who swung the cup into a little circle in front of him. “Coffee, the best survival juice.” He informed him, and he muttered his silent thanks as he grabbed the cup, holding it in between it hands while it warmed his palms. Namjoon dropped himself on the chair next to him, spilled a bit of coffee all over himself and cursed quietly while trying to wipe it off.
“You shouldn’t have let me fall asleep.” Jungkook muttered, bringing the liquid towards his lips and forcing it down. It was too strong, almost bitter, but he would be thankful for the rush it gave him later. His friend remained silent next to him, and for a second Jungkook was sure he wasn’t going to answer him at all. “We never saw you like that before. You just…broke down. You wouldn’t listen to anything we said, it was almost as if you didn’t know we were there.” He said eventually, and Jungkook felt his ears getting red with shame as he tried to remember. But even he couldn’t think back of that moment, it was as if his mind had repressed it. “I just, I lost it.” He whispered, taking another sip of coffee, letting it burn down his throat. For a while they sat in comfortable silence, finishing their drinks. “Where are the others?” He eventually asked, knowing that if Namjoon was here now, they all would have been here at a certain point. Taehyung and Jimin had brought him here, they’d arrived together. “Yoongi and Seokjin are checking with the agency, trying to figure out how the other girls are, if anyone else got hurt. They are trying to find out if the police caught the guy.” His blood turned stone cold. His coffee trembled inside of his hold, some of it spilling over the side of the cup as he thought about this. If that guy actually got away with this, he wouldn’t be able to rest before they caught him. He would hunt him down himself.
“Taehyung and Jimin went home, grabbing you some fresh clothes. We figured you might want to change into something different.” Jungkook blinked his eyes and looked down on himself. His stomach churned when he saw all the blood on his T-shirt, your blood. He pressed his eyes shut, trying to fight the sudden wave of nausea that came over him. “Hoseok went to grab some food, we all agreed you need to eat something.” Namjoon smiled, and Jungkook wished he could actually find how the muscles of his mouth worked so he could return it, but failed. Putting his coffee towards the side he rested his elbows on top of his knees, crossed his arms over each other and put his forehead on his upper arms. “I should have done something. I could have…” He started, speaking towards the floor. But he felt a hand rest on the back of his neck, giving it a gentle squeeze. “You couldn’t have done anything, Jungkookie. Do you hear me? There is nothing you could have done.” He groaned, brushing his hands up and down his face, trying to stop the guilt from eating him alive. “I didn’t tell her I love her, when she walked away, I should have told her.” He muttered, his voice slurred, his eyes filling up with tears.
Namjoon’s face contracted and he threw his arm around his youngest friend, hugging him close over his little chair. “You didn’t have to tell her, she knew. She knows you love her and she loves you.” And so he let Namjoon hold him, in a dirty and cold waiting room, letting go of all of the remorse he felt. He cried like a little child, sobs racking through his body. At the end, he felt hollow, like there was a hole inside of his chest. He wiped his eyes, rubbed his nose with his shirt, knowing he couldn’t ruin it any further. “Hey.” Taehyung and Jimin tiptoed inside of the waiting room. He saw Taehyung’s red rimmed eyes, and knew he’d been crying. He clearer his throat as he thrusted a duffle bag in his direction, sending him a little smile. “We got you some clothes, you can change over there, there’s a bathroom.” Jimin said, waving towards a door a little further down the hall. Jungkook accepted the bag and pushed himself off of his chair. His legs were completely stiff, the result of sitting here for hours on end. He pressed his lips together, trying to compose himself as he began to walk towards the edge of the room. The latest second, he changed his mind and turned back towards his friends. “If someone comes, you’ll come get me, right?” He asked, and they were fast to jump on that question, reassuring him they would. And so he stalked off, eager to get out of his dirty clothes.
He locked the door behind himself, tugged his shirt over his head and threw it on the floor. He washed his hands, trying to ignore the fact that he couldn’t get all of the red out from underneath his nails. If this were the last bit he’d ever see of you, he would never be able to wash his hands ever again. He stripped himself from his trousers and slipped into the pair of sweats his friends had picked out for him. He pulled the hoodie over his head, glad that at least when he got out of here later he’d be able to hide underneath it. With a clean set of clothing on him he pushed the old ones back inside of the bag, and turned to look at his own reflection inside of the mirror. He actually got frightened because of what he saw in front of him. He looked completely disheveled. His hair was a mess, knitted and dirty. All the color had drained from his face, making him look ghostly pale. Except for the dark bags underneath his eyes, blue circles surrounding them. He had never looked worse his entire life. He placed both of his hands on the sink, trying to hold himself upright. He had to check the time, had had to know how much time had passed. Surely they had performed surgery on you by now? Why hadn’t anyone come to tell him something? Opening the tap, he splashed some ice cold water onto his face, hoping it might do something to his corps like appearance.
He dried his skin with a paper towel, threw it in the trashcan and picked up the duffle bag before making his way out. He spotted Jimin halfway up the hallway, on his way to him. He waved him over, pointing frantically towards some dude in a white coat, standing in the doorway of the waiting room. His heart leaped inside of his chest, and he ran, trying his best not to trip over his own feet. The man turned, and smiled gently at him as Jungkook came to a slipping halt in front of him. “Hi…” The doctor started, his name was tagged onto his white coat. But Jungkook spoke straight through him, forgetting all about politeness and manners. “How is she? Is she alive?” He asked, and in the silence that followed he could feel his own life hanging on a tiny little string. That man in front of him, he was holding a pair of scissors, and he could decide to cut the cord. “Mister Jeon, your girlfriend is fine. We performed surgery on her. She was very lucky. The bullet scramed her, it didn’t touch any fatal organs. She lost quite some blood, and she got a transfusion. We kept her with us on recovery until she was fully awake. She’s been asking for you, I guess you would like to see her?” It was as if the floor was pulled from underneath his feet. He actually wobbled, and he felt the way Jimin grabbed his arm to hold him up.
“Yes, I would like that.” He muttered, a strange kind of ringing inside of his ears as he went along with him. He actually remembered to look over his shoulder last minute, looking back at his friends. They encouraged him on, smiling at him like only brothers could. They went down several halls, rounded some corners and then all of a sudden stopped in front of a door. He knew you were behind it, he could simply feel your presence on the other side of it. “She’ll need to take it easy the next few weeks. Due to the blood loss she might feel tired the next few days, sleep a bit more than usual, seem a bit pale. The stitches will fade with time, but you’ll need to check the wound for infection. As soon as she develops a fever, you should reach out to us.” Jungkook nodded eagerly, trying to listen closely to whatever this doctor had to say. But it was hard, as he wanted nothing more than to burst through that door and get to you. “She’ll be sore for a while, we gave her a prescription for some pain meds. If everything goes well she might be able to go tomorrow. You can go see her now.” The doctor smiled kindly, before giving him a soft nod and trotting away. And there he was, in front of your room, nothing in his way to get inside.
He took a deep breath, and his hands were trembling as he lifted one and used it to knock three times. Pressing the handle down, he opened the door a fraction, just enough to push his face through and look inside. And there you were, sitting against a pillow which was placed behind your back. You’d been staring down on your phone, but looked up as soon as you heard the sound of the door opening. A dashing smile slipped onto your face. “I was just about to text you, ask you what was taking you so long.” You said, giving the phone inside of your hand a little jiggle. A dead weight fell from his shoulders at the sound of your voice. He slipped through the doorway and practically threw himself at you. Your phone went flying from your hold and landed with on the floor with a loud thud, but neither of you said anything about it. He wrapped his arms around your shoulders, trying to remind himself not to hurt you as he pressed his face into the crook of your neck, taking in your familiar smell. “Jungkook…” You muttered, slowly snaking your arms around his waist, holding him close. You were wearing one of those horrible hospital gowns, but he didn’t care as he fisted the fabric in between his fingers.
“You’re all shaky.” You muttered, lifting your hand towards his head and combing through his hair. He realized you were right, even his teeth were clattering as the adrenaline left his body, exhausting coming over him. “I thought you were dead.” He whispered, agony audible inside of every word as he pressed his forehead onto your shoulder and closed his eyes. “It’s okay now, I’m still here.” You assured him, turning your head to press a small peck at the side of his face. He tugged his legs up onto the bed, kicked off his shoes and laid there, cradled against you, never loosening his hold on you. Your hand stroked his hair, the other held him closely to you. He couldn’t remember ever feeling more relieved. “My other members are fine, I already got a text from Amanda explaining stuff.” You told him, and he hummed, feeling his mind drift peacefully as he listened to the sound of your voice, felt the softness of your touch. “Do you have any idea if they caught him?” You whispered and his eyes shot open at the mortified shiver inside of your voice. He pushed himself up, making his own face level with yours.
He studied it, noticing you did indeed look pale, but otherwise, exactly like you always did. Your gaze only turned even more worried when you took a closer look at his face. “I don’t know, Yoongi and Seokjin went to figure it out. They’re not back yet.” He said, and you nodded, placing both of your hands on his cheeks, brushing your thumbs underneath his tired eyes. “I’m sorry I scared you.” You muttered as he leaned into your touch, savoring every second of it. He’d never known how easily it would be to loose all of this. For a moment it was quiet inside of your room, until he thought of something. “You knew I loved you right, right before…” He started, but never finished as you brushed your lips against his, and he fell into you. He felt miserable when you pulled back, but comforted himself that he’d have more time to enjoy your kisses, and enjoy them he would. “Of course I knew.” You smiled, pulling him close. It only took him a few seconds before he drifted off to a deep sleep.
"I just have this weird feeling, that’s all.” Elena muttered, sitting beside you in front of the huge mirror which covered the wall. You opened your eyes, to big dismay of your make up artist who had just been trying to apply your eyeshadow. There was nothing you could do but shoot her a reassuring smile before giving into the daggers of the woman beside you and closing your eyes again. “Calm down, it’s not like something like this hasn’t happened before. We’ll be fine. You just have to forget about it, enjoy the night.” You muttered, reopening your eyes as soon as your make up artist gave you the low grunt that you were allowed to do so. Leaning forward you studied your eyelids inside of the mirror before grinning at her, pleased with the outcome. She had placed a brown eyeliner above your eyes, which ended in a small but still noticeable wing. Your lashes were curled and mascara covered them to give them more volume, yet they still looked natural. A beautiful gold glitter was sparkling underneath your eye, making the look more catchy. People surely wouldn’t be able to ignore your eyes this time. For you, it was the only thing that actually mattered, that people would notice your eyes. They completed your look, every single time. “I know, but I just can’t ignore it this time. There is just something about it…” She continued as she checked her own makeup, asking for a few adjustments.
Getting up from your chair you patted her shoulder in a friendly manner, almost in a way sisters would do. It wasn’t that you didn’t understand her worries. You simply didn’t want her to let them consume her, so the night would no longer be something cheerful for her. After all, this was your last promotion stage for your new album, and you should all enjoy it. “Listen.” You said, snaking your arms around her neck and giving her a loose hug, making sure your faces didn’t touch so your make up wouldn’t get smeared. “Security is everywhere. The management made sure everyone was enlightened about what happened. I’m sure nobody will be able to get past that.” You soothed her, and flattened her hair against her head, noticing the shine of it after it had just been styled. She hummed, knowing you were right but still not convinced. Giving her a small pat you smiled once more at her through the mirror before turning and getting your stylist to switch you into a different outfit. You were very pleased with the outcome of your final look. The strapless top was slightly push up, and had a bit of a corset kind of look, yet it still wasn’t too revealing. You were allowed to wear jeans, which you still preferred over dresses. They usually attempted to be too short. The look was completed by a pair of knee high boots, a small heel at the bottom. You felt like some kind of badass princess or something.
Your phone vibrated inside of your hand, and you stopped yourself from making some selfies to check who had reached out for you. Your heart did a little double take at the sight of the text on your screen. ‘We’re here!’ A broad smile plastered itself onto your face and you could feel Elena’s eyes on you through the mirror as you started sneaking towards the doorway. One of her eyebrows lifted in a silent question, though you were sure she already knew. “I’m just gonna say hi to Jungkook real quick.” You stated, pointing out what she’d expected. She rolled her eyes, but a little smile broke out on her face, which was the most you’d seen on her today. Her fingers were fumbling with the fabric of her sleeve, picking it apart. Soon her thoughts were back on the entire subject, her head full with worries. You felt bad for her, knowing she would never be able to let it go before the end of the show. Sneaking out into the hallway, you let your eyes roam through the space until they landed on Jessica, standing a little further away. She was talking to one of her friends, a girl from another group. She was wearing a beautiful black mini dress, golden sequins running up and down the fabric. Her hair was pulled up into a complicated updo, her make up soft and girly. She looked beautiful, but then, she always did. You went over, smiling kindly at the girl in front of her, who was clearly a junior.
Her bright eyes widened at the sight of you, and she muttered a soft greeting before going back in search for her friends. Your band member waved her goodbye before focussing her attention on you. “Is it time to go?” She asked, surprised, as if she had completely lost track of time. Quickly you shook your head and brought your face closer to her to make sure no one would overhear what you had to say. “It’s Elena, she’s driving herself crazy. Perhaps you can say something to her, try to calm her down.” Immediately understanding plastered itself on Jessica’s face and she nodded seriously. She braided her fingers together in front of her stomach as she gazed towards the closed door of your dressing room. “Right, I’ll talk to her. But, _____________, what if she’s right?” She muttered softly, her eyes jumping from left to right through the corridor, almost as if to catch the person right here backstage. You groaned, afraid that you had lost another one of your members to this rumor. If she went to talk to Elena this way, they would simply fed each other up. “This has happened before, remember?” You repeated, trying to reassure her the exact same way you had tried to do with Elena. Jessica tilted her head sideways, considering your words. “I know! But it was never this detailed. The facts in that post, it was almost…It sounded so real.”
Your phone vibrated once more inside of your hold, and you knew this was Jungkook, telling you to hurry up if you still wanted to see him before you had to get onto the stage. Sending her a clipped smile you brushed an imaginary strand of hair behind her ear. “There’s too much security. No one will be able to hurt us.” You sent her a meaningful look and she visible relaxed. It seemed like she hadn’t thought about this so far. “She’s right, we’ll be fine. This is exactly what that guy wants, driving us all crazy.” Amber appeared out of nowhere, bumping her hip against yours in silent camaraderie. They assured you they’d both check on Elena, and warned you to be back in time before your stage. With promises made you finally slipped past them and made your way towards the end of the hall, where you knew the guys would be. The waiting room was rather empty for once, usually it was filled with conversations and laughter. You spotted them immediately. Jungkook’s back was towards you, his leg jumping up and down nervously as he held his phone into his hand. You sneaked up to him, but Jimin betrayed you by bursting into laughter at the latest second, so that your boyfriend turned his head to look over his shoulder.
He eyed you suspiciously, knowing exactly what you had been up to. It had been waisted energy, even you knew that. He never got scared about something like this, but that didn’t mean you weren’t willing to try. “Hi.” You greeted them innocently and flopped down on one of the couches next to Taehyung. There were four of them, it seemed like Yoongi, Hoseok and Namjoon hadn’t been able to make it. Instantly a pleasant conversation kicked in, as the guys filled you in. About how Namjoon was getting a massage because he’d had a sore neck and how they hadn’t been able to get Yoongi out of his studio. Hoseok had been out with one of his friends and Jungkook had dragged the four of them here, but they quickly assured you they were happy to see you. You rolled your eyes at that, before settling your gaze on your boyfriend. He had been quiet so far, but answered your stare with one of his own. He was wearing a dark oversized sweater and some loose fitting black trousers. His hair was hanging around his face in little waves. He looked so comfortable in that outfit, for a second you wanted nothing more than to forget about this entire performance and crawl onto his lap so you could enjoy his warmth.
As the boys ran out of topics to keep the conversation going a sudden tension seemed to weave its way into your group. Seokjin cleared his throat and leaned back in his seat while keeping an eye on his youngest friend. “Did they take some precautions for your stage?” Jungkook suddenly asked as Jimin started playing with the lid of his water bottle on your left. You knew he’d bring it up. He’d texted you last night, as soon as the threats had started showing all over the internet. As soon as your company had realized what was going on, they had gotten the message removed, but it was soon replaced with new ones. You’d been taken aback by it, amazed that someone was so eager on letting you know that they wanted you and your members dead. “You know this isn’t the first death threat we get. It happens all the time. They’re not to be taken too seriously.” You stated, squaring your shoulders as you saw how penetrating Jungkook’s look had become. He clearly wasn’t sharing your opinion, as most of the people around you did. “Yes, we all get them. But not like this. That guy worked on details, he made a plan. He has a date and a weapon. It’s different.” Jungkook said, steal inside of his voice as he pointed this out for you, as if you didn’t already know.
The messages were branded onto your eyelids. You saw them each and every time you closed your eyes. You’d been able to think of nothing else last night, twisting and turning inside of your bed. But you couldn’t let them scare you. If you would cancel your performance or show this guy that his words had had any influence on you what so ever, it would be you who had lost. Then others would start thinking they could do the exact same thing, because it had an influence on you. This was a time where you had to stick together and pretend as if you were above all of this, even if it was all a facade. “I know, but there is no way someone will be able to take a gun inside of this building. They took extra safety measures.” You said, trying to ignore the look on your boyfriend’s face. He didn’t want you on that stage. He would drag you down from it if he had the chance, you could see in written all over him. But he wouldn’t, not if you wouldn’t agree with him. He sighed, a distressed breath coming over his lips as he brushed his hands through his hair. “Fine, but as soon as the performance is over…” He started, but you interrupted him, reached out for his hand and gave it a firm squeeze while holding it. “I won’t linger, I promise. And we’ll go straight home after. And then, we can forget about this whole thing.” You just wanted it to be over, you wanted everyone to move on. You weren’t going to let someone scare the crap out of you over some stupid joke.
Someone was jumping up and down in the middle of the doorway, and you quickly recognized Amanda, your leader, trying to get your attention. “I got to go.” The others looked up at her and Jungkook turned to gaze over his shoulder and sent a friendly smile at your friend. With a deep breath you got up, let go of your boyfriend’s hand and shot every single one of them a smile. You didn’t want them to see you were nervous, that the matter was still getting to you no matter how hard you tried for it not to. You couldn’t deny what you had seen and that man had sounded like a lunatic. He had commented on his twitter account, told you exactly how he would love to kill every single one of you. Said you didn’t deserve to live, you only made the world a worse place. That you were unworthy of the fame you were getting, that you were using people. He had stated he would shoot you through the head if he had the chance, giving each different member another body part, but each one as deadly as the rest. How could one not get slightly offended by that? “Hey.” A hand slipped around your wrist and you looked down to see Jungkook, still sitting on his spot, his leg still bouncing up and down. “Be careful. If you notice anything, come straight down, okay?” You smiled reassuringly at him, or at least you hoped that was what it looked like.
Your face felt strange, so you quickly leaned down to peck his lips in order to cover it up. “I’ll see you when we’re done.” And with those words, you left. A part of you wanted to turn back around, remind him that you loved him, just in case. But you reminded yourself that was a ridiculous thought and forced yourself to keep moving. In the end, everyone would see this entire thing had been created by a lot of bluff. You smiled, walking up to your leader, who was wearing a wobbly smile on her face as she waved at the guys before linking her arm through yours and leading you away. “Elena looks like she’s about to be sick.” She muttered softly inside of your ear as the two of you weaved through the hall, making your way towards the stage. You thought of her, poor Elena, always taking everything personally. These death threats were absolute hell for her. Rounding the corner you stepped into the dark, straight behind the stage, where staff helped you put in your ear ins and get your mic set. Your members were going through the same process, each one a different expression on their face.
“It’ll be fine.” Amber said as soon as you all got together, yet, her words only seemed to color Elena’s skin even more greenish. “There is security all around the stage. Everyone got checked before they were allowed to get in. There isn’t anyone in here with a gun.” Amanda muttered, making sure to keep her mic far away from her lips as she spoke. You had seen her talking with the management earlier, they had probably tipped her off. Some of the tension which you hadn’t know had been building inside of you wore off and you allowed yourself to breathe freely again. Jessica nodded, seemingly comforted by these clear words. The entire group seemed to let out a big breath of air together, visibly relaxing. “Alright, let’s just do what we always do. Give it our best shot, have some fun. We’ll see each other on the other side again by the end of it.” Amanda wasn’t always the best at giving pep-talks. They were usually over the top, or simply worthless. But this time, it seemed like everyone clung onto her words, wishing for them to be true. With your mic strongly gripped inside of your hand you made your way towards the edge of the stage. You could hear the shouting of fans, could hear them going crazy. This was it, this was what you were here for, and this was all there was. As soon as you got your cue you pushed yourself up the stairs, trying to remind yourself this was the exact same thing you always did.
This was your job, this was what you did, this was what you loved. And so you forced your expression to be carefree as the lights went on, put your everything into that performance. You interacted with the crowd, but kept a safe distance never the less. After a while you realized you were starting to forget. Your worries wore off, and you found yourself actually enjoying your time, just like you should. At the end you thanked your audience, you got together with your members in the middle of the stage, you bowed, you waved. Elena stood beside you and squeezed your shoulder. Her hands were shaking, but when you looked beside you, she was wearing a relieved and silly smile. It was over, and nothing had happened. “Thank you all so much for being here with us tonight! We’ll see you next time….” Amanda usually cracked a terrible joke at the end of each show, making everyone cringe, but fans loved her for it. Yet this time, you never got to hear it. A loud bang echoed through the venue, shouting soon following.
The lights went off, causing you to stumble, your knees hitting the stage as you tried to see where you were. Another bang, frightened screaming all around you. You felt an overpowering pain sear through you, and you didn’t even know you’d been yelling out loudly until you felt someone put their hands onto your shoulders, trying to hold you up right. It was Elena, her terrified face inches away from yours. Her mouth moved, as if she were screaming, but you couldn’t hear her. Somehow, things became very still inside of your head, and you blinked your eyes at her in surprise. At the edge of the stage, you could tell there was a sudden commotion. Your sight blurred, and you looked up to see several people trying to fight someone from leaping up the stage, fighting with all their might to get closer. It felt almost as if you were in some sort of dream as you lifted your hand, stared at it in confusion, noticing the strange burgundy color spread all over your skin. And right before you fell over, everything turning black, your body giving out, there was one thought that was loud and clear inside of your head. ‘No bluff, not this time.’

He was giving you that challenging stare, and you knew, that you wouldn’t be able to escape this time. You had become rather good at making up excuses, trying to get away from situations like these. But you watched as the guys all made their way out, one by one, leaving in a hurry, trying to get away. You were jealous of them and you were getting to a point where you were close to begging them to take you with them. But they just shot you sheepish smiles before leaving you with your boyfriend, and getting out as fast as they could. They all look tired after their practice, after all they had been locked up inside of this practice room for hours. They had perfected their already perfect dance moves, yet Hoseok seemed to find another flaw every now and then. But as evening was coming, words of food had been exchanged, and there was longing for showers. You had arrived about an hour ago, bringing them burgers after Jungkook had asked you to bring some over. What you hadn’t expected was for them to breath them in, and leave straight afterwards. It was only Jungkook, who didn’t seem to be in the mood to go home yet. You had no idea where he got the energy, but he’d asked you to stay behind with him and exercise a bit. As an idol, you could say you were fit, but you were no where near Jungkook’s level. You did your daily exercises, but that was it. You knew that if he would make you work out, he would make you sweat and since today was your day off, you weren’t in the mood to sweat.
“Close off when you leave. And don’t leave the lights on.” Hoseok instructed, giving his younger friend a stern look, talking about his practice room as if he were talking about his child. Jungkook hummed, assuring him that he’d make sure everything was in a perfect state once you’d leave. With that, Hoseok left, and left the two of you by yourselves. You clicked your tongue in disagreement as you grabbed your empty wrapper from the floor, your burger already devoured and aimed it for the trashcan in the corner of the room. “I came here to fetch you some food, not to get drilled.” You reminded him and began cleaning up the leftovers so that Hoseok wouldn’t actually have a reason to kill you tomorrow morning. Jungkook pouted, and stepped up to you with that innocent look on his face, but you knew that wouldn’t last. “Come on ______________, we’ll just do some stretching, nothing too heavy. And then you can watch me while I work out.” He wiggled his eyebrows playfully and you scoffed while taking your phone out of your pocket and placing it next to your car keys on the floor. “Don’t think too highly of yourself. Who ever said I like to look at you when you work out?” The lie floated around the room, and by the look on his face, he knew too well that you weren’t being honest.
You loved watching him work out, just the way all of his muscles flexed underneath his shirt. Which couldn’t even begin to compare to the times he exercised without his, his arms and chest showing off as he worked himself into a sweaty state. “Please.” He put another step closer, placing his hands on top of your hips and looking down on you with those sweet eyes. He was doing this on purpose, knowing you’d never be able to resist. “Fine, just some stretching! I’m was planning on still wearing this sweater tomorrow.” You said, tugging at the white and black striped, off the shoulder pullover you were wearing. It was one of your favorites, and you usually wore it as long as you could, especially on your days off. You weren’t planning on sweating through it tonight, making it all smelly. Jungkook released you and made his way towards the middle of the room where he thought about which exercise he’d do first. “You could just take it off.” He suggested it so casually that you’d never thought he meant anything with it. But you knew him, and you knew that he would use every single chance he got to get you out of your clothes. Your gaze lingered towards the doorway, where all of his friends had just disappeared through. If any of them decided to return, they’d run into you half naked. It wasn’t that you were ashamed of your body, but some things you rather didn’t share with everyone.
He noticed your stare and a little grin spread out all over his face as he grabbed the hem of his shirt and pulled it over his head. “They’re not coming back. But I’ll lock the door, if that makes you feel better.” Your eyes followed his every move as he took a few long strides towards the door and locked it from inside. He seemed to get hotter every single day, even though you knew that was impossible. Yet, his muscles seemed even more definite than when you had seen them last time. He was still sweaty from his practice, a few veins clearly visible as they ran up and down his arms. His hair was sticky as it clung to his forehead and the back of his neck. This, this should be illegal. You could tell your reaction pleased him, but you refused to blush and avoided his gaze while you decided to go for some sweet revenge. With the door safely locked, you tugged your arms out of your sleeves and tugged the fabric over your head before throwing it on the floor, where it landed in a heap with your other few belongings. “Fine, you do you, I’ll do me.” You said, reaching for a hair elastic you knew you had fumbled into your pocket at the last moment before you’d left to get the burgers. You hummed softly, and watched Jungkook’s reaction in the large mirror which covered the entire wall in front of you. It was like he had forgotten his case, as his eyes tracked the way your arms lifted above of your head to gather all of your hair in a ponytail on the crown of your head.
You were glad that you had decided against your sport bra at the latest second and had gone for a sweet lace and black bralette. You knew how much he loved seeing you in black, it was his weakness. Not that you had expected it would come in useful today. You tugged at the ends of your ponytail, tightening it and moved your neck from left to right before settling your eyes on him. He was taking long and deep breath, his stare lingering on your upper body before coming back up to your face. You smiled sweetly at him as you sat down on the floor, waiting for him to do the same. “We could do some pushups.” He suggested, and you watched the way he placed his hands down on the floor at shoulder height, his feet slightly apart as he pushed himself upwards. His nose actually touched the floor before he moved back up, his biceps flexing in the process. You bit the inside of your cheek, knowing you were terrible at pushups. Out of an entire workout, it was the thing you hated most. You didn’t have a lot of muscle inside of your arms. “Come on, just try.” He encouraged you, and you groaned miserably as you got in position, trying to mimic his movements. Soon, after a few tries, you were spread all over the floor, breathing heavily as if you’d just finished a full workout. “I can’t.” It came out as some kind of whine, and you heard your boyfriend chuckle beside you, clearly enjoying your misery.
“You’re not doing it right. You’re making this much harder for yourself.” He said, and out of the corner of your eyes you watched him shuffle closer, until he crouched over you, his feet on either side of your body. His strong hands cupped your sides, and he lifted you up, almost as if you were some sort of feather. “Place your arms like this, your feet like this.” He showed you the perfect stance, and instantly you felt a lot more secure. You lifted your head, and noticed the way he was staring at you through the mirror. “Now bend your arms out from your elbows.” He muttered, his hands supporting most of your weight and helping you to come back up after you stretched your arms again. It was easy this way, with him supporting most of your weight, but you knew that once he’d let go and you’d be on your own, a change in balance wasn’t going to be enough. “And that’s how easy it is.” Jungkook muttered, and his hands released you at last. His fingers softly moved up your sides, tickling you and your arms instantly gave in so you landed stomach first on the floor. “That’s an easy thing for you to say, your muscles are so big, you can probably do one hundred of them and still feel fit.” You remarked, and you turned over in between his arms which were now caged around you.
His muscles flexed proudly at your words and he had a smug look on his face as you stared up at him from underneath him. “That’s because I practice, practice makes perfect.” He said, bowing his elbows just as he’d adviced you to do during your pushup. Yet instead, he placed his lower arms next to your head, keeping up his own weight, but still lowering himself enough to make you feel the way his body heat radiated from him. His still sticky skin touched yours each time you breathed, and you tried your best to ignore it. “Well, never the less, I quite.” He scoffed, and hid his face in the crook of your neck because of your words. His breath hit your skin, and you couldn’t help but softly close your eyes at the feeling. Slowly you brought your hands up and placed them on his shoulders, slipping them down his back. Without words his body curled into you, as if craving for your touch. “You’re sweaty.” You remarked, pulling a face because of how clammy your hands had suddenly become. He chuckled and you weren’t able to focus on anything else as he lowered his lips down to your shoulder and pressed down, leaving a trail of kisses all over your collarbone. You were glad you were laying on the floor, otherwise you were sure you’d been shuddering.
“You like me sweaty.” He muttered, positioning his face back in front of your own. You couldn’t ignore how wide his pupils were, how hoarse his voice sounded, how lustful his expression was. It instantly made a certain heat pool in between your legs. You bit your lip, looking at the way his stare was pulling towards the movement. He lifted one of his arms, placing his hand on the inside of your thigh, just above your knee. His touch was featherlight, but it was enough to make a tingling sensation spread through your entire body. “I thought we were going to work out.” You reminded him, linking your arms behind his neck, using your hand to brush it through his soft hair. His face was so close to yours that you could breathe him in, see your own reflection inside of his dark eyes. “We are.” He reminded you as he worked his knee in between your legs, using it to break them apart so he could settle himself in between them. A gasp escaped you as he pushed himself up against you, so you could feel exactly how excited he was instead of his loose sweatpants. “We’re just switching to a workout we both know.” Unintentionally a little moan came over your lips as he crashed his mouth against yours, his tongue immediately working it way inside.
Your fingers plucked at him, searching for something to hold onto to, but there wasn’t anything, since he was already shirtless. He kissed you senseless, his lips passionate as they claimed all of you. You tugged his hair as you felt him press his hands between the two of you, his fingers fumbling with your leggings before he was able to pull them down your legs along with your panties. You kicked them off, before you placed your hands against his chest and forced him to roll over. It was because he went willingly, otherwise you never would have been able to get him underneath you. Straddling him, you watched him pant against the wooden floor, his chest raising and falling quickly. His cheeks were red, as you placed your hands against his chest, roaming his skin. “I have to say, I like this workout better than pushups.” You heaved, and he smirked as he lifted his hips from the floor, helping you to get rid of his sweats and boxers. You leaned down to kiss him, and he cupped the back of your neck, pressing you closer to him while his other hand tracked down your spine. Yet, you were having your own little adventure as your hand stroked his cock, which stood hard against his abdomen.
His growl was almost animal like and he bit your bottom lip while fisting his fingers inside of your hair. Placing another kiss on his lips you smoothly guided his manhood into you, letting him fill you up. You moaned softly, throwing your head back and gripping his shoulders for support. “Fuck yeah.” He mumbled, his hips buckling underneath you while his hands gripping your middle. For a moment the only thing you could hear inside of the room was your breaths mingling together. Jungkook stared up at you, and he still managed to get some admiration mixed in his gaze as his fingers ran up and down your thighs. “Shit, I love it when you ride me.” He whispered, and now it was your turn to grin before lifting yourself up and lowering yourself down again, your crotches meeting. Your moans mixed together as you straddled him, moving up and down on top of him, watching the way he enjoyed it. “Fuck, yes….Just like that.” He panted, throwing his head back and buckling his hips upwards to meet you. You gasped, trying to get a grip over the fact that he was balls deep inside of you, stretching you completely.
Passion was building up inside of you, and you could feel your arms starting to tremble from the effort of keeping yourself up. You slowed down, listening to his small gasps as Jungkook reached up to unclasp your bra and threw it towards the side. “That’s it, fuck me nice and slow.” He groaned, wrapping his hand around the back of your head and forcing your lips back down on top of his. Your teeth clattered together, and you could no longer think straight as he wrapped his strong arms around your back, keeping you in place, so he could lift his pelvis to slap himself into you. You could actually hear yourself squeal at the feeling, trembling inside of his hold as every single muscle inside of your body contracted. His face disappeared into the crook of your neck, and he slowed to a speed that was bearable for you as you came down from your orgasm. His breath shuddered as he pulled out of you, leaving you painfully empty. But you could feel him, still throbbing against you, unable to chase his own high. And you weren’t planning on leaving him unfinished. Brushing your hair over one shoulder you lifted yourself up, feeling strangely exhausted. He popped himself up on his elbows and watched you lower yourself on his body, your nails scratching down his chest as you went, making him tremble.
His hair was dropping inside of your hair, but he ignored it as you closed your hands around him and jerked him off, making him throw his head back as his eyes rolled into the back of his head. “Shit, I’m gonna come.” He breathed, which was your cue to open your mouth a shove him in, pushing until your felt him hit the back of your throat, causing you to gag. But Jungkook lost all control, and you felt him come deep inside of your mouth while his elbows gave out from underneath him and he fell back on the wooden floor with a loud thud. He growled, and when he was done he was left as a panting mess on the ground. You liked your lips, thoroughly pleased with yourself as you crawled back up and dropped yourself in the crook of armpit. His arm curled around you, drawing you up against his chest as you both tried to get back to yourselves. “That was the best workout ever.” You mumbled, and watched him as he let you use his arm as a pillow underneath your head while he rolled onto his side. He was sweating even harder than before, and he pushed his hair out of his face with a smile.
“I agree, much better than pushups.” He grinned, and came up to peck you in between the eyebrows sweetly. You sighed dreamily and kissed his lips before pushing yourself up and reaching for your clothes. “Though I can’t help but notice I did most of the work.” You said innocently, and the silence which came from behind you told you that your comment had bruised his ego. You grabbed your shirt, wanting to pull it over your head, but never got the chance as he hit it out of your hands. You gasped as his hands took hold of you underneath your butt, and easily lifted you onto his hips. He had that same challenging stare inside of his eyes as he’d had in the beginning of the night while he pressed himself up against your entrance. “Let’s see who put in most of the effort by the end of the night.”
